The hotel was nice but one of our phones in the room weren't working. The only problem I had was that they raised the price of the hotel to $200.00 just because there was a big track meet there that particular weekend. The staff was friendly and the stay was nice otherwise.

Check-in wasn't too friendly. Room was alright, but very noisy. Motel is located close to shops, but also right next to Hwy 101. As it is the Santa Barbara area and we stayed in a Saturday night, it was expensive - too expensive, given the overall experience.

I reserved two rooms for 7 girls and 3 adults. We all had a wonderful time. The beds were comfy, pool was clean, staff was kind, breakfast was delicious. Only downsize, pull out sofa need to have springs replaced both beds tilted or had a slump and not enough tables in doors of the breakfast area. Our room was near the staff entrance to the lobby and every time someone came in or out they woke us up. That is our main gripe. On the first morning that we were there we were woken up by hammering right next to our room . While the hotel staff were friendly and professional the hotel did need renovation, especially the carpet in our room was in a sad shape and need immediate replacement, otherwise the hotel was OK.

We had some concerns during our previous stay, but were confident that they were just a one-time thing and indeed that was the case. We stopped here on the way home from a long road trip. Hotel is relatively new and easy to find from the 101 freeway. We had a 2 queen suite and the room was spacious for myself and three teenagers that like to spread out. Breakfast area was nice and clean. Well stocked.

We live in Santa Barbara, but our landlord had to do some major repairs to our home. The Holiday Inn Express was perfect for our stay. We choose the Holiday Inn Express bc it was very affordable and allowed for any size dog. We had the perfect uneventful stay. Totally clean, updated, and everything we expected.

This hotel was very well maintained and it a good location for our trip. Just outside of Santa Barbara, Carpenteria proved to be a cute little town to stay in. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the room was very spacious for our family (Queen studio suite). The only downside was that the walls seemed to be pretty thin and I could hear kids running […] up and down the hall late at night as well as our next door neighbors yelling. Of course, these two events are not controlled by the hotel but I would recommend not staying on the ground floor. I think a higher floor would eliminate a lot of the noise. My family stayed at the hotel when visiting Santa Barbara in late December 2012. Front desk is very friendly; however our toilet could not flush properly. A technician was sent upon request, but he basically told us there is nothing he can do, and "half of the hotel rooms have problematic toilets with very low water pressure". We stayed 2 nights at this hotel to visit Santa Barbara. The price was reasonable, beds were very comfortable, breakfast was good. However, bathroom had old design tub and a noisy fan, my room keys were not working more than three times, had to ask front desk saff to unlock them and I gave up using the gym as the keys still not working.
