"Not a 3 star hotel!"
I was looking for a cheaper 3 star hotel to stay in for a couple of nights while my wife and I did some shopping. I saw this hotel rated at 3 stars for $56 per night, I thought "what a steal!" During check in there was a manager or hotel employee yelling at a guest. The guest told me not to stay at the hotel. We decided to stay anyway. Got in the room […] and it was old and run down. The toilet seat was disgusting, the shower grout was black in some spots, I was looking for a plug in for the phone charger and there was an inch of dust behind the bed. The "full hot breakfast" was a joke! Powdered eggs and something that resembled sausage links. We passed on those items, but saw a sign for a waffle maker and thought "that'll get us by". We looked and looked but no waffle maker to be seen. So last resort, "we'll just have toast", one look inside the toaster and lost our appetite all together. It was black and disgusting. So after going to McDonald's for breakfast and shopping all day we thought a dip in the pool would be refreshing. Not so much! It was filthy with a bunch of stuff floating in the water. The only positive was the staff, they were very friendly and quick when we ordered more towels. In a nutshell, if u can get past the filth and don't plan on taking advantage of breakfast, its an ok place to stay. For us, next time I will pay for a cleaner hotel. I spent the night after arriving back from a business trip. Our flight was delayed due to weather and a diversion. I arrived after midnight. "Won't take responsibility for problems."
I reserved this room for my wife and daughter after arriving at the KC airport very late at night. Parking was grossly inadequate. The first room provided was not made up. When another room was provided that room was very warm (AC not running, no air moving) and the toilet had some mildew and would not flush after one initial flush. It took over an […] hour for the room to cool off to the point of being comfortable. The continental breakfast was below acceptable quality and staff was rude to customers in the breakfast area. We understand that these things happen from time to time. However, recovery is everything right along with customer satisfaction and this hotel did nothing to take responsibility for any of these issues. That's why I gave them a 1 overall. Before I reserved the room I read the reviews & decided to purchase anyways. Worst decision ever! After we checked in we went up to the room & surprise, the light in the bathroom did not work! She pulled an old Ecolodge key out of her purse and activated it to our room. Then we got into our room only to have 3 light bulbs burnt out and no plug to our bathtub drain. If you are looking for a hotel for the night just to lay your head, this is the hotel for you. If you are looking for a hotel that has been kept up nice with amenities for more than one night, then I would go elsewhere. The staff was nice, but I can't say that for the hotel itself. Our room had Select Comfort beds, however, the controls were not available […] to be able to adjust the firmness of the beds. The only reason I knew they were Select Comfort beds, is because I dropped something on the floor and had to look under the bed and found the controls and air pumps. We had wallpaper torn and hanging as you entered into the room and a loose toilet seat. We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and returned after 3:30 the second day and our room was not cleaned. Someone did come later and ask if we needed anything. There were no towels available in the pool area, when we asked for towels, we were told some would be brought down but no towels were ever delivered. We ended up using towels from our room. "A hotel well past it's prime"
The phrase that comes to mind with this hotel is simply "comically bad" thinking of the trip. Arriving at the hotel we first noticed how awful the parking situation is, this is due to their park and fly program with customers parking in the hotel lot. After a nice long drive around the parking lot trying to find a spot and then another long walk to […] the building, we were greeted with a broken door and a sign pointing you to the other end of the building. After checking in (from a less than pleasant front desk) we headed up to the room to find wallpaper falling off the walls, light bulbs out, a toilet seat half attached, and no toiletries anywhere to be found. We headed downstairs to check out the fitness center and again had to laugh at how poorly maintained things were. The fitness center consists of a Nautilus smith machine, treadmill, cycle, and stair climber. This may sound ok but the room was so tiny that you couldn't actually use the bench properly with the smith machine, the treadmill stuck and bounced, the stair climber would randomly drop from the top to the bottom without tension, the cycle had an odd popping noise with every rotation, the room was so tiny you couldn't use the bench with the smith machine, the water cooler didn't have any form of cup to actually drink the water, and to top it off there was a nice pile of dirty towels thrown in the corner. "hotel near airport"
Chose this hotel because it was near airport, had shuttle service and on-sight eating. The kind lady who checked us in also ran the bar, waited tables in the dinning room and advised us she was the night auditor. Needless to say, dinner took close to two hours as she had six tables to take care of while we were there. Our table of four was presented […] with two different menus; I ordered steak, which meant she had to make a trip to the kitchen to "make sure they still had steak"; lucky me, there was "one left"; however, the baked potato that came with my meal could not be cooked because the microwave had just failed. The food was average to say the least. Morning check out time did not correlate with the room cleaning crews schedule. The crew set up their carts in the hallways before 9:30am. I was traveling with a handicapped person and negotiating the hallway with a walker/wheelchair was nearly impossible. There was also a language barrier, so I could not really communicate that I needed them to move their carts. VERY FRUSTRATING. Two of the cleaning crew had a hair-pulling fight in my presence. The shuttle driver was very helpful and went out-of-his way to assist me with my handicapped Mother. He was on time, as we had scheduled.
