"Hotel Provincial is a great choice"
We spent eight days with Hotel Provincial. The courtyard was beautiful, a nice place for breakfast or afternoon drinks. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was very centrally located. We were very happy with our choice.Genuine Expedia guest review

"A perfect hotel for a visit to New Orleans"
We had a large room. It was very quite. Everything was clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a great location: 3 blocks from Jackson Square and 1 block from the French and Farmers Markets. The staff was extremely considerate and helpful. This is a hotel I would like to return to!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel is in a great location! Hotel staff friendly. Will stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great place, good people!"
We had a great stay, very helpful and friendly staff. Light outside door was a little bothersome but there was an opaque covering on glass in transom. Would definately stay again. Its a long walk to the dome and canal street but Good excersize!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"New Orleans stay"
We liked the hotel and its location, but we could hear everything going on outside our windows-trucks driving by, people talking, etc. The pillows were very uncomfortable, but our stay was enjoyable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very well located."
TV in room did not work, they changed us room. The new room was near a central air conditioning device and made noise all day/night long. Personnel at front desk and bar very warm and service oriented.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice place"
We stayed one night at the hotel and were very pleased. The staff were friendly and helpful. I've read a lot of reviews about parking costs and I think they're rates were comparable or a little less than other hotels I looked at. We were allowed to check in early which was great after a long drive!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Second stay at Hotel Provincial"
This is our second stay in NOLA and the second at Hotel Provincial. I wouldn't even try another spot. Perfect location. Great staff, especially David, the "bell hop" is great and been there 23 years!! He took care of our bags and transportation to the airport.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Three day stay in Nov at Provencial."
Great location for seeing the city without having to drive. Room was in building 5 which was located farthest from the lobby so that was inconvenient for morning coffe since the rooms had no pot.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My sister was afraid to climb the stairs so we were upgraded to a suite by the beautiful courtyard at no charge! The manager also picked up some pastries for her... The porter and manager were so gracious. The desk clerk was efficient and pleasant. We were delighted with the location and history of the hotel. I would highly recommend and will come back! "Really nice hotel with super staff"
Israel, the valet, Mike, the night front desk, and Kenny, the day front desk, were sooo helpful, patient, friendly, and welcoming. Every request was attended to promptly and with a great attitude. Directions and information were given in detail and with such friendliness. The rooms were nice - obviously an older building but modern amenities that kept […] the spirit of the place. The hotel is as described on the website. Super clean. Beautiful and peaceful patio area and the pool is gorgeous. Continental breakfast good. I stayed in rooms 107 and 203. Super location because it's only a few blocks from the craziness of Bourbon Street, so the hotel was quiet but it took only about five mins to walk there, and less to the Market. Close to Cafe du Monde and Natchez river boat tour. I'd definitely stay again, and be sure to walk along on one of the haunted house and hotel tours. No apparent paranormal activity in our rooms, though. :) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Nice hotel tucked away a couple of blocks away from the noise. Close enough to major locations to walk and very convenient.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice solo stay"
I was traveling by myself and wanted a hotel that was relaxing, quiet and cozy. The hotel was exactly like that. Was not inexpensive but it was a good location in french quarter. It is some walk from canal and bourbon st so from 3-4 blocks around the hotel there are not that many people in the night. So it can be a bit scary to walk in the night alone […] - but not that long walk. One thing that is good because it is far from crowd is that it is quiet. So not tooo far from the main touristic place but not tooo close. Also just 3-4 blocks away from frenchmen st if you want to go to jazz bars in the night. Breakfast and room wifi are included so that was nice. The courtyard and swimming pool are beautiful but very small. Rooms and hallways are clean and well maintained (of courde any hotel should be). Facility and room decoration makes you feel like you are in a small french town. One thing that was unique was that when you check in, a man guides you to the room and explains about the hotel and rules. This is unlike big hotels where you just check in and take the elevator by yourself. One thing that was not great was the concierge service. I expected that they would know a lot about where to visit, when popular places are open, which restaurants to try , but they didn't seem to know it well. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"One of the best place to stay at French quarter"
I will definitely come back and stay here for the next stay at New Orleans! The hotel room was really clean and workers were very nice and friendly. And the best thing about this hotel is the location where you are able to visit a number of places around french quarter just by walking with some alchols!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Will stay again!"
Fabulous location! And wonderful staff!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great home base in the French Quarter"
The hotel staff were wonderfully friendly, gracious and accommodating. The room was clean although relatively small, and exceptionally quiet. There are actually five buildings in the hotel and ours had been a military hospital in the Civil War. Guess they made walls extra thick back then, because Bourbon Street was two blocks away yet we heard nothing. […] A comfy bed is very important to me and I was not disappointed. "Best hotel staff in New Orleans"
Boooked a short stay from Nov 14 -Nov 18, 2014. I live in Hamburg, NY (Buffalo) and that area of New York state got hit with the worst snow storm EVER!. Had to extend my stay for an additional 3 days. All of the staff at the Provincial are professional, personable, considerate, and accommodating. I've stayed in many different lodgings in New Orleans […] and I've found a new favorite in the Hotel Provincial. They were renovating during our stay so I didn't complain that our heat was faulty and it took SEVERAL minutes for the bathroom water to get hot - but not so serious that I needed to point it out during our stay. Our room and the overall atmosphere of this hotel was incredibly clean and otherwise well maintained. We took advantage of the continental breakfast each morning. Parking in the French Quarter is extremely difficult, so I appreciated that the valet parking was within the courtyards of this lodging. the valets were wonderful!! We never had to wait for our vehicles longer than 5 minutes (if even that long), and the hotel was sold out when we checked in. Away from the craziness of Bourbon Street, but close enough to everything in the French Quarter, the Marigny, Treme, and even the CBD. The Provincial Hotel will be my first choice for my next visit to New Orleans! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This hotel was the cleanest we've ever had in the French Quarter. The history is interesting and our building was on the National Historic Register. There are five different buildings that comprise this hotel. It was also very quiet for the Quarter. I highly recommend it.Genuine Expedia guest review
"First time in New Orleans"
It was our first time in New Orleans and we wanted to stay at a place with some character and history. The Provincial Hotel provided both. We had a great time at the hotel. We knew about its past and how it is supposedly haunted. That actually added to the reason we wanted to stay here (nothing happened). It is very close (2 blocks) to Bourbon Street […] and to the French Market (1 block). The breakfast (continental) was good and well maintained. The hotel staff was able to help us out with whatever we needed and gave us great directions to get whatever we needed to get to. Will definitely will go back to New Orleans and would most likely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"An unexpected treasure at an affordable price"
We booked a stay over the Halloween weekend, and I was happy to see a place so close to Jackson Square, a few short blocks from both the French Market and Bourbon Street. The place is beautiful, with two swimming pools, four courtyards that we counted/stumbled upon, fountains, parking (we flew), and very comfortable guest rooms. We had booked a queen […] bed - and this bed had to be at least a king! The amenities were standard, and consistent. Plenty of towels, very good maid service. The hotel bar, The Ice Bar, is small but hosts impressive and professional bartenders. This is NOT a place to get your drunk on (despite having good prices and a happy hour). It's an old-school bar, and in my dozen or so travels to New Orleans, I have had exactly TWO superlative Sazeracs in New Orleans; The Carousel Bar in the Hotel Monteleone and here. In addition, the bartender took time to research a men's clothing store open past seven PM for me (not an easy task in the Quarter). I appreciate that level of helpfulness, and the quiet bar was a nice place to mellow out before braving the crowds. The front desk staff was efficient, yet oddly brusque. Maybe a bit jaded from dealing with people who took advantage or didn't appreciate the hotel's grown-up nature? Dunno, but it was the one odd spot in my experience. At best, they were friendly enough, and never exactly rude. We would certainly stay there again, though. Quiet location, good price, great bar. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I really recommend this hotel. The staff was very nice and full of useful information about the city. The rooms where very clean and cozy. "Loved it here!"
I loved the location of the hotel on the eastern edge of the Quarter, convenient to everything but low key & quiet. The hotel staff was friendly, helpful & awesome: porters, front desk and particularly our new friend, Etienne who manned the Ice House Bar and was a great source of lore, insider tips, humor and fabulous libations! loved the atmosphere […] of the hotel and it's style. Fantastic compound in the perfect French Quarter location. The room had a balcony overlooking Decatur Street and the French Market. Room was generous given the location and historic building status. We were allowed to check-in early and the staff was great. Enjoyed being able to walk to the French Market and the rest of the French Quarter. Close enough to the nightlife but quiet.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Charming, with limits"
Hotel Provincial is a rambling complex of buildings encompassing charming, plant-filled courtyards, situated between the bustling Bourbon Street area and the French Market. The streetcar line and music-filled Frenchman Street are only a few blocks away, making this hotel, on one of the least busy but historical streets in the French Quarter, an ideal […] location for visitors seeking the feel, music and food of old New Orleans. Nevertheless, the standard room was not particularly inviting or comfortable. The bed was elevated to 30 inches above the floor and, with only one footstool to climb, one of us had to make a flying leap to get into bed. The bathroom was so tiny that it was difficult to close the door. There was only one chair and even that crowded the room. There is an elevator in only one of the several buildings. The coffee in the lobby was good, and the breakfast adequate. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The Hotel Provincial's location is wonderful, almost next door to the French Market but away from much of the French Quarter craziness. Inside you'll find a pleasant patio area and two separate pools. The hotel itself consists of five separate buildings. We were in Building 5. The exterior, while historic, is boring and is reached by walking through […] a tightly packed parking lot. The rooms are small by American standards but very tasteful. My only complaint was that the pillows were old and had lost their loft. My wife and I differ in our opinion about the staff. She thought them professional while I found the desk clerks a bit stuffy and not very knowledgeable when asked about local attractions. I also was unimpressed by the breakfast buffet, served in a very noisy bar area and consisting of nothing more than industrially packed sweet rolls, cereal, and bagels. We ended up going round the corner to a wonderful little bakery and bypassing the hotel food. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We had a great time. The food is always outstanding. We saw the wwII Museum and the Insectarium. Both were excellent. The street musicians are wonderful too. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. "Great hotel - Awesome location"
We really enjoyed our stay here - the room was on the smallish side but as we picked it for its proximity to everything it was more then fine for just sleeping and getting ready in. "Great Location and Staff"
I have stayed in New Orleans for many years. I had never stayed here before but was looking for a hotel that had it's own onsite parking. I did not want my car driven blocks away to park. The hotel has it's own parking and valet attendant, who took special care with my new car, to put it in a very safe location. The entry was great. You pull up and […] get out. The rest is taken care of by a valet. Our room was over a very nice courtyard and had two beds, sofa, desk, chest, two chairs and coffee table. Great light from three sets of French doors. I was very pleased with our room and found everyone there nice and pleasant. There was a morning breakfast buffet which was fine. I find it hard to eat a morning buffet like this when there are so many fine restaurants in which to eat. Good start with coffee though. Very close to French Market and only about three blocks to Jackson Square. Irene's restaurant is on the corner and is an outstanding place to eat. I'll certainly stay here again. "Perfect location and classic New Orleans!"
We absolutely loved this hotels location being close to anything we had planned. It has lots of New Orleans charm and the staff was friendly. Nice touch having the continental breakfast which made it very convenient to grab something to eat before our morning excursions. Also loved the hotel bar as it was a great place to meet up with our group of 12. […] The only down fall was we had called ahead and requested that all of our rooms(6 rooms) be located close to one another, and 2 of the couples ended up in a different building. Not the end of the world but kind of a bummer. We absolutely loved everything about our trip to New Orleans. Thank you Hotel Provincial! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

I did a lot of research finding a hotel in the French Quarter and decided on the Provincial and couldn't be happier with our choices. It was clean, in a great location, and had a historical feel that we wanted without losing comfort. Cute hotel located in the quiet area of the tourist district. One more street over and you would be at the river. However, you can still walk to everything. Simple continental breakfast for those days that you don't feel the need to do an upscale breakfast/brunch. Staff is very nice, did not rent a car so not sure about that. I know it is valet and […] charges a daily fee. However, no "resort fee" that is popping up everywhere these days.Common space converts to small bar around 3:30. "New favorite French Quarter Hotel"
We stay in New Orleans about 3-4 times a year. I'm only interested in French Quarter hotels and we have stayed in about 10 different ones. This place is my hands down favorite. Accessible, clean, friendly staff, rooms I don't feel claustrophobic in, a great pool, a great bar and best of all reasonable rates.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
