"Beresford Hotel in San-Frncisco"Reviewed by Renaud of "Dublin, Ireland" on Jan 16, 2012
If all you need is a clean and comfy bedroom within a very nice Hotel, located in the heart of San-Francisco this one is for you. Beresford Hotel is affordable, the beds are of top quality and people are nice (employees as well as customers). Only point that would be a big plus, would be to have the internet in the rooms, as it is only accessible from the lobby (but it is free)

"Great"
Great hotel, clean and safe, excellent location and realllllly amazing .. Waking distance to union square 4 min only .. I think its one of best 3 hotels in that area area.. Great for shopping
"Excellent location"
Great hotel close to Union Square. Comfortable room but try to get a room away from the elevator. Excellent breakfast.
"Lovely place to stay"
Hotrl staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was great. The bed was very comfy. Overall I had a great experience and nice relaxing stay.
"Serrano San Francisco"
Very impressed with the service levels. All hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
"Nice but cozy"
Great service, rooms are pretty compact, especially bathroom. Wireless internet worked well, comfortable bed.
"Great place!"
The Serrano is beautifully decorated, with a convenient restaurant/room service, and the cutest Animal Ambassador (the hotel is pet-friendly). My room was very clean, and decorated very nicely. The only problem is that the room was a bit small. Because of this, there wasn't much counter space in the bathroom for toiletries, but not a big deal. It's […] in a great area, and taxis cruise constantly, so I was always able to get one immediately. The staff is extremely helpful, flagging taxis and immediately coming to my room to help me with a minor internet connection issue. I travel to SF regularly for business, and will definitely come back to the Serrano! Read more
"Beautiful renovation in changing neighborhood"
The Serrano is another one of the Klimpton's gorgeous renovations of older hotels. The lobby is warm and inviting, the staff is just as warm and helpful. Our room was large by San Francisco standards, the bed comfortable. WiFi is free and works well. Best of all was a huge tub, long enough to lay back and soak. We had some difficulty with the heating […] which kept reverting to blowing cold air during unseasonable San Francisco rainy chill. It is a short walk to the Moscone Convention Center, where I spent long days, but there is shopping on nearby Market Street and the BART. However, the hotel itself is hugging the SF Tenderloin district, although new hotels appear to be making a change in the neighborhood. Not a problem after dark for us, but others might want to consider that factor. There is a doorman who got to know and welcome us who makes a difference. Newspapers, including the NY Times, in the lobby along with morning coffee and wine in the late afternoon. A good hotel to return to. Read more
"The Serrano--fun place to stay"
This was our third stay at this hotel. It's a fun hotel; we enjoy the Kimpton chain--the wine is so pleasant; the coffee and hot chocolate was great in the morning. The staff is extremely friendly and personable; love those leopard robes!

"The Serrano hotel Wonderful"
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel the service was GREAT and it was a beautiful hotel we will stay here again.
"Serrano is a good find."
We've now stayed twice at the Serrano and both times were great. The rooms are really nicely sized and meet the standrards I've come to expect from Kimpton. The staff was really friendy, too. The immediate neighborhood is San Francisco shabby -- but it's not the hotel's fault...the uber cool and much pricier Clift and Monaco hotels, which are right […] next door, have to cope with the riff raff, as well. But Union Square is just two bliocks away. Read more
Very convenient location to shopping , restaurants, and galleries. All the staff that we encounterd were most helpful and cordial throughout our stay.
"Gem in SF"
This hotel is a real gem in central San Francisco. It is very homey and the staff was wonderful.

"Great Location"
We loved this hotel. Our only complaint was that our room was directly next to the elevator, and at check in we were told that no upgrades were available. But, the service was very good, complimentary beverages were lovely, the hotel bar-restaurant was really nice, and our experience overall was very positive. Would definitely recommend.
"great location"
Despite few nearby streets (not well frequented) the hotel delivers an excellent service in a great location.
"Serrano Hotel Union Square San Franscisco"
Good in average. Good Service.
"Gracious staff"
I thought the staff here was terrific, especially as to dog-friendly matters, and the location was good for holiday shopping. I haven't met a Kimpton hotel I didn't like yet!
"The Serrano Hotel in San Frabcisco"
This hotel was a great place to stay. The staff were very accomodsting. The location was great. Our room waas perfect. I highly reccommend it.
"Serrano Hotel, San Francisco"
The only thing that could possibly bother anybody is the close proximity to the harmless and poorer population of Tenderloin, but only if you turn right out the hotel door and the same can be said for the Hilton across the street!. This is a great hotel, with lovely bright and classy decor, great value compared to its sister hotels, and fabulous location […] to Union Square the theatres etc. Do not be swayed by the only negative! "Very Pleasant!!"
This hotels was very trendy and stylish with lots of character. I love the warm feeling that you got from the decor and staff. Not to mention that the place was very clean even though they had dogs around. Another great plus. The wine reception was pretty cool too. Thanks for a wonderful experience.
"Just Perfect"
The staff was extremely friendly. The room were decent size. They let me check in very early. I arrived to SF at 10 AM and my check in time was 3:00 P.M. I call the front desk asking if we were able to check in a little early around 1 or 2 but the lady on the phone told me to come right in. I also brought my dog to the hotel and the stay was traffic. The […] hotel did not charge me for the pet fee. They even allow me to leave my dog in the room. Of Couse I put him in the crate so he won't destroy any item. Now, I know where to stay every time I visit San Fran. Read more
"Great Stay"
We were 5 ladies, 3 generations, out for a weekend of shopping and visiting! The staff was great. We enjoyed the evening wine and morning coffee (but would have really liked coffee pots in the room. We arrived a bit early but we but in adjacent rooms and when we requested a late check out for 1 room, we were accomodated. It was a bit further from Union […] Square than we would have liked but had a wonderful time! Read more

"Serrano Hotel, a Kimpton Hotel"
I really enjoyed the gorgeous classical mood of the hotel. Close to the center of SF downtown, and very convenient, but quiet. The front desk is very helpful and I was very thankful about this. It was a very enjoyable stay. Hope to come back again.

"Wish my visit were longer!"
Stayed for several days at this lovely, welcoming hotel.Loved the corner room on an upper floor that overlooked the hills of SF.It was only a few blocks from the conference I attended and it was so much nicer than the large, more expensive conference hotel at Union Square. I very much appreciated the wine reception each early evening and the delicious […] coffee in the am. I do wish that it provided free access to the business center computer- esp for printing boarding passes - a little detail that would top off a great experience. All in all, a favorite place to stay in a favorite city. Read more
"Nice but needs a facelift inside"
Second time here. Rooms are small but clean, they simply need a facelift. Great lobby though with several seating areas for reading. Convenient to Union Square and Market Street which provides easy access to the rest of the city.

"Great location"
very close to downtown (union square) and cable car, market etc. Rooms are rather small but probably standard for San Francisco.
"Great stay"
Btu nice property.
"Serrano Hotel----SF"
Fine for me, but it would have been too cramped if my wife had come with me. Ideal location--close to lots of great stuff--30 minute walk or 10 minute bus ride from anywhere. A block from the cable car. I'd return if I'm coming alone.
"Serrano Hotel- Good not great."
Hotel lobby and location are very nice. The room was nice, but looking closely there was a little mold in the bathroom-- Nothing too bothersome, because the lovely weather had us out of the room except for a few hours of sleep. Thanks to the hotels.com deal- but I would NEVER have paid full price for this hotel.

"charming, convenient, great customer serivice!"
loved the room, loved the location, wonderful service, and loved the wine reception in the lobby- unfortunately, we always had to leave about 5 to make our appointed rounds and missed it every time, but have enjoyed this at previous stay with Kimpton hotels! charming and enjoyable- we'd love to stay here again when we visit san fran! :)

I was told that the hotel was in union square and it was not. Awful neighborhood surrounding hotel. Room extremely small and cramped. Beggars all over the sidewalks. For the price u charged it was not worth it. I am extremely disappointed.

"Great Place"
We've been spending the holidays in the city for nearly 30 years. Small botique hotels have been our niche. There a re a couple we've stayed in for over 10 years. Once in a while we'll check into one of the big Hotels, Mark Hopkins, Vitale, Saint Francis, Monacco. However, I think we've found our new Home Away from Home!
