"Gets the job done"
It was a nice hotel, perfectly situated right near Il Duomo. It was clean, but no thrills. Basically a place to sleep. Not saying it's a bad thing, but not a place to be romanticGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean basic rooms in great location."
Perfectly located hotel in the heart of Florence right next to the Duomo. Staff was very helpful. Reasonable price. By no means a luxury hotel but served it's purpose as a place to shower and sleep. Overall a pleasant stayGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Rooms are aweful, more like a one star as opposed to three star ratingGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Average hotel, good customer service, excellent location. Would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very good location"
Location is excellent: few blocks away from train station and most attractions are within walking distance. Restaurants/coffee shops/bars/retail stores within yards.Genuine Expedia guest review
"In the heart of Florence"
You can't beat the location of this hotel. My biggest issue was finding it since it is in the Pedestrian area. Once we found everything was great. The Duomo was just across the street and the Tower bells wake you up sharply at 7 am (whether your room faces the Duomo or not). Since most of Florence is easiest to get to by walking, this hotel is an excellent […] place to stay and an excellent value. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Location; Great Price"
Great price; great location! Hotel is very dated but all I can say is location, location, location. Staff was very nice and helpful.. Very confusing driving in Florence but garage associated with hotel is great. They bring the car from the garage to the door and the driver even helped us manipulate all the one ways in Florence. Walk everywhere from […] this hotel. Negative side is it very noisy outside. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A decent hotel near the Duomo"
This was our hotel for our first 2 nights in Florence, so we were tired from our long flight. The hotel was quiet and comfortable. And - unusual for an Italian hotel - the shower was large. It is located only a few blocks from the Duomo and other major attractions.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel was conveniently located for sight seeing, the neighborhood was very much like all the neighborhoods that we encountered. The staff were helpful and courteous, and spoke English, which was a big help. The only drawback was that our room was right off the lobby and very noisy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A great place to stay"
The hotel is comfortable, very clean, centrally located and reasonably priced. A great choice.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice stay in Florence"
The location was awesome! Short walk to the train station. Breakfast was very good typical Italian breakfast. When we checked out we were in a huge hurry to get to the train station and had to wait in line...We asked if we had to sign anything because we knew we were paid up and were hoping to just hand them the key and scoot...but they made us wait […] only to hand them the key and not need to sign anything. That was our only complaint. The room was clean and warm. Our stay was Dec 2011. We were able to walk everywhere from our room and not need a taxi. The double bed was 2 bed pushed together but we managed. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Incredible location for the price - nothing fancy is the trade-off"
I needed a place to crash in transit, because of a very early flight the next day to Paris. I did not realize until I arrived that I was literally one block from the Duomo, and three blocks from the street market. A remarkably good location for the price. I had a single room, which was tiny, with a narrow bed that could never fit two people, but was […] clean and comfortable. The window, which was actually a steel door, opened on to a quiet internal courtyard, but had no screen. Not really a problem. The TV was tiny and ancient and got only one English channel (BBC), but who goes to Florence to watch TV. The bathroom was large, comfortable and newly renovated. No tub, but I did not care about that. Breakfast is included but I had to leave too early to enjoy. The staff were very courteous, and even lent me some tools to open my jammed suitcase. All in all, a good deal for a single traveller looking for convenience and location and not worried about frills. I would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The basic requirements and amenities are fine. The room was comfortable but small; clean and quiet. I liked that the air conditioning worked well (not always the case in Italy). Jump out the door of the hotel and you are in the middle of the action in Florence. The Duomo bell tower serves as your 7.00 am alarm clock. The breakfast was also basic but […] the self serving area was cramped. The staff were accommodating and responsive. Walking distance (1 km.) from the train or bus station. Not recommended if you have a lot of luggage but otherwise a 12 minute walk. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
A room with 4 beds. Only few steps from the Duomo Sta. María de la Fiore. The es icecream just across the street. Incredible serviceGenuine Expedia guest review
It was ideal in terms of its location. Walkable distance to all the great sights. However it is an older hotel and could be better maintained. Room was small and the carpets were a little stale. But the overall impression was still ok. The location made up for the small defects.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Oldy, run-down, no access by car"
As an Expedia pick I thought this hotel would be a good choice. If I could I would have cancelled my reservation when I found it's in a pedestrian area, next to the Duomo, not accessible by car. When you have luggage at the end of your trip that's a pain. The building is old, like you would expect in central Florence, not a problem. But the inside […] is old too. The room had a smell to mold, I really didn't feel good and comfortable, but it was ok for 1 night. The location is convenient for those visiting Florence for the first time and willing to explore the central area on foot. However, it's noisy at night, since there's a famous ice cream shop across the street where people line up and make a meeting point around the place. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This hotel has one of the best locations in all Florence. It is conveniently located half a block from the Cathedral and its surrounding area. 5-10 minute walks from interesting sites such as the Acacemy (David's home) and stores. It is run by its owners, so great service is a guarantee. The beds are bit uncomfortable, but enough to get a good night […] rest. The Bathroom is clean, the building is an ancient Florentine house, but well kept. If location is a priority, this is the hotel to stay in. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to Doumo and Piazza del Signoria"
But a very dark and dreary hotel. The room I had was so small, I could touch each wall with a hand. It wasn't worth the price. Granted we don't stay in our hotels much when travelling, but this place, I dreaded going back to at the end of each day.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location, Poor Condition"
This Hotel is located at the heart of the Florence, all the attractions within walking distance but the Hotel condition itself was poor, very small compacted room and not very convenient.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very near the Duomo, but very uninviting"
The hotel staff was very nice. The location was in the middle of the action. Across the street from a VERY good gelato shop. The breakfast was fairly good. The hotel is extremely outdated and seemed very dirty. The shower was full of mold. The undersheets on the bed were full of hair and dirt. The tv did not work. You just felt dirty being there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient, but old"
This is a very conveniently-located hotel in the heart of Florence, within walking distance of all major sites and literally around the corner from the Duomo. While adequate, the hotel is very old, which shows particularly in the bathrooms, which have not been updated in a long time. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating, the breakfast buffet […] was very ample and good. A plus was the hotel's agreement with a local garage - staff picked up and delivered our car, reducing necessity of driving in Florence. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"OUTSTANDING FRONT DESK STAFF. Great location!"
The front desk staff at Hotel De Lanzi are fantastic. They were instrumental in making our short stay in Florence memorable. Be sure to ask them to make reservations for you at the various museums around town...this will save you from having to wait in VERY LONG lines. De Lanzi is directly across the street from GROM (the BEST gelatto you will ever […] taste). Walking distance to everything. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Hotel Scandinavia - Venice"
We arrived late in the evening and were met by Thomas, the night desk clerk, who was very kind, helpful, offered advice on Venice and spoke English very well. The hotel, 1,000 years old, was very well kept, our room was very clean with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was standard fare for Italy; bed, jams, cereal, milk, juice and coffee. Located on a piazza […] which made it that much more inviting, close, in Venice terms, to most things. Very nice and would recommend it to anyone. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel de Lanzi - Florence - March 2011"
Hotel is great for the money you pay. Very easy to locate. Room is clean, has a nice wireless internet connection that u pay by buying some pre-paid cards. Breakfast is the standard european style. Bathroom was clean and hot water available (specially in winter). I kept my bag several hours after checkout with no problems.Genuine Expedia guest review
"In the middle of a ton of shopping stores"
This Hotel was within walking distance to a lot of shops and restaurants. However, It took us forever to find it. When we did we realized there wasn't any street parking in area. We left our car in a parking garage about 4 blocks away, which by the way was pricey. Check in was quick and easy. Staff was very helpful on giving us suggestions of places […] to eat. The room itself was very small. The bathroom was clean although it didn't have an exhaust fan so it stayed humid in there. The shower was a single standup shower that was very small. Washing my hair I would hit my elbows on the shower door. Although it is hotel policy to turn in your hotel key every time you leave the hotel nothing ever came up missing. "Great Hotel in a brilliant location"
Hotel had a great feel to it and the room we were in had great views of the Duomo (rm 203 - Twin) Room was big with high ceilings and due to the location was a bit noisy at night (easily solved though by closing the window). Staff were friendly and helpful even when I got locked out of the room 2 nights running. "Great location but that's about it."
The Hotel location is excellent. Right near the Duomo. Unfortunately the hotel itself is pretty shoddy. The room was in desperate need of a make-over. Very old looking. The air-conditioning was very loud and hardly worked (we really needed this as it was 35ºC) we had to turn it off to try and sleep. The window opened onto an alleyway full of dustbins […] and smelled quite bad. There was no view just the wall opposite that was about 6 feet away. Also the electrics kept flicking on and off and one day just went off completely. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Top notch location"
Good value for money. Excellent location; we could see the Duomo from the restaurant and it was only a minute (literally) walk from it. The only downside was that the wifi wasn't free and in fact was quite expensive.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Location great, staff not."
Location was great however the staff were rude and unhelpful. Booking states parking is included however you have to pay for your car to be returned to you - didn't know this until we were expected to pay. No information was provided about reaching the hotel, i.e restricted areas to drive through. Hotel has a driver but the guy behind reception was […] awful at explaining the car situation. Breakfast was basic. Luckily we had got a very good price and had not paid the going rate for the room as is not worth the full price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Shabby and there !!!"
We paid 60 euro's and that included breakfast !!! We opened our windows to the duomo ?? The room was clean and old. The windows were old but you could see out. The bed was flat and you could sleep and the shower had water. I expect this hotel has some really nasty rooms, however ours was fine and for the money and location and cost excellent. Some people […] have complained about the breakfast !!! They obviously have kippers or Kedgeree served on a silver platter by Holmes the butler usually !!!! Not!!! It is basic but good. I think 2-3 days in this hotel is fine....... If going for a week, spend a bit more to stop you from wringing xxx PS. The staff were very pleasant and the lifts a wee bit scary !! "Really great location, hard to find parking."
When we stayed in Florence there was a heatwave (41oC) and so the air-conditioning was a must. Room was clean and perfectly fit-for-purpose. Bathroom and shower were good. Staff were friendly and spoke excellent English. Getting to the parking for the Hotel turned into a bit of a nightmare when the Tom-Tom wanted to take us down a road that was only […] for buses/taxis (by the station). It then took us 45 minutes to find a way through the one-way systems of Florence to get to the correct side of the station to reach the car-park. Each hotel has a deal with a different car-park, so another hotel's car-park might just have easily been as difficult to reach! The car-park (and the staff) were good and not bad value at 25 Euros per night. The only let-down with our stay was the breakfast which wasn't up to much, a fairly poor buffet with a lot of processed, pre-packaged foods laid out on plates. The breakfast room was also a bit cramped, but let's face it - you don't go to Florence to eat breakfast and the proximity of this hotel to Il Duomo and many other attractions in the old city can't be beaten. Practically on the Duomo's doorstep. Clean, air conditioned, good breakfast with lots of choice. Reasonably priced Internet. Amazing location in the city centre. Keep in mind no mini bar but staff are very niceGenuine Expedia guest review
Room we stayed in was near to the outdoor area and where the breakfast crockery was stored - it obviously didn't occur to staff that clanging crockery and trolleys at 3am in the morning would disturb their customers sleep.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel de Lanzi was a good hotel. The room was comfortable but too hot at night. The AC isn't very powerful. Breakfast was great, hotel staff was ok. The location of the hotel is absolutely perfect next to the duomo. Stayed in july 2013Genuine Expedia guest review
Booked for two nights. Upon discovering the hotel we were concerned that it was in an apartment building. We then got the lift up and found ourselves staring at a security door with a cctv canera staring at us waiting to be buzzed in. After checking in we were told we had to hand the key in whenever we left the hotel this was quite unusual and we didn't […] feel this was secure but nevertheless we had no choice. The hotel is in an amazing location a 10 second walk to the camp a nile tower. "Great central location, bad for parking"
The hotel is in a very central location, next to the Duomo and very near the Uffizi. The rooms are rather small but very clean and the breakfast also very good, although you will be charged for real Italian coffee (free machine coffee is available though). If you travel by train the hotel is about 15' walk from the station. If you want to take your […] car make sure to speak with the hotel in advance, remember that you are not allowed to enter the city centre with your car. Alternatively you can park at Firenze Fiera which is one of the cheapest of the hourly parkings (€1.60/h in July 2013). The hotel is about 20' walk away from the parking so make sure that you can carry all of your bags. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Room was small but we were pleased overall. It was close to all the major downtown attractions. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. The bathroom was modern. great location for all site seeing very central, good value for money. good local restaurants right next door! train and bus station only 15 minute walk.Genuine Expedia guest review
Location Brilliant, The lady at the front was behaving like the school head teacher belting out conditions for our stay which we listened - one of them was that any guest has to leave the room keys at the counter before going out any where . Then that day evening she nearly gave our room keys to another group- it was just pure luck that we also reached […] at the same time and the confusion was avoided. "Some Pros although many Cons"
Pros:Hotel De Lanzi is in a great location right in the middle of Florence, walking distance to all major attractions and only a €10 taxi ride from Florence train station. The breakfast was good. Cons: As the hotel is right in the city centre the street noise was at times quite bad. The wifi wasn't free and was charged at a rate of €5 per 24hrs ( one […] device only ), which I thought was slightly petty and we had a number of speed and connection issues. While the staff answered all our questions / queries they were not particularly helpful or enthused. The bed was extremely hard and it felt like we were sleeping on the ground, which was a shame as beside this, the room was good. Due to the bed and a random polish drinking party in the next room at 3AM on our second night, we didn't get much sleep either of our two nights at Hotel De Lanzi which ruined the experience for us.
