"Excellent base to explore greater Miami"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
Hotel staff very friendly. nice lobby, good breakfast with fresh fruits and no plastic dishes. After complaining about the size of suite we were sold for 5 persons (definitely too small and not a fair sale) we were given complimentary upgrade to a two bed room suite by the manager which was very much appreciated. Free parking and free wireless internet are very convenient as well as close access to highway and airport.

Free shuttle to the hotel from airport. Nice exercise room and pool. Room was very comfortable, staff friendly, and hotel was well-maintained and clean. Shuttle provided by hotel to points of interest and cruiseport. Definite return stay next time catching a cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale.

"Not much of a resort"
When we arrived we where told the valet parking area was under construction and we'd have to park blocks away. One of the guys working the shuttle / valet area had me follow him to a parking lot where i paid to park over night and gave me a ride back, i think this guy was the best employee at the hotel, lol. Front desk didn't seem overly helpful and […] when we got there the elevators where broken and we had to take a service elevator up to our room, which just had sheets on the beds, no blankets or soap to be found anywhere in the room. Went down to the restaurant which claimed to have the 'Best italian food in miami' and ordered spaghetti that was so terrible i ended up opting out of it and grabbing a pizza across the street. Went back to the room to try and get some work done and the wifi was completely useless, couldn't load anything on it. Couldn't get the one channel i wanted to watch on tv even though their list of channels had it on there and when i went to try the restaurant again for breakfast i was informed they didn't have the actual breakfast menu we had saw the night before but we had the choice of the over priced breakfast buffet or the over priced continental breakfast. Couldn't check out of there fast enough. Read more

"I really like big hotels"
I discovered for the first time this hotel and i really liked because it had a huge lobby and big pool too. The beds needs to be updated in the room, not very comfy.,

"Run away!!"
Do not stay here. This place is old, dirty, terrible parking, pool, rooms...shall I continue.
It was a little overpriced as far as the room goes but, it had a great location
"With a little work this hotel could rock!"
This hotel has all the bones to make it great but they are still trapped a little in the 50's. Although they are doing renovations it seems like they are doing it very piecemeal. Our room seemed to be remodeled but it felt like they got 90 percent done then just gave up. Making a great hotel is all about details and the Duvalle is short on detail. The […] lobby is amazing and the gym seemed pretty good. I could not log onto the internet from my room during my entire stay. I even called but the IT guy was not around and never called me to help either. I was told on my way out that it is easier to get online from the lobby. but I never tried. The pool is Huge and the water was warm but it is in major need of an upgrade. I love the fact that it is 9 ft deep but there is a lot of wasted opportunity with the great amount of space in that pool area. Again, a few million could make the pool area rock. I love the fact that it is on the beach. The beach is AMAZING! FYI you only get 2 lounge chairs on the beach per room. The Pool DJ was great and the people who worked there were friendly for the most part. There is a big problem with the parking. There is none. No Valet either. You have to drive 5 blocks to a city lot to park and the shuttle takes a long time. I would suggest after dropping off your suitcase just walk back to and from the lot. There are some good restaurants and little shops worth knowing about that you see on your walk. I believe that they are building a parking garage somewhere nearby but again I don't know when that is going to be done. For breakfast I would recommend walking two blocks south to where there is a NYC bagel place. You are about a 15 min drive to all the South Beach fun. Its no big deal and we got there fast on a Fri and Sat night. Overall I found the hotel charming and I had a good stay. I would love to see the owners put some cash into this place and turn it into a showplace. It could be great. Read more
"Another overpriced Beach hotel"
Overall, the hotel wasn't that bad but you are paying for the beach. Room was clean but really need to update the bedding and towels. Parking is a problem because their valet parking was full the whole time and had to park in a lot 5 streets up. Shuttle service was available.

"Hotel very dirty"
When we arrived we drove up to valet. The rude attendent told us valet was full we would have to park in public parking 4 blocks away. You must be there at 8 a.m. every morning to pay or else you will get a $18.00 parking ticket. The rooms have no comforters only sheets and blankets that they probably got from the homeless shelter. They were nasty and […] uncomfortable. They were disgusting! The lobby had bugs in the furniture. Checking out we waited 45 minutes trying to get an elevator from the 8th floor to the lobby. Would not recommend. Read more
"win: the beach, not-so-win: everything else"
this is a weird one. First of all, there is NO hotel parking lot, so those of you that rent a car are SOL and are relegated to go to the public beach parking lot. This wouldn't be so bad except you had to feed the meter every 8 hours (and the lot does issue tickets and tow vehicles). ALSO, you have to remember to feed the meter by 8 am. Secondly, it […] takes the staff a long time to get you stuff. Asked for an extra mattress for a guest to sleep on...took them a day and some change to even acknowledge us. Thirdly, there were some ants that crawled up through the drain, but it was hot, and they were probably just after any source of sugar or water. On the plus side, they have an excellent location. It's right on the beach, and their pool has a great bar. There's a taxi stand near by, and there are restaurants that you can walk to. Our balcony was amazing and had a really awesome view of the ocean. All in all, a very dissatisfying experience service wise, but great location. Read more
"Hell No Deauville"
Power went out every morning and the staff did not care to explain or help with the situation. The windows were dirty AND the room was stinky. DO NOT STAY HERE TO SAVE YOUR LIFE!!!!
"Not a 3 start hotel- more like a 1 star- GROSS!"
I booked this hotel because the photos of it looked nice and the price was right. When I pulled up to the hotel in my rental car with 4 big bags- no one came to our service. We sat there for 5 minutes and then approached a bellman who told us that their valet had closed at 6pm and we would have to pay $20 per day to park in some far away lot and take […] a shuttle back to the hotel with all of our bags. The Bellman still did not help us with our luggage. He sat and stared at us like we were crazy for expecting help. The entrance of the hotel has a bunch of stairs- with NO ramp to roll suitcases up. So not only does the bellman not help, but all guests have to lug their bags up a flight of stairs before checking in. But wait- that is just the start. Once inside the hotel, most of the lights were off which was weird. We got to our room and here is what we found: 1. A large iron shaped burn in the carpet right in the middle of the room 2. ripped shredded carpet with exposed tacs which my friend stubbed her toe on 3. NO HOT WATER !????? 4. ripped, pealing paint off of the walls 5. dirty linens in bathroom 6. an hole cut in the floor with a rotting metal piece and some bolts sticking out. (Not sure what that was) DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Read more
"Nice! Steps to the beach!!"
Overall the hotel was very clean and nice. It was like stepping back into the 70's which was fine. The room had flat screen televisions and was very clean. It could be updated. You get two beach chairs and towels everyday. We hung out on the beach and pool so it was just awesome. Also there is a very nice beachfront path the we walked/jogged on every […] day. I would stay there again. Read more
There was no parking, the parking lot was 5 blocks away, they did offer shuttle to and from the parking lot. I was on my honeymoon and found out that the hotel was hosting a gay convention. I have nothing against gay people but that is not the way I had planned on spending my honeymoon watching a hotel full on gay guys making out all in the hotel, the […] pool, the hot tub & the beach. My husband was so disgusted that we did not enjoy our honeymoon at all. In the future Hotels.com should find out if a hotel is hosting an event so they can inform the customer of any activities that is going on. If I had known that, that convention was going on I would have never booked my honeymoon their. I am so upset about the whole thing. Read more
You get what you paid for! Although the hotel is old it is decently kept, we arrived early around2:15 and we were able to check-in right away. We had two rooms booked and the check-in staff was pretty nice; maybe because we spoke Spanish too. The pool area is big and the resort price included two beach chairs and four towels per room. The bar was a […] little expensive but what else can you ask for its right by the beach, maybe just bring your own! I was charged 40 bucks at arrival on my credit card but was cleared out within three business days and didn’t have to pay anything extra. We also checked-out about two hours late due to the time change. The only negative feedback was the cleaning lady knocking at the door at 9AM asking when we were leaving. Read more
"cool spot to chill"
especially if ya' like the Beatles! Rooms were fresh & clean. The hotel needs to do a little TLC when it comes to painting & caulking bathrooms, hallways etc.. Beds need a bit of upgrading & they could put a lil' more effort into making the DEAUVILLE a "Retro Beatles Ed Sullivan Appearance Re-Visited Experience". How about some new stylish framed photos […] everywhere and hooking up the Napoleon Ballroom with some Ed Sullivan / Beatle memorabilia etc. This was an historic appearance & theres a LOTTA beatle fans that would find it very cooool. thanks folks : ) Read more
"On the Beach"
Older Hotel with nice location and eateries in walking distance. Did not like the beds as they were old and linens were worn.
"Deauville Beach Resort--not the "nicest" place"
Okay, I'm from Miami, so I know that Miami is not known for its friendly people. The minute we arrived at the Deauville, we realized that we shouldn't expect anything different. It doesn't say it anywhere on the website, but you are required to park about 5 blocks from the hotel (no valet). The non-valet person wouldn't event take the time to explain […] to us where to park or where to catch the shuttle. My husband waited for 30 minutes in a dark parking lot by himself in Miami Beach trying to find this shuttle. Also, the hotel bathrooms and the pool areas are completely run down and out of date. On a good note, the location is beautiful, if you're looking for a great beach location. There are plenty of restaurants around as well. If we didn't have an ocean view room, I don't think I would have enjoyed our stay at all. Read more
"Nice to see Oceanview"
Very close to the beach and easy to see Ocean. There is no parking lot. You have to use public parking lot. That is big problem.
"Hotel is too old and needs work"
The hotel was clean but it has not been updated in the last 20 + years. You are a long walk, bus or cab ride from south beach so pay the extra money and stay in a hotel in south beach. We had to change rooms because the first night we could hear everyone who walked by our room - the walls are thin !!! We moved to a room at the end of the hall and they […] are nice to move us but acted like they were doing us a favor. As I said the hotel was cheap but clean so you get what you pay for. Read more
"One of the worst hotel in Miami beach"
Not good at all. They have the worst service. the first and the last time that i going to stay in this hotel. I go bet. 2 0 3 times to Miami beach during of the year Like i said, but never again.thanks
"What century is it?"
This hotel looks updated, in the lobby, but the room looked like the last renovation it received was in 1970. It was old and run down. Should have taken it as a sign when we pulled up and had to request the valet to do their job. When we came back after dinner they wanted me to park 6 blocks away and only the fact that I had a sleeping child in my car […] convinced them to assist me. The only good thing was room service. They delivered a menu, the food came up fast and hot and was delicious. Won't stay here again. Read more
"Good for the beach but nothing else."
The Deauville is an OK place to get a cheap oceanfront view with a balcony and easy beach access, but you need to ignore everything else about the place. You can tell that the hotel does the absolute bare minimum to keep the place running. It is a dinosaur of a hotel, the pool is old and cracked, the room furniture is ancient and falling apart. The […] staff is completely apathetic, they have no desire to be pleasant or helpful. We did enjoy our oceanview balcony and the beach acess is great, but I doubt we would ever stay there again. "The Deauville"
Hotel rooms are not fancy, but very clean. The beds were comfortable and the oceanview room was awesome. Free lounge chairs on the beach was a plus.
"Deauville"
Really liked my room. It was updated. The pool and beach were nice. The hotel is a little dated. I think it is a good place to bring families. You are a little far from the hustle and bustle of south beach. There are very few restaurants nearby.
"Miami Boat show"
we were in town for the boat show the location of the hotel was great because it was on the route of the free shuttle buses from the yahts to the convention center. the room was very nicely decorated the bed was comfy and the beach and the beach walk were very nice. Would love to go back again sometime soon.
"beware of parking problems"
I would not recommend this hotel because of the bad parking problem we had. The late check in time and attitude of the valet guys. We ended having after 2 attempts finding a space 7 blocks from hotel and having twice to navigate the busy entrance in order to unload bags. The valet guys not the most helpful allowing me only 10 minutes to get my luggage […] of loaded and each time having my car block in by other traffic. After all the time it took we had very little time to unwind by the pool before darkness. "Location location location and that is it!"
Enjoy the location of this hotel. Pool is also ok but that is it. Parking is a nightmare! Be ready to walk. 15 min every time u need ur car. There is a parking lot at 72nd street but thereis also a line to buy ur ticket.
I stayed here last year 2011 and would definetly say the imrovemnts were great. The room was nice and very spacious. Nice hang out by the pool with good drinks. Short walk out back to the beach was nice too. Elevators could use some work as we had a rediculous waiting when checking out.
"Excellent Stay"
The overall experience was fantastic. From the moment we arrived to the moment we check out. The staff were friendly and helpful. I will recommend the hotel to all! Thank you!!
"One Word "Excellente""
I have stayed at the Deauville Beach Resort, Miami on several occasions, the staff are courteous, professional, and caring; they aim to make sure you are accommodated with the best comfort. The new renovations are modern displays of relaxation within posh decorum. The rooms are clean, neat, and decorative. The location is very safe and a little further […] up from south beach, which is perfect if you don’t like the hustle and bustle of crowded streets. Waking in one of The Ocean Front rooms, is tranquil and serine, donating to the illusion that you are out on the ocean without the motion of a ship or boat. The Business Suites are absolutely their second to best featured rooms, compared to The Ocean Front rooms which are the best. I definitely recommend The Deauville Beach Resort as a Premium Resort Hotel to schedule your reservations with and book for your entire family. ~ A.Crenshaw Read more
"Miami Beach Hotel-on the beach-fun poolside bar"
We stayed at this beautiful Art Deco Hotel steps from the beach .Excellent customer service-outdoor dining available from their dinng room and poolside bar.We enjoyed walking on the beach under the moon. The bed was comfortable, beautiful ocean view from the window in our room.
"The Beach resort is at a very good location."
This is my second time staying in this beach resort because of the location and Ocean Front view. The view is like being on board a crew ship having a very private balcony all you see is the ocean. Nice and big swimming pool / deck with lots of sun bathing chairs. Need to get to breakfast early while the tables are set up the crew staff can not keep […] up with the demand. The ventilation in the hall ways leading to the rooms is very poor with old carpeting through out the hall ways and rooms. There is public parking between the resort on 65 th street and 72nd street pay 8.00 dollars a day. Read more
"great lil getaway"
Mike the concierge was most helpful. The people were great rooms were fantastic. Ocean view room was beautiful. Definitely a wonderful lil lovers getaway spot. Private beach. Close to shopping n south beach. Valet was expensive public parking was cheaper and they offer free shuttle service if you dont wanna walk the 3 1/2 blocks.
"north beach"
The hotel is tired .The parking was awful. We had a car and were told we had to find public parking because there was no valet. Our room was missing a lamp and a picture. We upgraded to a ocean view room and the sunrise was great. The hotel is far from the south beach action. We were afraid to move our car from its parking spot so we were forced to […] take a $30 cab or the bus. I guess its cheap compared to other hotels with beach locations so we got what we paid for. "3 night stay at the Deuville Beach Resort in Miami"
The Deuville Hotel is an old hotel. It must have had its hay day in the 50's and 60's. The Beatles played at theDeuville. The hotel is very spacious. The beach is fabulous. The rooms are large, and clean, but do need modern renovations. The hotel is in the process of renovating its 400 rooms. I would recommend the hotel for anyone, but do not expect […] modern or luxurous rooms , as only 3 floors have been renovated. The valet garage is also being renovated. Not a bad choice for the value. I would give it 2.5 starts out of 5. Read more

"no valet or on site parking"
I travel on business 100 nights per year. No on-site parking, no valet parking. Had to walk six blocks for public parking. Never again. one start maybe. Needs major renovation.
"Dirty but Safe"
Like many hotels in Miami Beach, this one was older. It looked a little rough around the edges and the service was way below average. They missed wake up calls and didn't always give us towels and there was no parking at the hotel. We had to walk four blocks. This was a business trip and I got along to get along, if this were a vacation trip it would […] have been more disappointing. Great Ocean Views! Read more
"Bad and Good"
Bad: no bathtub mat unless you ask for one; in several rooms, one of the two double beds SQUEAKED (!) loudly if you turned - king-sized mattress may be quiet; room service didn't clean the room; hotel restaurant was very slow to bring food ordered; parking was difficult; dim lighting in room unless you ask for additional lamp. Good: spacious room; […] interesting eateries in the area; magnificent ocean view from balcony; unusually large pool and whirlpool; it's great to stay where Beatles stayed if you're a Beatles fan; cool 60's decor of lobby; great walking/biking trail alongside hotel/ocean; reasonable price and good location for getting to glitzy, more expensive spots.
