Stayed here 3 years ago and found it to be adequate, this timee however we were very disappointed. Our party had booked two standard rooms when we walked into the rooms we were shocked at how small they were so small there wasn`t enough room to bring in the two suitcases let alone unpack them. The room was so cramped even a single person would have felt claustraphopic. We complained and were offered an upgrade at $20 per night which we had to accept. this was supposed to be a luxury room, it most definately was not!! This was a bigger room with two beds which was agreeable but the room was dark and dingy the furnishings shabby, the telephone did not work the taps on the wash basin broken and the electricity kept going off. In fact I could not say anything good about my stay this time. The hotel is tired and run down and needs a makeover.

How would you feel waking up in a jail cell with a baby cockroach crawling in your bed? The room was actually tiny, with the only window overlooking the courtyard that was actually a dumpster. It was an awful experience. And the price does not justify it at all. The pictures online are deceiving. The lobby of the hotel looks nice but it smells awful. If I paid 10% of the price extra, i could have stayed at a hotel that was actually worth it. As you can tell i had a terrible time there and left as soon as i woke up and killed that cockroach. Do not stay there.

out of value="10"I would first like to apologize for your negative experience at our hotel. We appreciate the time that you took to share your feedback with others. The issues raised in your review are ones that are either already being addressed or that will be in the near future. Our hotel - like almost every other hotel in New York City - has routinely scheduled pest control visits. Pest control is an ongoing process in large cities such as New York, and we do our best to make sure it does not become an issue for our guests. With regards to room size, unfortunately it is fairly common to find small rooms with interior or courtyard views in New York City; many of our guest rooms though tend to be on the larger side. In the coming year our hotel will undergo numerous upgrades and improvements in order to make our guests' stay more comfortable regardless of their room size. We hope that you will consider giving our hotel another chance in the future.

The guy at the door of the hotel was nice but the person at the reception appeared to have had a long a bad day. The first surprise was when the elevator door opened in the 4th floor, dirty carpet and walls. Any way, NY, not bad location, let's go to the room. There, the dirty carpet continued and the room smelled bad. I wanted to call the reception but a couple of cockroaches were busy around the phone! Disgusting! We went down to the reception and got a dirty look from the receptionist and a room in the 2nd floor (our only option, no way we could get a room at 10 pm on a Friday in NY!). The window in the new room didn't close completely, so you can imagine the noise in this nice location! The carpet wasn't great but at least the smell wasn't too bad. In the morning, surprise after the fist shower. The water didn't run through the drain, it came back bringing some nice dirt with it! Flash shower every one and wash our feet in the sink afterwards! The cleaning lady was very polite and said the hotel will fix it. Next morning, the problem was even worst! I guess we find out why the guy at the reception wasn't in a great mood, I don't imagine the number of complains they receive night and day! defenitevely not a place to go back or recommend.

My 2 issues were that the lighting in the rooms was VERY poor, basically 3 table lamps (which were very dim), a closet light, and decent bathroom lighting. Basically it's not good if you're trying to piece together an outfit or apply make-up...you might get out in the daylight with a different look going on than you realized. The second issue is that the shower door is permanently caulked into place, not an issue for myself but I'm thin. The 'average American' would have difficulty getting in and out of the shower because the opening is about 12inches...maybe 14inches.
