Overall nice hotel, nothing too special, but very near French Quarter. Parking was $25 dollars a day but it was convenient.

This hotel was close to everything, but very quiet. A five minute walk one way and you are on Bourbon Street, acouple of minutes the other way and you are at Jackson Square. Just a warning, if you have to have coffee first thing in the morning, there is NO coffee maker in the room.

Great location in a more residential part of the French Quarter. Close to everything (street cars, French Quarter, Marigny, Treme) but not noisy at all. We LOVED our stay!! The hotel is very comfortable. Loved the historic feel...wood trims, brick, vines... beds were comfortable, sheets soft... We have found "our" place to stay when visiting New Orleans!

Our room was small and because it was in the back it was very quiet. We enjoyed the handicap features but had not requested that. How can we request that in the future? Location in the French Quarter allowed us to walk or catch the trolley to all places we wanted to experience.

This is my favorite hotel in New Orleans, and I've stayed at plenty of others. The staff is superb--they go above and beyond the call of duty. The room was clean and spacious, and I loved a private courtyard serving only 4 rooms. I forget they had 2 pools or I would have brought my swimsuit. The only item lacking was an in-room coffee maker, but since […] coffee is always available in the lobby, it wasn't a problem. Wonderful hotel; very convenient to everything in the French Quarter. Having been to FQ before, it was nice being down by the Market, the River and the great restaurants. The only thing that would be better is if the continental breakfast was available earlier than 8:00. Most morning tours start at 8:00 sooooooo. Location was fantastic: quiet, but very close to shopping, restaurants and Jackson Square. Hotel was very clean. I read a review that mentioned tired, crunchy towels. The hotel must have read it, too, because our towels were new and fluffy. The only real criticism I have is that the bed was very soft ( I have a bad back), and it was not comfortable […] to relax in. The hotel was very nice and we requested a room change and were accommodated. However, the parking is valet only and we believe our car was damaged in the hotel parking lot as we had no incidences in town. Other guests would be advised to check their cars when the valet delivers them.

I absolutely loved this place. Great location. Great staff. Beautiful hotel. My husband works offshore and he leaves from New Orleans so we come every three weeks. We try a lot of different hotels. This is my new favorite. I also liked that valet parked my vehicle in their own private parking lot that I could easily get to for the few things I forgot […] inside. Overall loved the hotel. Great location and daily valet rate to park the car was reasonable as there is no where to park in the French Quarter. Everything we did was in walking distance. Hotel staff very nice and helpful. Had a concern regarding the house keeping staff. 1. The door to our room was left open while they were cleaning other rooms 2. Came […] back to the room while housekeeping was there and my husband had left some money on the desk(only a few dollars), the lady kept asking me something but due to the language barrier I did not understand, guess she thought the money was for her, so she took it. The last nite we were there the ladies across the hall could not get into their room as it was locked from the inside, it was found that someone was in their room and had locked the door. This was very scary to think that someone had been in the room for hours and how did they get there. I personally think it happened when the doors were left open while the housekeeping crew was there. I will definitely stay in this hotel again and hope the issues I mentioned above will be taken care of. Read more

Fantastic location, right in the French Quarter. We weren't much interested in Bourbon Street, so were very happy to be so close to Decatur St--restaurants, shopping, Jackson Square, Cafe du Monde! $25 per day to park is pretty steep, but you really have no choice. There is no available parking in the French Quarter. I did love how close, yet quiet the hotel is to everything and I found the front desk/valet folks very nice, but the maid waiting outside our room for a daily tip was awkward and the fact that she left the rooms open while she cleaned […] several at a time was unsettling. None of these things were enough to prevent us from booking there again, just some things the hotel should be aware of. It is a very lovely hotel and would definitely stay there again. Read more

We stayed overnight for a family visit to the French Quarter. Quick check-in, bell staff is very helpful and the location is great. Less than two blocks from Cafe du Monde. Bathroom is very clean, bed could be a bit more comfy. Parking is convenient ($25). This was our second stay and we will stay again.

Hotel staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly - from front desk check-in to the valet parker. Room was fairly small, but it was all we needed. Location was perfect, bed was comfortable,rates were fair...what more could you ask for? Love these old hotels with history behind them, but still modernized. Will definitely stay there again.

I've been to the Hotel Provincial twice and have been very happy with both stays. The location in the Quarter is worth any extra price in comparison to booking anywhere else. The rooms have an old world charm and the staff is excellent. Two caveats; cars must be valet parked, for $25 a day. Plus, the continental breakfast is weak by most standards.

The continental breakfast was mediocre, and the room furnishings might be better described as "used" than antique. However, we were quite happy with our room, the bed was comfortable, the heat easily regulated, and the staff were great. We stayed at the Hotel Provincial for a one night stay in New Orleans. We got a great deal for being right in the French Quarter. The hotel is clean and adequately maintained. Our room had two double beds and a bathroom with a door to the WC. The beds seemed a little old and creaky. There was noise and light from the courtyard coming through the windows […] all night. The location is great, the price was great. Room was acceptable but thermostat on heating/cooling did not work...it was either on always or off always. "Continental Breakfast" was a not much, no forks for all four days of my stay and there was not enough seating for the number of guests staying at hotel...plates were too tiny to hold food to bring back […] to the room. One block from the French Market we had a fantastic 20th anniversary. The Hotel was old and romantic. Our room was on the ground level, had 20ft ceilings and French Doors. We really enjoyed ourselves. Will stay there again.

I only stayed one night but I always stay in the lower quarter. It is very similar to other hotels in the same area. Older building with small but well kept unique rooms in an overall quite part of the quarter. The staff is very helpful and professional. I did not have a car, but onsite parking is available. Awesome courtyard. My room over looked Chartres […] Street which caused some early morning traffic noise so you may want to request a room in the back if you plan to sleep late. Free Continental breakfast (but try Cafe Envie) and free in room wifi. No elevator but wide steeps and people to help with your luggage if needed. Read more
