Holiday Inn Express Chicago NW - Vernon Hills - Vernon Hills

The location was near everything that I could possibly need/want and the offices in which I needed to visit. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, and best of all they had a free happy hour from 5-7 which was perfect after a long day of meetings.

I was visiting with family in Vernon Hills. This is a very nice hotel that offers a swimming pool, fitness center and a wonderful Breakfast. My room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Free wi-fi and parking is a added bonus. I highly recommend this Holiday Inn Express in Vernon Hills.

Very pleased with this hotel. Beds were very comfortable, room was clean, staff very nice and helpful.I would not hesitate to stay here again. 30 minutes from downtown Chicago, 20 minutes from O'Hare. Several good restaurants very close. Pick this one, you'll like it.

This hotel was adjacent to the park, so we just walked across the street to our event! Convenient and safe! We were extremely happy wth our room. We were traveling with a handi-capped person and they loved their room as well.

spacious and clean room. A beautiful park with lakes is just across the street. Beds are very clean and comfortable. Hot breakfast is pretty good. Internet is a bit slow but adequate for checking email and browsing.

The staff were very helpful. We were able to get extra towels and toothbrushes, which we forgot. The beds were a little hard but the room was very nice and they offered a selection of pillows which were labeled hard and soft. We really enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful hotel. comfortable beds. completely clean. Best soundproofing ever. I was on the same floor as a teenage football team and heard nothing at all. My only complaint was breakfast. It was awful, and I'm only comparing it to other hotel's complimentary breakfast. I wasn't expecting much and was still disappointed.

The breakfast bar was not stock well at all. We stayed 4 nights and on the last day in the early evening kids were in and out of rooms making noise in the hall without adult supervision. Then when the adults returned at 11:30 they were making talking very loud in rooms and in the hallway and doors constantly slamming. This hotel is in a very nice neighborhood surrounded by good restaurants and stores. The room was nicer than we expected with a sitting area/couch that made us much more comfortable. The pool was clean and just the right size for our kids. Breakfast was filling and adequate. We plan to stay there again soon.

The room was more than adequate. Comfortable, clean, with a small seating area in additional to the bedroom. We only needed a place to stay the night, but the hotel is very conveniently located near restaurants, shopping, and a large park.

My wife and I wanted a little getaway from Indiana and decided to head to Six Flags. We were able to find the hotel through Hotels.com and couldn't complain about the price. When we arrived we noticed a lot of noise in the lobby coming from the pool area, and, much to our dismay, the room we were given was the first room in the hallway going away from […] the pool. Unfortunately we were stuck listening to the pitter-patter of not-so-little feet for most of the night. The room was clean for the most part, aside from a layer of dust under the towel in the bathroom. After about 12:00am - 1:00am, the noise finally stopped and my wife and I were able to get a good night's sleep. I know that the hotel can't control who books and stays with them, but I think most guests would appreciate someone stepping in and asking them to keep it quiet for the guests who are there to rest and relax, but then they'd be getting a bad review about how rude the hotel was to their kids by telling them not to run up and down the hall all night. The breakfast was entirely to crowded to even consider trying to grab a bite there before taking off. The hotel was conveniently located near several shopping centers, and only about a 20 minute ride down back roads to Six Flags. Aside from the screaming kids, not a bad stay. Read more

Check in was a breeze. The only elevator takes WAY too long (there are only 3 floors!) Our 1st room smelled like smoke, and we asked to switch rooms (supposedly this is a NON SMOKING hotel) The pool was DEFINATLY smaller that the virtual tour portrays, and was NASTY. All kinds of things floating around in it, I actually went to the front desk and asked […] them to clean it (I was told it was done with a "big machine" and that it would be done that night). Floor around the pool was gross too, looked like there was blood on it. Breakfast wasnt too bad. We stayed there bc it was supposed to be close to Great America. It sort of is, but you have to take the streets all the way there, and go through a TON of stoplights before you finally get there, about 25min. Rooms are nice and the bed was confy. We arrived and checked in easily without any problems. The room was very clean and the beds were EXTREMELY comfortable. They gave us plenty of pillows which were almost as comfy as the bed. The "hot breakfast" left something to be desired. There was a tray of bacon and some tater tots and then that was about it. Because it was considered a hot breakfast, […] there weren't any typical continental breakfast options (cereal, yogurt, fruit, etc...). Hotel had all the amenities one could ask for. The hot tub originally wasn't working when I arrived, but after notifying the front desk, hot tub was fixed and no other major problems. I plan on staying here again when I travel back to Chicago.
