Our room was warm, stuffy and had a weird odor when we first walked into our room. The air conditioner/heater was not working properly. We were only able to get the heater and fan working. The cooling part of the air conditioner did not work. Before unpacking we asked if we could change rooms but were told that they did not have any available rooms. […] Someone from maintenance did come to look at the air conditioner and told us he thought it was working and then he sprayed an air freshener. The odor was so bad that we went to Target to buy a bottle Febreze Air Freshener, which seemed to help. Luckily the temperature outside was not too warm so the fan was okay, but not ideal. "Fine hotel, needs to work on details"
We stay at Hyatt Place brands all the time, and this one was just a bit off. Had some cleaning issues in the room (hairs in shower, dirty cups, etc.) and the staff was just a bit off. Stayed two nights, took an hour to check in, seemed front desk had no idea what was going on. Got room and air conditioner outside room kept turning on and off, kept us up all night, complained and got nothing in return. Next night got a note advising we could ask for there ear plugs, obviously they knew there was a noise issue. Breakfast was alright […] but the cook was very slow at refilling anything. Our AC unit started making a LOUD jackhammer sound around 11pm. I went down to the front desk to inquire about relocating to another room or at least a fan so I could turn off the AC. They said they were booked solid and they had no fans, sorry. I then called their 1-800 # and they eventually offered to move us across town to another hotel! but I was […] not moving 3 kids that were sleeping in the middle of the night and not knowing exactly where this hotel was even located. After this I returned to the front desk and asked that the manager on call be notified suddenly, miraculously a room became available, I was so mad by this point that I moved my family to the new room and managed to get a little sleep. Walking into the lobby the hotel is very impressive but after check in it started to go down hill. The elevators were not clean and a little scary. The hallways were dirty and had a funny smell. "Good location, poor customer service"
Had to wait over an hour to check in, but received four drink coupons. Room was really nice and clean, but the sink on the wetbar backed up during the night. Told them at breakfast that it was backed up and they sent maintenance up right away (we had two rooms side by side and both backed up). He said the sink would have to be snaked after draino did […] not work, and said we would have to move rooms. This is at 9:00 am. I was told it would take 30 min to an hour. After an hour and a half, went down and was given the run around about only having three housekeepers and was told it would take another hour. At three we were given the key to one room and it took till almost 6 to get the key to the other room. It was obvious the woman working the counter did not want to do any extra work to make our stay nice. The gentleman that was working the desk was trying, but it still did not get done. It really ruined the entire day for our family and we were not able to go do everything we wanted to do for the day because we were in limbo at the hotel. When we checked out we did receive vouchers for two free nights, but I don't know if we will use them. First they were offering a cheaper rate upon check in than when I booked and didn't know how to make the adjsutment. The staff seemed experienced and not service orientated. They seemed understaffed as we had to wait in line to check in, no one was covering the service counter (multiple times we tried). Breakfast was supposed to be out by 7 a.m. and […] it wasn't. For a Hyatt - dissatisfied with the breakfast setup. The front lobby is where everyone tries to squeeze in to eat. No staff were walking around cleaning off tables that were previously used. When I checked in, I had no idea where the front desk is, it is the same counter of the food for sale. When I got there to pick it up, they said they couldn't find it. Someone took my suit and the only people with access to the room is the cleaning staff, so for you to tell me you can't find it tells me your staff stole it, and then lied about it. "Lots of space"
The room we got on the second floor (218) was very large and had a nice sitting area. We traveled with two young kids and were able to setup our pack-n-play and little 3'x3' sleep tent with no problem. Hyatt I thought based on the newer ones had a deal with bath & body and I looked forward to that inviting smell in the lobby but it wasn't there. Also the toiletries weren't the b&b products I have found in other Hyatt's. But the item that grossed me out was the vinyl shower curtain. I've gotten spoiled to the ones they can take down and wash. Check in started at 3pm, we arrived about 5:30, they said they had no double rooms ready. They could not give me an estimated time that it would be ready either. They said they could get me into a smaller room immediately, so they showed me one, they said it was the same price as our larger room, I told them that would not work since we had 5 staying […] in the room. I asked if we could get a refund to stay at a different location, but they said our money was tied up in the 3rd party. We ended up getting our room about 6:40, with no real apologies.
