"Beautiful Lobby, Disgusting Room"
The lobby was beautiful. I wish I could say the same about the rest of the hotel. The service at the front desk was terrible. There were two people in line in front of me and about 30 behind me. The receptionist proceeded to check in the entire group, taking people from behind me in line and checking them in first. Only when a gentleman about halfway […] through the group said "this lady was here before me" did she address me. When we got to our room, the sliding glass door had been sloppily glued shut. During our 4 night stay everything indicated that their housekeeping is completely deficient, e.g. not restocking items, bed cushions on the floor, socks left under the blanket (fortunately our own!), a layer of dust on lamp, etc, so you wonder if they actually do any cleaning?! When we booked they promised shuttle service to the conference center, […] however, most of the times when we needed it they'd say that they could not do it because airport was a priority, despite the second shuttle bus and driver sitting there doing nothing - and that even though we were a group of 8 people and the conference center is within 5 minutes driving distance. The Red Lion has potential to be nice, but there is no attention to detail. In our room the door to the balcony was glued shut, a lamp was broken, the carpet was stained, the floor underneath the bed was littered with trash, the tile in the corners of the bathroom floor was filthy, and there was a large stain on the head of one of the sheets when we […] arrived. The hotel is under construction and noise can be heard throughout the night. There are many places in this hotel where construction supplies, equipment, and hotel furnishings were simply strewn about. The hotel was being renovated so it probably wasn't a representative experience. But I found it perfectly pleasant and serviceable for our brief stay. My family of 5 and I shared a room the first night -- a roll-in cot was an extra $20/night -- but that got to be a little cramped so we got another room for the second night. Long wait to check in (15 minutes). Room had odd noise all night which sounded like the elevator but we were not close to the elevator. The diverter on the shower didn't work well (you had to know the trick to get the water to come out of the shower head). They didn't clean the sink area that well (I wiped a small puddle near the faucet with a tissue […] and it made the tissue brown). Wanted to open the closet door and it came off the track and I had to catch it from falling out. Heard they're remodeling, maybe this will solve some of these problems. There was no extra TLC. "Nice for the price, but were some little issues I"
The hotel is pretty nice, I did notice the wall paper was peeling off on the wall. And our fitted sheets would not stay on the mattress which was pretty annoying. Beds were comfy though.
