Bad hotel. Old and falling apart. Had to pay for wifi and it didn't work most the time. Nasty breakfast. Mattress from 1970. Worst part: for "security" reasons they require you to leave your key at the front desk. I walked up that night at midnight said a room number and they just handed me a key without checking ID or asking for my name. I never left […] them my key for the remaining part of my stay. "Very close to Duomo"
The Breakfast was a joke... lack of fruit varieties (only 2 kinds) and long wait to toast your bread. I waited a good 25 mins. for my turn. No free WIFI they are charging 3 Euros per hour. They also didn't change the bedsheets and when I asked they said they do it on the 4th day. The mirror wasn't cleaned and the towels were not replaced.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice, convenient hotel"
I plan on getting lost when I travel so needing a little help to find the hotel wasn't too bad, didn't take a huge effort. The pictures are accurate and the hotel is clean and comfortable. Has the charm and history I prefer over a place becomes generic. The convenience can't be beat - just steps from so much. Adequate room - not crowded. My only warning […] would be to do homework before going with any of the tours they have at the front desk. After many warnings about the long lines at the Uffizi, we had the hotel book the listed tour for us and believe it said "private tour." It was about triple the entrance cost per person but with the promise that we wouldn't have to wait in line and would have the guided tour. Once the group of about 20 of us met - not private - we went to stand in line! We had provided a credit card number to the hotel to book the tour but then the tour wanted the credit card number again; we still have to wait and see to be sure that we weren't charged twice. The docent said that due to time (1.5 hours), she would only show us the highlights. She spent so much time on very little and started to lose people in our group. We eventually went on our own or wouldn't have seen Boticelli or other significant works. When we got back, I told the hotel that them recommending this is a bad reflection on the hotel and they should reconsider. Staff was very helpful with letting us use some utensils, getting us ice, and opening a bottle of wine. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Price, Great Location"
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. This a 3 star rated hotel, but the location worked great! I was right near the Dome and as a single female traveler, I felt really safe with my surroundings. The staff was friendly and helpful by answering questions and helping me get information that I needed. I would recommend this location for anyone who is […] willing to stay at a 3 star hotel and have the convenience of location, a great price and friendly hotel staff. "Best possible location compensates bad maintenance"
After difficulties finding a parking place in an overcrowded Florence, hotel staff competently helped me to fix that and other problems. The hotel location is perfect and the staff nice and fast. Pity that the hotel management seems to be saving money in maintenance.Genuine Expedia guest review
"great located hotel"
it is located just a few meters from the main attraction, very easy to go everywhere. the breakfast was good, the staff was very nice. the only problem was that the internet wasn't working unless the lobby, but it is a minor issue to who is seeking vacationGenuine Expedia guest review
The location was great. The room was decently priced. The staff was nice and helpful. The room was clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It's located in a very safe zone in the center of Firenze. It's a few blocks away from the train station, and close to atms, resaurants, in front of a good gelateria, next to good restaurants...Genuine Expedia guest review
You can't ask for a better location, down a short narrow street from Giotto's Campanille and across the street from the best gelato in Florence. The hotel is clean, the staff efficient. You are in the heart of Dante's Florence and close to everything. I was amazed at the quality and location given the price. This isn't 4-star, but it is very good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Would not stay again"
We were very unhappy with the service and the internet was suppose to be free and we were charged had to close out and resign in every time. The safe was broken and we asked for two beds and received one. The beds were hard. We were told the room would be changed and was not. No view looking at a wall. Not flexible with a late check out wanted to charge […] for one extra hour. "OK, but beware"
If you are beyond a hostel but traveling low budget this hotel may be for you. The very best thing that can be said is that the location is fabulous to the Cathedral/Duomo, Uffizzi Gallery, Galileo Museum and the Acadamy (?) where the Michaelango's David is. That being said, the rooms are old, small, furniture and drapes look like Goodwill retreads […] and the staff, while earnest are very iffy in problem-solving. Florence is NIGHTMARE to drive in. No GPS on the planet can lead you to the hotel (perhaps different now) because of constantly changing street closures that no GPS can keep up with. Parking will cost you 30 euros per day and you will be surprised at the hoops it takes to make it all happen. Our room was so small with a double bed that it was not possible to open two medium/large suitcases at the same time in the space. I used a tool I brought to extract a bulb-broken stub from a bedside lamp. They gave me a replacement which I installed. Once again, location great, hotel nothing to remember, but good for a night Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"1-1.5 Star Hotel Posing as 3 Star"
Beware- this is a 1 to 1.5 (very generously) star hotel, posing as a 3 star. The location close to the duomo is the only thing that makes this hotel remotely worth considering. Otherwise, the hotel rooms are old and not updated, not very clean, and the bathroom (in our room) was dreadful. The shower was in the middle of the bathroom WITHOUT any shower […] panels, door, or curtain- the ENTIRE bathroom would get wet every time we showered. Moreover, their wi-fi rates are exorbitant. For the money, I would NOT recommend this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great for being close to all the sights"
This was a wonderful hotel to stay at. It's exactly what you'd expect from a 3 star hotel: clean, professional staff, and a convenient continental breakfast. The hotel is mere steps from the Duomo so convenient to all the usual sights.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient center location"
Great budget hotel in a good location. Walking distance from the train station (Yes, doable with luggage in tow. I know because we did it). Easy to find because it is literally right next to the Duomo. The David is just a short walk away and all the other main sights and attractions are nearby as well. It's in the middle of everything. Felt very safe […] in the area at night. Oh, and there is an awesome gelato place right across from the hotel open until midnight! I really recommend this place. It's not fancy but great for the price and you won't be staying in your room a lot anyways. FYI, only free wi-fi for an hour is included but you can pay if you really need more time and the price is reasonable. There is also a tiny elevator so you don't have to carry your luggage up a lot of stairs which is a problem in many European hotels. Overall, decent stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"very good location"
Very good location. Room was not too comfortable - mattrasses and pillows were very firm, not comfortable at all. Air conditioner in the room did not work - i asked three days in a raw to fix it but it never worked (it actually was blowing the air but was not cooling). "This not a three star hotel"
We ended up with what must be the worst room in the hotel. Shuttered windows opened up on the first floor courtyard which was also the smoking room. Room cooling required service attention. "Decent Hotel for the Price"
This hotel was fair for the price but it was noting special. The street it is on is going through major construction so that took away some of the appeal. It is also kind of creepy and weird. They make you leave your key with the front desk. The breakfast was AWFUL. it was some stale rolls set out so don't count on that. "Convenient hotel right by the dome"
Good location, very central - right behind the dome and tower. Breakfast was sufficient - the usual cereal, croissants, cold meats, cheese, yogurt, whole fruit (mostly bruised though), and tea and coffee. Staff were pleasant. The only things that bothered me was 1) the aircon that did not work - it emitted warm air instead of cold air. This seems like […] a common problem with Italian hotels. We had to sleep with windows open, which was noisy. 2) It's a rule to hand in our keys at reception each time we left the hotel, 3) we have to be 'let in' to the floor of our room by ringing the door bell - every time we got back. "Worst hotel ever-Hotel De Lanzi"
worst hotel ever been!! the room was extra small, to the point that i had to carry the suitcase over the bed. Bathroom was ok. There is no free wi-fi, and internet was VERY expensive. I made a 1 minute phone call having to use the receptions phone because the phone would not work in my room, and they charged me $5.25 EUROS which is about $8.00 for 60 […] seconds of a phone call!. i understand if the call was made from the comfort in my own room but i was at the lobby in my pajamas using the phone which the receptionist had to turn over the counter in order for me to use it. The breakfast was very cheap, only a few croissants, coffee. The personnel at the reception was very mean, not helpful at all. The only good thing about this hotel was the location, NOTHING else. You couldn't get any closer to the Duomo if you tried. You can actually see the cathedral from the front door of the hotel. It is literally steps away from anywhere you want to be. "Don't get your hopes up!"
The only thing really good about this hotel is the location. I paid the high room rate, because I saw that people were giving it four stars, but I have no idea what they were thinking. The rooms are old, small, and uncomfortable, with no ammenities like free wi/fi. The breakfast was minimal. Don't show up with a car, or you'll be stuck having someone […] pick it up and take it to a garage somewhere for another 25 euros on top of the high room rate. "Hotel De Nasty...Roach Motel"
The room had a very sour, dusty and stangnant odor in it and when reported to the manager she said there was nothing she can do and that if I checked out I would lose my prepaid money to Expedia...not let me try and fix this or switch your room. In any case they say a picture is worth a thousand words...so below are 2 pictures worth about 5000 words. […] This is what you will be breathing in at Hotel De Lanzi. Not even worthy of 1 star let alone 3. The sad thing is since the manager didn't even offer to remedy my problem I had to physically clean the filter in the bathroom shower. "Hotel De Lanzi Florence, Italy"
As a solo traveler, my room was a single which means "basic". I had college dorm rooms that were bigger than my hotel room. My room came with its own bathroom which was nice and it was clean as was the room. Breakfast was included. The hotel itself is dated and is showing its age, but then again you're in Florence and the whole city is dated. Location […] of the hotel to all the major sites is excellent. You are only 15 yards from the Duomo and 5 to 10 minutes from the Uffizi Gallery and Accademia. If you need a gelato fix there is a shop directly across from the hotel entrance. "Simple hotel in a fabulous location"
The hotel is in a great location close to the Duomo and within walking distance of just about all of the sites of interest. The room was simple, but clean. This is not the place if you want high luxury, but a clean, good room for the price. Our room faced the street, so there was a bit of street noise until fairly late at night given the restaurant […] and gelato store nearby. Nonetheless, we would recommend it. "good location and good room for the price"
Disappointed that wi fi was not free (extra charge of 5 euros per day) and that were asked to pay "Florence city fee" of 3 euros per day. Both of these were cash items, and particularly for the "city fee"--why would it have to be cash if it's really legitimate?Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Duomo right there"
Overall it was fine. If you are looking for fancy service, with staff at your beck and call, this is not for you. But if you are looking for a convenient, central location, with a clean bed and clean bathroom, this is ideal. It could use some maintenance, but I felt safe. The breakfast was standard self-serve.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Excellent location, just 100 feet from the Duomo and other sightseeings. Due to its location, it can get really noisy if tourists linger on the street below after hours. Internet access costed us $5 for 24 hours or more expensive in the common area. I think they meant up to 12 midnight for the daily rate. We couldn't get good reception in our room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Convenient, centrally located."
I was on vacation through Italy and stayed here for 3 days. It's conveniently located near the Duomo and the main avenue (shopping). It's a little outdated, but clean and convenient.
