The people who run the hotel are friendly and helpful, but that can't make up for the unclean room and strong food odors that permeate the hallways and rooms. Would not stay here again.

It doesn't have too much in walking distance like 1 mile to get across the freeway to a strip mall area. The hotel was actually nice for the price with full kitchen and everything that you needed which I wasn't expecting for the price. I was happy to stay there. The morning breakfast is basically muffins, oatmeal, oranges and coffee.

It took three trips to the room when I first checked in to be able to enter only to find out it was occupied. The sheets had hair all over them. 10:30pm. ofc closed. Rang bell. 5 mins later rang again. Man yelled b in a min. 15 mins later he came still dressing. I drove 7 hours and was exhausted. Ran the loud heater all night. I woke up each time I heard any noise by the door. I'd quickly closed the door and windows until they passed by. Rm was on1st flr next to a path. I was afraid for our safety. I'm a petite female. I sprayed a bottle of perfume to somewhat cover the smell. Rm was dirty. Empty chip bag, candy wrapper n 1/2 drank soda had been left by someone before me. I kept waking all night from the smell which hurt my throat. Ist thing in the am washed our faces n brushed our teeth that's it. No shower. Didn't unpack afraid it would leave the bad smell on our other clothes. Complained 2 ofc. Told me management will send e-mail. Returned to my car & saw a cleaning man outside room. Warned him of awful smell. He replied we know. Others complained yesterday. 1st to clean on my list. True to history, the place was dirty, pots/pans/plates/silverware all looked like they had been cleaned with spit! Very gross indeed. Nice area though, if you like commercial parks! Last minute stay, had no other choice!

I had business in the office complex 100 yds from hotel. Affordable. The hotel is not center hall, so the doors are exterior doors to car park. It was quiet, as it sits in the middle of a class A office area. Rooms could use an upgrade, but good water pressure, coffee pot, nice clean bed/sheets, and the staff was courteous, attentive, and nice.

right next to highway...very loud in the back...bed was very, very creaky but ok...no maid service...rooms are pretty small (but I was by myself). Lots of closet space. If you have to stay in San Mateo/FC, this is fine...other hotels are $50-100 more a night.

This place is very old. Dishes and kitchen appliances were filthy! No pool, spa, exercise facility, or ICE! The so-called breakfast consisted of instant oatmeal, coffe, hot water (for tea or oatmeal), packaged muffins, cereal bars, and mushy apples. The worse was finding hair in the shower. If I could have cancelled the reservation and stay somewhere […] else, I would have. But I wasn't able to do that. Thank God for Lysol spray and Clorox wipes. This extended stay was recently renovated so they rooms were clean with new carpet, furnature, bath cabinets, etc. The kitchen appliances were not updated in my room, but they were fine (I didn't really use anyway). Easy access to highway and there was a Safeway grocery store and plaza about 2 blocks away. I would recommend to others.

We arrived late at night and the door was locked to the lobby. Had to wait for night staff. No big deal. But then, our AC didn't work and the sofa bed wouldn't open so we had to switch rooms. The staff was very accommodating with this switch. The second room had a toxic odor, I'm guessing due to the renovation. The carpet was new and smelled like your […] nose in a bag full of new rubber bands. Headache kind of toxic. At that point, we just wanted to leave the location when we woke up the next day. Manager said no - that we would be charged in full for all 4 days. So we stayed. Next, my daughter's shoe went missing under the bed and when I flipped up the bedskirt, there was so much dust, someone else's socks and some trash. Next, our key cards to the new room didn't work when we came in late the next night. When I went to get coffee one of the following days, I overheard one staff member tell another (in Spanish) "Here comes the white lady who can't leave." And they all had a laugh on me. The room was very clean and we loved the kitchenette. It really made our stay very comfortable, eve though we only spent one night. It was nice to get up in the morning and make our own coffee and breakfast. The room looked as if it had been recently redecorated. Nice choices for flooring, bedding, colors, artwork. My girlfriend and I needed a place to stay for Maker Faire and this hotel was close and comparably priced. We weren't expecting a 4 or 3 star experience. I am using that as a guide for my ratings and review. The room was spacious and the bed was comfy. the courtyard was beautiful and the continental breakfast a wonderful addition. The only places where […] the experience fell short was in the wait-times at the front desk, especially when our key card failed, and in pest issues. There were 3 foreign gentlemen with limited English who having issues with their payment not going through when my card failed to open the room door after a long day. I had to wait about 10 minutes as there was no other attendant. I'm a patient guy, and in any other situation I wouldn't consider this an issue; heck, I even work in the hotel industry and understand how things get. This particular instance however tried my patience a little too much. Our second night there, we noticed a cockroach about an inch long scurrying about the kitchen area. We had already eaten, so luckily we had no need for the kitchen amenities, but it put us on edge as far as trying keeping an eye out. this unfortunately paid-off the following morning when we found many tiny beetle-like bugs in burrowed in our toothbrushes that had been sitting on the bathroom counter, and had to throw them out. My son and I made a last minute decision to book online. We drove 6 hours from northern CA to meet my grandson at the airport early the next morning. We arrived late in the evening, but there was no problem with our reservation. Unfortunately the hotel was undergoing renovations in some rooms, and our room had no power running to the heater. As luck […] would have it, ours was the only room available. The staff was very apologetic, and offered extra blankets. It was fairly mild that evening, so we were comfortable enough without the heat. At checkout the next morning the manager also apologized for our inconvenience, and gave us a certificate for our next stay at a Homestead hotel. Nice to encounter a hotel company that really is interested in customer comfort and satisfaction. Otherwise our stay was very nice. It is an attractive property, right off the highway, in the midst of a very quiet upscale residential/office park. I would definitely recommend this Homestead. It was my first stay with this company. Well, let me begin by saying, I travel for work and spend more than 300 nights a year in hotel rooms. I've used Hotels.com many times to my satisfaction; this experience was a horrible stay experience, but an excellent Hotels.com experience. The room appeared clean at first notice, not nice and modern, certainly not a 5 star hotel, but I was looking […] for a kitchen for a few days. I was very tired my second night there and went to bed early, the next day I got up for work (4:00 am) got ready, arrived at my office at 5:15 am and began to notice I was itching, upon further examination I could tell I'd been bitten. Staying in hotels as much as I do, there is always the occasional spider bite (heck, you get those even at home). My third night there I was under the covers and noticed myself really itching, I turned the light on, only to find and kill about 10 fleas (there are never just 10 fleas; those are only the ones I saw). Now for my Hotels.com experience. I immediately got on the line with Hotels.com (I'm FIVESTAR status with them so I don't know if that made a difference) and explained what had happened. I was speaking with a very helpful woman by the name of Judy. I told her that I did not want to stay there any longer and did not feel comfortable with a room change. She asked me if I wanted to move that night, but I declined because it was already 10:30 pm and I had to be up at about 4:30 in the morning. She said that she could refund my two nights that I hadn't stayed in my reservation and book me at another lodging. She called the hotel, alerted them to the situation and asked them to come and change the bed linens, which they did. She then issued me a credit for the unused portion of my stay and booked me accommodations at another hotel. So this morning I packed my bags up and left for work.
