"This not a three star hotel"
We ended up with what must be the worst room in the hotel. Shuttered windows opened up on the first floor courtyard which was also the smoking room. Room cooling required service attention. Worst room of our entire European vacation. Breakfast was uninspired. Location is fantastic save for some temporary roadwork out front. There are better hotels on […] this street. Will not stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ok hotel with very nice location"
Nice location, easy walking distance from Academia, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio and 1 block away from Piazza D'Uomo. Breakfast was ok and staff helpful but grumpy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent Hotel for the Price"
This hotel was fair for the price but it was noting special. The street it is on is going through major construction so that took away some of the appeal. It is also kind of creepy and weird. They make you leave your key with the front desk. The breakfast was AWFUL. it was some stale rolls set out so don't count on that. It was super close to the duomo […] which is all we were looking for. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient hotel right by the dome"
Good location, very central - right behind the dome and tower. Breakfast was sufficient - the usual cereal, croissants, cold meats, cheese, yogurt, whole fruit (mostly bruised though), and tea and coffee. Staff were pleasant. The only things that bothered me was 1) the aircon that did not work - it emitted warm air instead of cold air. This seems like […] a common problem with Italian hotels. We had to sleep with windows open, which was noisy. 2) It's a rule to hand in our keys at reception each time we left the hotel, 3) we have to be 'let in' to the floor of our room by ringing the door bell - every time we got back. "Close to sights"
Everything is in walking distance so this was a great choice! Breakfast was good, hotel was clean and staff was nice. Rooms are basic but really all you need. I would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice Hotel"
The staff was friendly, the room was clean, breakfast was simple, but very good. You can't really beat the location if you are visiting as a tourist. They were doing soime roadwork in front of the Hotel when I stayed and that was a little inconvienient, but I expect the will be completing the work soon. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. "Worst hotel ever-Hotel De Lanzi"
worst hotel ever been!! the room was extra small, to the point that i had to carry the suitcase over the bed. Bathroom was ok. There is no free wi-fi, and internet was VERY expensive. I made a 1 minute phone call having to use the receptions phone because the phone would not work in my room, and they charged me $5.25 EUROS which is about $8.00 for 60 […] seconds of a phone call!. i understand if the call was made from the comfort in my own room but i was at the lobby in my pajamas using the phone which the receptionist had to turn over the counter in order for me to use it. The breakfast was very cheap, only a few croissants, coffee. The personnel at the reception was very mean, not helpful at all. The only good thing about this hotel was the location, NOTHING else. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anybody. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel and inexpensive"
Great hotel right in the center of Florence. Walking distance to everything. Staff is very helpful and courteous. Great gelato right across the street. Love to stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
We liked the location of this hotel- closets the train station and right near the duomo. The breakfast was pretty good every morning. Most of the receptionists spoke English pretty well. The room was comfortable although we were disappointed that there wasn't a fridge. Theres a great gelato place right across the street too. Overall, we were happy with […] our stay here. "Steps away from the Duomo"
You couldn't get any closer to the Duomo if you tried. You can actually see the cathedral from the front door of the hotel. It is literally steps away from anywhere you want to be. The rooms were clean and a pretty decent size compared to most European hotels. It had a private bathroom which was a must. The mattresses were a little hard though, but […] we were only there for two nights so it was fine. It had good internet, 5 Euros for a 24 hour period. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Decent & clean"
Didn't like the breakfast. They could've made more authentic. Should offer authentic cappuccino without having to pay for itGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to all, not 3 stars..."
Though a convenient walk to many points of interest, my room was a walk-in closet with a view of a restaurant alley, complete with the noise and smells at all hours.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't get your hopes up!"
The only thing really good about this hotel is the location. I paid the high room rate, because I saw that people were giving it four stars, but I have no idea what they were thinking. The rooms are old, small, and uncomfortable, with no ammenities like free wi/fi. The breakfast was minimal. Don't show up with a car, or you'll be stuck having someone […] pick it up and take it to a garage somewhere for another 25 euros on top of the high room rate. To be fair, the customer service was ok. The staff was pleasant and we were able to leave our bags in a secure location while walking around after check-out. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel De Nasty...Roach Motel"
The room had a very sour, dusty and stangnant odor in it and when reported to the manager she said there was nothing she can do and that if I checked out I would lose my prepaid money to Expedia...not let me try and fix this or switch your room. In any case they say a picture is worth a thousand words...so below are 2 pictures worth about 5000 words. […] This is what you will be breathing in at Hotel De Lanzi. Not even worthy of 1 star let alone 3. The sad thing is since the manager didn't even offer to remedy my problem I had to physically clean the filter in the bathroom shower. As a result my vacation in Florence was ruined...Don't let the same happen to you. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel De Lanzi Florence, Italy"
As a solo traveler, my room was a single which means "basic". I had college dorm rooms that were bigger than my hotel room. My room came with its own bathroom which was nice and it was clean as was the room. Breakfast was included. The hotel itself is dated and is showing its age, but then again you're in Florence and the whole city is dated. Location […] of the hotel to all the major sites is excellent. You are only 15 yards from the Duomo and 5 to 10 minutes from the Uffizi Gallery and Accademia. If you need a gelato fix there is a shop directly across from the hotel entrance. The staff spoke English which was helpful. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Simple hotel in a fabulous location"
The hotel is in a great location close to the Duomo and within walking distance of just about all of the sites of interest. The room was simple, but clean. This is not the place if you want high luxury, but a clean, good room for the price. Our room faced the street, so there was a bit of street noise until fairly late at night given the restaurant […] and gelato store nearby. Nonetheless, we would recommend it. We had an amazing view of the duomo from our room. The location was perfect for all of the attractions that we wanted to see. We were so pleased with the helpfulness of the staff. We had a WONDERFUL time in Florence. We would definately stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, decent room"
The room was typical Italian and mediocre, but the location was amazing. The service was great too. Bathroom was average.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"good location and good room for the price"
Disappointed that wi fi was not free (extra charge of 5 euros per day) and that were asked to pay "Florence city fee" of 3 euros per day. Both of these were cash items, and particularly for the "city fee"--why would it have to be cash if it's really legitimate?Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Duomo right there"
Overall it was fine. If you are looking for fancy service, with staff at your beck and call, this is not for you. But if you are looking for a convenient, central location, with a clean bed and clean bathroom, this is ideal. It could use some maintenance, but I felt safe. The breakfast was standard self-serve.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Excellent location, just 100 feet from the Duomo and other sightseeings. Due to its location, it can get really noisy if tourists linger on the street below after hours. Internet access costed us $5 for 24 hours or more expensive in the common area. I think they meant up to 12 midnight for the daily rate. We couldn't get good reception in our room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellence in Florence"
We have a great time in Florence and Hotel Lancy was an excellence choice. The location is just one street from the Duomo and the staff are superb, I recommended without hesitation. I will stay in Lanzy again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient, centrally located."
I was on vacation through Italy and stayed here for 3 days. It's conveniently located near the Duomo and the main avenue (shopping). It's a little outdated, but clean and convenient. There is breakfast available, and they do offer coordination of some tours (although I found the staff was not savvy on what was offered or how to set this up).Genuine Expedia guest review

"Gets the job done"
It was a nice hotel, perfectly situated right near Il Duomo. It was clean, but no thrills. Basically a place to sleep. Not saying it's a bad thing, but not a place to be romanticGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean basic rooms in great location."
Perfectly located hotel in the heart of Florence right next to the Duomo. Staff was very helpful. Reasonable price. By no means a luxury hotel but served it's purpose as a place to shower and sleep. Overall a pleasant stayGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"In the heart of Florence"
You can't beat the location of this hotel. My biggest issue was finding it since it is in the Pedestrian area. Once we found everything was great. The Duomo was just across the street and the Tower bells wake you up sharply at 7 am (whether your room faces the Duomo or not). "Great Location; Great Price"
Great price; great location! Hotel is very dated but all I can say is location, location, location. Staff was very nice and helpful.. "A decent hotel near the Duomo"
This was our hotel for our first 2 nights in Florence, so we were tired from our long flight. The hotel was quiet and comfortable. And - unusual for an Italian hotel - the shower was large. It is located only a few blocks from the Duomo and other major attractions.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel was conveniently located for sight seeing, the neighborhood was very much like all the neighborhoods that we encountered. The staff were helpful and courteous, and spoke English, which was a big help. The only drawback was that our room was right off the lobby and very noisy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice stay in Florence"
The location was awesome! Short walk to the train station. Breakfast was very good typical Italian breakfast. When we checked out we were in a huge hurry to get to the train station and had to wait in line...We asked if we had to sign anything because we knew we were paid up and were hoping to just hand them the key and scoot...but they made us wait […] only to hand them the key and not need to sign anything. That was our only complaint. The room was clean and warm. Our stay was Dec 2011. We were able to walk everywhere from our room and not need a taxi. The double bed was 2 bed pushed together but we managed. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Incredible location for the price - nothing fancy is the trade-off"
I needed a place to crash in transit, because of a very early flight the next day to Paris. I did not realize until I arrived that I was literally one block from the Duomo, and three blocks from the street market. A remarkably good location for the price. I had a single room, which was tiny, with a narrow bed that could never fit two people, but was […] clean and comfortable. The window, which was actually a steel door, opened on to a quiet internal courtyard, but had no screen. Not really a problem. The TV was tiny and ancient and got only one English channel (BBC), but who goes to Florence to watch TV. The bathroom was large, comfortable and newly renovated. No tub, but I did not care about that. Breakfast is included but I had to leave too early to enjoy. The staff were very courteous, and even lent me some tools to open my jammed suitcase. All in all, a good deal for a single traveller looking for convenience and location and not worried about frills. I would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The basic requirements and amenities are fine. The room was comfortable but small; clean and quiet. I liked that the air conditioning worked well (not always the case in Italy). Jump out the door of the hotel and you are in the middle of the action in Florence. The Duomo bell tower serves as your 7.00 am alarm clock. The breakfast was also basic but […] the self serving area was cramped. The staff were accommodating and responsive. Walking distance (1 km.) from the train or bus station. Not recommended if you have a lot of luggage but otherwise a 12 minute walk. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
A room with 4 beds. Only few steps from the Duomo Sta. María de la Fiore. The es icecream just across the street. Incredible serviceGenuine Expedia guest review
Beautiful B&B in the centre of Florence, close to the old centre but in an area that's a bit less touristy, with some lovely restaurants and bars. My room was spacious and looked great. The breakfast was basic but tasty. Wifi was fast too. There isn't aways someone on site so you have to confirm your arrival time with the owner.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient and good value"
This hotel was more than adequate for our needs - we were out enjoying the city and needed somewhere central to use as a base. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was disappointing but there is so much available close by this was not a problem for us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Situated 2 minutes south of the Duomo, this hotel is a great base for any stay in a Florence. The rooms are adequate, the breakfast decent and good value for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Family Room for 4"
The location was great. The hotel is outdated and needs renovations. A family room (4 people) was just a regular room with 2 additional cots put in, so it was rather crowded. Overall it was fine.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Absolutely Everything!"
Hotel de Lanzi was exactly what we wanted. Situated less than a minutes walk from the Duomo, dead opposite an ice cream parlour and less than 10 minutes walk from the Ponte Vecchio. The rooms are not huge but they are clean and comfortable, and the showers are hot. The staff couldn't have been friendlier, and the breakfasts were generous and tasty. "Excellent location with nice staff"
Just a stone throw from Duomo and close to everything else, nice and helpful staff, basic but plentiful breakfast, room clean and bed comfortable, very good value.Genuine Expedia guest review
Tucked down a little side street this hotel is perfectly placed to experience all of the tourist hot spots of Florence. 2 mins from the Duomo and 5mins walk to all the galleries, museums and the Ponte Vecchio.Genuine Expedia guest review
the location of the hotel was perfect for exploring Florence. the staff were helpful and everything was clean and worked well. The (cold) breakfast was adequate but a bit uninspiring, but there was a brilliant restaurant a short way down the street.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Location for central Florence sites"
We spent 3 nights there in January 2014. Fantastic location (just one street/block) from the Doumo/cathedral and tower etc. Also - only about a 15/20 minute walk from the central station and easy to find just off the major (top brand) shopping streets. Staff were great and very helpful. If you get a chance though - book on a room only basis and head […] out to get breakfast somewhere else: The breakfast "buffet" really lets the hotel down: it's probably just about the worst we've had anywhere: cheap and poor tasting machine coffee coupled with cheap and tasteless ham (or was it actually turkey or some other reconstituted meat?), rubbery cheese slices and what must be the most tasteless "corn flakes" on the planet. (the "red-orange" juice was OK though to be fair - and the pots of yoghurt): even the "fruit-bowl" seemed as though the few items had been there for a couple of weeks!
