"Quiet stay in NYC"
Room was very clean; bathroom was roomy. Sleep was not disturbed by noisy neighbors! Recommend the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not small - Cozy! (okay, small)."
We've stayed in smaller rooms in Europe, and once we got used to the space by being efficient -- i.e. making believe we were in a boat cabin -- it was fine. Private bath, not much of a view (just the back of apartment buildings), and one elevator -- plus a mysterious "kitchen" behind doors in the hallway which I suppose could be communally used for […] coffee, storing things in the fridge -- the Belnord was very clean, the rooms were serviced reliably, and the front desk friendly. And the price can't be beat, at least not for this quality. Being the upper west side, there were plenty of choices for meals -- we tended to go to the dinner three short blocks away, or the famous deli about a block away. There were several chain drugstores nearby and the subway was a half block away. Yeah, this place works if you have realistic expectations. It was not small, it was "cozy!" "Great location - teensy rooms"
My room was clean and quiet, and ridiculously small. It was just big enough for a double bed with about 18" of clearance on two sides. I had to shut the bathroom door to be able to use the sink. Great upper west side location, a few steps from Broadway. It's OK if you're going to be out and about and not lounging in your room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Other than a brief elevator outage and small room, I enjoyed my stay. Room was clean, cool and quiet. Staff was nice. Great location for my business trip as it was near the subway. Good restaurants within very short walking distance from hotel. I would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"small but great"
They provided everything I expected of them. Easy check in and check out, small but comfortable and clean rooms at a great location and a good deal.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Liked everything about the hotel except the rooms were very very small. The bathroom was also extremely small. We did not spend lots of time in the room because the week we were there we were seeing NY. But the hotel was very clean and the staff was pleasant. The location was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Value for Location/New York"
This hotel is kind of unique and difficult to assign an absolute number. Someone else had posted that the rooms were cruise ship size small. That was generous. Our room actually measured 10'x12'. With a queen bed there was hardly an space for two rolling size suitcases. BUT it was very clean with hard wood floors, nice tiled bathroom (but small) with […] up-to-date fixtures, nice shower, good bed. Biggest complaint was the lack of a closet or just a little hanging space or a few hooks on the wall. Anywhere to hang up your clothes from wearing that day. There were two hooks on the inside of the bathroom door. Location is great for the upper west side of New York. Subway is close, as is the buses. Nice selections of restaurants in the area. Very handy and priced well for a base for New York sightseeing. We would return. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small but nice and clean"
This hotel was very nice for the money. Very clean, convenient and perfect for a few nights stay. It is just off the subway so it's easy to get around.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location, but very small room"
This hotel was perfectly fine for what I needed. It was real close to the 1Train and the neighborhood was good to walk around. This hotel has the narrowest halls and smallest rooms that I've ever seen! My room was 8 x10 with only a double bed and cost $250. But it was comfortable, the AC worked great and it was convenient. "Small but worked out well"
I was a very concerned when I first saw the size of the room, it was by far the smallest room I have ever stayed in. The biggest issue for me was that there was no place to sit nor work other than on the bed, which is not comfortable for me. That said, I requested a room with a workspace. The front desk folks were wonderful and helpful at every opportunity […] and they upgraded me to a larger room (relatively speaking) that served my purposes just fine. I found the bed to be comfortable and clean as was the bathroom though barely a bathroom shelf for products so pack lightly. I loved the location and the staff were all friendly and accommodating. There are NO extras to speak of (having to step out each morning for my coffee took some adjustment but there are several options within 1/2 block) but you should be able to find anything you need close by in any direction. So, if you can adjust to the size of the room, it is a bargain and worth the stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Small rooms but great location"
It worked well for me. The staff were excellent, the location is steps from the metro and there are several grocery and restaurants nearby. The rooms are small but there is flat screen TV, free wifi and your own bathroom. Would stay there againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Plusses and Minuses"
The Belnord Hotel is in a great location. It is located in uptown Manhattan, just steps away from a subway stop and just blocks away from central parks. There are great restaurants in the immediate neighborhood. My room was small; the bed was a bit uncomfortable, and there was no workout room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
nice hotel, clean, and safe. I stayed one night in one of the refurbished rooms. It was much nicer than the other room I stayed in. The staff was very nice and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very clean and well-located hotel. Friendly staff. The room was tiny, literally no room to turn around. So if you don't plan to spend any time in your room except sleeping, this place works well. Very near the 1 subway, so it's great for the west side.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Staying at the Belnord"
The Belnord is a small hotel on the mid-west side of Manhattan. A variety of restaurants and a subway stop were nearby. The hotel was clean but small. Fortunately we didn't spend much time in the room. But hanging clothes (especially dresses) for more formal events was a challenge. Sometimes being in the room or using the bathroom felt claustrophobic. […] But the price was right and its served our needs. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hidden Gem on the Upper West Side!"
I love this hotel and stay here a lot. First thing to get past is the room size. It is SMALL. But it is clean, updated and very comfortable. Near the Subway (1 and BC); Central park West, TONS of great dining. Easy transportation to JFK (via subway) and really nice NYC hotel for the money. BUT THE ROOMS are small! The room was definitely small, but the staff was excellent, the room was clean, and the decor was very nice (the room even had crown molding!). If you need space... a desk at which to work or something like that, then this hotel would not work for you; otherwise, I highly recommend it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I enjoyed the quality of the decor. The room was very small.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice for the price. Very convenient."
The rooms were small but adequate. The morning staff was very nice. The hotel is in a safe location and convenient if you want to be on the upper west sideGenuine Expedia guest review
"Clean but small"
This hotel worked well for our needs. Reasonable cost, very clean, but very small. Although our room was clean, the room where our luggage was stored after we checked out had an offensive odor.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"close to subway, quiet,neighborhood."
You won't hear the usual sirens and car horns at Belnord. Room is very small but is clean, staff is helpful and polite. Many small restaurants on Broadway and Amsterdam for breakfast and lunch.feel pretty safe even getting back on subway after dinner.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Does the job."
Clean. Does the job if you're there to tour the City. Very updated.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Way too small for the price"
Our room was so small that there was barely a foot around the bed to move around. WiFi was horribly slow and virtually unusable but at least the air conditioning was working properly. For $250 a night, I expected more than a cooled closet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything was clean. The room was small. The air conditioning and the shower worked very well. The beds were the only disappointment. It was very cheap and uncomfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Upper west side hotel NY"
Overall the hotel was very nice, the staff friendly and helpful, The only issue was the room size, for one person it would have been fine except for the size of the bathroom sink which was smaller then a bar sink. I shared the room with my elderly mother and she had a hard time maneuvering in the bathroom.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Tiny-roomed hotel in good location."
One's introduction to the hotel is dragging all of one's belongings up six large, high stairs oneself. I am 73+ years old, and I barely managed it. I mentioned it to the young man at the desk; he said that someone would have helped me, had I left my luggage on the street, and come inside to tell him. I wouldn't take that chance. The room is tiny, the […] door barely scrapes by the bed, but a small person like myself could manage the whole situation well. There is no closet, no hangers. The air conditioner is v. loud, but works well. The room and bathroom were clean. The television worked. The bathroom was tiny, but everything worked, and the shower was great----definitely the highlight of the whole experience. There is little soundproofing. I was awakened by people in hallway twice, and the persons next door to me were taking showers, (and the man was singing in the shower), and keeping up a conversation for over an hour between midnight and one p.m. One tried not to hear everything, but one could. The pillows, and bed, were comfortable. If I were to ever stay there again, I would have kept the air conditioner droning all night, and put a pillow over my head to sleep. There is no coffee machine, as there would be NO place to put it! The staff was nice. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Rooms too small for more than one"
Rooms so tiny, halls so narrow, that two normal-sized persons have difficulty passing one another, never mind sharing a bed or bathroom. No desk or reading chair. Asked the desk clerk if larger rooms were available, and was told that almost all rooms are the same size.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Safe and friendly neighborhood"
I was there on business. It was a convenient 20 minute cab ride in traffic to Mid-Town where I my meetings were held. The room and bathroom was very small. But it was clean. I was a little scared of the old comforter though...so I folded that up and placed in the corner. "tiniest rooms, thinnest walls"
tiniest rooms, thinnest walls, can hear everything in the hallway. Courteous staff, clean hotel but I wouldn't go back---hard to sleep with noise from the hall and neighboring rooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Exactly what I needed."
No frills, just a place to lay my head after a long day of meetings and such. The place is small, really small, but very affordable and nicely done. For the rate I paid one could expect something really frightening but everything from the lobby to the hallways to the rooms is is done well. "Nice, clean, convenient, and reasonably priced"
Belnord is a nice little hotel conveniently located a block from the 1-train. The rooms are small but renovated and always clean. The staff is friendly. I stay here every month when I visit NYC on business, you can't beat the quality/price combination.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Negatives: Blanket was uncomfortable, the cable TV service was lousy. Positives: Bathroom wasn't too small, good water pressure/temp in the showerGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fantastic room in excellent neighborhood"
This hotel is in a very residential part of town, so it's quiet but still close to fabulous restaurants and just one block from a major subway line (the 1). The room was a good size by New York standards and very clean. We loved the free wi-fi. The service was lacking at times but typically courteous with no major problems.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not worth my money spent."
The room was a shoe box and I felt claustrophobic. The matress was old and could feel the springs. Expedia said I could request a fridge and the staff said they lied to me because they dont offer that. Staff was rude and short with me.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Small but just right!"
The room was very small, just about big enough for the full-size bed and the space to walk around it. It was however, very neat and tidy. It was tastefully decorated and well organized. The Belnord is a great location for seeing the museums on the Upper West Side. The hotel is very clean and impressed the bathrooms are updated. The evening front desk was not all friendly . "Tiny room with no frills--good experience"
The room was tiny--10x10 maybe--with room for a double bed and 2 nightstands. Bathroom was also tiny/efficient. Also, there's no desk or workspace, and no place to sit except the bed. Closet had space for hanging clothes as well as shelves so you could unpack. I was pretty comfortable by myself but would have found it trying to fit 2 people in.
