We enjoyed our stay in the countryside, next time we will have to take advantage of the top notch facilities. The pub was comfortable though.

Good gym, pool ok, jacuzzi no longer there would be nice to see it back in place. Service very good, exec rooms the best, some rooms noisy, some rooms in need of maintenance, but overall a good best western hotel.

Attended a wedding Function. Never been more favourably impressed by the efficiency of Service which was second to none and the food was excellent. Pleasant hotel let down by unacceptable standard of the restaurant, whose dishes are purveyed at gourmet prices. For the first 15 minutes the restaurant was unmanned until someone decided to sort out staffing for the evening. It took another 10 minutes to get menus. The man at the next table waited an hour between arrival and his food being served. […] The soup did not come with the advertised trimmings and was so full of salt as to be inedible and possibly toxic - it had to be sent back. The mushroom that came with the steak was raw, a unique experience. The 'twice cooked' chips tasted as described - I asked for clarification and was told that it should taste like a chunky chip - sadly not. The steak and the desserts were fine but the meal scarcely justified the £80 for 2 excluding drinks and starters. Read more

The hotel looked great when we drove in - the grounds are so well kept and beautiful outlooks. Inside, first impression was good and the receptionist was welcoming. We upgraded to a better room on her recommendation. No lift was a bit odd but we managed up the stairs with our luggage ok. The room was huge and looked out over the grounds so we were delighted […] with that. The shower though was dreadful - only a trickle out of it so not very happy with that. Also the bathroom door wouldn't stay closed when one of us was in it - we had to jam a towel under it to get some privacy - the lock didn't work either. We'd booked breakfast next morning but when we went downstairs at 10:30 on Sunday morning we found that it finished at 10:00 and we coulen't get any. They did give us coffee and toast after we asked but this is not good as we hadn't been informed about the early breakfast on checking in and hadn't read any of the literature in the room as we were out all day and evening. 10:00 is unusual for breakfast to finish - it's usually 11:00 in any other place we've stayed. Overall, lovely setting but there are a few things that could be improved with not a lot of effort. Read more

The Hotel is an old Hall with history The Building is very impressive and good car parking Access is via a quiet lane and therefore is quiet Grounds are spacious and beautiful Hotel Facilities are very good Food Quality superb, quantity could improve Staff very friendly and attentive Popular for large gatherings such as weddings etc
