"GREAT HOTEL FOR THE PRICE"
We selected this hotel based on the proximity to the Beacon Theater and for the low price. We were pleasantly surprised that the hotel was nicely decorated, squeaky clean and had an incredibly nice staff. The room itself was only slightly larger than the queen bed but that was fine for the limited amount of time we would be spending in the room. The […] bed was comfortable and had a pillow selection. The bathroom was modern and very clean but small. There was no bathtub, just a shower stall. And I imagine if a person was extremely overweight they might have a hard time because the sink and toilet were VERY close together. This, however, could have just been the case in the room they gave us. There is not a lot of soundproofing in the hotel. There was a couple across the hall that were talking loudly. At 2:30 a.m. we finally knocked on their door and politely asked them to keep it down. At 3:00 a.m. I went to the lobby and requested a new room as our plea went unheeded. The desk clerk was very apologetic, Security appeared in an instant and went up to speak to the couple. In the meantime we were given a key to another room. They could not have been nicer. There were no amenities in the room ~ no refrigerator, ice bucket or coffee machine. But with all the great coffee shops in NYC who cares! All in all, yes, we would stay there again. "Room is very deceiving...too small for price"
Although the hotel and the room were clean was shocked at how small the room was...could not even turn around without hitting a wall. Would not stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A Great No Frills Hotel"
This hotel is a little less expensive than your average NYC hotel. The rooms are about the smallest I've ever seen but they are clean and new. The hotel is in a great neighborhood (UpperWest Side) and I prefer UWS to craziness of midtown...Hotel common areas are quite nice and the staff was great. I reccommend this hotel to the budget traveler. there […] are really no cheap rooms in NYC, for the city this is about the best you will find. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small, bare essentials and available."
The location was ok, the room was TINY... no desk, no table, no real space for luggage Room was clean, I checked for bed bugs, they seemed shocked when I asked about it. TV did not work first night, they came in and fixed in the next am. Ironing board and iron upon request (both dirty) and the iron may have ruined my good blouse... as dirty water came […] out. I would not stay at this hotel next time. No ice machine either. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"There are better places to stay in the area."
The rooms were soooooo small that we had to put our bags in the bathroom. There was only 1 bed side table. Had to put glasses on the floor!!!!! The AC cycled LOUDLY on and off all night despite turning it to the OFF position and kept us awake. I did write management, but they didn't seem to take my comments seriouslyGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean, well-run, tiny rooms"
I planned to stay for one night and that is what I did. It is located on the West side in mid-town Manhattan which was just where I wanted to be, but location might not be right for everyone. Hotel and room were clean, bed was comfortable, staff was pleasant. But be aware that rooms are VERY small. I had a single and the room was the size of a very […] small walk-in closet (about 24" between bed and walls on 3 sides, it had a window that faced an alley. Bathroom was small but clean and nice. It suited my purpose, but I wouldn't want to stay for multiple nights. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A ship cabin on West 87th Street"
While the overall cleanliness and staff attention were adequate to good, I cannot get over the price of a room ($250+) that was smaller than a modestly priced cabin at sea. While I understand that a trip to New York City should be focused on the activities one engages in outside of the hotel, I cannot justify the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small but great for one night"
The room was extraordinarily small. Only wide enough for a bed and two small end tables which literally touched both walls of the bedroom. The distance from the foot of the bed to the other wall was no more than 3 feet. Definitely wouldn't recommend this room for more than one person. Otherwise, the room and bathroom were very nice and clean. I would […] certainly stay here again for a single night given it was much cheaper than most other nearby hotels. "Tiny Room Good Enough in Great Location"
This hotel specializes in tiny but fully functional rooms and seems to cater to Spanish language speakers. The room was very clean and comfortable for one person - two would have been a squeeze, not just because of the double bed, but because the room was not much bigger than the bed. But you can't beat $250 for W 87th street, one block from the subway, […] good food, shopping and ambience. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"near the beacon theater."
Had a nice weekend in NY. Slight mix up with overbooking at the hotel. We were able to have our reserved accommodations. The room had been done over and was very clean. We would stay again if were going to be in the upper west side. It is to far if your trip is to time square.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, small but clean rooms."
Well situated in the Upper West Side, the Belnord is typical of a European business hotel. Rooms are small but clean with a private bathroom. Prices were very good for NYC.Genuine Expedia guest review
This is the worst hotel that I have ever stayed. The room was so small that there was no place for luggage. We were told that the hotel used a parking garage down the street for guest parking and the hotel had an arrangement for a reduced parking rate. The parking garage was full and the manager refused to honor the quoted $37 daily rate for parking. […] We found a garage on our own and paid $52 daily. The manager told us that it was not his problem if the garage was full and he could do nothing about it. We were charged for two additional nights and again the manager told us that even though it was a computer error, he could not make an adjusent and we were charged for the two extra nights, Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was a bit of a surprise! Very European in style..small rooms..but very clean and comfy. I was very comfortable, and though not 'modern' or 'plush' TV was new, wifi (free) good..perfect for a few nights and not wasting money. Concierge staff were lovely. I'd come back for sure!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is in a great location. Staff was friendly. Rooms are small but comfortable. I will definitely stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Terrible hotel. Terrible staff"
Hotel staff was the worst i have ever encountered. First floor of hotel smelled like raw sewage. The had wall flowers throughout the hallway to disguise the smell, but that made it worse. Do yourself a favor and pay a little more and don't stay here.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Affordable but small"
Affordable, clean hotel in upper West Side. Very small room with little shelf room but entirely adequate for the one night I needed. Staff helpful and efficient. Affordable for NYC and centrally located.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel served its purpose of just a place to sleep but it was one very small room and the the bathroom was even smaller. When I say small room I mean only a bed could fit in the room. The staff was friendly and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Tiny but Inexpensive and Clean Hotel Room"
If you're like me, when you visit New York your hotel room is just a pit stop or a place where you sleep. This hotel is ideal for the active traveller. It's tiny, with no scenic view to speak of, but it's clean and relatively inexpensive.Genuine Expedia guest review
Room was okay only thing is had to pay a 200 dollar deposit and it would be refunded but would take days to be back in my accountGenuine Expedia guest review
The room was tiny, but very comfortable, quiet and well located. Staff was friendly. This is no frills but great for one person on a budget.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice clean rooms and facility. Bathroom very nice and clean. New plumbing. Very compact - no extras, but lovely. No desk, table or chairs, but a night stand and closet. Very small, which I knew ahead of time - check out the photos of the rooms before booking. A double isn't a two bed room, but a room with a double bed., etc.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cute NYC boutique hotel"
This Upper West Side prewar building has all the architectural details - marble stairs and bath, beautiful wood moldings - and the typical miniature, but comfy, room + bath experience. My room had a full bath (with tub and shower) and the staff kept things very clean each day.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Small but clean"
Hotel room was the size of a Small laundry room super tiny. Only a bed and nightstand barely enough room to turn around in. However very neat clean a great place to rest your head beds were comfy. This place is small but adequate for a budget pieceGenuine Expedia guest review
"Perfectly fine for business"
This hotel is very clean, quiet for New York, and staff are friendly. Well-priced for New York and good location on UWS. Rooms are small but hot water worked (cannot be said about all peers in that price range) and cleanliness was excellent, so what else do you want?Genuine Expedia guest review
"A convenient hotel for the train stations and for"
The stay was a good value convenient and worth probably a return tripGenuine Expedia guest review
"Too expensive for what you get"
For $262/night, I would think you'd get a cup of coffee. Overall, clean and quiet, but absolutely no extras and only a full-sized bed. For $262, I believe I will look around for somewhere that offers a few little extras (coffee, shower cup, queen-sized bed).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Price, Clean. Great for tourists."
The rooms were very small but clean and perfect if you are just there to sleep and get ready. The hotel is one block from a subway station that can take you anywhere you want to go. Central Park is a quick three block walk. The Natural History Museum is within walking distance as well. Great places to eat all around the hotel. If you need something […] quick/good/affordable to eat there is a 24 hour dinner right around the corner. If you forgot anything, there is a 24 store right there as well. I would stay here again. My only complaint is the comforters on the beds. Time to update. They looked very old! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"1 Night at the hotel"
The room: The corridor to the room smelled of urine (even thought there are odor dispensers, they did not help). The room itself was so tiny we could not find place to open our normal size suitcase. The so called double bad was so small no idea how they called it a double. The bathroom was again, so tiny you could not turn around without banging against […] the basin. The towels were put on the toilet bowel (which was disgusting) but there was just no other place to put them so that what they did. no place to hang the used towels wasn't surprising giving everything else. Getting to the hotel: We got to the hotel at 13:00. We asked to get the room even though check in was at 14:00. The hotel clerk said it was impossible to get it before time. We than asked to keep our luggage in keeping, The clerk gave us a key and said: "The luggage in in the back, put your stuff there but we don't take any responsibility" Walking in the corridor with a suitcase proved to be almost impossible the corridor is so narrow. The smell in the corridor was of urine. The luggage room was just a dark room with lots of other people luggage, not protected or guarded. Ordering a taxi to the airport: When getting to the hotel, we asked for a taxi to newark. they clerk said it would be 70$+20$toll road. I remembered it being cheaper than that but did not argue. The next day morning I heard him saying to a lady it was 75$ total to the same airport, same time. I guess they charge by looks. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Teeny Room but Great Location"
We were in NYC for a concert at the Beacon Theatre, which was easily in walking distance, as were many great restaurant & bar options. When I opened the door to the room, it missed the end of the bed by only an inch or two, which was a surprise. Our flat screen TV didn't get a signal , but we didn't bother having them fix it, tho they offered; we weren't […] in the room much. The bathroom was also cozy but a decent size, and both the room and bath were very clean. We and 6 other friends were staying at the hotel, and tho we joked about the room sizes, we all decided that for a short stay, the price, location and cleanliness were all definitely worth it; we would do it again. The hotel even had a small screen in the lobby with a rolling list of the status of outgoing flights at the nearby airports, so we didn't have to check online ourselves...a nice touch. If you're a family, this place is not for you, unless they have adjoining rooms available...way too small. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Too much ATTITUDE!"
Most of the rooms are just a few inches bigger than a double bed - literally! It was quite a shock when we first walked in. It was very difficult maneuvering around and fitting ourselves and our luggage in. Once we got over the shock, it really would have been "do-able" considering the good location, the price, and the fact that it was clean (though […] VERY old), had it not been for the extremely rude and unfriendly desk clerks, topped off with how untruthful they were at times. That was totally unacceptable. When asked questions by guests, the usual response was, "Go to our website." What the heck did they have to do behind that counter? Oh, I know, I heard discussions about what they were having for lunch and other personal conversations - very unprofessional. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"NIce Compact room"
Overall the hotel was very nice. It was well located , clean, new condition, and a responsive staff. The only issue was the room size but as it was advertised as "compact" I can hardly say I was surprised...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, shabby room."
Small room and full sized bed not a problem. Thin sheets and extremely old and shabby bedspread and window curtains were very sad looking. Upgrade those, and the room's appeal would have dramatically improved.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Clean and comfortable but small rooms"
I decided to try this hotel as a less expensive option to the typical rates in the Times Square area. Overall I was very pleased and would stay there again. The room was tiny, which was fine for a solo traveler but definitely not suited for a family and even a couple might find it tight. But for a clean and comfortable resting place for someone who […] plans to be out and about most of the time, it was perfect. Unfortunately no handicapped access that I was aware of, with steep steps leading to the entry. Very convenient to the subway and a wide variety of food choices. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A Perfect Value"
For one night, in Manhattan, with morning meetings two blocks away, it was tough to beat the Belnord for value. It was the least expensive, yet very cozy and friendly enough. There are NO bells and whistles (unless VERY slow free WiFi is considered), but again if it is a quick stop on the Upper West Side you need to satisfy I do not think it's possible […] to beat the rate for comfort value ratio..Rooms are very small, but well kept and updated. 86th subway stop for 1 train is less than half a block. "Clean and Nice but Small"
I've stayed in New York city before so I expected the hotel room to be small but I was unprepared for how small the room was. Fortunately we didn't spend a lot of time in the room and spent most of our time exploring New York. Overall I will say that the room was acceptable and served its purpose but be prepared for a very tiny room.Genuine Expedia guest review
This was my second stay at Belnord. Location and neighborhood are excellent. Front desk people very courteous and helpful. Double rooms however are too small for 2; definitely pay the extra for two twin beds; those r ooms are bigger and allow room to open suitcases more easily. Thanks RitaGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We thought that our stay was fine. The room was very clean and it was quiet. The front desk really weren't very helpful. The room was very small, but the location was good. The people at front desk acted as if you were bothering them. No food or extra,s for the money. Very expensive for what you received for services. .Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Most rooms are very small. For a single bed, measure out an 8' x 10' room and make sure you are comfortable before booking a room. Would be OK if by yourself on a budget and want to stay close to a destination on the upper west side. Hardwood floors were nice, as well as the free Wi-Fi.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Little Manhattan Hotel"
Great place to stay in Manhattan. It's close to the subway, a only a few blocks away from Riverside Drive Park and Central Park. The room was small (this is NYC where space is a premium), but very clean and well organized so the best use was made of available space.Genuine Expedia guest review
I found the room to be all but comfortable and clean. Perfect for a three night stay in the city. I like the neighborhood and would definitely stay at the Belnord again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"good small hotel"
Room was very small but clean and had everything you might need. One problem is there are several steps (5-6) to get to the lobby. No one helps you with your luggage and the door is heavy. Otherwise it is a practical place to stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My girlfriend and I were going to NYC to see a play and found this hotel on your website. Not only was it a great price but a great location on the Upper West Side. It was clean and the staff courteous. Located only a block away from the subway, it was so easy getting to and from the Theater District. When we realized we were near some of the places […] where "You Got Mail" was filmed we decided to go and check them out. Went to Cafe Lalo, where Meg Ryan waits for Tom Hanks with the book and rose and to Riverside Park where the final scene of the movie was shot. We had a fun time of it. I go to NYC 4-5 times a year, my son lives there, and I've stayed in a lot of hotels. I'd stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
