Upscale, residential Kensington is best known for its palace and gardens, and for its major museums in South Kensington —the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, and the V&A. Earl’s Court has a wide selection of budget and mid-range hotels, clustered around Earl’s Court exhibition centre. Its Underground station offers good links (District and Piccadilly lines) with trains running to central London and south-west to Wimbledon.

This hotel is in a great location. It's only a stone's throw from the Earl's Court metro station and the bus stop, so transportation is really convenient. There are also 2 laundrettes across the street, and several night clubs and a casino. There are several markets on the same block, as well as several ethnic food places. Masala Zone, a indian food chain restaurant was also a great value. The hotel itself provided great service and amenities for less than #100/night. We had a single room (#7). Loved the shower soaps and hand soaps (Gilcrest & Soames). The shower and the toilet were adequately sized and spaced for me, even though i'm a bit on the heavy side. (5'6", 200 lbs). For those of you Americans who haven't traveled in Europe before, you should know that most bathrooms are a little uncomfortable and not very forgiving for the overweight or handicapped. The TV was a little small, and it didn't catch any news channels or the olympics, so we felt a little left out. However, there were free newspapers 2x a day and free wi-fi so we were still able to keep in the loop that way. The complimentary breakfast was not bad.
