"Poor Customer Service"
I am a firm believer that the most important thing about a hotel stay is customer service and our stay at Mandalay Bay started with some horrible customer service. We booked our king room months in advance, only to arrive and have them tell us that the king rooms were sold out. There was no apology, not even a feigned compassion for us, but just a "too […] bad for you" attitude and here's a room with two queen beds, deal with it. We were told that if a king room opened up during the course of our three night stay that they would call us, which they never did. That initial experience with the front desk staff really colored the entire stay at Mandalay Bay. As for the rest of our stay, the room was generic, could use some updating. The pool is gorgeous and the restaurants in the hotel were fantastic. In the room bar is high but very high prices as an example battle of water cost 8 dollars before tax and I'm talking about the small battle of water ! This was my third time over there and it's the last till they will upgrade the service this hotel also charge 32.5 dollars for hotel fee for a slow Internet wifi connection and for a terrible service […] in the beginning when we did check in they after 4 hours of driving they told us that the room of one king bed has sold out and they don't have room available and if we want they can upgrade us after we will pay 35 dollars more for each night to this kind of room we told them that we don't want to pay more and want to talk to a manager this guy at the reception went to a manager and sadenlly he come back with an answer that he have a regular king bed room available like we orderd this is not unnest service that trying to push you and to raise prices when you are doing check in I'll never get back to this kind of hotel and I hope some one in the top managers will know what's going on in this hotel I used to really enjoy in this hotel in the past but no more.. "Expensive doesn't mean nice"
After finding dirty socks in our suite, it took 2 hours and 6 conversations with management to get moved to a clean room, they are severely lacking in customer service, we had better service at another hotel at 1/4 the price. It has always been my experience to tip the bellman that brings your bags to your room, not to tip them on both ends.
