Hotel staff very friendly. nice lobby, good breakfast with fresh fruits and no plastic dishes. After complaining about the size of suite we were sold for 5 persons (definitely too small and not a fair sale) we were given complimentary upgrade to a two bed room suite by the manager which was very much appreciated. Free parking and free wireless internet are very convenient as well as close access to highway and airport.

Free shuttle to the hotel from airport. Nice exercise room and pool. Room was very comfortable, staff friendly, and hotel was well-maintained and clean. Shuttle provided by hotel to points of interest and cruiseport. Definite return stay next time catching a cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale.

Location.
Standing 11 stories tall in the energetic South Beach area of Miami Beach, Fla., is the Marriott South Beach. The hotel sits on the beach 11 blocks from Versace's Mansion. Bayside Marketplace is four miles from the property while the Orange Bowl is seven miles away. Located eight miles from the hotel is the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.
Hotel Features.
The Deco Blue Restaurant and Bar serves seafood dishes either indoors amidst blue lighting and dark woods or al fresco overlooking the beach. The Marriott South Beach features an outdoor pool with sundeck and a spa tub overlooking the beach. The fitness facility offers cardiovascular equipment, free weights and a sauna. 2,000 square-feet of meeting and ballroom space are available on the mezzanine level. High-speed wired and wireless Internet access (surcharge) and luggage storage are available. Self parking and valet parking are available on site (surcharge). Various equipment items including parasails, personal watercraft and wave runners are available for rent immediately outside the hotel on the beach.

"Marriott South Beach"
Far enough away from the hustle and bustle to get a good nights sleep but close enough so that everything is within walking distance. Eat lunch at La Playa Market around the corner and watch the pretty girls on the beach
"161 Ocean"
This Hotel is perfect if you want to chill on a perfect Beach a few steps from the hotel.(with beach service) The rooms are litte tight but nice. Awesome food very close buy. Joes is walking distance, major plus.(Oct-May) Best Stone Crap! Yes go.
"Perfectly Located"
Stayed here from Aug. 22 - 26. Excellent location right on the beach. Close enough to all the stores and bars but far enough away to be quiet. Very helpful staff, very friendly. The pools are great, very clean. Loved being right on the beach, convenient. Valet parking was cool but a little pricey. Still worth it I would say. I have stayed in South Beach many times. Of the larger hotels, this was my least favorite. The pool was small and there are only about 50 chairs around it. Get there early, or you are out of luck. "Great Hotel w/in walking distance to South Beach"
What a vacation!!! Went to Miami to see the Mana concert with a college girlfriend. I am soooo pleased with the choice I made. Great access to the beach, nice pool area, and fitness center was great. The staff, especailly Jorge, were amazing. Can't wait to go back!

"Good location for us"
This hotel is not in the middle of the action and that is just how I like it. We could walk a few blocks and getting to the area of South Beach were all the restaurant and nightlife were taking place, but we didn't have to listen to it when we wanted to get away. Perfect! The hotel is right off the beach, which was super convenient. The pool was nice […] and there is a Starbucks right in the hotel, which is convenient for a quick, light breakfast or snack. "Great location"
Perfect location for us as a young family to explore South Beach - Within easy walking distance to all restaurants on Ocean Drive and shopping on Collins, but also in a quiet surrounding. View from room (ocean front) was great. Nice staff on front desk. Only negative aspect: Quite pricy.

"Expected more from this hotel."
This is a nice hotel if you want tranquility and don't care about walking to see everything sobe has to offer. It has nice grounds with lounge chairs and pool area by the beach. It's close to the ocean drive strip restaurants but far from Lincoln rd. Parking is not easy, the hotel charges $ 34/night. There's a public parking on 5th street that charges […] $ 20 for every 24hrs. No fridge at the room just some sort of cooler, very odd for a big chain hotel. Nice toiletries by Bath and body works. The beds are not the most comfortable. We found a roach in the room , reason why i give 3 to cleanliness. Overall its a good hotel with good amenities such as a spa, gym and nice grounds. Staff was nice, the front desk attendant who first helped me was really courteous and professional however the manager who helped me with the 2nd room was a bit on the edge and was extremely rude to a person in my party just because she was checking on the status of the room, we had to wait for more than an hours to get to the 2nd room. "Good hotel but expensive valet parking"
Good hotel in an excellent location for south beach and Ocean Drive. We enjoyed staying here and the staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and had a good view. We were very happy with our stay at the Marriott. The room was very nice with a nice view of the ocean. The hotel staff was helpful and kind. The pool area was great and had a nice atmosphere. This hotel was nice and clean. The rooms were spacious compared to others in South Beach. The oceanfront room is the only way to be in south beach. One major complaint is the chairs and umbrellas on the beach. For as expensive as the hotel rooms were, the beach chairs and umbrellas should have been complimentary to guest staying at the hotel. Hotel is in perfect location. We had amazing ocean view . The staff were very polite and professional .Parking at the hotel cost an extra $34 per night. I would love to revisit with my wife in the near future.

We were expecting something better for a Marriot. The hotel itself is quite old. Our first room was roadside and near an elevator so was extremely noisey. After being relocated we had a better experience. It's about a 20 minute walk to Lincoln Road however there are lots of Restaurants close by. "Marriott South Beach-A Gem!1"
After reading some of the reviews on tripadvisor was a little concerned bout the proximity of the hotel to convenient areas and the friendliest of the staff-but I am now convinced they did not stay here!! This is the best hotel we have stayed in in a long time! It is right on the beach has two gorgeous pools overlooking Miami Beach and a Starbucks right […] underneath if you want an early coffee and a walk (opens at 6.30 am). The staff are absolutely amazing from the concierge as you arrive to the checkin desk (thanks Seth and Demittt) . We arrived late from a tour and ordered room service- awesome food and great service. It ajoins 1st street and you can walk to 5th and there is a miriad of cafes and entertainment-it takes about 10 minutes at the most. "Zimmerbelegung"
Wir haben ein Zimmer für drei Personen gebucht. Leider mussten wir dann bei der Ankunft im Hotel feststellen, dass nur zwei 1.40m Betten im Zimmer vorhanden war. 5 Tage im Klappbett zu übernachten und das in einem Marriott war schon nicht unbedingt das, was wir haben wollten ;-)

"Excelente hotel!"
Este hotel fica em frente ao mar, em uma ótima localização, próximo a bons restaurantes. Achei ruim a piscina fechar às 7:00 PM, ou seja, em Miami, onde é muito calor e não poder usar o pool após 7:00 pm é um pouco absurdo para um hotel de praia. No restante, as instalações são boas.

"Slitt hotell med god beliggehen"
Dette hotellet har sett sine beste dager! Men ligger jo veldig sentralt med stranda på ene siden og hovedgata på andre siden. Rommet hadde en fuktig "gammel" lukt og interiøret var slitt. Det lak fra badekaret inn mot resten av rommet og kjøleskapet virket nesten ikke.

É um bom hotel, e é bastante bem localizado pois fica na melhor avenida de South Beach (Ocean Drive) e tem ligação directa com a praia.
"Et greit hotell for en natt eller to"
Rommet var forhåndsbestilt, men hotellet kunne ikke tilby et to sengs rom når vi kom. Dette er svært dårlig, men etter en del diskusjon, ble vi tilbudt et rom med bedre beliggenhet og en ekstra seng uten kostnader. Servicen fra resepsjon og rombetjeningen var utmerket.
