This is not a place to take young kids. It will take a hotel staff member for you to have access to the pool if you have the kids in a stroller or if you are in a wheel chair. "So below W expectations"
Arrived for a late check-in tired and looking forward to the W experience. Not an easy or quick check in - but what was especially disturbing was the room they gave me. I got off the elevator and the floor stank. Like old musty yuck covered up by fragrance kill. The carpet at the beginning of the hallway had two huge stains on it and the carpet was […] tattered. The rest of the carpet looked like I was in some scary highway hotel. I walked by a room where you could hear a woman fighting with someone on the phone and another woman sitting in front of the door on the computer. This was not the hotels fault - but did not help the scary hallway feeling. When I got to my room, it smelled horrible - like old dirt covered up by fragrance kill, very strong! There was no way I could sleep in that room. I was scared to even turn on the light and called to have my rooms changed. The new room was "better" - still smelled weird but tolerable and I was beat tired. The room had stains on the couch. The white bedspread had stains on it - light brown like they had tried to wash them out, but couldn't and someone made the bad judgment call to use them still. The wood counter was scuffed which made it look dirty and uncared for. All in all, it was so far below my W expecattion, W mgmt shoudl look into to this property quick! I've been to the W hotel in Hollywood which is fantastic but this W doesn't really come close at all. While the room was clean, the walls were paper thin. We were offer an upgrade when we got there, which gave us a beautiful view of downtown Atlanta. The room had a contemporary decor in an open floor plan. "Not worth the money"
W Midtown was not as clean and posh as portrayed on website. The carpet was old, the furniture had Knicks, the drinks are way over priced. The club has no dance floor. My husband and I chose this hotel for our anniversary getaway. I needed a hotel that also had spa. I found the hotel to be very modern in design. I liked that a lot. I was not impressed with the fact that I had to pay $30 to park overnight when I already had paid for the room. That charge should be included when the room is reserved. I thought breakfast […] would be included after paying so much for the room. I was surprised when it costed us another $50 for my husband and I to have a buffet bfast the next morning. Spa was great. Our room was much smaller than they looked on the photo but we were ok with that. The sink in our bathroom had a big crack in it underneath so it leaked all over the bathroom floor. At 10 pm a maintenance person came up looked at the sink and we asked for another room since we had no sink to use. We waited and eventually got another room. No one bothered to apologize for that at all. We were not offered anything for having to repack all of our stuff and move into another room. The maintenance guy was great and he was the one who pushed that we get another room. I wasn't offered that we move, I asked to move then had to wait for someone to call us to find out if we were even going to get another room. It kind of put a damper on our 'romantic anniversary' to have all of this going on between 10-11 pm at night. I don't think I would stay there again. "room not ready even close to check in time"
This was the first and last W I will ever stay at. I booked this hotel about 6 weeks before my travel date and check in time clearly stated 3pm. When I arrived at 5:05pm I was told that my room wasn't ready but they'd call when it was. When I advised them I was 8 months pregnant, traveling alone with my 10 yr old and had a very limited window of time […] to be at my next location and wouldn't be returning until 11:30pm, the check in clerk simply repeated she could take my number and call me when it was ready. I gave my #, left and called 800-customer service asap - they were great but not able to help just file a case. The hotel manager on duty did call me around 7pm but of course I was busy. I never received a call about my room being ready and found it amazing that when I did return at 11:30pm and needed to retreive something out of my valeted car, they WALKED me to my car that was next door. We stayed here for 5 days while our condo in the neighborhood was undergoing renovations. Our room was not cleaned in a timely manner, our shower did not work, and the situation was handled incorrectly which was caused us further disruption. To add insult to injury we were charged almost $300 for a mini bar fee which still has not been reimbursed. House […] keeping also took a personal item out of our room and when we brought it to the housekeepers attention she never followed up with us. This is not even close to a 2 or 3 star hotel.
