"Layton Courtyard Marriott"
Our room was directly above the housekeepers SMOKING area.. We couldn't even open our windows because it smelled horrible.. When asked if we could change rooms, the lady at the desk just rolled her eyes at me, so I just said nevermind and walked away.. I bet she was one of the smokers.. BUT my stay was very nice other than that.. The housekeepers were […] VERY nice and my son loved them.. Courtyards are very nice hotels.. They just need to fix that disgusting smoking issue and their staff need to go through some customer service classes.. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Poor day customer service"
The lady at night was friendly and , but the lady in the, morning was confused avd tried to charge us double for some reason that she could not explain. It took two hours, of good fighting to get out of there, room was good price and big but not worth the hassle. The lady also claimed to be the manager but . Such a, pain for no reason!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"In need of an update"
You can tell its been awhile since any money has been put into this hotel. Its just a little worn down. Room was okay, but certainly not great. Linens were worn thin and blankets were raveled on the ends and the thin pocket of air they called pillows should have been replaced years ago. Time for a remodel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Bed in an Average Hotel"
07/27/14 rmberg3 Nampa, Idaho
The Bed was comfortable, and lets be honest that's the important thing. The rooms are tired last remade for the Olympics years ago. Missing grout in Bathroom was unpleasant and unsafe for the feet and healthy. Staff was good and friendly. Single cup coffee maker was aweful. No coffee in the lobby......want you to buy that 3.75 cup of joe from Starbucks...thanks, but I will not be herded like that. Got a good cup at Maverick down the street. Most likely better choices in town.
"Clean and spacious"

The room was excellent. It was clean, roomy and the beds were very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and it was very easy to check in. The bathrooms were clean and stocked toiletries. It was a good location with plenty of places to eat. I would recommend this hotel if you are visiting someone at the Air Force base.
"Wow...the expectations of other reviewers"

Are ridiculously low. If you could stay in the lobby, then this property would be great. Alias, you can't stay in the lobby so let's talk about the rooms. Simply put, they are awful. It has been a very long since I have stayed at a Courtyard this below standard. As mentioned in other reviews; cloudy windows, shredded drapes, dirty carpets, and musty smell are your welcome to the rooms. I don't care when renovations are scheduled, I won't be staying here again. Marriott can not be aware how bad things at this property. Poor effort. On the positive side, the staff is friendly and the wifi is relatively good.
"Nice place, good location, great staff"

Marriott has definitely figured out customer service and training staff. It is consistent across the country. We stayed at this property for four nights and it was really nice. Arrived fairly early, and the staff got us checked in. I would agree that the rooms need a refresh. The carpet in our room needed re-stretched. Comfortable bed, tall shower and air conditioned room. Good music in the lobby too!
"Great stay but needs to be remodeled"

Stayed at this property while traveling through Utah with family. The people at this facility were very attentive to details and constantly asked if they could do anything for us. Particularly Cory was very accommodating with the check-in process, looking for connecting rooms. Some of the attention items for this property would be that it is in desperate need of a remodel. Although the lobby / bar area appears to have been recently remodeled, the rooms and especially the VERY slow elevator needs to be next. The rooms and areas were all very clean and presentable however, the window was clouded which took away from the mountain view. Parking easily accommodates large vehicles or trailers and the Cracker Barrel across the way and mall shops (i.e. Barnes and Noble) across the street was very convenient.
"Marriott Courtyard Layton, Utah"

Business stay from Sept 2013 - Mar 2014 My overall rating would be higher (4 stars) if I knew the room renovations were complete, call and ask. The Positives: Monica, Cory, Amber, Stephanie, Ashley, Omar, Megan, Carlos and everyone at the Courtyard for making me so welcome and comfortable during my time in Utah. The staff does EVERYTHING in their power to accommodate you; to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Due to the length of my stay, I was in a suite - which gives you plenty of room. The Negative: The rooms were in serious need of updating/renovating. Aging mattresses, musty odor (3rd floor rooms facing the back parking lot). According to the staff, renovations were starting late spring/early summer.

So, we stayed at a Courtyard in Layton, Ut... I am a rewards member of Marriott... But, this time, there were problems... The room above me had a 5 and 7 yr-old children... Mom, and Dad went to the lobby for a 4 hr drink... Kids went nuts, running back and forth, jumping on furniture, raising Cain... Despite repeated calls to the desk, it continued until midnight... I'm temporarily handicapped, no parking except in rear of hotel... One of the disabled spots in front was an able bodied employee! Seems he "did it all the time" according to another employee... He had been "repeatedly warned" but continued to do it... And, the pool area was overheated... So much so, we opened an outside door to ventilate the space, but when we opened an interior door to cross ventilate, employees closed them both "for safety reasons"... And, we're unable to turn down heater thermostat...
"Clean and well run"

We visited there recently and the front desk staff was very helpful and came up to fix an issue with the TV quickly. The room was stuffy when we entered and the air was not the greatest in cooling the room. we did not try any of the other features on the property but I would go back. I wish they had room service. The rooms also could use an upgrade in power options for the traveler with multiple electronic devices.
"Excellent run business hotel"

A very cheery staff and a clean environment is augmented with a nice bar, decent modest bistro with wine, food and cocktails. Each evening and morning showed lots of lounge use, and good atitudes of staff and guests.

This was not a memorable stay!!! Our prepaid breakfast was not honored, even after printing out our receipt that showed breakfast was included. There were my husband ,myself and our adult son who is disabled. They finally said they would honor 1 breakfast . We left !!! As for the mattress it was sunken and we rolled to the middle. The air conditioner quit in the middle of the night. We have had good success at all other Marriotts but this one Nothing about this hotel resembled a Marriott hotel. Front desk person was not competent to help in any way. Very disappointed at a marriott hotel.
