This hotel is across the street from the beach with no view of the ocean= probably will pay more and stay on the beach next time. Hotel nice enough, staff friendly, Sunset Grille right next door- great food!.

My weekend stay at the beach was nice and staff was very friendly. My biggest complaint was the completely unorganized breakfast system. At first it appeared it was a free buffet, everyone was grabbing plates and wandering around looking for clean tables (none had been bused), only to find out that only certain parts of the buffet were free and the […] rest was a charge. Not at all obvious to anyone. Secondly, my bathroom needed a good wipe down from door facings to cracks and crevices. Seems only the high points are getting cleaned. Great place to stay. Walk across the street to the beach. Friendly staff in all areas. Room was clean and modern. Maybe rates could be a bit lower in this low season (Feb) and breakfast was an extra cost. Hotel was great, clean, staff was great and the location was perfect. The only comment I would make is the breakfast down stairs was a bit disorganized. I think they might have been overwhelmed by the holiday crowd. Otherwise I'd stay there again!

the hotel itself was nice. Our room was a bit dusty, rust in the bathroom, the ironing board was broken and there was a lot of noise at night in the hotel. The beds were comfortable and clean. There is a bit of driving to get to the must-see sights but it is across from the beach.

My family (2 adults, 2 kids) wanted a last minute overnight to the beach on Labor Day. The Hilton Garden Inn was fine for a night. Pluses: walking distance to beautiful st Augustine beach, Anastasia state park is 5 minutes by car, Sunset Grille for dinner was family friendly upstairs (downstairs bar area for party people!). We sat on the deck and enjoyed […] the breeze, not in a rush so slow service didn't bother us. Clean, comfy beds and linens. Minuses: rug in our room felt damp the whole time, not worth changing rooms for one night. Bathroom clean, but a little shabby. Front desk friendly, but when my husband arrived later in the evening, no one was there and he just walked right up to our room. The biggest drawback here was breakfast at their American Grille. It was a disorganized mess, and the omelette my husband was served was truly awful. Maybe they were overwhelmed because it was a holiday? Go out to breakfast then enjoy the state park! Read more

Hotel is very clean. Very nice staff. Breakfast was a good deal for the buffet.The pool was one of the smallest pools I've ever seen at a hotel .The beach across the street was closed due to construction so we had to walk a few blocks for access.I liked the hotel. Not right on beach but a short 1 block walk. First stop on the beach bus shuttle to historic district which is great. No need to take car into town and try and find parking. Breakfast is offered every AM in resteraunt (not complimentary). Rooms are very clean, beds comfortable, would definitely stay here again.

This one on St. Augustine Beach looks the same from the outside, also our room was very clean, the only problem I noticed was that the carpet in the hallways looked fairly bad. We had a reservation and was aware of the check in time. We arrived early and checked in at the front desk, they said it was ok but it would be about one hour before our room would be ready, we said OK and left for a while. When we came back the manager was at the front desk and told us in a very unpleasant manner that the room was not ready and check […] in was at I think, 4:00Pm. I told him I was aware of that but we had talk to the Nice lady and she said to come back in one hour which is what we did. The manager said in a rough voice check in was not now. we would have to come back in 1/2 hour more. Everyone was nice except the manager. There was some issues in the bathroom but it was paint pealing off the tub and some rust on the front edge. The ladies in the mornings and in the restraunt were out standing. We had an overnight stay here while en-route to our final destination. We love St. Augustine but wanted to stay closer to the beach this time. We've stayed at the other Hilton in town and loved it, so naturally, we expected the same experience here. Unfortunately, the hotel looks old and run down and all attempts to mask it, is really just that, masking […] it. The first room we checked into had a busted bathroom pipe. They later moved us into the room across the hall, so we went downstairs, to wait for them to transfer our stuff. When we arrived at the new room, the maintenance guy was in there fixing the AC. I asked him if there was an issue, he said "Nope, All fixed" - The AC didn't work properly all night and the room felt damp. When I walked to the AC to check it out, the carpet was wet. On a positive, the staff was wonderful and accomodating, the breakfast was delicious but we will probably not stay there as the beach is across the street and no as conveniently located as we would have liked. Hotel was nice........rooms were comfortable, but bathrooms were not as clean as I am used to by Hilton. We were going to the Players Championship and my wife had always wanted to go to St. Augustine so we decided to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. At first glance the hotel was up to Hilton standards having a very neat appearance in the lobby area. When we entered our room we noticed a musty smell but did not think much about it but after the first nights […] stay we noticed there was mold growing on the ceiling as well as around the floor throughout the room. We also noticed that some of the pillows and pillow cases had some mold stains on them. We immediately went and informed the front desk and they moved us to another room. They said that house keeping should have noticed the mold and apologized. The new room was o.k. but we had already had a bad experience with the other room and our opinion of the hotel was already tainted. We were very disappointed with our stay and will not stay at a Hilton Garden Inn again. We have always thought it is better pay a little more for our room because you normally get what you pay for but this was not the case in this instance. I would not recommend this hotel. Read more
