"Convenient Location. Great Value."
The location is very convenient. Free parking and you can walk to Sky train and many close by malls and restaurant. There is even an elevated walkway to the mall next door. I like this hotel for many reasons. I have stayed here every time I visit Vancouver (4 times so far). It is very close to everything. Walking distance to metro station. 5 minutes from the airport. 10 minutes from downtown. The hotel is clean and they have Select Comfort beds but I notice the beds are worn out because they are loud when you try to adjust […] your comfort level using the remote control. Free wifi was a plus for us from the USA so that we can use our iPad to make calls. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. They told us where to get foreign exchange without service charge just around the corner of the hotel. They also have an indoor pool and a gym that you can use (my kids love the pool). "Overnight Stay Near the Airport"
We went to Whistler BC to ski and drove back and stayed at the Radisson for one night because our flight home left at 8 am. The hotel is in a very nice area 10 minutes from the airport. The hotel is very nice and clean with a good breakfast buffet. My only complaint is that the shuttle to the airport, which only 10 minutes away, leaves once an hour. We had a pleasant stay at the hotel. Location is perfect, very convenient. Two supermarkets within walking distance, numerous Chinese restaurants nearby, all within walking distance. The room is very well maintained, free wifi in room (a little slow, but OK). The beds are very comfortable, so are the pillows and duvet. LCD TV, many electrical outlet […] for charging your gadgets. "Incredibly bad experience"
Travelled with two small children, one 9 months old and a crawler. Since flight arrived after midnight, called ahead and was promised at least one crib. Due to the promise, left our travel crib at home. On arrival, no crib was available. Spent entire night awake, guarding infant from possible death or serious injury from falls. Heater in room didn't […] work. Caught savage cold. Entire vacation ruined because of failure of hotel to keep promise. Go anywhere near this hotel at your peril. Worst Radisson on Earth. "Good service and convenient location."
Our suite had cigarette smell. This is a non-smoking facility. When we requested assistance, the front desk told us she may or may not be able to housekeeping to help; they may have already left for the day. After we came back from our dinner, the front desk called and offerred us another suite. The new suite was nice and fresh without a trace a cigarette […] smell. Great hotel overall, comfortable and clean. Wish had free breakfast. Loved location-across street from Aberdeen Centre which has the best food court! Only complaint is the free shuttle service was HORRIBLE!! My family and 2 kids waited outside in the COLD for over an HOUR for the shuttle to arrive. Driver was not apologetic and offered no explanation. […] Hotel manager was apologetic and offered an upgrade or free breakfast. Although we called the hotel 2 times to ask about shuttle, answer was always that it's coming! They should have been honest and let us know there was a problem. Overall, this Radisson is a great hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and modern and the Sleep Number bed makes for a nice touch. I only wish I was spending more nights in this room. On the downside, the parking situation is less than adequate sharing a parking garage with the local mall. Night parking requires parking on the top floor of the garage […] and is quite the walk with heavy luggage. Putting personal preferences asides, the neighborhood is predominately Asian (predominately is an under-statement) and most all of the businesses in this district cater to this culture. Very clean, comfortable and spacious room. The hot tub is huge and the pool good for laps. We arrived early and the front desk was very helpful to store our luggage and move our room to the top of the cleaning list. Right in the heart of China Town. "Bad beds; worse shuttle"
1) The beds had electronic controls for the softness. One worked on only half the bed and the other did not work at all. 2) The shuttle to the air[port was poor in several respects. First, it left only every hour, nothing in between. Second, the driver left us at the ARRIVAL part of the international part of the airport instead of the DEPARTURE level […] because it was more convenient for him since he had passengers to pick up. We had to walk across 3 lanes of traffic with our 5 suitcases and then find an elevator to the 3rd floor. And this was after her had ME put my bags in the shuttle because they looked heavy. I do apologize for the Sleep Number Bed not working correctly. The Sleep Number Beds are not for everyone. We do have rooms in the Hotel that have a regular mattresses should you choose to stay with again. The Vancouver International Airport closely monitors and controls the traffic in and out of the Airport. All shuttle busses, whether for parking, airline or Hotel are required to use a specific roadway whether they are picking up guests or dropping them off. From your description, I believe you were dropped off in the correct location. The hotel shuttle busses are not permitted on the upper level roadway or a roadway that is closer to the terminal buildings. If you flew into YVR from an International destination or the United States and used a hotel shuttle, you should have been picked up in the same spot. From this location, it is a very short walk across two controlled roads into the terminal building where there are elevators and escalators easily accessible to take you up one level to check-in for your flight. The restaurant in the hotel was amazing!! Would recommend it to anyone as a great place to get wonderful meals. The room was clean and it was great to have a safe in the room. We do have additional parking in parkade next to us and we can usually assist guests with parking when things are busy. Since the security changes of 9/11 we have seen an increased number of guests travelling without the basic necessities of toothbrushes, razors etc. We do stock these items at the Front Desk and they are available on request when guests are not able to pack them in their checked luggage. SInce I did not have a car, I was very happy with the location, across the street from the large Aberdeen mall and Yaohan Centre (both with lots of Chinese food options), and right next to the SkyTrain stop.
