Terrible Hotel. I would NEVER stay there again. The beds were hard on the ends and sunk in the middle. The confortor was stained. I was extreemly dissapointed. It took over 20 minutes to check in. Bugs in the room. The cheapest quality towels that felt like sandpaper, the cheapest tissue and toilet paper. Breakfast was poor and the 'napkins' were bathroom dispenser towels. "Great price, clean room"
I only wanted to spend a short night at a hotel close to the airport. I stayed in an executive room, which included a microwave and a fridge. The place was extremely shabby but clean. The walls in the unit were a bright olive drab which made the place appear very dark. The television in the bedroom was a big old tube television and the flat screen in the living room was small. "This was a disgusting hotel!"
We arrived at the hotel in the evening and as we walked into the hotel it smelled awful. We got to our room on the 3rd floor and it stunk and we were developing headaches. The hotel staff found a new room on the 3rd floor and it was 84 degrees in that room. We were sweating and the air conditioning didn't make a difference as it was coming out warm […] from the a/c unit. The fix-it guy walked in, took the filter out of the a/c to make it work better and then came back again with a fan to make the room cool off faster. The temp of the room came down to 82 within an hour. We packed our stuff and decided to leave. We were told by the hotel staff that they had another room on the first floor with 2 queen beds. My husband and I have 7 kids and live locally. We were just wanting a night out. We have a king bed at home, so a queen bed would be ridiculous. We went to the side and talked about it. A few minutes later we approached the front desk and told them we would take the queen room and they told us they already sold it. They asked if we would like to go back to the sweltering room so we went to the side and talked about it again. They guy ran up to the room, checked and the temp was 78. After talking about it for a few minutes, we regrettably decided to take the sweltering hot room because they told us we would not get a refund for our night's stay, so we again approached the front desk and lo and behold, that room had been sold. Overall the stay was not great. When I sat on the bed and lift my feet to lay down I rolled into a whole in the middle of the bed. The pillows and the bed was horrible. Bedding was wrinkled. Minus one star for the poor parking situation. The provide long term parking for the airport, which means you are fighting for spaces constantly. "Could have been better"
The clerk who checked us in was alright. He ran my credit card to cover incidentals. We came for morning breakfast, wanted some waffles. Waffle iron was off/unplugged. Attendant wasn't around but there was still batter available for the iron. Some of the fruit was very low in stock. Tables in the dining area needed cleaning. It was about 8:30 or 8:45, […] but the breakfast area should have been kept up better, even near the end of breakfast. Housekeeping came by while we were in the room. We asked for a fresh set of towels, soap and shampoo. She was short one washcloth and gave us a very soiled bath towel. It was disgusting. When we checked out, the clerk on duty didn't give me a receipt showing they didn't charge me for incidentals. Told me I got my receipt from Expedia, who I booked my room through. He told me so with a mouthful of breakfast. The room was okay. It was non-smoking. I used the rest room about 2 am and it smelled as if someone had just smoked a cigarette in the rest room. Registration staff suggested we take our rental car back the night before our early-morning flight which we ended up doing. They sent a shuttle to pick us up and then we took the shuttle the next morning to catch our flight. My husband and I went to KC for a weekend getaway. We're always skeptical about staying somewhere new. We were greeted politely as soon as we walked in and helped right away. The guy behind the desk offered us directions and answered our questions. Our room, although had some water damage in the corners, was large and comfortable. The bed was amazing! "Good for a quick stayover"
Several family members stayed here for 1 night while in the KC area. It is very convenient to the airport and they were quick to arrive with the shuttle when I called. They were having some internet connectivity issues when I arrived but other than that, everything was in working order. Beds seem really hard at first, but they do sleep comfortably. "Dirty, broken, slow,"
The hotel is old, service is slow but people are nice. It smells like a retirement home, smoke and mold. The carpet and flooring is breaking up, the elevator takes longer to go 1 floor than our last hotel took to go 15 and feels like it's out of the haunted mansion, the door to the hotel room is loose and hardly shuts right... While this place did have all the amenities of a 3 star, it was not the quality you typically expect of a three star. There were many small maintenance issues that needed to be address. The carpet in our room was coming up from the wall, the lobby and halls could uses some touch up on paint and varnish. The beds very extremely uncomfortable. After reading the online reviews, I was apprehensive about staying here. My experience actually was much better than I anticipated. The room was large and well lit. The carpet was worn, but the desk and chairs were in good condition. The bed was awkward. It was a sleep number mattress; one side was super soft and one side was very firm. The bathroom was updated, which was nice to discover as that had been a complaint of many of the reviews. The pool and hot tub were clean; however, there does not appear to be pool towels. Was awakened by hotel staff @ 9:30 am wanting to know if we were checking out @ 11am...that along with no breakfast was annoying. Full Hot Continental Breakfast - with waffles - turned into Eggs and Sausage, and the sausage made everyone that ate it sick to their stomach the rest of the day. "WORST HOTEL IN KC"
Booked on Hotels.com, 2 nights flying out of KC needed park and fly. Upon checking in they charged me an additional charge for the park and fly because I booked on-line. First room they gave me flooded not sure where the water came from. Flew out and returned a week later very late at night. They gave us a room that had an orange construction grade […] extension cord running from one side of the room to the other to power the lights. The air conditioner was running but we discovered that only the fan was blowing that it didn't cool. Upon looking at it we saw that the cord had been cut and taped back together. The Coffee pot in the room was so gross there were bug wings in the water reservoir part.. It was so late and we were so tired we closed our eyes and prayed there wasn't any bed bugs. "My worst experience ever!"
We checked in at 10 pm and noticed that the bathtub is clogged. Called the front desk for about 15 minutes. Finally they picked up. She said we are gonna find a room for you to change. Nobody called! In the morning, a guy at the front desk said that the manager is not in the hotel and you have used a third party to reserve the hotel. So we can not do […] anything for you, leave for now, and call two days later and talk to the manager. I first called Hotels.com; they called the hotel and they denied the whole thing! They said that they had offered us to change our room, but we have refused!!! Then I called the hotel and asked to talk to the manager. After two days, I finally found manager. I started explaining the situation and once I said that we were four people in the room (the room had two queen beds and was for four people, AND I specified the number of people as four when I reserved in Hotels.com) he kept saying "you are a liar, you didn't say that you are four people"! After hearing this, I wanted to kill this person over the phone if I could! Instead of listening to my complaint, he kept saying that and evaded answering me. "For Sleeping only"
The hotel was fine for sleeping. It is near airport but sound was not a problem . If you are going to spend any time in the room, their cable doesn't have any of the ESPN channels and only about 15 channels available. They also provide parking and a shuttle to the Airport, so with the hotel only about half or less full there were nearly no parking spots […] available for the guests.
