This is a beautiful hotel in the heart of Baltimore's Mt. Vernon. We stayed for New Year's Eve. The room was very comfortable, clean and well furnished in lovely antique furniture. Room service was timely and the meal was delicious. The service in the restaurant the next morning was horrendous. We waited for at least 20 minutes for our breakfast, only half of it came, no coffee, and we had to ask twice for the rest of the order to finally arrive. When we checked out we paid for the extras in cash, but a few days later my credit card was billed for those same charges. When I called the hotel, the manager was less than gracious with me. I probably will not stay there again.

The Peabody is aged, but that's the inviting charm! The room was a good size with a comfortable bed (even with the smallish pillows). Plenty of hot water and pressure (I stayed on the top floor) for a relaxing shower and how can you beat a warm towel off the warmer! After a long day of business downtown with foul weather, I decided to eat at George's. The crab dip was superb, and the filet done perfectly to medium. However, the accompanying crab cake was pretty dull considering it's Baltimore where good cakes can be had in abundance. Have the front desk remove the safe charge upon checkout, and if you require parking during your visit be sure to ask about the expense of the valet parking (it's a little steep but close to par for the location and convenient). Enjoy!

After driving 5 hours from Upstate, New York, I was exhausted. Arrived and was greeted by a young man, to take my keys for valet parking. This was not mentioned on website, nor was the price of parking. I think that it should be listed so that guests can figure in cost of parking and other hidden fees. I get to my room and the WiFi doesn't work. Called the IT help desk, turns out the hotel switch carriers, was transferred to the front desk and they estimated that it would take 30 mins to fix the problem. I picked this hotel one for location and two for WiFi access. I needed to login to retreive emails and find out what time I needed to be at my appointment. WiFi did not work and I was given an ethernet cable to use. Windows were dirty, only one light in bathroom worked. The key access to use the elevators was tricky, but secure, so no one enters the hotel from the streets. Will I stay again, no.

This is an older hotel, which has its charms and its out-of -date qualities. Our room was much smaller than some I've had in at the past at the same hotel. We had a king room. Go for 2 queens so you can walk around in the room. The breakfast service was atrocious, but the food was fine. Nice restaurants and cafes in neighborhood. It's located in a wonderful, quiet, historic neighborhood, which is why I've chosen it several times. The staff were reasonably helpful.

There were several really neat late night clubs, bars and restaurants located nearby so even walking in the rain was no problem. Not a bad room or hotel, considering you can get this hotel at rates reduced much lower than most hotels right in the inner harbor. Regular neighborhood right outside, though people not from a major city might be "scared" if they walk three or so blocks down. Kind of far walking distance from the inner harbor (though possible), but the light rail stop is 2-3 blocks down, and 3 stops from the convention center, Pratt Street, the inner harbor, Camden Yards, and M & T Bank stadium. Again, good value, considering you'll pay half of what you'd pay for slightly better hotel right in the inner harbor.

We normally stay at the Mount Vernon Hotel up the block. The Peabody Court on Hotels.com was actually cheaper for this particular weekend. It was also a nicer hotel than the M.V. in every way—from location (right on the park) to the appearance and comfort of the room. The staff is friendlier too. We lucked out with street parking right in front of the Peabody, so we didn't have to incur the extra expense of parking in a garage.

I read some of the other reviews and was worried it might be a bit trash, but this was a five star hotel. The king size room was AMAZING. I got it for such a good deal that I wished I was staying a week. From now on when I go to Baltimore this will be the first hotel I check rates at. The only downer was they said they had parking and yes it is valet which is almost $30 bucks. So that alone makes the nightly cost go up. I was however able to find street parking and as long as you move by 9 am the next day it is not a big deal.

The hotel sits a little closer to the edge of a sketchy neighborhood than I would prefer, but the hotel itself and the surrounding buildings are quite nice. The room was beautiful with an extremely comfortable bed and nice furnishings - they've done a nice job keeping the historic integrity of the building. The only minor inconvenience was that the staff wasn't overly accomodating - our request for a late check-out was flatly denied and we were...dismissed...without being able to ask why, or if we could pay an extra fee for late check-out. It might have been a fluke though with that clerk, overall I would give it another try.

The fitness center is OK as it did not have weights, and it only has one treadmill, so you can not run with your spouse or significant other. My only complain is that they left my car sitting outside the last night. Considering that the valet parking is twenty dollars, and there is a "car tax" of 5 dollars, I was not very happy with that.

When I booked the rm I was in a rush. The hotel was near where I needed to be and it was a decent $. What I didn't see was that it had a $29 a night parking fee! You can park on the street however you have to move your car by 8am!!!! The second thing to upset me was that when I checked in I told the front desk clerk that I would be having a 2nd guest check in at aprox 1am and that I didn't want to be woken when they got there. He said he would put her name on the room so that when she arrived she could get a key and come up to the rm without disturbing me. However that is NOT what happen when she got there. Long after I was in bed sleeping the phone rang with a different front desk clerk asking me if the person at the desk was truly supposed to be in my rm. When I asked her if she had checked the computer to see if the other person's name was on the rm as explained to her by my friend, her response was no! So much for not waking me! My friend decided to haver her car parked by the valet so that her car could be parked in a locked garage. However that didn't happen. The velet didn't lock it up it stayed right there on the street all night! Needless to say it was not a pleasant stay! I will NOT be going back there again!

I stayed at this property in Nov. 2008, because I stayed there one night many years ago, and remembered the rooms to be luxurious. I guess that I must have stayed there 1998, because it appears that nothing has been done as far as upkeep since then. I told the front desk personnel that I was leaving and that housekeeping could access my room to clean it, and I returned that evening to find it had not been cleaned/linens changed. When I spoke to the manager about it, she was nonresponsive as if it was par for the course, or in this case, the property. The furniture is inadequate and needs to be replaced. There's no work table or any table of any sort other than the night stands and the dresser, so good luck with eating in the room and using your computer. The bathroom was in poor condition -- the handicap handrail over the bathtub was coming out of the wall (since there was rust around the point where the handrail was separating from the wall, this had been going on for a while). The towel warmer sign was on the wall but the towel warmer was incomplete and nonoperational. I would recommend you pay more money and stay at a property in the inner harbor, unless you hear that this property goes through a major remodeling project AND replaces management.
