"Nice hotel, marred by one incident"
I booked this hotel on relatively short notice as it was a "suite" hotel with pool at a fairly reasonable price. Traveling with three daughters, I always look for a multiple-room solution and pool. We were not disappointed, as we had a clean and reasonably large living area (with pull-out couch) and bedroom. The hotel is located centrally, across the […] street from city hall; there is not a lot for the tourist in the immediate neighborhood, but the historic sites (Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Mint, etc.) are about 10 blocks due east, and the museum area is about the same distance to the northwest. Might be a bit of a walk for younger children, but public transportation is a viable option. Pool turned out to be very small and not deeper than 3 feet; hot tub was large but judging by the amount of foam, probably needed cleaning, however hotels with pools in center city can be hard to find. Service was friendly and helpful, and the gentleman who checked us in gave us a nice overview to the sites and eateries. The one incident was not the fault of the hotel, but rather one of the guests, who on Saturday night became inebriated and, let's just say, mistook our room for his. Hotel staff and management was duly apologetic, upgraded us to another room, and comped us for one night, however it put a damper on what was otherwise a pleasant stay. Along with the good condition of the hotel and the friendly people at the front desk, the hotel is in a good location for most needs you have when on vacation. There is a 7 eleven no more than a block away for late night snacks, a cvs near by for any extra needs, and shops all around the downtown area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"serve its purpose"
This hotel is in a fantastic location! Walking distance to everything. The building is a restored landmark tower. The rooms are typical Marriott. They are generous in size, basic in furnishings, clean and functional. the service is good here. The restaurant staff was quite good! Front desk for most part were good a little more on the smiling would go […] a long way. Overall, i would satay again i paid $119.00 per night and it was worth it. "Coming Back Home"
Stopped in for a brief weekend visit to my old hometown and stayed at the Courtyard once again. It's in a great location right across from City Hall, near Reading Terminal, and accessible to the subway and regional rail lines in addition to most of what downtown Philly has to offer. Took in two Phillies games over the weekend and used public transportation […] to get to both - nice and easy. The hotel is clean and comfortable though it can get a bit busy at times due to it's prime location downtown. The noise level is never an issue though. I wish I could have taken advantage of more of the hotel facilities (pool, bar, restaurant) but being so close to so much kept me largely out of the hotel other than to shower, change, and sleep! "Last Minute Booking"
We decided to stay in Philly for another day, and we booked last minute. Luckkily, this hotel was cheaper than our last one. Great place, right near City Hall in midst of everything. We also received a nice room with two queen beds.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Luxury At A Great Price"
The Center City location cannot be beat. The hotel mixes modern with historic charm.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great location, reading terminal mkt a block away- excellent variety of eateries. The hotel was in walking distance (if u like to walk) to love park, masonic temple, art museum, st peter & pauls basilica. Nice areas to eat closeby; near nodding head brewery/restaurant, shopping.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to EVERYTHING!"
The hotel was close to everything we wanted to see, Reading Terminal Market was right out the rear entrance of the hotel. We walked to everything including the Historic District, Pat's Steak's and across to Restaurant Row. The room had a nice king size bed with plenty of pillows and was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly upon check-in and […] check-out. Would certainly stay here again. Only downside is that parking is very expensive at both the hotel and the local parking garages but I think that is how it is in any large city. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Excellent hotel. All I have to complain about is the pool. It had no towels when I got there. The water had a wierd smell like if not enough chlorine was being used.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel in perfect location"
I chose the Courtyard because of the great reviews and also because I remember from my last trip how beautiful City Hall was and wanted to stay close by. Well, you cannot get any closer than this hotel! I would have to say this hotel is centrally located, kind of in the middle of everything. It is walking distance to Independence Mall, Logan Circle, […] where you will find great museums, and Rittenhouse area. The best part, though, was the proximity to Reading Terminal Market (1 block away). It was the perfect place to browse and get a good and cheap meal. Oh, and the Love Park was also only 1 block away. Did I mention that a 24hr Dunkin Donuts is practically next door?! We were put in a room with City Hall view (not the side view, but we were actually able to see it from the front, which gave us a great view of the city as well), The pool was small but had a very private feel and was perfect for the little ones. The lobby was a little tight, especially when it was peak check-in time, but it is given that space is scarce in the middle of the city and they offered strawberry infused water to refesh us after a longish trip so all was good. The doorman was very helpful, guiding us to the brochure rack, looking for an umbrella to borrow etc etc. The lady at the front was nice and helpful as well. My go-to place in Philly from now on! "We walked to most of the sights"
Staff very friendly. Parking a little costly at $40 a day PLUS valet charge and city taxes ...closer to $60 a day. Our room a little small but adequate. Very close to a BIG BUS STOP for transportation. We did walk to most of the sights in Old City and China Town but took the Big Bus to the Zoo and the Museum of Art.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice, comfortable stay"
The hotel and amenities were great, and staff was friendly and helpful. The only reason I gave the hotel facilities four stars was because I was really looking forward to using the pool, but was incredibly disappointed. The pool itself was very small, but the room that housed the pool was hot and wreaked of chlorine and whatever other pool fumes. It […] was honestly difficult to breathe and my friends and I only lasted five minutes until it was unbearable and had to leave. There needs to be some type of ventilation system. Other than that, this hotel is excellent and centrally located down town. If you don't plan on using the pool, you're stay will by five stars. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Just a block away from reading terminal and city hall and the masonic temple. Good central location, we walked to the Rocky steps and also down to pat's and geno's. Really comfy beds, good size room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not to the standard of most marriotts"
This Hotel was a great location close to most everything in downtown Philly! That was about its only redeaming factor. The room itself was very clean yet the Comforter on the bed seemed to be extremely thin it was the quality of something i would expect from a days inn! The evening front desk staff was rude and unhelpfull seemed that every encounter […] witht them we were bothering them. I was rather disapointed with my stay there. Philly is a great city but I doubt I will be staying at this hotel again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel and great location. The hotel is maybe a 10 minute walk to Rittenhouse Square, Old City, Chinatown, and a 20 minute walk to the UPenn campus and Fairmount area. As far as the actual room, the toilet didn't flush very well (you'd hear the gurgle of the water going down a minute to 90 seconds later) and even though the AC was on, there was […] a strange humidity in the air. But overall, it was a great stay and I highly recommend this hotel. It was super quiet, the staff was friendly, and the lounge in the Lobby was spacious, modern, and clean. "Busy hotel, in middle of town, parking options"
A large hotel, right next to City Hall; the surrounding area if mixed, near the Convention Center, and some sketchy areas of town. We got a nice corner room for a very good price. The check in was quick, the room was large, and very nicely arranged. No issues so this was a nice place to stay. Driving access to the hotel entrance is very busy, and was […] basically blocked the whole time we were there . The Valet parking is $48 per night, but we skipped that and there is a nice new car park less than a block away that has a rate of $30 - use that. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location for center city sightseeing"
We wanted to see City Hall and the Parkway, so this was a perfect location. Stepping out of the hotel to a view of City Hall was very nice. We enjoyed walking to many places, but we could have taken the Phlash for $2 a ride if we wanted to get there more quickly. We did not park at the hotel because it was more expensive than we wanted to spend, but […] found a Central Parking a few blocks away that was more reasonable. The room was comfortable and clean and the building was interesting. We loved being so close to Reading Terminal. I would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"OK for the price"
The location of the hotel is really great. It is directly across the street from City Hall and within easy walking distance to so many sites, restaurants, shops, etc. The outdoor entrance/valet area is treacherous though because the street practically runs into it and drivers are whipping around here. Valet parking is $48 per night. We parked elsewhere. […] We had a room with 2 Queen beds. The beds are not new. They are older and you sink into the mattress. The toilet had a flush handle that kept falling out, but at least it worked. We left our room at 7:45 a.m. and returned at 3 p.m. to freshen up and our rooms were not cleaned yet. They came to clean while we were freshening up so they left, and never came back. When we returned at midnight, our beds were unmade and towels were not changed. I mentioned this to the front desk at check-out but it was clear that he didn't really care. No real apology. Just continued with what he was doing. The price was a special on Expedia, and that was nice. They do have Starbucks coffee available. We did not eat there so I can't speak to the quality of the food. The toilet and bathtub are in a separate room so the vanity sink is open to the room. That's not something I care for because you wake up others while washing up, drying your hair, etc. I think that 3 -3.5 star is more appropriate because of the bed quality and of course, poor service. This is crazy, but I absolutely HATED the combo Shampoo & Conditioner. I have thin straight hair and it was terrible to only have ONE option that was terrible. And I was at this hotel 2 nights! "excellent facility but parking???"
the overall rating for the hotel itself is above satisfactory.... the staff, cleanliness, and comfort is well beyond expectation for the room rate we paid.... this note l can be rated as five star. EXCEPT.... for the parking. The city itself charges for as i have seen, every spot that you can park. But, it would have been 500% perfect if the hotel provides […] free parking for their guest, for $40.00 a night parking charge is a way too much for a guest. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Upgrade was a downgrade!"
We arrived late for checkin (11pm). We were told there were no rooms left with 2 doubles, which I booked for our family. We were given a business suite with a king and sofa bed. The bed looked like a maid took a nap on it and the sofa bed mattress was stained. Being no rooms left, we were able to just sleep it off and enjoy our next day. The staff gave […] us free parking for the inconvenience. View from room was great and location was perfect. Have had better stays in this hotel and it was uncommon to have these issues here. 1) The front desk staff overcharged my card and I'm still waiting on my money to be returned 2) We asked for additional stuff in the room (blankets, wash cloths etc.) The person who brought them up had an attitude 3) We saw a roach running around in the lobby and informed staff who did nothingGenuine Expedia guest review
