Colombina Hotel - Venice

A little hard to find but worth the hunt! Beautiful location right on the canal with a wonderful view out our window! Enjoyed the tiny alley ways once we learned our way around!

Had a great night at this hotel. Conveniently located to St Marc's square 3 minute walk. Good restaurants in area easy to get to. Breakfast was great. Staff was very helpful and polite. Stayed in the "annex" which didn't make you feel as you weren't staying at the hotel. Rooms were great hotel clean.

The location of the hotel was perfect. Easy to walk to San Marcos Square and near lots of shops and restaurants. It was a relatively easy walk from the Grand Canal to get onto the water bus as well. We did stay in the Annex part of the hotel, which was fine, but we came during a weekend of pure rain. Unfortunately due to the overall circumstances of […] Venice and the extra rain to increase flooding, the hotel smelled of sewage the entire time we were there. It was nice that there was a Gondola service right at the hotel. The room was a decent size and of European standards. Nice place, helpful people. Don't spend extra for canal view, I guess I was hoping for something other than 2 2x4 windows through which we did see the canal from, so they were telling truth, but only if you stuck your head out of them.

Was disappointed with our room. When we arrived we were shown to a "box" room. We complained they changed it the next day. Our second room was better, but the heating in the hotel was so hot we had to open the windows and were bitten by mosquitos. The main thing that I would like to point out is that when you review the hotel you see this gorgeous photo […] of the hotel with rooms overlooking the canal. We did not even stay in the hotel, what actually happens is when you book, in the small print it says that your room is actually in the annex. (this is outside the hotel and across the courtyard) If we had known this we would not have booked here. The hotel was clean. The room was small, but fine. My major complaint with the room was that it was very hot. We had the heat off but it was still very warm. The breakfast was typical but did not contain any hot items. My biggest complaint was the desk staff. They were adequate- they checked us in and out and handed us our key, but they were not helpful. […] They were not particularly friendly. My wife and I stayed here for two nights on our Honeymoon. The hotel is in a great location near San Marco. Hotel staff is very friendly and they have an excellent breakfast. Room was very clean but the bed was extremely firm with flat pillows. The concierge also told me a higher price for the gondola ride so I would go with another tour through their […] hotel. For the price, this hotel did not live up to expectations. The front desk staff during the day was outstanding!! The night and morning staff were not friendly and not helpful. The "free" wifi was a painful process, requiring a new userid every three hours and they would not give over the phone. we had a nice spacious room and it was clean.

They took our bags when we got to the hotel early and we were told our room would be ready at 1:30pm which was convenient. The locatoin of the hotel is perfect to the San Marks Square & Dogges Palace. As well as graeat restaurants and shops. The staff were very helpeful and responsive to our requests. We stayed in room #404, which is a Deluxe Room overlooking the canal; just gorgeous!! I highly recommend this room!!

Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Staff arranged gondola pickup at the hotel and a tour of the canals by some other type of boat. They also had a water taxi pick us for drop off at the hertz rental car terminal. Breakfast was very good. We would stay here again.

great location. 2 blocks from St. Marks basilica. Wi-Fi only in lobby only. a little walk from the water buses which if you have much luggage, you will need to pay a porter to carry your luggage. water taxi's come right up to the hotel.

Outstanding location. Water taxi directly to front door. Staff very accommodating when dealing with lost luggage and with dinner recommendations. Very intimate atmosphere, fabulous decor. One downside is beds were very hard, not firm just hard. Although found this to be the case in rimini and lake como as well.
