Hotel room was flooded.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The facillity is undergoing a major renovation, there were even several rooms that were just painted. Everything was in top brand new condition (TV, fridge, coffee maker). The only downside being the HVAC unit was dated and rather loud, even on fan only. The breakfast was very good (biscuits and gravy, eggs, bagels, toast, waffles, fresh fruit). The […] indoor pool was heated and was in very good condition and VERY warm which was nice since it was a little chilly outside. All in all I would highly reccomend this hotel and would definately stay here again. The location is about 20 minutes outside (east) of St. Louis in Illinois but the surrounding area is full of restaurants and malls. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel was safe and that's about it. The wallpaper and carpet in common hallways was buckling and peeling. The corridors all smelled musty. The sign was not on the building nor was the address, so finding it was a challenge.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"NEEDS UPGRADED & FAST"
This hotel is under new management. Management is very nice but the carpets are filthy. It appears they are in middle of replacing. The beds are horrible. The room smelled, so I brought my own air freshner in. The towels were old and thread bare and rough. Not impressive at all. Hope new management is able to correct all the issues or they will not […] be successful in the area they are in due to the competition being much better. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Needs remodel and outside work"
Parking lot in need of repair. Landscaping needed attention and parking lot had trash in it. Room was fairly clean, but furniture decor needed updating; wallpaper border from '90's. Bed was very comfortable, AC made a noise. Pool was small, and dated. Breakfast was fine for free. The front desk person was very pleasant and accommodating.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"it is more like a motel"
You have to be very good with addresses, because they did not have a sign on the building. It looked like it may have been recently purchased? There was a banner, but difficult to read it from a distance. The toilet wasn't thoroughly clean, maid missed an area around the inner ring of toilet, it was brown. Coffeemaker didn't work (they didn't have another […] one to replace it). We had to leave early 2am and there was a couple of guys parked at the entrance with a U-Haul truck asking us for the keys to our room. They have to do something about security at this hotel. The ladies at the front desk are very friendly and courteous. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was obviously in transition from one owner to another...signs, lighting, general outside and inside appreance poor/run-down...room smelled musty...shower/bathroom was looked after but old...however, I did pay a small cost for the hotel, so I got my money's worth. I will say the staff was very attentive and responsive, but there was only so […] much they could do with the condition of the hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice for a one night stayover"
The hotel staff was very accomodating. Room was clean. Location is ideal yet not too close to the interstate so noise was at a minimum. Very quiet. Not sure if there weren't many other guests. The pool was a little green. Hot tub nice a hot!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Hole in the wall...."
Room was serviceable but nothing to write home about. As far as the hotel itself, we couldn't tell if it was getting shutdown or just opening up. There is no permanent sign out front, just a small printed banner flapping around above the front door that says Econo Lodge. This in the middle of a group of other hotels that seem to have their acts together. […] It looked like we were 2 of upwards of... 5 guests at the hotel that night, if the parking lot is any indication. Pool was green. Breakfast was sparse. That said, it was fine for the cheap price and a place to sleep before hitting the road again. Nothing to see in this area anyway. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Staff were very helpful, it was quiet and the room was clean and comfortable. We were told that the hotel was being renovated, and although it needs the renovation/update, it was clean and comfortable. Great deal, and perfect for those on a road trip!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to my destination."
I liked the new bed and comfortable pillows. The room was clean. The hall carpet was worn and shabby. I felt safe, and was in a clean and comfortable room, at a reasonable price. Breakfast was OK, not great but it was satisfying.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Better than expected!"
I was impressed. My room was beautiful, almost like staying at Hampton or Hilton as for as the covers that were used. The mattress were comfortable and the room was clean. I was sooo impressed! Of you want to stay in a hotel that doesn't allow dogs and you want to be comfortable, this is the place. I will recommend this hotel to family and friends. […] My plan is to stay there again as long as they keep pets out. I really enjoyed my stay. Oh, and it is near the highway and lots of places to eat. Great place to stay. It was better than expected. Although it looked questionable from the outside my husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the motel. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we had questions related to our stay or area restaurants and attractions. There were a few places in the public parts of the motel (next to the hot tub and the elevator floors) that could have been cleaner […] but our room was very clean and the housekeepers did a nice job of cleaning and restocking items each day as we needed them. The breakfast was also good and the staff working in that area was very patient and helpful to guests using the waffle iron after the posted serving time had passed. We had originally planned to stay 3 nights but enjoyed the comfort of the motel so much that we decided to add on another night and the staff was very helpful with this as well. I am extremely satisfied! Gabriella at the front desk was the most polite, interesting, friendly and helpful hotel host I had met in years! She was amazing! "Unless you like bugs, stay somewhere else"
08/25/14 Bzymom4 Paducah, Kentucky
We decided to try something new and use Priceline to book our hotel this time. After reading reviews for all hotels rated 2.5 stars in O'Fallon and based on the fact that some of them were hotels like Country Inn and Suites or Candlewood Inn and Suites, we were pretty confident that we would get a great hotel at a great deal. We ended up getting the La'Quinta for $70 a night which seemed pretty good. We arrived early and the first clerk was very sweet, an older lady with grey hair who said she was new but could get us in early. Awesome! Upon walking in I noticed that it seemed to be nicely updated and very clean in the lobby. Then we went to our room. We stayed on the first floor, as we were walking in I noticed lots of beetle bugs laying all along the edge of the opening. Gross but at least they were outside. Once inside the room I noticed that it seemed to be clean and would do for a couple of nights. We started to unpack and that's when I saw the first roach crawling on the bathroom counter. Ewww! I have two girls who both started to freak out and I just played it off saying it was probably just a random thing. The next morning we awoke to start our day and my son pulls his clothes out of the drawer and finds another large roach crawling in his drawer. I decided I would go and talk to the front desk about this matter because basically I don't feel that I should have to pay money to stay somewhere with bugs. I expected I would get an apology and at the very least an offer to upgrade to a nicer room or (my better hope) was that she would give me the second night free. I knew that I couldn't cancel for the night due to using Priceline and it already being paid for...so I was somewhat stuck with the place. The young lady at the front desk asked what she could do for me, and as I proceeded to tell her what I had found in my room, she pulls out a log book. She said that the bug spray guy had just been there yesterday. As we are discussing this, the young man standing behind me states that his roommate has also found a bug in his room in his bed. So I tell the young lady that obviously the bug man needs to return. She asks me what I would like her to do and so I give her my two choices. She stated that she didn't know what to do because she isn't the manager so she asks the head cleaning lady what to do. The cleaning lady tells me that they were not roaches but beetle bugs and that all the hotels around that area are having a problem with them. I tell her that I do know the difference between the two bugs and that these were definitely roaches. She kind of shrugs and asks to see them, to which I reply that we have thrown them down the toilet, not thinking I would have to "prove" that I had bugs in my room. In my mind I am thinking I do not care what kind of bugs they are, I don't want any bugs in my room. That's why I pay money for a nicer place to stay. After some debate between the two, they try to call the manager who did not answer. The young lady then calls who she says is the assistant manager, Keri and explains the issue to her. Keri tells the young lady that they are not going to do anything about my bugs because they are beetle bugs and all the hotels are having this issue. I'm sure my face was priceless at that moment but I tried to keep my peace and told the girl that I would not be staying in that room for the next night. She finally offered to move me to another room, not an upgrade but the same type for my second night and that was all she could do. I agreed and planned to take it up with the manager when I saw him. After a few hours, I went to get my new room keys and the assistant manager, Keri was behind the counter. She was extremely rude, I had decided to not say anything to her and wait to talk to her boss, but she continued to make statements while getting me my key. Finally when she was almost through, she said "those were beetle bugs those weren't what you said they were." I said no I think I know the difference in what the bugs were and it shouldn't matter. She said no you are wrong those were beetle bugs and everywhere has them right now. I was also informed by the head cleaning lady that my new room had been inspected and there were no bugs at all in it. Before I lost it completely I said thanks for the keys and went to my new room. Same type of room but placed next to the guy with the barking dog (guess that was my punishment for complaining). Anyway, after unpacking again and getting everyone ready for the night I go into the bathroom and what do I see? Another live and kicking bug in the corner!!! I do think this one was a beetle bug but at this point I didn't really care! I was furious. I am making a call to the main office concerning the rude assistant manager and the bug issues. While I understand having some things be out of your control, kindness isn't one of them. An apology would have been a great start, an offer for a free room later, anything to show that they were concerned with me being happy would have made a great difference but all I received was an argumentative worker acting as if I was trying to make things up and that I should be ashamed that I had a problem with a few little (not) beetle bugs. (BTW because they were booked all cots were gone so one of my children were sleeping on the floor of the rooms on pallets - so the idea of bugs on the floor of any kind really was an issue for me. When I explained this to her, she just shrugged her shoulders.) I will NEVER go to this hotel again. We visit this area at least 3-4 times a year as my husbands mother lives here. But we will be sure to stay far away from this hotel. My daughter and her family happened to be in town that same weekend and stayed at the Sleep Inn just across the road. Guess what??? NO BUGS (NOT EVEN BEATLE BUGS) Amazing!!! Save your money and stay somewhere else

This was a find I could not believe. I was looking for a inexpensive motel in the area, most were in the high $90+ price range area. But I found this place by mistake. At $53 it was a steal. It appears to be just recently rebranded. So I do not know if the price will change once it is established. Not located on the main roads (US50). No signage up yet, so it is a little hard to find. Rooms were very new, everything worked great. Breakfast was very good. Staff was helpful. Highly recommend this motel.

Most of the amenities here were unavailable due to being updated. The room was large and clean. A refrigerator and microwave were furnished. The rooma need a little tlc but overall it was a nice stay. The parking is limited.
"Terrible treatment by hotel clerk. Rude, condescending and ignorant. My money should be refunded"
I recently stayed at the "New Econo lodge " for a baseball state tourney. The hotel clerk Gabrielle was rude and obnoxious upon my arrival. She 1st couldnt locate my paid reservation in the computer then when she did find it 15 min later she told me it was my fault that she couldnt find it cause the name was under my husbands first name even though we have the same last name. She then told me that i couldnt have access to my room because my reservation was under my husbands name even though I paid with my credit card. I had to beg for my room with my 13 yr standing there in tears not knowing if we would have a place to sleep. She then told me that she didnt know who i was dealing with and she will keep my money and not give me access. I wish I wouldn't have prepaid the room cause I would have left to go to the Country Inn. I was treated like street trash not a paying customer. Never have I ever been treated so horribly. I will never use this hotel again. When I told the Gen Mgr she offered no compensation to me for her employees actions. Breakfast, The waffles were still frozen so were the muffins and the coffee was muddy at night. Don't use this hotel. I won't ever forget this lady or how I was treated. Very very poor. Our other boys stayed at the Country Inn and the employees there told me to come to have breakfast by them. They also offered me a room for the same amount that I was being charged at Econo lodge as a courtesy to me. Country Inn charges 119.00 normally and Econo lodge charged 73 us tax. A good hotel knows how to treat people right not this place!!!! JEANNIE BRYAN 815-641-5507. Gneebryan@att.net

Hotel staff + location was nice (right near steak & shake and other restaurants). Not luxurious by any means, but it was a cheap place to sleep during our pass through. Breakfast bar wasn't that great and there wasn't a hotel sign in front of the hotel or on the building. This made it a bit confusing.

While this hotel probably can use some updating, it was a fine overnight lodging. The king room was spacious, included a microwave, small refrigerator, and coffee maker. The room and bathroom were clean and well equipped. The bed was comfortable. The room faced the highway, but there was no appreciable road noise. Staff members were polite and professional. The breakfast was varied with many choices, in fact better than at some 'higher' star rated lodgings. Did experience difficulty with the wireless internet. It was most likely issues on my end, but it wasn't an important part of this overnight stay. There were many restaurants nearby, just a short drive to any of them. Got a great price on Hotwire.

While the staff was very helpful and outgoing, the conditions of the facility were poor at best. Run down, in disrepair, dated, and old best describe the overall condition.

The Hotel was ok. Breakfast bar was ok. Couldn't understand why 20 degrees outside and they had both doors standing wide open. (Both mornings) Made it freezing in the eating area. Pillows were awful. We booked the room for 4 people, when we got there we had to go get more towels (only enough for 2). We have stayed at many Baymonts and this was the worst one.
