THE ROOM WAS NOT AS CLEAN AS IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN. THIS HOTEL NEEDS A MAKEOVER, IT'S QUITE OBVIOUS THAT IT'S A VERY OLD HOTEL AND THE ROOMS NEED REMODELING, ESPECIALLY THE BATHROOMS!

I did not expect a "palace" but this was the most disgusting place I have ever stayed. It is so old and has not been taken care of. Dirty, roof leaks, terrible bed linens, an air conditioner that was so loud we had to turn it off (let me remind you it was south Florida and 90 degrees)! If we had not booked this through Hotels.com we would have demanded our money back and walked out instead of staying the night.

I booked this hotel for a two night stay, not expecting much after reading some of the bad reviews. I'm so glad I decided to try this hotel especially with the low rate. The staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to find me an extension cord to use. The breakfast choices are somewhat limited but still a basic breakfast. Check in/out was quick and efficient. Room was very clean and the beds were very comfy. As for the train noise mentioned in other reviews. A commuter train does run nearby but it does NOT run at night. It starts early in the morning for those commuting into Miami. This could be a benefit to travelers not wanting to fight through Miami rush hour! I will definitely stay in this hotel again and have recommended it to other business associates already!

The staff was helpful and pleasent. The surrounding were nice and clean. The only issue was the train track behind the hotel and a high speed train is passing behind the hotel almost every 2 to 3 hours, tooting its horn. This starts sometime around 6AM and continues throughout the day. After a few days we started joking about it. Maybe that is why you get such a good price.

The water went all over the floor used up all the towels to clean the bath room. It was a mess.We had to walk about a i/2 mile to get to the room on the outside of the building at night very close to a busy street not safe for two females. I was not happy with the room.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel the week of Feb 10 through Feb 14 of 2009 and could not have been more dissatified with this property. The room smelled terrible and the train noise was unbearable. The hotel is located at a major intersection with a ralroad crossing. The train passes at all times of the day and night (almost every 15 minutes) and blows a VERY loud horn everytime. You will never get a good night sleep at this hotel and it was miserable. I travel extensively and stay in many different hotels. I would highly NOT reccommend this hotel to anyone who desires a good night sleep. We also requested that the sheets be changed, but never were.

Everything was average about this hotel with the exception of its pool area. The pool area was beautiful. For the price paid the room was well below standard. This was more like an inn with a beautiful pool. I, personally, was paying for a room not a pool. Room resembeled an inn and was well overpriced. I have gotten much better rooms for the price paid. Continental breakfast was bare bones as well. You can find better for the price....overall this place is very average.

The hotel itself was quite nice; the rooms being neither spectacular nor shabby as I read on some of the posts. The hotel has a swimming pool and sitting area and also includes a dining room that does not open until 5 PM, but they do give you a free continental breakfast from 7-10 a.m. The only problem I found was check-in time was at 3 pm and when we tried to check in and the male manager on duty realized we booked thru hotels.com, he was very uncooperative and quite rude. He told us our rooms were not ready but folks who had reserved their rooms directly with the hotel were served right away. Thankfully, when this man went off duty and donned his red jacket to work at Red Roof Inn across the street, a woman came on duty and she was very nice and very helpful.
