"Pleasant Setting and Charming Family"Reviewed by Norman T of "Dallas, TX" on Apr 17, 2012
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay which was in an idylic country town which afforded great access to local sites such as Bath. Family was an absolute charm with homey rooms with comfortable beds and a delicious breakfast.... Would definitely stay there again....

"Hilton Garden Inn in Bristol Temple Meads, UK"Reviewed by Le A. of "Orlando, Florida" on Mar 20, 2012
Very convenient position just a short walk from/to the train station and everything else. Room is very good with the Mac Apple as the TV/computer so the sound is very good! Very good quality toiletry supplies. Strongly recommended to everyone who wants to visit Bristol with plenty of very impressive churches, old architecture, even the library's is very good.

"Location is great, as is the hotel."
The location of the hotel is unbeatable. We could hear the bells of the abbey and look out to see the parade grounds. I was initially concerned that a BW may be a big box, but they have sensitively maintained much of the character of the wonderful old hotel while incorporating modern amenities like a full, modern, spacious bathroom. We opted for the […] breakfast inclusive package and found it to be robust and offering many options. We set out on foot and did the whole city from this great central location. Read more
"Highly recommend!"
This is a great hotel, with lots of character and in the best location in Bath. We look forward to staying there again! The room was large, well furnished and we really liked the tea room and lounge on the ground floor. It is only a 10 minute walk from the Bath Spa railway station. No need to rent a car, if you stay here, as everything is in walking […] distance. Read more
"location"
The Best Western Abbey Hotel is a large hotel for Bath, but charming and ideally located. It is a few blocks from the train station, and two blocks to the Abbey, which is across the street from the Roman Bath. The price of the hotel includes a choice of hearty breakfasts. Extra note: we downloaded the free Jane Austen walking tour and set out after […] dark. Foot and auto traffic are heavy enough during the day that our serendipitous after-dark foray was a good choice. Read more
Excellent location, friendly service, good experience.
"Perfect Location in Bath"
The hotel is in the best location in bath. Our windows had a view of Bath Abbey and the river. It fronted on the stone plaza of North Parade. It is just steps from the Sally Lund House and other great restaurants. We walked about three minutes to the Roman Baths, Abby and Pump Room. The same distance in the other direction, is the new shopping mall. […] We took the train to Bath, and were just a short walk from the hotel. Staff were nice and friendly. There was a cute little lobby/bar/tearoom. The only downside was the small elevator and problems with controling the shower temperature. I undersand that this normal in hotels in the historic area of Bath. The location and quality more than compensated. My wife and I would stay in this hotel again and would recommend it to other middle class travelers.l Read more
"Great location"
There are so many hotels & BnB's in Bath to choose from and I looked at many of them online! Couldnt decide and then choose this one and I must say the location was perfect. 5 minute walk to the train station- close to everything- not that Bath is that big! Its a hike up to the Crescent Hotel area, being on holiday you should have the time for that! […] :) or if not take a taxi up to it. We spent 2 nights in Bath and would go back in a heart beat! "Great location!"
Very charming hotel right in the heart of Bath. HopOn/HopOff bus stop right in front of hotel. Staff friendly. Food ok. Price ok. When we checked in, they put us in a terrible room in the bowels of the hotel. We asked for a different room. They accomodated us and that new room was lovely. "good location, but not so comfortable"
Location was perfect for exploring Bath. However, the wireless internet was unreliable, as was the shower. The room was small and oddly shaped.

walking distance to everything. Good pubs right outside. Restaurants closeby and easy walk to roman ruins.
"great value for location"
Great location, I had a fantastic view from my 3rd floor room. The room was a good size and very comfortable. Definitely a little dated, and the creaky floors in the hallway were a little annoying, but overall it was a great experience.
"Great location...outdated rooms"
The Best Western Abbey Hotel has a prime location. It is central to everything in Bath and provides a great jump off point. That said, I was very disappointed with the quality of our room. For the price paid, I would expect a standard modern hotel. Instead, the furniture was cheap (like something out of a dorm room) and the carpet was old. We did not […] pay extra for the breakfast since there were plenty of excellent cafes and restaurants to go to in the mornings. Overall, the Abbey Hotel seemed very overpriced. Read more
"Best Western Abbey Hotel, Bath, UK"
This is a lovely older hotel right on a main square in Bath and very accessible to everything. They have a tea room/ restaurant on the premises, and offer a very nice breakfast. The room we had was in the back overlooking all the roofs, so it was quiet except for the morning wake up by the roosting sea gulls. Staff couldn't have been nicer. We had free […] wi-fi, but difficulty getting it in our room, so they provided a cable which eventually worked. Very comfortable beds and linens too. Read more

Actually, the hotel exceeded my expectations. The room/bathroom appeared to have been recently renovated. Better than their website photos! Full breakfast was excellent.

"Great Location and Value!"
My wife and I loved staying in this hotel. We were only there for one night, but wish it could have been more. The value was great. The bathroom was big and clean. The room was comfortable and also a good size. One of the best parts of this hotel was how close to the heart of Bath it was. A 2 minute walk from the roman baths and pump room, while only […] a street or two from the Abbey (thus the name of the hotel!) Great walking tour hosted by the city (free as well!) starts at the roman baths and takes you through all the sites of the city. A 2 hour tour that gives you a great sense of the history of this wonderful town. Read more

"All about location"
Ideally located for everything central when coming for daughter's wedding: Guildhall, Roman Baths, shops. Tricky parking so come by train or taxi! Very pleasant and helpful staff especially the acting night porter, James.
"Great location, Very noisy"
We purposely booked a room in the center of town so that we could walk everywhere. The Abbey Hotel absolutely is in the center of town - and as a consequence was very noisy. Long after midnight it was still quite loud. The service was quite good. When we complained about the first room we were given (on the ground floor right on the street), they very […] politely changed us to a more suitable room. Read more
"Great service with a smile"
On arrival we found the Hotel had no car park and was told to use the car park around the corner which seems to get a little busy.Paid £12 for all day.The staff were all very good and always had a smile on their faces. The room was good and the breakfast good.
"Good for a simple stay"
We (my sister and I) stayed here to attend a hen weekend so only really used the hotel to sleep and get ready. It was perfect, and the room exceeded expectations. It was spacious, airy and light. Brilliant.
"A Brilliantly situated Hotel"
This is a nice hotel situated right in the heart of Bath, everything is within short walking distance. The rooms were cleaned every day and we thought the beds were most comfortable. We stayed for a long weekend which was more expensive than in during the week. Breakfast was not included in the price and did seem rather expensive, although tea and coffee […] facilities were provided in the rooms. Would stay again, a great location! Read more
"Nice location, poor showers"
You can't beat this location in Bath. Around the corner from the Abbey, in sight of the Parade Gardens and Sally Lunn's, and just a block away from a car park. I am usually not bothered by noise, but the birds that inhabit the rooftops outside our window kept us awake, as did the pub goers on the street. The shower had close to no water pressure, […] which made getting shampoo out of my hair a chore! The location was ideal, though. Read more
"Great Location"
The Bath Abbey Hotel is located a block away from the cathedral and a short walk from the train station, which makes it excellent for touring the central city as well as catching a train to surrounding areas. The rooms tended to be warm and no a/c was available, but the fans provided cooled it down adequately. The updated bathroom was comfortable and […] well appointed. We would happily stay here again. "For the birds"
The Abbey would have been adequate, although not great, except for the birds that shrieked and squawked loudly day and night. We could not get a good night's sleep.
"Perfect Location"
The Abbey hotel is ideally located; close to all shops and sights. The room was a bit noisy when people wandered around shouting after their pub visits. WiFi connection was good. Room was too warm; unable to regulate the temperature. Taking a shower was an interesting challenge and I finally had to have someone come in and explain. All in all though, […] an adequate place! "The Abbey Hotel in Bath"
Great location, walking distance to all the main attractions. very helpful and freindly staff. When we checked in we thought the room was very small and the bed was uncomfortable and not good value... however we asked to be moved to a bigger room and we were moved the next day to a very nice room, much bigger with a walk in closet and nice seating […] area and we were much more comfortable. I would recommend this hotel if you want to be close to all the main attractions , the Abbey is directly opposite and definitely worth a look around. Read more
"Perfect location."
Perfect location for exploring Bath. Parking not great, had to park in a large pay and display, five minute walk away £ 12.00 for 24 hours. The room was comfortable and clean, hotel simple and unpretentious though it feels as though its been a hotel for years and was probably grander in its heyday. Would / will certainly go back for short stay again. […] Though this time, as we are coming from out of town, we will take the train as the station is just down the road. Read more

"Centrally located hotel in bath"
The Best Western in Bath is centrally located to all the shopping districts and sights. The hotel should be a 3 star, the staff were very pleasant and I cannot fault the location. However, we booked 2 rooms on the 3rd floor and there was a problem with the heating and water in the bedroom/bathroom. The water was scalding hot, and the bedroom was like a […] sauna. We had the rads turned off and the windows open and yet the room was boiling. we could not sleep with the noise of partygoers passing the font of the hotel, which is next door to the huntsman pub, so DO NOT book this hotel if you are looking for a nights sleep. We changed rooms next morning and all was ok. Not acceptable in the busy xmas market season. th Read more
"The hotel was very convenient for all the sights"
of Bath. The staff were very welcoming and the breakfast was amazing. The room we were in was quite noisy first thing in the morning but apart from that it was a really good experience and I will be staying again.
"Abbey Hotel Bath"
Good hotel in the heart of Bath. No need for car as everything nearby!! Staff were good and the rooms comfortable. Only problem central heating made noise.
Everything about this hotel is just great. Large nice room, very clean. Great breakfast. The only negativ thing to mention was the Wi-fi too sloow.
"Bath-Abbey hotel"
Location is amazing, but we came into Bath in the middle of the night by train and nobody (taxis) knew the hotel as a Best Western, so ask for the "Abbey hotel". Only about a 7 minute walk from train station. Breakfast is fantastic and you can order offvthe menu if it is included.
"Abbey Hotel in Bath"
Good hotel that helped make our stay in Bath very enjoyable. One downside is parking so you're better off coming by train.
"Bath Experience"
The Best Western Abbey Hotel was in a great position for what we required. Everything about the Hotel was to our complete satisfaction and we were very pleased that we selected this hotel.
"Great location, nice hotel but noisy"
We liked this hotel but the room walls are very thin and the town centre vicinity to bars etc means its not the best place for a good nights sleep. But if you want everything on your door step then its great.

Hotel was not to bad,had to wait 20 minutes for a drink at the bar,and their was late night bar out side my room
"Abbey Hotel - great location"
a really well situated hotel in the centre of Bath. good facilities and very helpful, well trained staff who were very attentive. lovely to get real tea leaves and good pot of tea!
"Best Western Abbey Hotel Bath"
The hotel was very central and reasonably priced. Unfortunately I wouldn't stay again in summer as the room was extremely stuffy and hot even when it was about 18c degrees outside. Not exactly a heatwave! This meant you had to sleep with the windows open and it was extremely noisy. Traffic noise due to cobbles, birds and drunks we had it all - all through […] the night. This hotel is a perfect location for city bus tours and the roman baths. Was close to parks, pubs, restaurants and shopping. "Ideal location"
This hotel is ideally located for sight seeing in Bath. All the places of interest are within a few minutes walking distance, particularly the Abbey and the Roman Baths.
