"Hotel Grand Union"
Except for my bathroom which was very cold in the winter because not heated, it was very clean and the service very good. Very well located, near the subway.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Really nice hotel"
The hotel was very nice and very well located! It was warm and clean. I would definitely recomend it!Genuine Expedia guest review
Rooms are small but adequate. Staff is accommodating. Heat cannot be regulated. Continental breakfast skimpy. Elevators tiny. But it's New York -you are clean, safe, and have what you need at a reasonable price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel, internet was S-L-O-W"
This is a nice place in a great location. My only quibbles are 1.) The building has that old boiler heat and the room was stifling! I had to open a window! 2.) The access to free wifi was useless because the connection was so unstable and slow! Also, the hotels.com website says "Airport Shuttle" but that simply means they will call a shuttle for you […] from the hotel to the airport (you have to pay for this). There is no shuttle to take you to the Grand Union from area airports. I knew I'd have to pay but thought I could get a ride to the hotel from JFK based on that language in the description. We were there for 1 night but it was great as close to everythingGenuine Expedia guest review
Quiet, clean room. Too hot for our family of 4, there was AC,but it would not cool off twin bed area.Left our luggage for the afternoon after chack out,but there was no locked room or tagging. Seemed anyone could walk in or out and grab and go. Did lose a coat somehow between hotel and car parked out front......Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel close to many attractions"
The hotel prices were acceptable and the hotel was walking distance from the Times Square and the Empire State Building is only half block away. Loved the location.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel in a good location"
The hotel has friendly staff and is very well located. Even though it's in an old building like so many things in New York, the room was comfortable and even cozy. The one thing I didn't like is they have a limit of two items per person on their continental breakfast. I don't think I've ever seen that before.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location with reasonable price"
I stayed one night for my last business trip. overall it was a good experience. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not what I expexted"
On par with days inn, but about double the price... Everything is small from the elevator to the room... And the bed was bouncy bouncy bouncy... Thumbs downGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Felt like a hotel you rent by the hour."
All fluorescent lighting, even in the room. Hair on the toilet. Terrible mattress, it would squeak so loud you'd wake up at night when turning over. You hear everything, every door than opens and closes, people talking, etc. And for that they charged $250 for one night. I'd rather pay an extra $100 next time and stay somewhere nicer and that doesn't […] feel like it's going to have police raid it any second. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Place is OK. Staff is nice, room OK. @ $300 a "good value" in NYCGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I was expecting more for the price I paid. Everything was okay but for $266 a night I was expecting more. I have stayed in places for $150 a night elsewhere that had more to offer like a microwave, a full breakfast, and more spacious room.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Location-Close to Everything"
The hotel is close to everything. The hotel is older, but it is clean and the staff is friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not worth it"
Facility is old and run down. Breakfast which was included was terrible, no juice, cereal , decafe coffee room was small although clean.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice, Cozy & Convenient Place!!!"
This hotel was in a great location. If your coming to the city for just a night, this is the place for you. Although rooms are very tiny, it serves its true purpose, a place to sleep after being out all day & night at Times Square. Free Coffee & Breakfast in the morning. Perfect!Genuine Expedia guest review
My family and I just stayed at grand union for two nights and we were all very happy with their service. The staff was nice and accommodating and the location is superb!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for visitors"
Staff was great. I stayed here because I flew in for an interview. It was 97 degrees in nyc and although the window ac was fine for my room, by the time I got down to the lobby I was covered in sweat bc no ac in hall or elevator. Good choice for the 9 cooler months of the year but not summer. Location great, safe neighborhood, restaurant downstairs […] good food and friendly people, salon directly across the street very convenient. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Comfortable stay, but outdated"
I went with 2 other friends for a weekend getaway in NYC. The overall comfort was great, I mean we had 3 beds for 3 guys so that worked out perfect. The room was neat, clean, and the beds were very comfortable. It's not the end of the world, but for a hotel that expensive, you'd think they'd have newer TV's and everything would work properly. They had […] an old ~25" crt television instead of a flat panel, the lamp switches had to be wiggled for the light to stay on, and some of the lights in the bathroom were burned out. It's no big deal, but we could have paid much less at a hotel like holiday inn or comfort in and had a more modern and functional room. Overall, the stay was great though and the staff was friendly and helpful. There is also an attached café in the main lobby! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good central location"
I thought Hotel Grand Union was perfect for my Saturday night stay before a company meeting in the city. It was clean, staff was friendly and the room was perfect for just me. It is located in/near Koreatown which is a bonus if you like Korean food and services.Free wifi and continental breakfast is nice (although I didn't have the breakfast).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't stay here."
While Hotel was clean, everything about hotel was below average. It started with a sign that said "portable smoke dectors" available on request. Elevator smells, air condition blew hot air. Hallways had a smell to it. Would not stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"I love this place"
Best location, cozy room, nice people. Free breakfast, free wifi. I love this place, from a single traveler's perspective.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is ok... The guys who's work at front desk they are nice, sweet and treat us very good but the rooms are disgusting the housecleaning they are horrible.. Those woman they don't know how to clean..Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Disappointing hotel for this price"
The room was very small, towels are " white" as should be. The window looked inside of the building.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Best experience for low cost hotel"
This was the best low cost hotel experience I've had in New York. The room was small and the elevator slow, but those are my ONLY negative comments. If you've ever stayed in a hotel in Europe, this will compare if not excel. The location was amazing! 100 yards from the subway, three blocks from both Penn and Grand Central Stations (buses to and from […] all airports go to Grand Central). It was even closer to the Empire State Building. Seriously, a great experience. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was OK. I stayed on the second floor and am not sure if the other floors were better or renovated. The main problem I had was that there was no table in the room. I had to work on my computer and it was very uncomfortable. Staff were courteous and helpful. If you are Korean, you'd probably like it more as 'Little Korea' is just up the street. […] The highlight of my stay, besides shopping at Macy's, was the pomegranate pavlova at the Artisanal Restautant accross the road. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cheap hotel in Manhattan; you get what you pay for"
This is a good hotel if you just need to crash, which if you're in NYC, that's all you should be doing. It does the job and doesn't excel in any particular area. There was something a little bit shady about the elevator, narrow stairwells, and the room wasn't filthy but was definitely dingy and run-down. Good location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great Location but otherwise unremarkable hotel....Would be fine for much lower rate especially the absurd amount that the hotel claims is the "going" rate....Overall Average...Far below standard of most other NYC hotels where I have had the pleasure to stay...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not for me"
Lobby was nice and staff was friendly. I thought the rooms were in need of a complete updating. Furnishing were dated and TV too small. Breakfast was no big deal.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good value hotel"
Nice room for a great price. The room was a good size and comfortable. My only complaint was that I could hear loud traffic all night from the 6th floor. The free breakfast had only pastries but there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent Convinient and Affordable"
The rooms are big enough, the Elevator is a bit slow but the location is astounding it is a block away from the Empire State, excellent for tourism and rate was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location for the price"
Simple decor and beds. Needs updating. Great shower! (old showerhead=heavy water). Also really cold faucet water! Poor choices for breakfast. One block from Madison Ave, three blocks from Empire State Building.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Perfect location for the price. Felt safe. Walking distance to Penn Station even with our overnight bag. We were able to check in earlier. There is a free secured luggage area thay we used post check out for several hours while still shopping which was so useful. Wasn't there long enough to interact with staff but the man at the front counter was very […] friendly. The room was small but very clean. Definitely would stay again and recommend to friends. "Standart New York Hotel"
Hotelin yeri harika. Personelin Türk olması bize süpriz oldu. Çok rahat ettik. Aşdığı ücreti hakketti.Genuine Expedia guest review
"very good for the price"
I went w my bf to spend Valentine's week at NYC. Most of the time you are out shopping and having fun and we just wanted a cheap hotel to sleep and have some rest in the evenings, for this purposes, and the price, it was perfect. Also includes "breakfast" just reduced to bagels, sweet bread and coffee, this is a good start but not very satisfied. They […] cleaned the room everyday, new towels and friendly staff. I would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Pick a better place nearby."
Hotel is below average. Things are old, room is small, hall is small and dark. Service was not very good.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very Small rooms, not very nice. Close to Penn Station, but that's the only perk.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Clean, good size, low cost hotel near Korea Town"
Great budget hotel in Korea Town. Very clean full size rooms. White bed cover looks very clean and inspires confidence. Great food choices near by.Genuine Expedia guest review
The only problem with my room was the extreme heat. The A/C unit was set at 88degrees , the window was opened and could not be opened more and the A/C unit could not be adjusted. It is true I did not call the front desk for help, I was just too tired and with a bad cold.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not 3 star quality!"
This is not a 3 star hotel. 1 small elevator for 10 floors of guests and housekeeping. When I walked into the room it was like stepping back into time.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Location and Price, Bad Advertising!"
Hotel was clean, location was great. Only issue was with the advertising of the room. I booked a "triple", Expedia advertised as 2 double beds or 1 double and 2 singles. When I arrived at 1am, my room had 1 single and 1 double. The front desk guy was helpless to make changes and only could recommend speaking with management in the morning.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel Great Price"
The hotel is a good deal for the money. Great location, Nice staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not 3.5 stars"
The pillows were lumpy, room was cold, and the bathtub sink did not drain. By the time I was done with a shower, the tub was filled with soapy water. The water turned from hot to cold without warning. on the positive side, the employees at the front desk were pleasent, it was in a good location, and the hotel was clean and safe.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Well appointed location, clean and friendly hotel"
Great location, close to subway and much within easy walking distance. Very good value for money, so what more can you ask. There was nothing fancy about the hotel but the accommodation was perfectly adequate, though not luxurious. The rooms were nice and a comfy chair would have been a bonus. Our breakfast was not much to write home about, with little […] choice, but adequate. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"great for short stay"
friendly staff, convenient location, short walk to attractions, subway, and very easy to get cab right outside. Our room was in the back of hotel, so it was very quiet, which is a huge plus in NYC. Small room, but that was expected. Hotel in general was very quiet, low key. Great for a short stay on a budget, when most of your time is spent seeing attractions, […] eating out, and shopping. We booked the hotel for a one night trip to the city, and it was everything we wanted for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Roast in Peace"
We stayed here for the low price and convenient location - but it wasn't worth it. Our shoebox-size room was on a tiny airshaft -- no ventilation through the window, no day light whatsoever -- and there were two extremely hot hot water pipes in the room. We had to strip down to our underwear to avoid breaking into a sweat. Everything else is so-so, […] with noisy housekeeping leaving large bags of laundry in small hallways, etc. Good location, affordable, but you might want to spend a little more to get a better experience.
