Hotel was in poor condition. Eleveators were not working properly and people were getting stuck in the elevator. The shower in my room did not have hot water. The sterling is a not so good place. The only good thing was the internet worked. Arrived at 10:30 am courtney would not allow us to get in the room till nearly 3:30 pm. The parking lot was 10% full. Looks good outside and in the lobby. Arriving in room 810 the bed had a noticable dip of 4 inched in the middle. Bathroom was dirty and rusty. After checking prices for a 30 day stay (or longer) within a close proximity to Downtown Dallas for a "decent" place, to say I felt as if I were being extorted is an understatement. Stumbled across this older hotel not far from downtown. Things didn't get off to a good start. Wi-Fi sluggish, no towels in my room, a/c seemed weak and noisy. Gentleman who filled out my paperwork and checked me in immediately moved me to another floor and WOW. It seemed like a different hotel. Room was dramatically updated. At this price range I wasn't seeing the sketchy patronage I thought would be a given. Had they not dealt with my issues and corrected them in such a prompt fashion the rating would be much lower.

"Upon entrance, off to your left, there is a nice gathering area with a Grand Piano, coffee bar, a and a 70's-style Grand Staircase that leads to upper ballrooms/dance floors, and private meeting rooms. Many floors have been recently renovated to a modern style, with each one different than the other. Blues & Country bands still grace the top Penthouse level, with excellent views of Dallas downtown.

I stayed at this hotel in June when I came home from college for summer. The staff was very helpful, nice and prompt. My room was really clean and I had a stellar view from my window. Overall I enjoyed my stay and suggested it to family that was seeking extended stay accommodations.

This was the very worst stay that my wife and I have ever had in an American Hotel. It wasn't even close. We DID NOT SEE A MAID for our whole stay ( six days and nights) We didn't have our sheets changed, our trash taken out, or the room cleaned. We have stayed at the Sterling at least a dozen times in the past, but this may have been our last stay.

This is, by far, the worst hotel that I've ever come across. I checked in with 4 other co-workers. Once I stepped off the elevator, I knew I was in for a nasty stay. The halls stunk, the walls were stained with some weird black gunk, there was a broken glass door out in the hall way next to my room. Once I opened the door to my room, the smell was almost too much to handle. I walked in and turned on the light switch and guess what?? None of the lights worked. I went back down to the front desk and asked for another room, which they gave me. Once I got back upstairs and to my new room, I realized it was just as bad as I suspected. The carpet was stained, the bed sheets were stained, the shower had black mildew all over it, and the AC didn't work. I called my other co-workers and told them that we were not going to stay in such filth. We all met back down in the lobby and checked out. My co-worker was telling me that there were blood stains under one of the chairs in his room. In closing, if you are in the Dallas area, and the only place to find a room is the Sterling, I would suggest you sleep under a bridge instead. I'm positive it would be a lot nicer than sleeping in this pile of junk.

As I am new to the DFW area, and needing accommodations for 6 months, I was aghast at the rental rates and deposits for apartments just for a semi-safe area. (And I'm from CA!) Responding to a sign flashing "599 monthly rates". My hopes weren't up. Room I got was not the Ritz, but adequate. Overall dollar for dollar-best deal per month I could find that felt safe. Caveat; check in is a joke. No velocity for even the most menial of tasks.

Dear Sir/Madam: I stayed at your hotel on Wednesday, November 6, 2013. It was the worst stay I ever had. Room number 631. 1. The guy at the desk has me really upset. I asked about the shuttle bus. He told me that they do not start until 9 am. When I booked with Expedia they called your hotel and asked if their was a shuttle. You think that the person that answered the telephone could have told them what time your shuttle started. I was traveling with my nine year old granddaughter and did not want a taxi. Worried for our safety. Since I was leaving the hotel at 4:30 am. Our flight was at 6:30 am. So I had no choice to take a taxi. I was so scared taking a taxi with my granddaughter. Which added to the stress of getting to the airport on time. I always stay where their is a shuttle. Never had this happen before. I have been traveling back and forth to Dallas, Texas for the last 4 or 5 years. Since my son married his wife. I don't just come once a year. I travel at least 4 or 5 times a years. I though I would try a different hotel. Can tell you never again. 2. The fighting outside the hotel was so bad. I finally got to sleep at 11:30 pm. After at least 2 fights. I checked out my window to see a guy getting into a car to leave and some car came flying around the lot, going to chase the other car. A guy got out of the car and started running after the car. Banging on the car. Now that was after they where fighting. Then at 12 am my granddaughter was woken up and scared she came and climb in bed with me. So I got a little bit of sleep. I am sorry I did not call the cops that night. I would at least felt better. 3. Called for a wake up call. Well guess what? No call. Thank God I am prepared and set my phone alarm. It is so frustrating that someone would not take the time to put a call up to my room. How many people was late because they did not get a wake up call? 4. No hot water for us to shower. My granddaughter ended up getting a cold shower the night we got there. Then in the morning I tried for a shower it was not even warm. On top of a long day we had and she did not get a hot shower. Then to start my day off with no hot water did not help me. 5. They say internet, well I could not even get internet. So on top of everything else I could not check my email or facebook. So could not sleep with the fighting and nothing to keep me busy. TV just was not helping me to relax. It was hard for me to understand the treatment I received that night. I can tell you I would not tell anyone to stay at this hotel. I can tell you that I will be posting this on your page. I had to stay their because I had to leave early in the morning to head home from my son house. It is a shame after the week was wonderful enjoying my grandchildren that something like this had me that upset. I believe the man name was Jesse. I really believe he should not be working with the public. The only good this is I was on the 6th floor and did not have to worry about someone would break in my room. I would appreciate someone calling me to discuss this matter. I am still very upset over this. Please make sure this does not happen again. Also I tried to leave a feedback on your site and it will not let me. What a joke, my granddaughter even told her friends mom how bad it was. Now I am not the only person. Be Warned... Found an add on CL for an extended stay room as I moved to the Dallas area. Talked over the phone about the price and details for a single room for the month ($599-699) with an enthusiastic young man. Rolled into town and went to get the room. One little snag...a $150.00 "administrative fee" was put out for me to pay. That ran the total to $749-849 for the month. I won't mention the things I did see while I was trying to get a room (disturbing). I will mention that the process (going back to a closing booth at the back office area) I went through to get an extended stay room did remind me of trying to buy a used car back in the 80's. I was tired and did not want play (The see how much we can get out of you game). I just left and called a chain that happily took my money for an extended stay without the games. My advice...look elsewhere for an extended stay unless you want to play games and get "bumped" for the up sale!

The worst hotel I've ever been in!! My husband is working here in Dallas for a few months and choose to stay here for the few months, WOSRT MISTAKE HE EVER MADE!! Me and my three year old came to spend the week with daddy, and the ac flooded the floor so she could not play on floor with her toys my husband and myself told the staff for two days and it seem no one cared to move us.. The ac dude even told us oh this ac has been broke for a long time and I can't fix it. And they still choose to put us in the room. One day the hotel smells like piss and the next day it smells like cig smoke. The cleaning lady's are so rude, if u ask for anything you get the stink eye every time you pass em in the halls... Oh and can't forget the plumbing problems.. Maybe a place to go if you don't have children.
