For the price paid this hotel is totally worth the money. Free breakfast and no resort fees! Location right on fremont. Hotel staff were very nice compared to some higher priced hotels. Front desk was friendly at check in. Valet guys were nice. Breakfast was awesome. Room was a little dated and tired but for the rate paid it was clean, quiet and safe.

Overview of Mandalay Bay Resort And Casino - Las Vegas

Life's definitely a beach at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Located at the south end of the Las Vegas Strip, this 43-story "seaside" resort offers a free monorail connecting to the main Strip--in case you feel like leaving. But chances are slim. The sandy beach, wave pool, 20 restaurants, and 135,000-square-foot casino make this resort a great spot to spend your entire Sin City stay.

The 11-acre Mandalay Bay Beach, complete with 2,700 tons of real sand, provides a refreshing oasis from the desert heat. The wave pool tops off the experience--and families, especially teens, will love the lazy river. With a beachside casino, the Beach Bar & Grill for a quick bite, and rental cabanas, you'll be tempted to stay all day.

But you're in Vegas after all, and Lady Luck beckons. At the Mandalay Bay Casino, you can play your favorite games in a tropical setting of flowing water and lush foliage. The casino's race and sports book is one of the city's top choices for pari-mutuel wagering on all major horse-racing tracks. For a completely different animal attraction, visit the Shark Reef (surcharge), North America's only predator-based aquarium. This 1.6-million-gallon saltwater habitat features more than 2,000 sea creatures, including 15 species of sharks.

If shark-watching makes you hungry, choose from more than 20 restaurants and lounges, from fine-dining destinations helmed by celebrity chefs to burger joints and 24-hour cafés. Mix, created by world-renowned chef Alain Ducasse, showcases French and American creations, complemented by show-stopping views of The Strip. Lovers of Italian food will want to try Trattoria del Lupo by Wolfgang Puck.

After dinner, head to the House of Blues for a variety of music by top artists like Stevie Nicks and Bob Dylan. Or see world-class performers and sports showdowns at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.

Guestrooms set the stage for relaxation and comfort. Floor-to-ceiling windows create a show of their own, with dramatic views of the city, Mandalay Bay Beach, or the rugged hills. Pillowtop beds, 42-inch plasma TVs, and stone-clad bathrooms with jetted tubs and their own TVs mean you'll look forward to turning in, no matter how much fun you're having.

Aureole - Graced by a 4-story wine tower, this award-winning restaurant created by chef Charlie Palmer features innovative specialties such as Braised Veal Shank with Kumquat Gremolata. Open for dinner only.

Mix - World-renowned chef Alain Ducasse brings contemporary French and American dishes with global accents to Mandalay Bay. Try the Rack of Colorado Lamb and, for dessert, the Caramelized Pear Turnover. Dine beneath a chandelier of 15,000 hand-blown glass spheres. Open for dinner only.

Fleur - Created by Top Chef Master Hubert Keller, Fleur features globally inspired small plates, such as Angus Sliders and Maple Glazed Pork Ribs. Open for lunch and dinner.

Wolfgang Puck's Trattoria del Lupo - Puck's first Italian restaurant features favorites like oven-baked pizzas and fresh pastas (which you can watch being made) on a daily-changing menu. Open for dinner only.

    Things to do

Catch a concert, sporting event, or live television special at the 12,000-seat Mandalay Bay Events Center. Or enjoy a Broadway hit or comedy headliner at the state-of-the-art Mandalay Bay Theatre. The resort also presents ongoing productions, such as Disney's The Lion King and Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour--a fusion of visuals, dance, and music that honors the King of Pop.

You can catch live jazz, blues, and rock music at the Coral Reef Lounge, or a summer concert series at the Outdoor Beach Stage. If the bar scene is more your calling, check out one of the many lounges, including Eyecandy, where interactive touch-tables let you create visuals above the dance floor and literally create your own vibe.

Schedules and availability are subject to change without notice; for more information on current shows, contact the hotel at the number listed on the reservation confirmation received after booking via this web site.

    Recreation

After the casino, Mandalay Bay Beach is undoubtedly the resort's biggest attraction--so come ready to catch some rays and splash around. If the seasonal wave pool isn't enough, take a ride down the lazy river or swim in the 3 additional pools. Guests 21 and over can sunbathe and socialize in the Moorea Beach Club, an upscale yet casual space where dipping pools, cushioned chaises longue, daybeds, and a pavilion invite you to cultivate your inner movie star. Have a poolside spa treatment while you're at it. Love music? Seasonal concerts here showcase big names like Chicago and Ziggy Marley.

The casino was horrible with comps. I played blackjack for almost 90 minutes @ $50 per hand and was comped a whopping $4. Gee, thanks Mandalay. While some guys might enjoy seeing hookers walking around seeking prey, I thought it was lacking class. Not a good place to take your wife for a getaway.

We stayed at Mandalay Bay for 2 nights April 29 and 30. The room is very nice and the pool area is a lot of fun. We were lucky that we were able to get chairs by the pool on both days which I guess is unusual. The charge for buying a float for the lazy river was pretty pricey. You can not rent a float you must buy them. I would bring a couple from home […] or buy at a drugstore when you get there. The casino was so smokey that we were unable to gamble there at all. We only walked through the casino to get to the tram or the front door because of the smoke. We went to several casinos on the strip and this one was by far the very worst .
