"Excellent value"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Great location close to Deutsche Oper Berlin and served by bus less than 100m walk from the front door, less than 30 minutes to the Hauptbahnhof by bus and S-bahn. Excellent breakfast, one of the best I've had at the price. My only complaint is some smoking jerk in the floor below would blow his garbage out his window and of course it would be sucked directly into my windows. Thankfully the air-conditioning was working perfectly.

We stayed a week at the hotel and enjoyed it. Best locaition in Berlin, very close to most museums. also very close to the S & U Bohn and trains. Shopping is near by. I would stay again when in Berlin.
"Berlin visit by 6 seniors"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
Very nice. No complaints. Had to pay for breakfast and wifi and parking but that seems to be standard in Europe. Breakfast was exceptionally good, great variety and quality. Room was very nice as was Hotel. Front desk staff was friendly, helpfl and spoke good English. Could walk safetly from Hotel to major attractions. On a street car and subway route. Would stay here again.
"Great Location"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
Everything was very good, including the restaurant. There are only a few things I would change: 1. The room had an old rundowned carpet. No matter how much you vacuum it, it does not look clean. Would much rather have a hardwood floor or something similar. 2. The "business room" is a very tinny space with only one computer. For the money I payed, I would expect a "real" bussiness room with three or four PC's, etc. 3. The espresso coffee machine never worked (although you can get good coffee just about everywhere around the place). Other than that, it is a great hotel ... specially the view, WOW ... awesome ... and the location can't be better. The staff was very friendly too.
"Modern at Alexanderplatz"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 3, 2012

Tiergarten, an expanse of greenery located in the city centre, is Berlin's largest park and features the Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate, Victory Column, Bellevue Palace, Soviet Memorial and the zoo. Extensive renovation of the government quarter along the Spree, including Potsdamer Platz and the main train station, has spread to land that was formerly the border zone. The park is popular with runners year round and outdoor food vendors in summer.

"Berlin Berlin, excellent value"
Very happy with our stay, very nice hotel at excellent value.
"Very nice, clean, and friendly"
For the money we have paid it was a gift. Really good and true 4 star. I was staying on 5th floor and it was quite and clean.
"A great place to stay"
I'm usually pretty critical about hotels, but this one was great. I was even able to get my room very early in the morning, which was very welcome after a Transatlantic flight. By the way, Internet is free now.

"Hotel Berlin, Berlin - big, efficient, friendly"
Very large hotel in the business district near the diplomatic area. We were on vacation and picked it since we got a good rate. Service was very good. The desk was friendly and efficient. I mentioned a minor problem with the room to a waiter. He contacted the desk and took care of it. Room was comfortable but furniture showed some use. The flat panel […] TV was viewable but had snow on most channels - strange. About a 30 minute walk to the Brandenburg Gate through Tiergarten park. 30 minutes in the opposite direction to the Ku-damm shopping district. Restaurants in the hotel are not special. However there are good restaurants a couple of blocks away. Also the S-Bahn. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would go back if the rate was right. Read more

"Berlin Berlin Hotel is a very good deal!"
I recently stayed at the Berlin Berlin. I am very satisfied. Staff was very helpful and corteous. Location is not perfect but you can still walk to many of the city atractions. I strongly recommend this hotel for family and business.
"Great Location, we had a great time"
This was our first visit to Berlin (with my wife Carolina and our little baby Andy), we stayed there for 3 days and 3 nights and the hotel has a very good location. Right across the street you can take any of the Sightseeing City Tour double deck buses, or should you prefer you can walk a few miles from the hotel to most of the major and most popular […] attractions and places to visit. We actually walked from the hotel to the Berlin Zoo, the Victoria Statue, Kufurtersdamm and Potsdammer Platz.. Front Desk staff is very friendly and gentle. We only needed to ask direction by the time of our departure and they were very kind explaining us how to get to the airport (without taking a taxi cab) The room was nice and it was always clean and in great conditions. Only minor complian would be the bed pillows: they were too soft, but usually most of the people liked them that way. In my case I find it hard to sleep with such a soft pillow (awesome for those who like it like that). We did not spend too much time at the hotel; due to the short of our trip we practically left around 10 am and get back late at night. Make sure to have a map and you would not get lost. We definitely would stay back at this hotel Read more

"Hotel Berlin Berlin"
Nice clean hotel within walking distance to shopping, eating, train and the Berlin Zoo. Friendly staff. Would stay again.
"Hotel Berlin, Berlin"
Hotel is modern and very clean. Decor both in the lobby and inside the room is modern but overall a bit cold. Some details are somewhat schizophrenic as if management can't decide whether to make them traditional or modern. Staff is very helpful and nice, but they can smile a bit more. We get a very large room facing the back, which makes it a bit quieter, […] but the bathroom lacks a bathtub, which doesn't seem to be a standard item in Central Europe. Furniture in the room rather worn and old (Couch showed tear on cushion). Bus stop right in front of hotel makes it very convenient, but U Bahn is a block away. Breakfast buffet is available in the hotel restaurant but very overpriced. Still overall a good hotel. Read more
"Good business hotel in great location"
Close to Tiergarten and two bus lines -- 100 and 200 -- that will take you to sights of the town
"Nice Hotel"
The hotel is located in a business area and there aren't that many restaurants close by, but within a 10-20 min you can walk to a shopping center where you will find places to eat. The room was good for European standards. The lobby is large with a lounge and a cool spot to relax. Also, the breakfast is large and has a good variety.
We arrived early morning and the staff was able to get us room. Although it was a down grade from the room reserved, they add complimentary breakfast for two the entire stay. The room was ok, a little smaller then what we are used to, but the breakfast was delicious. WIFI was horrible in the room, it kept dropping connection. Overall the stay was good. […] The location is central to everything in Berlin. Just out side is the bus line and a drop of point for the Hop on Hop Off bus. Read more

"Clean, large room"
This is a very acceptable hotel. The room we had was clean, large and well-equipped. The front desk was helpful. Good restaurants within walking distance. Only low point was the inability of the staff to facilitate my continuous use (paid) of the internet. For some reason, each time I wanted to use it, I had to engage in phone calls to the front desk […] and then trudge down there. I gave up on the second day. Breakfast crazily expensive, especially when there are nice cafes within walking distance. Everything else was fine. Read more

"hotel berlin, berlin"
this is a great hotel - very clean, very nice decoration. it is in a more quiet area. so it is not loud and busy as those on the main streets where all the activities are happening. the restaurants, cafes, and bakeries in the areas are excellent. getting around is easy because the bus stop is right in front of the hotel. or if you want use u- or s-lines, […] it is a short walk to the stations. pillows needed to be fluffier, but the rest was fine! close to kurfursten metro stop, and not too bad to reach from zoologischer garden stop from sxf airport either
"A nice hotel, nice location, and in a fair price"
I've never heard of a hotel that does'nt have a double blanket... We ordered a double bed, and it was annoying enough for me and my wife to sleep in seperate beds (of course we moved the 2 twin beds closest as possible, but still felt the gap between...), so at least we expected to feel like we're sleeping together in our anniversary we celebrated in […] this holiday... They told us they don't have double blankets even for those who got double beds... strage, ah? But besides that, the hotel is nice and clean. The rooms are big and comfortable. The crew is formal and not too friendly, but polite and helpful. The location is good: 5 minutes walking from an underground station and busses (just ignore the prostitutes that standing there at night... hehe) Read more
"Hotel Berlin - Great place!"
The room and hotel were great. We stayed there 8 nights and had no problems. They cleaned the room really well each day and the hotel staff was nice. The location is great. Easy bus ride from the airport to the hotel. (only one transfer at the Zoo). Bus route 100 stops right in front of the hotel and goes to many of the tourist areas. Also the Zoo […] station is close and you can catch the bus, subway, and train there. Only bad thing was that there is no free internet. Read more

"Convenenient location, OK rooms"
We stayed in the Hotel Berlin, Berlin for two nights in October 2010. The hotel is conveniently located. A short walk to U-Bahn and Zoo Station is also within walking distance. We reserved a non-smoking room but none were available at our arrival. The reception was apologetic, but I would not have booked here had I known I would have a smoking room. […] So this is a fairly serious mistake from my point of view. The hotel breakfast buffet was so incredibly expensive that I didn't try it. We were a little surprised that this was considered a 4-star hotel, as the rooms were large but uninspired. The bathroom offered only a pump of generic hand/body/shampoo soap, for example. But I guess there are other services provided that we weren't interested in. Read more

"Outstanding hotel experience"
Large modern room with all the amenities. Restaurant menu could be improved. Concierge condescending and not very helpful. Front desk people, on the other hand, spoke English and took the time to answer questions. Wireless internet was expensive and should have been complementary. April is a warm local German restaurant with excellent atmosphere, food […] and value. Sao Mai was another excellent Vietnamese eatery that was very affordable. Both near the local U- bahn station. Only one small issue- the fridge wasn't working properly, but all else was wonderful. Great place to stay if you don't mind a little walking.

"Hotel Berlin in Berlin"
This was a great hotel; on the Bus #11 line but near enough to the Zoo Train Station to walk. The hotel staff was helpful and many spoke very good English. The rooms were quiet even though we were on a main raod. I have only one complaint and that was that the light in the bathroom was dim made it a little difficult to put on make-up. I would definitely […] stay here again. Read more
"Good bargain for your money"
The hotel is very sleek and modern which we really liked. They had table football and a cool football hologram in the center of the lobby for you to play in. The room was simple, clean and modern with a super comfy bed. One really great amenity that's not common in European hotels is an iron but this facility has an iron and a board for your use in […] the room. The location is convenient to the hop on hop off bus line and many public transport links. It was also a long but enjoyable walk from the hotel to the Ku'damm (about 30 minutes on a super full stomach). The only drawback is that there are prostitutes strolling about a block to the rear of the property. Since prostitution is legal in the city not such a big deal to us but may be an important factor for those with children. Read more
"Conveniently located"
This was our first visit to Berlin. We chose Hotel Berlin because the room rates were very good for a 4.5 star hotel, it had good reviews and was in a very convenient location. Reception staff speak English and are helpful. A friendly bellboy takes your luggage up to your room for you. Our room was very spacious, comfortable, well-lit and clean, […] with tea/coffee-making facilities and a mini fridge. There is a supermarket just across the street. The bus-stop is also just around the corner and you can catch the hop-on hop-off sight-seeing buses from here too. Kurfürstendamm (Ku'damm), Berlin's popular shopping street, and the famous KaDeWe department store are within easy walking distance of the hotel. There is a limited room service menu and the hotel restaurant doesn't have many choices. However there are restaurants, cafes, bakeries and supermarkets that you can walk to. The Zoo and Tiergarten are within walking distance and well worth a visit. Read more
"Outstanding"
Very friendly, and the physical plant continues to be upgraded and well maintained.
"Nice hotel for a conference"
The room was perfectly fine, albeit somewhat boring. But the staff was very attentive and helpful. Short walk to bustling center of West Berlin, but the immediate neighborhood is a little less interesting. There are a lot of prostitutes in the neighborhood SE of the hotel, but the area doesn't feel unsafe. I was here for a conference and the services […] was outstanding. Read more
"My stay at the Hotel Berlin Berlin"
The hotel lobby, bar, floor areas, outside bar area are lovely, extremely modern. The dining areas on the first morning were horrendous, tables piled up with the detritus of others breakfasts, food on the floor, loaded trays of dirty plates left on the food service area. It looked as though a bomb had hit it! We struggled to find four seats as the […] place was full of people at an exhibition. The cooked food in the servery was cold and having paid 21euros each we were more than upset. We didn't eat there again it was so offputting. Not enough staff evidently but having done a review in the hotel after breakfast and also the general review i am frankly annoyed not to have heard from them. I would stay there again, the hotel is lovely and it's so central for everything. The reception staff are very efficient and helpful. Read more
"The best in Berlin"
I stayed in the Hotel Berlin, Berlin for 4 nights in September. The hotel was in an excellent location. The bus stop was round the corner & the nearest train station is just 3 minutes walk from the hotel. The room was lovely.. maybe is could do with a little more lighting to read. The breakfast was gorgeous. The seating area in the hotel was great and […] the staff were friendly, courteous & professional at all times. "Big hotel with boring rooms"
The regular rooms that we booked where quite boring and dull, the interior felt that it was a relic of the 80's. With so many hotels coming up with great interior styles this was a bit of a blast from the past. Otherwise really nice, lot's of restaurants, perfectly located and good service.
"Satisfied Traveler"
Our stay at Hotel Berlin, Berlin was great. The room was furnished nicely with a modern bathroom. Front desk was helpfull with all questions we had. They all spoke english and were more then accommodating. The U-Bahn is a short 5 minute walk. The neighborhood is a bit run down but felt safe walking late at night. We did not include breakfast. The bar […] and lounge area was quite nice and relaxing. Secure building late at night - room key is needed to enter at late hours. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Berlin. Read more
"A good bet in Berlin"
b Berlin, Berlin is a very large business hotel (700+ rooms) that appears to cater to large higher end tour groups and business meetings. With the exception a swimming pool, the hotel offers all the amenities one would expect for such a large modern hotel. The standard rooms were HUGE not just by European standards, but by any standard. The classic […] double included two twin beds moved together to form a queen size space (typical practice in Germany) with new higher end linens, nights stands, separate sitting area with full sofa, coffee table, and sitting chairs, a desk and chair, small flat panel TV with BBC and CNN available, and FREE WiFi throughout the hotel (a rare and valuable amenity in large business class hotels). A very large closet with wide full length mirrored doors was opposite the ample size full bath. The front desk was staffed by friendly, always helpful professionals all of whom spoke flawless English (other language-speaking staff were also available) and adjacent to the front desk was a 24 hour "grab and go" snack cooler with tasty sandwiches, chicken wraps, and beverages available for purchase at a fair price 24 hours a day. The oversized lobbies included a bar which also offered food most of the day. A full restaurant serving food at three mealtimes is also available. (I only ate breakfast there once and will comment on that later, so I cannot evaluate the quality or value of other meals.) An impressive (for a hotel) modern gym was available 24x7 free of charge for guests in the lower level. Also in the lower level was an outoor/indoor relaxation lounge with its own tranquility waterfall, and two dry saunas which were operational from about 6 to 10PM and during other hours by request. Local phone calls were fairly priced at about 0.8 Euros. The location was perfect for me as I like to walk and be central to everything but not right in the middle of anything. In 15-20 minutes I could walk to the heart of the K'damm, the middle of Tiergarten, the z Read more
