clean hotel/ The room (size of closet at home...) was very clean and recently updated looking. Did not use hotel services so have no idea how good or bad...very comfy bed and bathroom was spotless. Thx!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel for a SHORT stay"
This is a hotel to check into if you're just staying for a few nights, no more than a week. It doesn't offer meals or even a personal mini fridge, the television channels are limited, and the Wi-Fi connection Is just "OK." The biggest con is that the rooms are SO small, so if you're planning on staying past 5-7 days it will be an uncomfortable experience. […] Still, the hotel is located in a very convenient place--lots of restaurants & drugstores in the area and a short subway ride away from Times Square--and the neighborhood is safe to walk at night. The cleaning service is timely and commendable. Again, this hotel's fine for short stays but less than ideal for longer visits. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cozy and quiet, great location"
This hotel is great for a solo traveler. The room was cute and cozy, and had actual AC that worked, not a noisy window unit. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is fabulous, near the subway and buses, Riverside Park, cafes and restaurants. Great deal for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not where I would stay again"
I think for the amount of money they charge they should provide more service. The rooms were so tiny your could barely step any direction without hitting something. The bathroom was the size of a stamp, and it had a shower and no tub definitely no counter space. The rooms didn't even have ice buckets. Anyway I know I'll never stay there again and I […] certainly wouldn't recommend it. Except for the front desk there was not service at all, when we arrived they had my name written incorrectly and when I tried to have him correct it, I was told it didn't matter. "Minimal but fine"
Tiny rooms (as everyone else has said), some without even a closet or toilet-paper hanger bolted to the bathroom wall. However, the bed, duvet pillows were wonderful. Very clean. The staff was fine. It's very easy to hear any noise in the hall or clomping around upstairs. I was up very late one night, anyway, and someone was banging on a door across […] the hall in the wee hours to be let in. I imagine some others were awoken. I had to open my door, tell him what time it was, ask him to stop and suggest he go to the lobby to get another key-card. Some cigarette smoke did seem to waft down through the ceiling, but not for long. Basic cable only, so if you want to watch a movie or anything good late at night after you've returned from your day, you probably can't, which is a minor consideration. A/C pretty good, could be better. All in all a very good deal for the money, unless you book at very popular times, when they jack up the prices. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean and cozy"
The staff was friendly and helpful at check-in and departure. The room was immaculate, and the bathroom was pristine. Yes, the room was small, but who cares? The price was right. The hotel is about a two minute walk to the subway. I would definitely stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nicely updated room."
When we arrived we were a little early so we parked the car at the garage around the block. After checking out we were aloud to leave our bags to go and enjoy some more of our stay before leaving to go home.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very clean, but beware community luggage room"
This hotel was perfect for my needs. My room was very small, but very efficient. I did not like the community luggage room. If you arrive early or wish to store your bag for a few hours after checking out, the front desk gives you a key to a community luggage room where anyone who enters has access to your belongings. This made me extremely uncomfortable. […] Thankfully, I had a friend who let me put my bag in his car. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"great price in a small room!"
This place is in a great neighborhood that's not touristy but feels very NYey. I loved this hotel especially because it's inexpensive, but you don't have to compromise on a safe neighborhood, or cleanliness. The only compromise was the small room, which I knew going in. I value cleanliness and location. This is perfect for a short stay where you're […] not planning on spending a lot of time in the room (unless of course you'll be in the bed). "Convenient location near subway in upper east side"
I spent a long while looking for a place in my budget with good reviews before choosing this hotel, and in the end was not disappointed. The room was basic and small (I didn't expect anything else though) but clean and well presented (if a little "quaint" in decoration). The location for me was the deal-breaker - just a short walk from a subway stop, […] and in an area with a good mixture of interesting restaurants (also walkable to the boat basin cafe...). Check-in staff were curt but efficient. Internet connection was stable and a good speed. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"For the price, it was nice!"
We spent two nights at the Belnord when our previously booked apartment (booked through Expedia!) fell through. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. The street was quiet, and there's a small but very well-stocked supermarket a block away, as well as a number of restaurants. The room was quite small. One bedside table, no desk or chair, just […] enough room to walk around the double bed. The bathroom was also small, but everything was immaculate and worked well. We moved to a fancier (and more expensive) hotel after our two nights at the Belnord, but it served its purpose, and at a very low (for NYC) price. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"If the room were only a little larger!"
Pricey, given the size of the room. A $200 plus room without a single chair or even small table -- of course, because the room is so small. To open my laptop I had to go to the starbucks in the neighborhood. Hey, some Japanese will think the room is spacious!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room is tiny, literally fits only the bed, but perfect if you just need to sleep there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Knock before you enter!"
The hotel is not bad, good location. Got a parking spot right out in front, it was the last one which was perfect. They checked us in no problems, but they did however give us a room key to one that was already rented to someone else. We swiped and were excited to see how nice the room was, only to witness some over weight Joe in his undies lying motionless […] in the dark with the tv on. We laughed at first, but then on the elevator ride down I thought the guy might be dead. Considering we laughed kind of loud and he didn't move an inch. Arrived at reception and explained the mistake they had made, he was apologetic and all was well again. He reassigned our room to 108 which was quite small as others have noted. The front door seemed almost non existent as far as sound went, you could hear people walk by as if it were a booth dining or something. The night we chose were not full of drunks and animals so everyone was considerate in that regard. All in all, would stay again but if I find a better little bit bigger place for around 20-30 dollar difference I'll be going there. The price was close to $160 with taxes. "Good for short stay"
Belnord is a very small hotel located in a very good neighborhood on the West side. Rooms are extremely small but clean. If you are a business traveler I would not recommend staying here as there is no room to work but if you are just here for a night or two and don't expect to spend any time in the hotel other than to sleet then Belnord will work. […] I would stay her again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My stay at the Belnord was very nice. The room was very small but we adjusted after the second day of being there. The cleaning staff were very nice. But the front desk staff were unfriendly. I would definitely recommend it to others.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent, clean hotel, good for 1 night"
Great place to stay for 1 or 2 nights. Room is clean, but super tiny. If you're planning to just sleep here and explore NYC during the day - then it's perfect!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Just the Right Fit in the Upper West Side"
We needed a place to stay while getting my daughter moved-in at her school for the summer. The Belnord was one of Trivago's hotels, and it turned out to be a great fit.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient, but small"
For a single person, my double room was adequate, but I can't imagine sharing the tiny space with another person. The location is super convenient in a great neighborhood--right near the 1 subway line. The front desk was efficient, but not overly friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cozy and Quiet"
A perfect upper-west-side Manhattan hideout with cordial staff, clean lobby, room, and hallways, situated on a quiet residential street in a neighborhood populated with several outstanding, reasonably-priced restaurants. The room itself was rather small but, in the absence of a chair and desk, I finally learned how to use my laptop on my lap! Likely […] the best price available in this area of the City. As other reviews say, it is small, but it is clean, friendly, and very tolerable. Close to subways, many different food choices, Central Park, and museums. Would definitely return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small but Nice"
It was a VERY tiny room but if you only need a place to sleep it's perfect. They don't have extra supplies like toothpaste (they just have shampoo and conditioner) so don't forget your essentials. Overall it was a nice hotel and it's very close to Central Park.Genuine Expedia guest review
While the Belnord's rooms are small, they are very clean and comfortable. Plus the hotel is in a terrific and vibrant section of the Upper West Side. Excellent value for the money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was perfect for my needs, as I was the only one staying in the room. For a couple or larger number it would be quite cramped. The room was clean and efficient, but not spacious. The bed took up most of the space, with room for a night stand on one side. There was a shelf below the wall-mounted TV and a folding stand for suitcase underneath. […] More than one suitcase would be possible, but difficult. Bathroom was small, but worked fine for my needs. Location is quite close to the stop at 86th Street for the #1 subway. Great location and free Wi-Fi, but very very small room. Even though you're in NY and you don't plan to stay in the room for long, it's still very small to be confortable when you're there.Genuine Expedia guest review
Our toilet over flowed and flooded our room. We never received an apology and we had to ask for a new room. We asked if they could wash our clothes that got wet in our room, they told us to ask after 5pm, it was 10 at the time. We took our clothes down at night and had to argue to get our clothes washed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not small - Cozy! (okay, small)."
We've stayed in smaller rooms in Europe, and once we got used to the space by being efficient -- i.e. making believe we were in a boat cabin -- it was fine. Private bath, not much of a view (just the back of apartment buildings), and one elevator -- plus a mysterious "kitchen" behind doors in the hallway which I suppose could be communally used for […] coffee, storing things in the fridge -- the Belnord was very clean, the rooms were serviced reliably, and the front desk friendly. And the price can't be beat, at least not for this quality. Being the upper west side, there were plenty of choices for meals -- we tended to go to the dinner three short blocks away, or the famous deli about a block away. There were several chain drugstores nearby and the subway was a half block away. Yeah, this place works if you have realistic expectations. It was not small, it was "cozy!" The Belnord is a no frills hotel, but our room was very clean, as was the whole hotel. The room is small, but we didn't mind living out of our suitcases. The bathroom was newly remodeled.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location - teensy rooms"
My room was clean and quiet, and ridiculously small. It was just big enough for a double bed with about 18" of clearance on two sides. I had to shut the bathroom door to be able to use the sink. Great upper west side location, a few steps from Broadway. It's OK if you're going to be out and about and not lounging in your room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Other than a brief elevator outage and small room, I enjoyed my stay. Room was clean, cool and quiet. Staff was nice. Great location for my business trip as it was near the subway. Good restaurants within very short walking distance from hotel. I would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good Value for Location/New York"
This hotel is kind of unique and difficult to assign an absolute number. Someone else had posted that the rooms were cruise ship size small. That was generous. Our room actually measured 10'x12'. With a queen bed there was hardly an space for two rolling size suitcases. BUT it was very clean with hard wood floors, nice tiled bathroom (but small) with […] up-to-date fixtures, nice shower, good bed. Biggest complaint was the lack of a closet or just a little hanging space or a few hooks on the wall. Anywhere to hang up your clothes from wearing that day. There were two hooks on the inside of the bathroom door. Location is great for the upper west side of New York. Subway is close, as is the buses. Nice selections of restaurants in the area. Very handy and priced well for a base for New York sightseeing. We would return. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

This hotel was perfectly fine for what I needed. It was real close to the 1Train and the neighborhood was good to walk around. "Small but worked out well"
I was a very concerned when I first saw the size of the room, it was by far the smallest room I have ever stayed in. The biggest issue for me was that there was no place to sit nor work other than on the bed, which is not comfortable for me. That said, I requested a room with a workspace. The front desk folks were wonderful and helpful at every opportunity […] and they upgraded me to a larger room (relatively speaking) that served my purposes just fine. I found the bed to be comfortable and clean as was the bathroom though barely a bathroom shelf for products so pack lightly. I loved the location and the staff were all friendly and accommodating. There are NO extras to speak of (having to step out each morning for my coffee took some adjustment but there are several options within 1/2 block) but you should be able to find anything you need close by in any direction. So, if you can adjust to the size of the room, it is a bargain and worth the stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location, comfy quarters"
After reading the reviews, I decided to give this place a try. I'm a small dude and my GF is about the same size as me. The rooms couldn't be THAT small, right? So if you've ever been on a cruise, the rooms are about the size of interior cabin room. Small, your own bathroom and a small closet. We barely had room to put our suitcases anywhere. However, […] we were there to sleep and shower. The location makes up for the size of the room. The Belnord is located right next to the 86th st station on the 1 line and 3 blocks from the park and the 86th st station for the C, D lines. It's near the Natural History Museum, Shake Shack (yum!), Stand Up NY and a Banksy painting. There's also a bank on the corner. The location made it worth it for us. If you're there for R&R or on business and wanting to sprawl out and relax, maybe not the best place. But if you're there to see the City, this place works. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
