Great place to stay if you want to be in between the French market and bourbon street!Genuine Expedia guest review
Great location, near Bourbon Street, The French Market and Jackson Square. Very noisy though. We stayed in room 116 which was very noisy with doors slamming and people in the courtyard. The room was very nice. Happened to be one of the stops on our Ghost Tour. We did not see any ghosts :)Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Hotel in a Great Location"
Wonderful hotel with friendly staff. Small issue with housekeeping not taking out the trash in the room each day, but not a large deal. On check in, my card was incorrectly overcharged and, a week later, that amount is still showing as pending. Not very apologetic as it was their error and seemed a little unsure how to fix it. So, now I have both the […] $436 incorrect charge and the $113 correct charge on my card. Good thing I want using a debit card as that kind of error could easily ruin a trip. Yes parking cost and you walk past were its parked, but its done to insure no one gets drunk and hits your car. The place is locked at 10pm so only guest get in. The places feels like a small villa. Quiet peaceful but closs to all the action. My top choice in the futureGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The biggest problem I had with the hotel was that there was NO hot water. It could only be called lukewarm at best. I would probably not stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great room, location - comfortable and clean"
This was a really good stay, good value, terrific location. We did not have a chance to swim in the pool, but it was warm and inviting.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient and charming"
My mom and I shared a room on a recent trip to New Orleans and LOVED the Hotel Provencial. It was convenient to everywhere we wanted to go. Despite being in an older building, the room had most conveniences we wanted and was a nice mix of modern and historic charm. The breakfast service was standard but good, and the happy hour was a nice service. We […] missed having coffee service in the room, but there was coffee available in the lobby most of the day (they stop when the bar is open from 3-10pm) We also missed having a desk ... but it forced me to work less, which wasn't a bad thing. "Stayed one night."
This hotel was very charming, the bar was quaint. It was nice to be able to get a drink right there after a long day of traveling. Staff was excellent and knowledgable. We were in a good proximity to be able to walk and go to surrounding sites. The room was small but cozy. I liked the historical feel, it definitely had the New Orleans vibe.Genuine Expedia guest review
"We keep coming back!"
This was our 4th stay at Hotel Provincial. If we didnt really enjoy it, we wouldnt keep coming back. Rooms are clean and varied, on our first visit, we were able to get one of the rooms overlooking Chartres and fell in love with it. Been trying to get that room again but so far - no luck. Still a great stay no matter which building and room you get. […] The only reason cleanliness did not get a 5 was that the bedspread had a bit of a funk to it, but that is it. Staff is ready and able to help at a moments notice, always polite and professional with a courtly air, The addition of the Ice House Bar is nice, but its rall selling point is James the Barman. Everything you want in a barman - a fount of knowledge on everything libation related as well as the local lore and layout. He immediately makes you feel like an old friend. We'll be back many, many more times. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Hotel Provincial is very unique. The staff was great and the grounds are beautiful. It is within a couple of blocks for shopping and dining. I would stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"All good , but a bit noisy and no dining option..."
We stayed 4 nights and our only real complaints are much the same as most other reviews.....need to kick up the breakfast offerings a bit...could expand bar hours (though both bartenders, James and Etienne are excellent), and I would recommend you NOT get a room in the main building anywhere near the courtyard if you would like some peace beyond 7a.m. […] as it gets extremely noisy and lots of doors are slamming starting about then.Staff were all friendly and helpful.Be aware that you are a bit off the beaten path down here but are in the best spot for Frenchmen Street action (Spotted Cat and 3 Muses highly recommended).A It is a good hotel especially with a good Expedia deal ....needs a dining option to get an excellent rating...Stella is gone now. Enjoy the hotel and staff but it is very simple. The location is it's best quality. Have stayed there 3 times.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was very quaint and homey with a great history. The staff was very inviting and helpful. Would have liked to park my own car but hard to complain about mandatory valet services. The hotel was located close enough to Bourban Street and had wonderful coupons for amazing, near by resteraunts. I have to say my dinner was the best out of my whole […] trip. The pool was right off of my room and breakfast was complimentary. The checkout was easy and quick and lots of help with our luggage. remember, there is an extra charge for more than two people, that was a bummer! was a little expensive for the third person, not sure why because there were two beds in the room. The other guests were also friendly and I loved that they gave their guests a map of the area. didn't have to use my gps. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I live in NOLA but wanted a staycation in the French Quarter. Hotel Provincial was perfect. The pool was perfect, the room was so comfy and I love that all rooms face the courtyard. The location was in a quiet pocket of the FQ but close to Lafitte's, the French Market, Irene's Cuisine and more. I'll go back anytime I get a chance.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"An Oasis in the French Quarter"
I found the Hotel Provincial to be an oasis in the middle of the French Quarter that was exactly the New Orleans experience I was looking for. Historic hotel (on the haunted tour no less - the building I stayed in was originally an army hospital back in 1722) in a fantastic location. It was very quiet, as it is surrounded immediately on all sides by […] residential area/ rooms are set back in from the street, but only a couple blocks from the nightlife- just down the street is the famous Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop. There are several buildings that make up this complex, surrounding a private parking lot, two swimming pools (definitely check out the "little pool" that is ultra-private; behind another interior sitting area, it has a lion's head fountain, clear cool water, 5' deep and surrounded by walls and vegetation. The "big pool" is 7' deep at one end surrounded by guest room buildings. There is a wide variety of rooms, all oozing with historic charm. The many courtyards are beautiful romantic spots. The Ice Bar (not clear why it's called that) is ok, could use a facelift but can't complain about the "buy one get one half price" cocktail ticket they gave when I checked in got me off to a great start! Almost to a person, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful (working on Labor Day no less), and they were working hard to keep up the place and attend to guest needs. My room was very clean and cozy, even had a river view I didn't expect. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Overall no complaints until I learn they were going to charge us for parking inside the hotel grounds when reservations were made no one mention a charge for parking I did complaint to the front desk and to the manager they did tell me not to worry and took care of the misunderstanding, overall we were very pleased staying there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Lovely hotel, gracious staff, amazing location!"
This hotel is perfect for the price. It is very historic and the grounds are beautiful and well kept. We had a basic queen room and it overlooked the pool. It was perfect for what we needed, as we were barely in the hotel. The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of room. The pool looked refreshing even though we didn't use it. The courtyard […] is charming and perfect to take the continental breakfast to. The location is the best. It is a few blocks from Jackson Square, and a few more to Bourbon Street, but it is very quiet and not busy at all around the hotel. Will definitely stay here again. After weeks of searching deals on Hotels.com, the Hotel Provincial appeared a few days before arrival (family road trip of Southern States). Great room rate and reasonable daily parking fee. With two kids (girls 14 & 6), we wanted to be within walking distance to the Quarter and area, have a pool and breakfast option in morning. Room was big enough […] for the 4 of us, queen beds, upgraded bathroom and decorated with antiques.French doors opened to overlook a quaint courtyard with fountain (a bit loud at night and should be turned off at 11pm). Room (#216) was located just right and no sound was heard from street or surrounding area. Continental breakfast was similar to most but fit our needs. A nice intimate bar off the lobby with great drinks. I would be remiss if I didn't talk about the staff. EVERYONE we met was amazing, incredible and the poster children of southern hospitality!!! Special mention to 3 staff members, who made our stay incredible: Etienne the bartender makes the best homemade "Hurricane" in NO and recommended restaurants and visit to the "Frenchman". Celeste provided and maintained the morning breakfast with a sparkly smile, soulful charm and grace and beauty. Sherlayne at Font Desk helped book tours, found discounts and deals, gave detailed directions, followed up with phone calls and gave this California girl a very special gift. Sherlayne you are truly a beautiful human being. Thank you all for your hospitality and genuine care and concern. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Quiet, Historical Hotel in French Quarter"
Super quaint hotel - made up of multiple historical buildings, some allegedly haunted. Cute little pools and fountains abound.Genuine Expedia guest review
"a french quarter experience"
unique, non corporate, friendly and warm french quarter inn. james the bartender was excellent, and the rest of the friendly staff was as well. the fine complimentary continental breakfast in the courtyard was a perfect way to start the morning! would stay again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean and Beautiful"
Our rooms were pristine, the courtyards were beautiful, and there are TWO pools to use, a larger one, and a smaller one hidden away in one of the lovely courtyards (the water was also the perfect temperature). The complimentary breakfast was quite good and is an excellent way to save money for days that you decide to skip Cafe du Monde or another breakfast […] spot (the muffins in particular are delicious). They also provide each room with a BOGO half off drink coupon for the bar, which is also pretty nice. There is no actual restaurant on site, but there are so many great places to eat in the Quarter, it doesn't really matter. The staff is friendly and very helpful, and the hotel is well-kept. It is also extremely close to Jackson Square and the French Market, which is great! It is a bit far from some places (like canal street) but if you don't mind a little walking (and the Quarter is a great place for a stroll) it's just fine. Also, since it's a decent distance from the epicenter of Bourbon Street, its pretty quiet and a good place to rest. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Another wonderful stay at the Hotel Provincial!"
We have stayed at this hotel for years. We love it and the staff is wonderful. Unfortunately, there is one thing that is bothersome and I wish they would change. The beautiful courtyard is a designated smoking area. The courtyard is so smoky that if you're not a smoker, you can't enjoy having breakfast in the courtyard. If you're not a smoker, you can't […] even sit and relax and listen to the fountain because it's so smoky. They need to move the designated smoking area to an outdoor area where there's a breeze instead of the courtyard, which is basically enclosed with rooms surrounding it. "Charming hotel near the French Market"
The hotel is in a perfect location close to everything of interest in the French Quarter. We stayed in a room with a balcony facing Decatur street that use to be a military hospital. The building is beautiful and full of character. The staff is very friendly! I would definitely stay in this hotel again.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Beautiful, historic hotel in the French Quarter."
The hotel was beautiful! It had two gorgeous swimming pools, it was charming and very reminiscent of historic New Orleans! The staff was very helpful and friendly, and made us feel very welcomed!Genuine Expedia guest review
It's an absolutely beautiful, charming hotel. It's just a few blocks from French market and Bourbon as well as being close to Cafe Du Monde. The service was superb. Be prepared for $29.00 valet parking though and there's no mini fridge in the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect location in the French Quarter"
Because this hotel is centrally located in the French Quarter, it is convenient enough to return from touring to relax in the middle of the day or to drop off purchases. It is quiet, despite New Orleans's reputation of being a noisy city. It also has the Old New Orleans charm while at the same time being well maintained.Genuine Expedia guest review
"very nice in the heart of where you want to be"
We liked the hotel. The best part was location. No elevators. Service was nice. The valet guy was very friendly. I liked the charm of the building and the history, but the atmosphere of the hotel is not how it shows on the website photos. But location location location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Very nice stay. Checked in early, room was lovely and the location was close to everything.Genuine Expedia guest review
This was my first time to New Orleans. I originally booked this hotel because of its customer reviews online, and was extremely pleased with it! The rooms were a good size, very clean, and centrally located. We could get to Bourbon Street by car for less than $10, but was far enough away from it that the noise didn't bother us at all. "Comfortable and quiet"
I have stayed in the French Quarter before at other hotels, but none were as serene and quiet as this one. The building is old but well maintained. The room and bathroom were clean. The hotel staff was very friendly and offered suggestions on events and food. I will definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
For the price and location you can't go wrong! The staff is awesome and the pools are quite and cozy. Definitely a place I'll stay again. Only bad thing was the ac rattled during the night.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very charming hotel. Staff was very helpful and knowledgable. Room gets as cold as you want it to, very nice for summer vacationers. Great balcony. Only thing I had a minor problem with was the windows leading to the balcony were a little hard to open - they went up and down. Overall a great choice.Genuine Expedia guest review
I would have to say that this was a nice place to stay and conveniently located within walking distance of everything we wanted to see.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel actually spoiled me. I stayed in a suite on the second floor. The room was incredibly clean and had nostalgic décor. There's no elevator but the staff helps with everything. The valet parking was a nice treat and perfectly priced considering you can come-and-go as often as you like all day. The location was perfect, I walked everywhere and […] had fun with the carriage rides and tours. I don't want to stay anywhere else when I return. I'll definitely come back here.
