"Staying at the Belnord"
The Belnord is a small hotel on the mid-west side of Manhattan. A variety of restaurants and a subway stop were nearby. The hotel was clean but small. Fortunately we didn't spend much time in the room. But hanging clothes (especially dresses) for more formal events was a challenge. Sometimes being in the room or using the bathroom felt claustrophobic. […] But the price was right and its served our needs. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"convenient, clean, small"
One ot the best bargains in town. Everything was in mint condition. Room just big enough to fit a bed, and a couple of night stands. Price was right.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location for me is its best attraction"
I stayed there because close to family but expensive for what you get - no place for your clothes, one night stand, not even a toilet paper holder.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hidden Gem on the Upper West Side!"
I love this hotel and stay here a lot. First thing to get past is the room size. It is SMALL. But it is clean, updated and very comfortable. Near the Subway (1 and BC); Central park West, TONS of great dining. Easy transportation to JFK (via subway) and really nice NYC hotel for the money. BUT THE ROOMS are small! (who stays in their rooms in NYC anyway?) […] I will be back again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was definitely small, but the staff was excellent, the room was clean, and the decor was very nice (the room even had crown molding!). If you need space... a desk at which to work or something like that, then this hotel would not work for you; otherwise, I highly recommend it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I enjoyed the quality of the decor. The room was very small.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean but small"
This hotel worked well for our needs. Reasonable cost, very clean, but very small. Although our room was clean, the room where our luggage was stored after we checked out had an offensive odor.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"close to subway, quiet,neighborhood."
You won't hear the usual sirens and car horns at Belnord. Room is very small but is clean, staff is helpful and polite. Many small restaurants on Broadway and Amsterdam for breakfast and lunch.feel pretty safe even getting back on subway after dinner.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Way too small for the price"
Our room was so small that there was barely a foot around the bed to move around. WiFi was horribly slow and virtually unusable but at least the air conditioning was working properly. For $250 a night, I expected more than a cooled closet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything was clean. The room was small. The air conditioning and the shower worked very well. The beds were the only disappointment. It was very cheap and uncomfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Safe and friendly neighborhood"
I was there on business. It was a convenient 20 minute cab ride in traffic to Mid-Town where I my meetings were held. The room and bathroom was very small. But it was clean. I was a little scared of the old comforter though...so I folded that up and placed in the corner. The surrounding area was very safe for walking and plenty of good restaurants on […] Columbus Ave. This hotel has zero amenities, so plan on only sleeping at this hotel. "tiniest rooms, thinnest walls"
tiniest rooms, thinnest walls, can hear everything in the hallway. Courteous staff, clean hotel but I wouldn't go back---hard to sleep with noise from the hall and neighboring rooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Exactly what I needed."
No frills, just a place to lay my head after a long day of meetings and such. The place is small, really small, but very affordable and nicely done. For the rate I paid one could expect something really frightening but everything from the lobby to the hallways to the rooms is is done well. "Nice, clean, convenient, and reasonably priced"
Belnord is a nice little hotel conveniently located a block from the 1-train. The rooms are small but renovated and always clean. The staff is friendly. I stay here every month when I visit NYC on business, you can't beat the quality/price combination.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Negatives: Blanket was uncomfortable, the cable TV service was lousy. Positives: Bathroom wasn't too small, good water pressure/temp in the showerGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fantastic room in excellent neighborhood"
This hotel is in a very residential part of town, so it's quiet but still close to fabulous restaurants and just one block from a major subway line (the 1). The room was a good size by New York standards and very clean. We loved the free wi-fi. The service was lacking at times but typically courteous with no major problems.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good choice of a budget hotel"
The Hotel is clean and well maintained. Convenient location with metro station on the nearby corner. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very small with a compact private bathrooms, but had all that needed to spend a night. If you know what to expect you will be satisfied. I'd stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tiny rooms for tiny folk - don't bring much luggag"
Title says it all. I was a single person staying in this room and barely had room for my bags. Hotel is in a good location (3 blocks west of Central Park), but rooms are crazy tiny!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent in every way..."
Excellent, clean convenient to subway, bus, and food stops. Short distance to Central park, Time square, Broadway right there.... Rooms like cruise ship size... But who stays in the room in New York!!!! In our book for again...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bang for your buck"
Who has $400 to spend on one night for a hotel?! Not this gal. This place was great. I was a bit hesitant at first booking sight unseen, but everything worked out well. The hotel lobby had charm, the staff was very nice and helpful. Our room was small, as expected, but we didn't need much. It was neat and very clean. We had free Wi-Fi and a TV with […] cable. The hotel is short walk to many restaurants on/near Broadway, and is VERY accessible via subway. The hotel is literally right across the way from the stop. No complaints - I'd stay here again. "Tiny room with no frills--good experience"
The room was tiny--10x10 maybe--with room for a double bed and 2 nightstands. Bathroom was also tiny/efficient. Also, there's no desk or workspace, and no place to sit except the bed. Closet had space for hanging clothes as well as shelves so you could unpack. I was pretty comfortable by myself but would have found it trying to fit 2 people in. That […] said, it was impeccably clean, very quiet at night and I LOVED the light-blocking window coverings. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I had asked for 2 beds I got one double bed. The room was very small. My brow was a dark alley. The paint in the bathroom ceiling was brown in chipping. "Economical Choice in Quiet Scenic part of NYC"
Overall I thought it was a good hotel to stay. I have never been to this part of NYC and it happened to be blocks from a meeting I had scheduled and didn't realize it! The room was small but neat, clean and efficient. I had problems with the television, it kept losing the signal and the Wi-Fi didn't work in the room. When I had to store my luggage before […] check in, I was surprised that they threw a key at you and you had to make your way to a back room by yourself to stow it instead of the bellman taking care of it for you. "teeny but terrific"
super convenient location near subway, x-town bus, central park - - micro-sized room, no closet, three hangers but clean, very well-cared for - - good bathroom and shower. Bring earplugs because you hear everything in the hallway. And don't plan on using the hotel wi-fi - - remarkably slow.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not bad on a budget, but bring earplugs"
The Belnord is a good option if you're looking for a no-frills, moderately priced, clean hotel with a private bathroom. And the location is wonderful - right down the street from Broadway with tons of great places to eat and shop. The downside is the noise. There are hardwood floors throughout the hotel, which is nice, but they amplify the sound of […] shoes clicking down the hall, squeaky carts being wheeled along, doors slamming shut, people talking, etc. The cleaning staff were having a loud conversation right outside the door, pretty late in the evening when we were tired from the day and wanting to get a little sleep. Also there were inexplicable clanging noises and what sounded like someone hitting a metal pipe with a wrench. Every night. It seemed to have something to do with the furnace turning on, because after that the room kind of vibrated. Not good. I will say that the front desk staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Our door keys didn't work and they were quick to replace them. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"nice clean room, friendly staff, nice location"
hotel was nice and clean, the staff was very nice, location was great and close to central park. the only problem I had with the room is that is was way to small. I know rooms are small in nyc but the room was only big enough for the bed and that's it, just enough room to get around to the other side of the bed. even the bathroom was tight , setting […] on the toilet and my knees were under the sink. I just wanted every one to know about that , we had the double bed room.so maybe just those are tight not sure. I just think that for $200 a night the room should b a lil bigger even though you don't spend much time there. I have spent much less for a bigger room in times square. so all in all the place was nice with a small room, I would probably stay somewhere else my next trip to nyc Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel works well for me for business. It is close to the subway and great dining options, thought there are none in the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tiny but affordable"
I knew we would be getting a small room for what we paid. That was not a surprise. There was literally 20 inches of space on each side of the bed. The bed was not tall enough from the floor to store our luggage under the bed so it was taking up one corner of the room. You had to make sure the bathroom or closet doors were closed so you could enter and […] exit the room. All of this was acceptable for what my wife and I needed. My one suggestion to the hotel management is simple. Please install a full length mirror on one of your doors so we could see how we were dressed before we went out for the night. They are pretty inexspensive especially if you order them in bulk. It is a small feature but a necessary one. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Small, great location, pray you have quite neighbo"
The Belnord is a great option if you are not going to be in the room a lot (they are tiny) and want a reasonably-priced hotel on the Upper West Side. I had no problem with noise, however I could hear when showers were turned on or off if other guests are loud you are in trouble.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not this place"
The room was not small; it was tiny. You could turn around but had to close the closet door to open the bathroom. The toilet ran repeatedly. Air and heat were good. "Terribke room, terrible service...had to leave and"
Aweful. First, we waited for ever as ine man tried to check in all the incoming customers. I was there with a relative, and we were supposed to have two beds in our room. We ended up with just one bed and the room was so small you could not even walk around the bed. We asked the front desk to give us the room we were supposed to have withtwo beds, and […] they had no interest in being accomodating at all. In fact, they were very rude about it. "Wouldn't go back"
It was so noisy, betweens guests running around at all hours and staff walking by with their radios blaring, I couldn't sleep all night. The hotel staff checking in seemed like they had better things to do than check me in. Wouldn't go back again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect location for our needs"
The Belnord is located within easy walking distance of Central Park, Riverside Park and the 86th St subway stop; a perfect Upper Westside location. It was sparkling clean and the bed and pillows very comfortable. We spend very little time in the room so the very small room was not a problem, but may pose a concern if your needs include wanting to sit […] somewhere other than on the bed. We will likely return to the Belnord on our next trip, but will ask for a street-side room for added light. The price was also believable in contrast to so many other NYC hotels. "Great lower cost hotel in manhattan"
Hotel is in a great location, very close to subway and central park. Staff were friendly and helpful and hotel was clean and tidy. Be aware that the rooms are very small. We would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"not for claustrophobe"
We were traveling light and we spent most of the day out of the room, so that was good. The room was comfortable and clean. If you have a lot of suitcases, that could be a problem because the room fits a bed and its bed stands and that's it.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Still and excellent option for NYC"
The Hote is well located close to comerce, bars and restaurants and morre importantly to the sub-way. The faciliaties and furniture are relatively new and of a high standard. Rooms are a bit small, so bear n mind if you plan to travel with a lot of luggage. Will bok it again for sure.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was a disappointing experience. First off, this hotel makes you sign a contract when you check in saying that they will bill you $75 dollars if you don't check out by 12 noon. There are no amenities. No vending machines, no ice machine. The computers are extremely slow (which made my flight check-in more complicated than it had to be.) This hotel […] 'nickles and dimes' you for EVERYTHING. (they want to get as much money out of you for the least service possible.) The staff (all staff, front desk, cleaning people, etc) is extremely apathetic. They are unhappy and act as if they're working in a prison. Upside is: The rooms are small, but clean. The hotel is right by a major subway stop right off of Broadway. Unfortunately, there aren't many restaurants, or even good delicatessens close by. Would NOT recommend this hotel!
