"Good Hotel But Horrible Group Travel Experience"
I booked an 8 room room-block with this hotel for a business trip through Expedia last month. Prior to the trip, the arrival dates of two guests changed so I called Expedia to edit the reservation. Expedia called the hotel, made the changes and then I also called the hotel to confirm the change. All was well, so I thought. Once at the hotel, the hotel […] staff claimed that they never received a call or fax regarding the reservation check-in change and charged us for the 3 nights that we did not stay there. Upon speaking to Expedia and having substantial documentation that we spoke to a specific staff member at the hotel, had documentation of the fax, and confirmation numbers noting the change, the staff insisted I was lying and refused to refund me for the charge. Thankfully, Expedia credited me the charge but the staff at this hotel was completely unwilling to work with me, called me a liar, and made my stay uncomfortable. I plan travel for a large company and I will NEVER book our employees at this hotel ever again. The hotel itself is nice, clean and in a good location but these sour experience ruined it all for me. "Cookies will get you just so far...."
Well, it was not the stay I had hoped for. Other than one valet and Robert the bellman, there was no customer recognition throughout the 3 day stay. My encounters with the front desk were on a daily bases as I was hoping to extend my booking by 1 night. Turns out, they were sold out, but do I have to ask the same desk person the same question 3 days […] running? On a separate stay in Atlanta, at The W across the street, every employee encountered knew my name by the 2nd encounter. That's customer service. Now to the room. King Suite. 2nd floor. End of hall. Room 244. Nice view of 1 exceptionally large dumptster, and 2 regular sized. These dumpsters were emptied at 4:00 am on both Saturday & Monday. Whole process time. 1.5 hours. Not so nice. Bonus on Monday at 3:00am was the grease pumper truck that had his engine revved for about an hour before the dumpster guys got there. No sleep to be had here. Room should be turned into office space. There was another interesting noise in the bathroom. Crickets. Living in the bathroom vent shaft. Restful I guess. Till the dumpster dance. Housekeeping. Not so much. No coffee in room 1st morning. Had to call down. None 2nd morning. And no cups. But the grounds from day 1 were still there. Random dish or cup or trash, left in hall way for hours as I watched employees walk by on my way down the looong. hall. But, the cookies were good. Just don't expect much more. This hotel was exactly where I needed it to be....close to the mall, strip malls (TJMaxx, DSW, Marshalls..). I enjoyed my stay. In close proximity of many restaurants. Pros: Staff was very pleasent at checkin and checkout. The hotel was clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. There was ample hot water. Cottonell Toilet paper, great choice. I brought my two boys to Atlanta for their first Braves game over Labor Day weekend. When we arrived, they didn't have any roll away beds available, so they upgraded us to an enormous room with a fold out sofa for free. After waiting in line for 15 min while the clerk check someone in the waiting customers and myself was getting inpatient. It's Saturday and it's Atlanta too much to do and little time. Finally I went to my room which was decent. On Sunday morning when we came back from a night out valet was sleep. So we left the car. House keeping knock on the door […] at 9 am too early. Checkout is 12. So we went to check out at 12 and valet told my fiancé they can't find his car keys. Then he proceed to the next customer. Are you serious. He ask us who park the car. We were told the night before the hotel shuttle would take us to our destination. We waited for 30 minutes for the driver - then checked at the desk and were told the shuttle couldn't take us. Waited at a restaurant […] a block away for the hotel shuttle (it was storming) and it took them and hour and 15 minutes to pick us up. "At the center of a lot of activities"
The hotel was very nice, however, I do not appreciate the only options for parking is valet at $25/night or self park for $20/night and that was with limited in/outs from the parking lot. "Did the job"
I stayed for a long weekend recently. The hotel staff was super pleasant and welcoming but I had the most difficult time getting housekeeping to service my room! After the first day, they didn't come by at all and on the second day I had to tell the front desk to request that my room be cleaned up.
