"Comfortable, clean, & close to the cruiseport"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Free shuttle to the hotel from airport. Nice exercise room and pool. Room was very comfortable, staff friendly, and hotel was well-maintained and clean. Shuttle provided by hotel to points of interest and cruiseport. Definite return stay next time catching a cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale.

This is a woonderful place to stay. The employees were all nice and concerned that our stay was comforable. The only thing that kept this place from getting all 5's was there were dead bugs in the pool.

"Outdated dump"
Really dirty and out of date. Switched rooms because the first one had a broken lock!!!
"great desk worker"
I forgot my tie for a wedding. The guy working at the desk went to his car and let me borrow his personal tie. For that reason, this place gets a great review. It is a small simple place - good for the price.
"across from beach"
unfortunately being across from the beach is the only good thing about this hotel. Would never stay there again
price was right but hotel needs new carpeting, new beds, paint job, and better pillows, bathroom was clean but our balcony door didnt lock.

"Great location - needs a make-over"
We knew not to expect much for these rates on the beach, but it was a bit worse than expected. Water and mold stains on the popcorn ceiling, box spring was broken on one side and liner was hanging down. The room was clean, but old and worn. We came back from the beach after our first full day, aroun 4:00, and our room hadn't been cleaned. The maid came […] 15 min. later and we told her to come back the next day since we wanted to nap before getting ready for dinner. Day 2- went out for the morning and returned to the room at 1:00. Room still not cleaned! Put the hang tag on the door knob for maid to clean room ASAP. Room was clean when we returned at 5:00. She didn't leave hand towels or washcloths. Day 3- woke up and discovered the maid didn't leave coffee either. A call to the front desk was worthless. Went out for coffee. Beach was very windy so we decided to hang out at the pool in the afternoon. Ordered 2 iced teas and spinach artichoke dip (not very good and very Small portion) bill came to $15.00. We gave the waitress our cc and whe she returned with the receipt, the total was $26.00! She apologized for mixing ours with someone else's. Hmmmm, good thing we caught it. Back to the room to dress for dinner. Maid only left 2 bath towels, no bathmat, hand towels or washcloths. Another call to the desk. Towels were delivered. Note: upon arrival, we inquired about beach chair and umbrella rental and were told that was not available, but the man across the street on the beach did. $20. Per day for umbrellas & $10 per chair. We found a little store that rented chairs for $4.00 per chair per day and we bought an umbrella for $10.00. On our last day, we saw people being handed chairs and beach towels from behind the desk, so we asked about them. They were FREE! He DID say they weren't for rent! The hotel restaurant, The Deck, has great food at reasonable prices with a beautiful ocean view. That's the only good thing about this place besides the location. They, also, have Read more
Place is great if you wanna party and do drugs... Cause that's the only..rooms stinks and walls can are so thin u can hear the other room snoring...never again!!!!
"Sea Club Resort in Ft Lauderdale, FL"
I never seen anything this in my life... My husband and I were suppose to stay in this hotel one night before going on a cruise. We checked in the room, put our bags in room and to go eat. Came back to the room two hours later and Checked out... The room 319 was unbelievable, set down on the bed the mattress was split, then went in the restroom and […] the mirror popped open... It's was Not a cabinet it was a Big hole with and we don't what was living behind that mirror, but we checked out and the clerk Didnot ask why, and I stated to my husband, that clerk is checking us out with no question and she (clerk)stated you been here for hours. Needless to say we had to find somewhere to stay before we went on our cruise. Not pleased at ALL. Read more

"just ok"
nice to be right across from the beach for an affordable rate, but they need to replace the matresses, and wash some windows in the common areas, it"s defenitely an older motel type, but quaint. The resterant has good reasonable prices and a great view. 1 mile from Los Olas Blvd. would stay for a short stay to be right accross the beach at their pric […] es. Read more
"You get what you pay for"
Right on the beach, but pretty shabby. Ratty carpet, paper thin walls, threadbare bedding, broken shower head. We weren't expecting a lot and still pretty disappointed.
"Buyer Beware"
The motel next door which had a better price was more clean than this one. Every day I asked for the room to be cleaned. I left every day ~ 8 a.m., and at 3 p.m. the room was still not clean. Around 4:30, the room gets "cleaned." Basically all they do is make the bed (no new sheets, even when you request new ones), and move around whatever sand or dirt […] fell on the floor to the side of the room. I went to target and bought detergents to clean the bathroom. And every day you get less towels than what you started with. I really would not recommend staying here. Even if it is on the "cheaper" side compared to the Hilton and W, I am telling you the two motels on that strip are cleaner, have better rooms, and better prices. Read more

"Biggest dump I ever stayed in my life"
This has to be the worst maintained hotel in the world. Whoever owns this place likely is a slum lord in some inner cities. The place is just disgusting and I hope I don't come down with some disease. I can understand that the economic conditions are difficult that the owner is obviously not putting 1 penny back into the property. The ceiling in my […] bathroom was caving in a drywall and insulation dust was raining down all over the bathroom. The carpets were sticky and every surface was slimy. Just a frigging horror show Read more
"Don't bother staying in this Ft Lauderdale hotel"
This is one of the dumpiest hotels I've ever been to. I drove up to the hotel and I was immediately surprised how run down this place is. It looks like it hasn't been renovated or fixed in any matter in the last 40 years. The rooms are disgusting. The carpet is dirty, the TV doesn't work, the refrigerator is on a makeshift piece of plywood supported […] by a 2x4. It looks like something I can do and I'm not handy at all. It says it has wifi but it was so so slow. Needless to say I checked out first thing in the morning. DON'T STAY HERE. Read more
"Sea Club Resort Ft Lauderdale"
Great location, nice people, place needs repairs and updating. Visible lint and dust in the bathroom vent was almost clogging the vent, tub faucet very leaky and shower temperature depended on who nearby might be flushing a toilet. Room was clean, just needed maintenance. Great cheap crash pad for beach activities. Internet worked fine.
"Sea club"
Under the heading of you get what you pay for. I was in town for Fort Lauderdale half marathon. Great location, and half the price of the Hilton and westin. A little dated. Great beach access. I had no complaints because I was price and location sensitive. I would classify hotel as decent
We booked that motel because of the price and it's closeness to our son's work. He is a park ranger at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park. We did not spend a lot of time at the hotel. Our time was spent with our son.
"Great location, old hotel."
This place was what I expected based on prior reviews. The location was great but the hotel is old. The bathroom had been retiled with nice tile but the shower was impossible to regulate temperature in, either scalding hot or ice cold. There were a lot of stains on the carpet in the halls.
"Worst check-in experience ever"
My boyfriend and I booked a room here because the price was right and it was right on the beach. An email confirmation let me know that check-in was at 3:00pm. We arrived at 3:15 and were told that many of the rooms, ours included, had yet to be cleaned. We were asked to come back in an hour. We went back after about an hour and a half. At this point […] the line was almost out the door. While we waited, other customers kept walking in complaining about other issues. One couple even. Brought their keys back after successfully checking in, demanding a refund. It took us 30 minutes to get to the front of the line and was told again that our room wasn't ready, and could we "come back in an hour?"!!! Seriously?!? The guy at the front desk sensed my frustration and gave us each one free drink ticket. Gee thanks. After 3 total hours of waiting, we finally were able to get into our room. During this whole fiasco, we witnessed several guests ask to speak with a manager. The guy at the front desk said he wasn't on site. Really? The hotel is that busy and the manager doesn't think it is necessary to be there to help out the staff? I realize that we get what we pay for but this hotel is a total dump. The ceilings and walls looked like they were about to fall to the ground. Our room had iron stains all over the carpeted floor. Our kitchenette had no dishes or utensils. The one redeeming quality this hotel and the entire experience had was the guy working the front desk. He was checking people in, answering the phone, taking customer complaints, all the while never losing his cool. Maybe he should be the hotel manager since the actual one doesn't take his job seriously enough to be at work when he's most needed. Read more
"Sea club room was musty smelling. In thediscovered"
Sea club room was musty smelling. In the morning I discovered the toilet pipe leaked and the carpet was moldy. The 2nd morning I discovered either spider or flea bites on my legs. There isn't enough parking, so cars block each other in the lot. I wouldn't go back to sea club although the location is great.
"Black Mold!"
I stayed at this hotel 6 years ago and recommended it to my daughter 3 years ago, but it has gone WAY down hill! they have a terrible mold problem, anyone with asthma or allergy would not be able to stay here. It is filthy! conditions are diplorable and discusting! hotels.com should re-evaluate this hotel. no longer a suitable hotel.
"It ain't the Ritz"
Our stay was good overall..friendly, convenient to dining and directly across the beach..free beach chairs and towels were provided. The hotel is definately an older and well used stucture.
"Retro Should NOT be a rundown word"
but in this case it is. I found the room comfortable and clean. The hallways were small with stained, worn rugs. Seemed like the solution for age was to gob paint on it. The view from the right side of the building was into a dirty drive way and the neighboring hotel's beautiful pool. The other side had a view onto the street and the trash bin. If I […] strained to lean over the rail of my balcony, I could get a view of the beach. I found it interesting that they charged a daily fee for a lock box in your room whether you wanted to use it or not. The security chain on my door had been broken off and the slider had been pried open. So to sum it up. The hotel was cheaper than the rest on the strip but next time I'll pay a little more. No I will not be recommending this to any Friends. Read more
"Sea Club Disappointment"
The hotel's bathroom was not clean. The room did not have a microwave. The coffee maker was broken. However, the hotel would not reconsider a charge of $2.50 per day for a safe usage that I did not need. The bed was too firm for comfort. I plan NOT to stay at this hotel on my next visit to Fort Lauderdale.
"Very Happy with my stay at the Seaclub"
I am very happy with my stay at the Seaclub. The price was right - being on a budget this was very important to me. The property is a "real" beachfront property - which was a pleasant surprise! The hotel is a no frills budget hotel, but keeping that in mind, the room was extremely clean, the free wifi and free breakfast were great to have, and the hotel […] staff was very friendly and helpful. I'm definitely coming back here - my family loved ths place as well. It's great for a beach getaway! Read more

"Don't stay here"
I stayed 4 nights at this hotel. The first night the room was filthy. I demanded a new room or I would leave. They gave me another room that was only slightly better. Everything in the hotel is dirty. The rooms, hallways and elevator. Parts of the hotel near the lobby smelled like sewage. The only thing going for this hotel is location. It is across […] the street from the beach and near restaurants and bars. Read more
"Vacation"
Was an older hotel but right across from the beach. Staff was pleasant and nice.
"run down, not maintained. BELIEVE the reviews"
Disregard the Mgt's. standard-responses to customer's reviews. BELIEVE the reviews. The rooms are not maintained as claimed. Smudge marks all over the mirror. The TV shorted out and was replaced w/ a grainie pictured TV. Would not switch rooms. Desk to maint. man over their radio "check with room ** and see what she wants, I'm too busy to mess with […] her." Filthy, unkept, A/C unit louder than a tank when it kicked in. Unbelievalbly poor. Restaurant had great view. Read more

"sea club resort fort lauderdale florida"
Bed should have ben put in a land fill 20 years ago , I had to fold bedspread and place under sheets so the springs would not poke me and the hotel is very shabby and dirty and I checked out early .
"30th anniversary stay"
We arrived early and of coarse room not ready. They were going to call but never did. Hotel is old and not well maintained. We felt dirty in the room but it might have been clean. I would not recommend this hotel. We did not complain because we should have done our homework better.
"Sea Club Hotel in Fort Lauderdale"
I ended up sleeping on the bed with my clothes on. This was the filthiest hotel room I have ever seen. Bugs were crawling on the bathtub, carpets in the room and hallway were extremely dirty. The mattress was old, hard, and made crunchy noises when turning over on them. This hotel needs rehabbing big time. The website photos are long outdated, very […] deceiving and do not portray the condition of the hotel at all. I will never recommend to anyone this hotel unless extensive upgrading is done.
