"On the beach, but not worth the hassle ."
Horrible. Nickel and dime you for everything! I thought they were going to charge us for the air we were breathing! Roped us in with a nice money saving rate, but NOTHING included! When all was said and done, could have stayed at the Ritz for less! Ridiculous house rules, ex. Couldn't move beach chairs to have a little privacy. "Beautiful beach... terrible management"
The Beach was beautiful. The hotel’s history was interesting. The management appeared to be new and inexperienced in the hospitality business. The wait to check in to our room was painfully long... really?? all the rooms were magically available only at 4pm?? Check out was at 11am. Service at the desk was slow at best (imagine checking in a lobby filled […] with anxious guests all at 4pm!) We were issued three different sets of room keys that didn’t work. The staff couldn’t even open the door so they had to change our room… the guys down the hall looked like they had similar issues. The room was clean and the décor was tasteful. There was a nice vessel sink but no counter space in the bathroom. Our coffee pot was missing its carafe. And this “beach resort” had no place to hang wet towels or swimsuits. The extra charges added up. I was surprised to have to pay an additional “resort fee” and a deposit for everyday of our stay. The 3 of us had to wear wrist bands to access the swim pool or beach but we were only allowed to use 2 beach chairs... there was a charge for additional chairs or an umbrella. Towels were free to check out but of course there is a charge if you do not return them by 6pm… better make it 5:45 because they have a tendency to close early. They are trying to update the rooms and common areas. The lobby is fantastic. But beyond the entrance many of the updates appear to be cutting corners and come across cheesy. We had to pay hotel fee and I refused to pay $30 dollars for parking so I parked on the street , $30dllrs overnight parking for guest oh no this is an assault! The Good thing were the beach view. We stood in this hotel for 4 nights. We wasn't to happy with our stay. We arrived at the hotel at 11:30pm, (by the time we was done with checking in it was 12am) as soon as we checked in there was a charge of $20 for the pool, beach,wifi and gym use (we didn't mind paying for the rest of the days) We asked the front desk agent why is he charging us […] for a day use when the day was over, all he said was it's an automatic charge. The next day as we went to the beach they only provide you with 2 beach chairs, if we wanted an additional chair we would have to pay $15 (it was 3 of us staying at the hotel). On our last day which was Monday they shut the electricity down from 1am to 5am. We had no running water and no ac. When we got back from a night out a security (by the way he was very friendly and very nice unlike some of the front desk agents) escorted us to our room. We had to walk up some stairs and go to sleep in a hot muggy room without showering (believe me, we could of used a shower after our night out). The hotel was a disappointment. I booked an Ocean view and that was the only thing that was good. Hotel has a great location, but its old and needs to be renovated. The desk staff upon check in over charged me for the stay. resulting in an confrontation asking me to leave or check in. We did not receive any service at the outside bar when others who came up behind me ordered in Spanish and got served right away. "Seemed nicer online"
Two of my friends and I stayed there, from 8/21 to 8/26 in a two bedroom room. Our room seemed a little old, rusted features and needing a paint job. We had issues the first day with the shower overflowing, and we had to pack everything and moved to another room. When we called housekeeping, they came to try to fix it, but couldn't, and told us a plumber […] could come the next morning at 8 am. We had plans that night, and only one person had showered since we had come from the beach. The new room was closer to the top floor and seemed to be in better condition and probably recently painted. We did have more issue with bathroom, with the toiled overflowing but housekeeping took care of it quick. Housekeeping kept forgetting to leave us enough towels and wash clothes. We had issue with them: when we requested some from housekeeping that were working on our floor, we were told to call the department first, and than we were maid to wait a long time, even though they were still on our floor. Where to start, parking was at a lot across the street $30 per day,no valet. Security guards where rude and did not speak English or new the hotel policies. No coolers allowed anywhere in hotel. We got there about noon after our cruise we didn't get our rooms until close to 5, waisted all day in the lobby we wanted to eat we asked, nobody mentioned the restaurant in the lower leve,l had to walk to fiend one. Key for the room didn't work went to get knew key still didn't […] because the door knob is so worn out that you had to wiggle for 5 min. No hot water bathtub still had hair from the previous people shower curtain had pink scum on it you go have breakfast and they try to presure you to get the buffet when you only want an egg, fruit and toast because they tell you is going to take to long for the egg.
