The Hilton Hotel is ideally situated in the city centre near all shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel itself is clean, welcoming and comfortable. I would stay in this hotel again

Hotel - good location, Underground Parking great. Rooms good for family (i.e. two double beds) but the windows were locked shut and there was no air conditioning. Could not stay more than one night.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to York; the hotel is well situated and all the staff were very polite and efficient; our room was kept clean and tidy and well stocked. The humid conditions meant that we had to have the fan on during the evening and over night which was a slight nuisance because the windows had opening restrictions, probably for security reasons. However, this did not spoil things at all and would certainly return to the hotel on any future visits to York.

While everything inside the room was of the standard one expects from the Hilton, I was dissapointed by the level of noise in the evening. My room was on the first floor and there were several parties taking place within the hotel. Parties which the guest services failed to mention when I checked in. The music and loud groups of people went on for quite some time, which was unfortunate as I had a business meeting the next morning at 6:00.

Best staff ever, ecspecially Emma. It was my birtday during our stay and they really helped make it special. Great room, directly across from Cliffords Tower. Really amazing hotel

I must say straight away that this is a top quality hotel in an excellent location. The décor and condition of the building was lovely, the service was polite and professional, and being inside the city walls was exceptional. I would not hesitate to stay there again and recommend to anyone. The £15 parking charge is for 24 hours and is quite reasonable for the city centre, it is secure and retrieval was quick and easy. They also allowed us to drop off the car a couple of hours before we checked in - a nice touch. So why only 'almost' flawless? There was an outside group using the bar/restaurant for a salsa class during the evening, so these facilities were not available to guests - not a huge issue given the number of bars close by. The central heating pipes starting to 'clank' somewhat at 7am, and for some reason housekeeping knocked on our door at 8.20am to see if the room was empty - reception had no idea why they would do this. None of these spoiled the stay, but just prevented a 5-star mark. The breakfast was incredible and checkout can wait until noon if you wish - very handy for that last bit of exploration. If you want the best quality in the best location, I don't think you will top the Hilton.

we stayed at the hilton as it was close to all the amenities check in was great arrived a little early so they kept our bags while we explored, on getting back to the hotel it was just a matter of picking the key card up. the room was clean and comfortable a little disappointed as we had booked a double room but got a twin no sorry or explanation given. beds and pillows were comfortable, the shower was very disappointing as it was a trickle and even on trying to adjust the shower head not enough power to get the water in the right direction felt like i was squashed up against the wall. the only redeeming feature was the breakfast excellent choice and friendly waitress. i am glad i booked this hotel through hotels.com and got a good price as i have been to much better hotels and would certainly not recommend paying the full price.

The York Hilton is right opposite the Castle and you can walk into the centre of the city within 5 minutes or less so it is very well situated. My room was fine but the bathroom was a little cosy to say the least! Car parking is £15 for 24 hours which seems to be the average. The breakfast buffet is definitely worth booking as it offers you a choice of both a cooked English breakfast or Continental. I will more than likely stay there on my next trip to York. Staff were very helpful too.

Perfect location for sight-seeing and shopping in York. Easy walking distance to all of the main attractions, the Minster, Dungeon, Jorvik etc.Plenty of cafes and pubs close by. Rooms at the hotel a bit on the small side but comfortable for a few days stay. Drinks at the bar were expesive. Breakfast was great everything you could want.

The hotel is in a great position for siteseeing,shopping etc. The room could have been a little bigger and there was no air conditioning or heating control if needed! I expected the room to be more luxurious ( for a hilton) than it was but overall a fab stay.

The York Hilton is a superb hotel, well located and maintained. While parking is at a premium in this city, the hotel goes way out of their way to accomodate and provide your car when needed. Breakfast is terrific, the rooms were fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

The hotel was of a good standard. We had a clean and comfortable family room. Breakfast was good. the only thing to watch out for is the £15 daily parking charge. The hotel is in a great central location. Shops, Cliffords tower and York museum on the door step. Only a short walk to the shambles and York minster. A little longer walk to the National rail museum and a lovely park with riverside walk.

nice but rooms qare very small. we were upgraded to a deluxe room but did not appear to look any different to a standard room that we hAVE STAYED IN BEFORE bREAKFAST WAS VERY GOOD.

The hotel was lovely and very much in the center of York but the one disappointment was that it had no swimming pool or gym facilities

The girl who met us at the front desk upon check-in (who, incidentally was not from York or British at all) went completely out of her way to make us wait until what she described as her "guaranteed check-in time" of 3pm. It was on a slower day and I know there were rooms available and we could have been allowed to put our luggage in our room but she was more concerned about telling us their policies and how they weren't obligated to check us in. I'm not the kind of person to ask for favors but we'd traveled a long way, I've used Hilton properties the world over and I am generally familiar with their level of service, and whenever some rude person is watching us sit there on a couch waiting patiently until *after* the quoted 3pm "guaranteed" time, I felt offended as a customer, particularly, when we were met with a persistent, noticeable, unpleasant attitude. What the story turned out to be was that she had us pre-assigned to a specific room that the maids had not, in fact, cleaned, but there were tons of rooms available that were the same rate and size and amenities as ours, and she could have simply put us in one of those. Ultimately, someone else on their staff did precisely that, after us waiting all day for some very simple service. I wish I could say through the stay the service improved, but there seemed to be a general lack of professionalism and training in the staff at the Hilton York that lives up to the standard of this hotel chain as a whole, and it certainly was not what we would expect from their corporation. I would not recommend this hotel based on our customer service experience.

I think charging guests 15 pounds for parking is taking the p otherwise this hotel is in the perfect location. clean decent rooms.

We arrived a half an hour early and we were allowed to check in. We were asked if we wanted a paper in the morning and we said yes. It was never delivered. The room was suppose to come with bathrobes ( there were none in the room and I did not bother trying to get them for just a one night stay), wine, mineral water and fruit. They were not in the room when we arrived but we were early. These items were there when we returned to the room. Wine and water were fine, but the fruit consisted of one good size orange and a rather small green apple. There was also a small box (four pieces) of chocolate. The view was good but the room was not soundproof, during the evening you could hear the cables from the flags on the front of the hotel slap against the poles. The hotel located in a great area. The bed was very comfotable. I would stay there again but I would not spend the extra money for the deluxe room.

The staff were excellent in making my wife and I as comfortable as possible, however, the room was long past its time to be upgraded and after complaining about dead flies stuck to the wall paper there were more issues with other aspects of cleanliness. Will look elsewhere on our next visit to York

Stayed at the York Hilton on our visit to York. A great choice. Location wise you can't beat it. No more than 5 mins walk to all the attractions, plus loads of bars/restaurants close by. Overall a very pleasant stay.

This hotel is rated 4-star, but did not appear to be, at least by U. S. standards. Although it was clean, modern, and nicely decorated, it was lacking in some areas. Worst of all, rooms were not air-conditioned, and there was no provision for cross ventilation. Fortunately, a fan was provided. The beds were mediocre, at best. No box springs, and matresses were laid on slats. It was not worth the price paid.

I stayed at the Hilton York for 2 nights. The staff was helpful in securing a cab service for our party to visit a remote town outside York. They also recommended a coin laundry so I could wash some clothes. When the laundry turned out to be closed that day, housekeeping did a couple loads for me! The one negative was the bartender in the hotel bar. He was rather rude and inattentive. However, one bad apple did NOT spoil the bunch. Without exception, everyone at the front desk was friendly and helpful. Great location too.

This hotel is a great choice in York. It has a great location across from the castle and very easy access to all of the city center by a short walk. Nice decor and comfort. My only complaint is that they use two twin beds to form a double bed, so you have the bed seam. Well worth considering.

Vi hadde et utmerket opphold på Hilton Hotel i York. Hotellet hadde en fin standard, og betjeningen var hyggelig.
