"Helpful Friendly Staff"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 24, 2013
Classic "listed" property in the west end with a cozy "homely" atmosphere; well-prepared food and generous breakfast offering; staff responsive and accommodating when called upon to help with travel glitches. Great place for people watching, too, as it is a popular venue.
"Great Hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 22, 2013
I don't usually follow up with reviews, but felt as if i should with this hotel as we were so impressed with the room, staff, (mini bar). We have told lots of people about the hotel since, highly recommended! Well done guys!

"Excellent stay at Holiday Inn Express Glasgow"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 1, 2013
First, this hotel is ideally situated -- in walking distance to many key sites in Glasgow and great shopping, restaurants and theatres. The rooms are really comfortable -- spacious bedroom and bathroom, comfy quilt and pillows. And super CLEAN! The buffet breakfast is quite a spread -- cooked breakfast of sausages, eggs, baked beans, all sorts of breads, granola and yoghurt, and cheeses. Even a cappucino/latte machine and a variety of fresh juices. The best is that the welcome you receive from the front desk and their friendly help and support throughout your stay will make you feel very well looked after! I will definitely come back to this hotel again and I recommend it highly!

"grosvenor hilton glasgow"
The hotel is very convenient for the University and we will certainly return soon. The last time we were staying we commented that the quality of breakfast was second to none, however the quality and choce of food at breakfast had definitely declined since 2010 when we were there last- shame- cost cutting or what?? "Up-grade of hotel & staff excellence."
The Grosvenor Glasgow has had an extensive refurbishment since our last stay and the results are amazing. As well as looking stunning, the new restaurant served the most succulent steaks with the service from the staff very friendly, helpful but at the same time unobtrusive. From check-in to leaving, each and every member of the staff had obviously […] been trained to the highest standards. An absolute joy, and we will certainly stay again on our next visit to the "dear green place" from our home on Skye. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good, but could be better!"
We have stayed at this hotel many times in recent years. The room refurbishment is of a good standard although still no air conditioning. Stealth charges are now creeping in - parking used to be free but now £10 per day. Wi-fi now £14.95! A bottle of still water left in the room for guest usage but for £3.95!!! Take our advice, drink the good Scottish […] tap water for free and spend your money at the new Nardini cafe down the road! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Alright but not quite hilton standard."
only 1st floor renovated as of Jan2012. 2nd and 3rd floors still in old decor. Instead of breakfast buffet, breakfast was cooked to order, but this means that you don't really know what to order and can't go back for seconds - but it was fresh.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Depends on the room!"
Location is perfect, just in the West end! Unfortunately it is a bit of a lottery with the rooms! I had an old one and I wasnt really impressed but my friend got one of the new ones and it was actually really nice! Btw, it's ok as hotel but it should not be Hilton as it's not the same quality!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Hell at the hilton"
Catastrophic service. Non-family friendly. No cot in room despite it having been requested. Cot arrived later but no linen, then 50% linnen, then dirty linen. No bath for baby. Cot then collapses with child in it. Disabled alarm then goes of and can't be turned off (at reception either) for an hour while child is trying to sleep - none of us are disabled. All […] of this in the first 4 hours of stay. Management couldn't be reached at all. Compensation of a free meal in restaurant was offered and accepted. Table booked for 1930. "Not Quite up to Executive Standard"
Hotel was well located for our visit.Parking not explained in emails received beforehand.Access is from Byers Road although the address is Great Western Road.Valet parking in adjacent supermarket car park worked well once we found out about it. Was disappointed with room size having paid extra for an executive on top of an already highish basic room […] rate. "Hilton Grosvenor- Glasgow"
The hotel was OK to stay in, but needs a bit of an update. Room service wasn't available as was told there was a problem with kitchen cookers, only the menu from the restaurant was available, but limited for me being a vegetarian. Was charged for extras which I didn't use but this was refunded after explaining at reception, although they could do with […] showing the bill before taking the money. "Go in better weather"
Whilst the staff were without exception unfailingly pleasant and helpful, the hotel itself is somewhat in need of a facelift. Several windows could not be completely closed, including one in the bar / lounge area and this made the hotel quite chilly in the cold weather conditions and the carpets / curtains etc in the rooms were rather shabby. I also […] thought that the bathroom facilities were in need of updating as the tile grouting in two bathrooms was grubby and the rubber shower mats were yellowed and had some mould. However, the location is ideal for the west end / university area and is close to many good shops, cafes etc. The hotel's best asset is its staff, especially in the bar / lounge and reception. "Lovely Glasgow hotel"
This was our first visit to this hotel, having tried quite a few in Glasgow on previous visits. Our room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Dinner in the very comfortable restaurant was expensive but the food was of high quality and the menu intersting. The choice of food available at breakfast was also impressive but staff were not always […] available to assist. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. The only slight irritation was that a wedding party took over the hotel bar on the Saturday evening and the noise of the reception carried up to our room until it finished at approx. 1am. We would return to this hotel any time. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Hilton Grosvenor - Just ok"
I used to live in the West End and for convenience this Hotel is ideal - Hillhead underground is just down the road so that's the main reason we booked. But Hilton hotels are so hit-and-miss, and for me this was just ok. Very 70s in the decor (velvet walls in the lift!) and the bed was so uncomfortable. The room itself was fine, pressure of the shower […] was weak, no minibar. We ate at Bo'Vine, the restaurant attached (they had lost the booking, then found it) and it was good, though not excellent as we were led to believe. Overall, for location it's great - though at the pricey end of Hilton rates I don't think it's worth it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hilton Hotel - Grosvenor Glasgow off Byres Road"
This hotel was well placed and as a Glaswegian retunring home provided convenient access to many of the local attraction, parks and museums. It also was close to the subway and many bus routes, don't get a cab it can take longer than the subway. Traffic on near by Great Western Rd is always heavy, but you cannot hear it in your room. Room was well […] laid out with a spacious King Size bed. Shower and toilet facilities in a seperate room and large and airy with all cleaning products available. Tea an Coffee in good supply. There is a restaurant in the hotel but we did not use as nearby in Byres Road there are plenty, similarly the bar as there is a plethora of bars nearby some quite unique and eclectic. Music also close by witrh a wide range for your taste. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very Impressed"
Very, very impressed with our stay. I recognise that Hilton may be seen as somewhat 'corporate' however I have to say that I could not fault anything about this hotel. If asked to find one thing wrong, I felt that the evening meals in the hotel's restaurant were a little on the expensive side but that really is a trivial complaint following a great […] stay. "Fine hotel"
Perfectly adequate hotel, but wouldn't like to pay the top rate as it is a bit tired in places. Good breakfast and very pleasant staff. Very convenient for shopping and a nice walk in the park.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is not a four star hotel. The rooms are shabby to say the least. I don't know the standard of other hotels in the vicinity but this hotel is way over priced. The staff are lovely any the location in the West End is good but there has to be better than this hotel. If the standard of this hotel represents the 'Hilton' chain I would hesitate in booking […] with them again.. I had read other negative reviews before booking this hotel and thought that maybe the reviewers were fussy.. Its a 4 star after all?? They were right.. Don't waste your money! "Dont go there on a weekend"
This stay had two sites. The lobby and the rooms have a nice decor. The room (109) was elegant with a modern design, clean, big enough and had everything. BUT: we stayed there on a saturday night and there were two weddings in the hotel. In our room was such a noise (we heard which song they played) that we could not even think about sleeping and finally […] had to complain us. Unfortunately the hotel was full and we had to move into a hilton garden inn (at 10pm!). At least the staff was friendly and helpful in this bad situation. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
