"Great hotel for single or couples, but small rooms"
Very small room, great shower (powerful overhead), no soap dish however; comfy bed. Great cooked buffet breakfast at very reasonable price. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Great location across from north side of Hyde Park. Would stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review

"A Paddington Chill Pen for a Lover of London Walks"
The guest services/front desk staffers were attentive, considerate and sincere in working to provide a comfortable experience for the guests. The location is several blocks from Paddington station, lending to awesome walking sessions - I strongly suggest packing/purchasing the best walking shoes + insoles - it's one of the best ways to embrace the beauty […] of nature, structure & humanity (gifts of life), while thoroughly enjoying the shopping outings. And yes, take a well-sized, suitable backpack to store your goods/be hands free. Some simple add'l tips: truly try and avoid using the tube, bus and taxi, unless you'll be heading back post sunset; try and stay hydrated (carry a water bottle), use probiotics, carry sanitation wipes, elevate your legs (support leggings for the femmes), and try to keep the tv off (with the remote out of touch). May your stay be enjoyable and enlightening. Peace : ^ D Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good for the price"
We stayed overnight at this hotel following a concert at Hyde Park. We selected it based on price and proximity to Hyde Park. We were hoping to stay at Hilton Park Lane--where we had stayed before--but it was already sold out by the time we tried to book it. The Mornington was convenient to get to via the Underground. Good location and amenities for […] the price. The building itself is an older one, so there are floor squeaks and a warren of hallways, but the decor and amenities are very modern. I found our double bed to be extremely firm and uncomfortable, but it may suit others just fine. Upon check-in, we opted to prepay for breakfast the next morning. Breakfast and the staff were nice. There is currently construction in an adjacent building, but it didn't disrupt our rest and sleep. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Close to Hyde Park and Convenient Tube Station"
Was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the Best Western Mornington Hotel! Location was perfect for us - close to Hyde Park,Tube Station, pubs and even a laundromat nearby. Spent 5 days here before going to Olympic events(changing hotels), so we mainly used this location as our base when exploring the London sights. Tube station was very convenient […] for that purpose. Loved the small library connected to the lobby, and beautiful staircase.Room size was better than I expected Only problem was the internet/wi-fi connection was not always working, although once mentioned to the staff it was reset. Had to do that several times. Overall, nice experience and would return! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

This place was surprisingly small, but clean and well maintained. It's not the place to meet people, or really enjoy. It gets the job done...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Mornington was in a really good location. Easy to find from Paddington with an express train to and from Heathrow that only took 15 minutes. the best thing about this hotel is its closeness to the tube station and that the area is very nice and quite - you have easy access to the hyde park the hotel is clean as for the room size - it was very small - we were two people in the room and we could not open both bags because there werent enough space + in addition the bed occupied the whole […] width of the room so you could not walk around it but had to jump on top the bed to get to the other side Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A good place to sleep."
A good hotel, nothing less than I expected, but nothing more either. Located north of Hyde Park, 3 minutes away from the nearest tube station (Lancaster Gate), it's not percisely a great location, but it isn't bad either. Better locations cost much more, so as far as price goes, this was a good deal. The hotel is nice, with a modern, trendy feel to […] it. The room we got was extremely small, nice but small. Then again, in a city like London your hotel is not a place to be, but a place to rest. The staff isn't percisely friendly. I wasn't looking to make friends with anyone, but they did seem a bit cold. Overall a good place to stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Noisy, Noisy, Noisy"
Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights for a recent business trip. The general area is quiet with a few restaurants and pubs in the vicinity. Access to the Central tube line is a mere 3 minute walk. I was given room 17, ground level with windows facing the pub across the street although, not much noise came from the street. I could hear noise from the room […] next door as well as any by passers in the hallway or nearby stairs. The a/c in my room worked ok except for a very loud roar every 15 minutes or so that lasted for 5-7 seconds each time. Since it was cool the first night I managed to not need the a/c on and could avoid the noise. I reported the noise to the front desk the next morning and for the next couple of days and the problem was not fixed, to my knowledge they did not even check it out. The front desk staff was very young and seemed inexperienced. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Ok for the money, but not great"
This hotel is kept well and in a good neighborhood. The price I paid was high for what I got - a very small bed in a very small room. While the room was in good condition, it was nothing special and certainly not a 4 or 5 star level. I think if you can get a good deal and are happy with a small room, then it's fine. But don't expect much in terms of […] amenities. Free Wifi is the best part, but as we all know that is a small value overall. I would only stay again if half what I paid or less... "Convienient and clean--hard mattresses"
We stayed in the Best Western Mornington Hotel in order to be close to the Paddington train station where we would take the express-train to Heathrow airport. We love The Mornington. The hotel is spotless and the staff could not have been more accommodating. "Very comfortable place to stay."
Our only complaint was that it was warm in the room. During our trip, it was unseasonably hot in London (temps in the 70's and 80's), and the room became a bit warm. It was bearable. The location was right next to the Lancaster Gate Tube and beautiful Hyde Park. Very convenient.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"London can be hot"
Even though I asked for an early check-in, it was not available. A hot day in London, a 22 hour excursion from US, and them forced to wander the park. "good location but creaky floors"
The hotel has a wonderful location one short block away from Kensington Park and from the Lancaster Gate tube stop. There's a cute bar in the lobby that's comfortable and inviting. The rooms and hallways are typical for European standards but small for US. My only negative comment about this place is that it is an older building, and while the amenities […] are more upgraded, the floors creak and the walls are thin. When my neighbors came into their room, it almost sounded like they had accessed mine, and the creaking floors made it seem like they were in my room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Okay...but "upgrade" not worth it.."
This was the second time I was staying at this hotel while in London. Last year I got a single room, which while very small it was fine. This time around however, they "upgraded" me to a double room. Which was located in the basement level. The room I had was right next to the emergency exit door which was where the employees of the hotel went out to […] talk on their phones and have breaks I guess, because I kept hearing them go in and out of that door. It was quite annoying when I had to be up extremely early the next morning for my flight back to the US. My window had a nice view of the little alley where the exit led to. And when I was trying to get to sleep it sounded like some kind of appliance was going on the other side of the wall. Needless to say, if they "upgrade" you to room B05, decline it. It's the worst room in the hotel. Stick with the small single room. At least you won't have a view of an alley and listen to employees calling people on breaks. "Great hotel, but shoved in the basement"
This was a beautiful hotel in a great location (Lancaster Gate). The Tube was less than a 5 minute walk and it was a 5-6 minute walk to Paddington Station where you can take the Heathrow Express to the airport. The hotel itself was pretty but the room was very tiny. I was also put in the basement where there are 2 hotel rooms. I told them I do not […] feel comfortable in the basement, especially since there are windows and steps outside the glass. She said due to the rate that is where I was put. I asked if I could pay additional money to contribute to a room not in the basement but she said I'd have to pay out of pocket for a new room which was very expensive. The room was cute, but the bed was hard as a rock. The staff were nice people and very helpful. It was in a quiet, beautiful location too. Overall I give it 4 stars, but I do not recommend a basement room. It was sort of creepy to me for a hotel room to be in the basement. While the glass was frosted and you couldn't see outside, you could see people's feet as silhouettes. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"London - Go Best Western!"
For the price, this Hotel is great. It's in a safe mixed residential & tourist area. It is VERY close to the Heathrow tube, probably a 15 minute walk with luggage, which is the best way to get to the city/airport. There is a tube line (Central Line) near the hotel which will take you right into the Financial District (Big Ben & Tower Bridge) and there […] are several bus lines nearby as well. I found the pubs around to be good, but the restaurants no so. The hotel is VERY clean, bar, lobby, and room were all great. My room was tiny, but after staying in other hotels in London this was much better than the competition in this price range. Having a twin bed is standard, so plan accordingly ;) My only gripe was I stayed in room 507, which is right by the elevator and could hear people coming and going at times. "Very satisfied. Would return."
I stayed at the Best Western Morington for two nights, one week apart. The room I had for the first short stay was very tiny, but well organized and nicely appointed. The second room was larger and had a nice view. I liked this small hotel very much. The staff was friendly and helpful, the common areas were attractive, and the rooms were well planned […] out. The free Wifi in the rooms was a nice touch. I used the small gym on one occasion, just a few fitness machines, but it is nice that a small hotel in London even has such facilities. The location was excellent: only a half block from the northern edge of Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens and even closer to the Lancaster Gate tube station. I would happily stay here again. "I shouldn't really submit this review"
because my impression of this hotel was so favorable that I think: 1. more people will choose it; and 3. the price will probably go up. There are so many fleabag hotels around Paddington. "Quality hotel in Paddington"
Given the quality of many hotels that can be found in Paddington, this was a pleasant stay - albeit reflected in the price. Other reviews said the hotel was renovated recently. Certainly, this applied to the bathroom - which was beautiful and functional, and the room furnishings. The carpet and door-frames looked weathered and from another era, but […] this was a minor appearance issue. Room was clean and comfortable, altho with no view. Very good user-controlled AC, once we figured out how to turn it on. A very good cooked and continental breakfast was included in the price, as was wifi - both a nice benefit that helped justify the cost in comparison to nearby hotels where these generally seemed to cost extra. Lobby and bar/library area was very nicely renovated and comfortable. Its in a quite neighborhood, with a couple of decent pubs close by for casual dinners or afternoons if you aren't wanting to venture into the city center. Close by Paddington Rail for the Heathrow Express (~7-8 min walk) - but far enough to avoid the noise and bustle of Praed St. Just a few min from Lancaster Gate for the tube to most central London locations easily. The building next door was covered in scaffolding and being turned into another new hotel, however this never interfered with our stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Great hotel- no complaints. Clean, comfortable room. Small, but I expected that being a hotel in central London. Breakfast buffet was fine, free luggage storage, easy access to Paddington Station/Heathrow Express (5 min walk) and Lancaster Gate tube was just a couple blocks. Plenty of food choices within a few blocks, and only a block from Hyde Park. […] Not to be confused with a true luxury hotel, but this was a fine full service hotel for an affordable price. Overall I would say the Hotel was nice. I would have liked a fridge in my room for the price I payed. The room was larger than I thought it would be. I was a little bothered one thing though. When I checked out I left my baggage with the front desk. The front desk did not give me a claim ticket for the bags and luggage I left and asked me to go into […] the luggage room and claim my bags as she didn't know which bags were mine. I don't like the idea practically anyone with access to that room could take any bags they like without a claim ticket. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Room Very Small"
For the price & being an American Chain, the room was very small. my husband had to jump over me in bed to go to the door or rest room. There was hardly room for the luggage of the 2nd person. The bathroom was so small that you would be hit by the towel dryer when you enter the shower. When I complained to the front desk that the rooms were very small […] I was told " This is London standard". I think the standard is very low. Very clean, however, could not turn off bathroom fan, could not adjust heat in the room (so I kept the window open), towel rack did not heat, bathroom door would not stay shut and step down into the bathroom could be a night time hazard. This hotel has a great central location, beautiful furnishings, and comfortable (althought tiny by american standards) room. "Comfort Near the Park"
Just one block from the park and a short two block walk to the Tube gave value to this location. The neighborhoods nearby had ethnic restaurants, small shoppes, and take-away stores; and were just nice for walks away from tourist crowds. The hotel has a nicely kept bar and library, good service, and the staff keeps the building maintained and clean. […] The room was typical European size with a city view, both comfortable and clean. "Best Western Mornington - Never Again"
I had booked and paid for a standard single room with free wi fi. The room was in the basement with frosted glass window and was clearly smaller than a standard room. The remoteness of the room meant the wifi was useless. However the real kicker was the room temp. It never went below 27 deg C (80deg F) despite my protestations so I had 3 nights bathed […] in perspiration. I complained and was told the management would be in touch: I am still waiting. "Nice Boutique Hotel in Convenient Location"
I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It is in a central area accessible to two main underground stations, across from Kensington/Hyde Park, and off of a major artery where you can catch a bus. However, it is tucked away enough and in a semi-residential area that you can retreat. The hotel I believe was renovated not long ago, so it really looks […] stylish, especially the lobby area.
