Travelodge Alexandria - Alexandria

I traveled on a budget and although it was not the plush or beautiful it was very convienently located close to Old Town Alexandria and about 1/2 mile from the Barddock Metro Station. Again being on a budget this provided exactly what I needed and it did not break the bank.

Good location. Close to sights in Alexandria that I wanted to see. Close to DC so I could spend a day there as well. However, the layout of my room was awkward, the place is very old and could use some updating. My bathroom door didn't close. Overall I was a little disappointed for a Travelodge.

Room was small, and hasn't been updated since the 60's. Plumbing and A/C worked fine. I wore slippers in the room, as I wasn't confident about cleanliness of carpet. Decent neighborhood. Breakfast could offer more variety. I have a gluten intolerance and there wasn't much choice for me. I couldn't find any other restaurants or even diners close by where I could eat instead.

I got this for 90/night for 3 nights. Very basic--you get what you pay for, but if all you need is a decent place to crash, this is good. The neighborhood is good, and there's a Trader Joe's literally right across the street.

This hotel is somewhat worn down and in need of some rehabilitation. The carpet is worn and the plumbing hard to use and out of date. The breakfast food was the bare minimum.

Close to Braddock Metro Station and Downtown Alexandria. Clean and comfortable. Complimentary breakfast is nice but may benefit from some protein (is a good snack until your real breakfast or lunch). Nearby restaurants and fast foods are NICE!!! I think is a nice place for sleeping after a long business or leisure day.

This was one of the most awful places I've ever stayed. They promised breakfast and a paper, I never found it. It was down in a raunchy neighborhood with a gas station across the street where the clerk talked to the customer through plexiglass AND bars. The neighborhood was so bad all I heard was gunfire and sirens or the neighbors screaming at one […] another all night. The place was filthy and looked like the last time it was remodeled was the FDR administration. In all fairness there were a couple good things: I had great hot water in the shower, and it was close to some sights. Its a cheap place to stay, but I'm not sure why anyone would want to stay. The only reason I stayed was because they took the cost of the room out of my account before I ever had a chance to see the place and because I am a 'broke student' I didn't have the cash to go anywhere else. The Hotel staff is nice but the Hotel itself is old and needs updating (tubs drip, rooms smell musty, beds hard, etc.) Walls are a thin as well and you can hear others easily if they are loud. Breakfast is nothing more than cereal, toast, coffee and OJ. And don't be late! - Breakfast ends promptly at 9:30 AM - meaning the tiny room they use (4 tables) […] should be empty of all guests and the door locked at 9:30) Advantage here is location - you can walk to Old Town Alexandria -with many restaurants, museums, etc - and leave car at hotel. For the money, it was a decent hotel. Just a few blocks to the Metro and a Starbucks and Trader Joe's right across the street. The word that most encompasses the hotel is 'adequate.' The hotel looks and smells outdated. Checked in late and found out there were no clean towels in my room. Good thing I showered before getting there, because I went to inform the manager the next morning. He didn't believe me when I said there were no towels, so of course I showed him. Also showed him the cracked window in my room. His response "Oh […] yeah, we know about that already." At least, he got housekeeping to immediately bring towels to my room. It was funny to have the housekeeper stare me down, as if it was my fault. I decided to stay here because of the excellent location and there were no extra fees for parking(some places charged 16-20 $ a day plus hotel rate...).
