The room and the entire hotel are extremely shabby. Paint is peeling and carpets are dirty. Our room was very small, even for Paris. Definitely would not recommend this hotel. No amenities.

The location of the hotel was great, close to subway and many sights, the Seine, nightlife, restaurants. However the hotel was not great. When we got to the room it reeked of smoke even though the hotel is supposed to be non smoking. We left the windows open and it got a little better but my husband had bad allergies every night in the room but was […] fine when we were out. The air conditioning didn't work - they came to fix it in about 6 hours after we complained. The wireless internet worked about half the time. The service was unenthusiastic at best, the room was tiny but that is Europe after all. DO NOT CONFUSE THIS HOTEL WITH HOTEL DU LOUVRE!!! I thought that is what I was booking and thought I got a great deal. Should have known it was too good to be true. Next time I will do more research and find a better place. Read more

They downgraded me from an executive room to a standard room. For the inconvenience, they offered me a complementary breakfast. Are you kidding? I said "how about a cheaper rate instead?" they were able to charge me less. Fine. The room itself was so small that I could barely maneuver in the shower without rubbing against the toilet. Even though I was […] in a non-smoking room, other guests kept smoking in the hallway. The doors and construction is so shoddy that whenever someone lit up, it was as if they were in my room smoking, defeating the purpose of non-smoking rooms. The most upsetting thing about this place is their maids do not follow the instructions on your door tag. I specifically requested DO NOT DISTURB, both on my door tag as well as at the front desk. They disregarded this and entered and cleaned my room anyway. The next day, as I was leaving in the afternoon, I placed the do not disturb tag on again. As the maid saw me walk down the hallway she rushed over to my room. I waited for a minute by the stairs, then walked back to my room to see her Inside my room! I told her to leave. When checking out, I requested they call a taxi. Instead, they told me to just go to a taxi stand. It was a 10 minute walk away and I waited for 15 minutes before a taxi arrived. Overall, the rooms need to be gutted and completely overhauled. The staff needs lessons in standard hospitality protocol, and the maids need to learn how to read. Read more

We will CLEARLY stay at Hotel France Louvre when we next visit Paris. The location is perfect, and the hotel itself is clean unpretentious. The beds are extremely comfortable, as are the pillows. I felt like I was sleeping inmy own bed. The sheets were soft and enveloping The concierge was always friendly and helpful.

Mold everywhere! Carpets are soaked with growing mold, mold on the walls. You can see where they have taken things like an old tv down off the wall and they have not patched the holes up or bothered painting

Deceiving name, the France Louvre it's accross the street from the Hotel De Ville not the Louvre, maybe it should be called Paris De Louvre. definitely a quirky hotel. my wife and i arrived in france a few hours ago (8:00 AM), got to the TINY front desk and were told that check in is only at 2:00 PM- which is not ideal, but not a deal breaker either. the lady at the front desk gave us a 'key' and told us we could store our bags there till check in time. the 'baggage storage' area is actually […] a 2'x2' nook where everyone is expected to pile their bags on top of each other. we had 3 bags that took me 20 minutes to arrange into this 'closet.' so far, the experience has been just that- i'm not sure i'd recommend anyone to necessarily stay here (although i haven't seen the rooms, but based on the size of everything, i'm not expecting much) unless you want to not spend too much money on your trip. will have to update my review after we check in...in 3 more hours :( Read more

The entrance is tiny and the elevator much smaller. Don't bring much luggage. From cigarette burns in the blanket to crushed spots in the bathroom door, the physical room was rough. A feather pillow had feathers coming out. The staff required a 30 Euro deposit and would not give it back unless we had the receipt, even though we had not used the minibar […] or breakfast. I stayed at this hotel 15 years ago with my daughter when she was ten. The location of the hotel is unbelievable, you are near everything including the Metro. Notre Dame, The Louvre, Latin Quarters and shopping is all walking distance. We even walked to the Eiffel tour twice during our stay. we were so close to all tourist attractions...the station for the metro line 1 that covers all the key attractions, was one block away. the rooms were small but that was expected given the price and the awesome location. i booked the hotel 4 months in advance and got a very cheap deal. i would stay there even in my next trip.

this is a very small neighborhood Marais hotel (request a room to the back as it sits on the Rue de Rivoli) but the location cannot be beat. Staff very helpful but rooms are micro tiny. It was a typical small hotel. It was clean, the bed was very comfortable but our bathroom had a pipe leak. Front desk may speak English but were not helpful when we tried to find out about the RER being closed for construction. They should be aware of those issues for a traveler. Personally would not stay at this hotel again.

We stayed for three nights in an executive room and whilst the hotel isn't a super modern and posh hotel, it is in an awesome location, and ticked all the boxes of somewhere to stay for a weekend that you're mostly out of the room anyway. Don't confuse with Hotel du Louvre! Good location for metro stations, shops and cafes and sites within walking distance such as Notre-Dame. Room in ok condition - very comfy bed but tired carpet, walls, furnishings etc. Excellent powerful shower! Didn't try hotel breakfast because seemed expensive (13 Euros).

I spen a lovely long weekend in Paris on my own. I had a sigle room in the Hotel. The room was clean, and warm and had a bath tub/shower. Wi-fi worked excellently and allowed me to communicate to friends and family back home. I did not have breakfast at the hotel as there were too many lovely caffes around to go to in the morning. Louvre is just down the road and the seine cruise companies have stop at Hotel de Ville, which is near the hotel.
