"lovely B&B in west end of Edinburough"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Delightful accommodations. Derek is friendly and very helpful. Very pleased and would stay again. Extremely clean. Extremely quiet. Breakfasts are great. We did not eat dinner there although it is an option. Derek has two cats and those with cat allergies should not stay here. If you have difficulty with walking stairs, this would not be a good choice and a hotel with elevator would be preferred. The cats are not in any of the visitors rooms and are not obtrusive in any way. Bedding is wonderful. About a 15 minute walk to the castle, the water of Leigh, the modern art galleries and most of the central areas of New Town.
"Wedding Trip"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
The room was compact but had absolutely everything you needed to live for a year! Very convenient. The bed was a little too hard, but other than that everything was fine, Parking was the only awkward thing, the nearest spaces to leave for long term were about a mile away, but it was a pleasant walk and the Apartment was close enough to all the major sights for us to walk to and not detract from our stay. Great value. Id stay again.

"quiet neighborhood; lovely caretakers"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
The couple who runs No. 45 were very sweet and helpful, giving me several recommendations on places to eat that were excellent. Very well-maintained home on a quiet street, yet conveniently located to a well-worn bus route to downtown (or a 2 miles walk). Also walking distance to Arthur's Seat trails.

Edinburgh Airport is 12 kilometres west of the city centre. It’s a relatively small but modern gateway, recently redeveloped to house more food and drink outlets. An Airlink bus service connects direct with the city centre in less than 30 minutes. Close to the airport is one of the city’s most popular attractions, Edinburgh Zoo, famous for its penguins.

Nice, clean room. Transport to the airport was fast and inexpensive. Dinner was surprisingly good for a hotel bar and grill. Breakfast was also great. When my in-laws complained that their room was too cold, someone immediately went to the room and truend up the heat for them. They were very impressed!

"Minutes from the airport!"
I only stayed here because i had a bonus night coming on Hotels.com, otherwise it's too expensive in my opinion. For the price they charge you'd think that at LEAST internet would be included. There was a free shuttle from the airport and we only had to wait about 10-15 minutes. The best part is that the bus stop to the city is right in front of the […] hotel, and if you have a day after you check out and before you fly, the hotel will store your luggage for you. The breakfast was good, offering up more choices than i expected from a buffet, however it is not included unless you sign up for a package deal. I would love it if they offered NON-GMO food and Organic options. I had no time to enjoy the pool and spa, and if there was massage available like another nearby hotel i would have signed up for that. The people were friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable and clean. It's amazingly close to the airport, you could actually walk there if you weren't weighed down. Read more
"Edinburgh Airport HIlton"
The one thing this hotel has in its favor is location - within walking distance of the airport - a long walk, though and not well marked. It is clean and comfortable but for the price it should be! Everything was extra from the bottle of water in the room to internet access (a lot extra!) to the shuttle to the airport. My husband stayed here the previous […] summer and raved about the staff -how helpful, how friendly, etc. I could barely get their attention. Next time I'll stay further out and pay less. The convenience is not worth the extra cost. Sorry HIlton but you can do better for the price. Read more
"Nice. Convenient to Airport!"
Can easily walk to hotel, 10 minutes, but ask for directions. Or, can use shuttle. Great bar and all staff are friendly and helpful. Nice clean comfortable room. Definitely would go back.

"Hilton Airport Hotel Edinburgh"
Very convient for the airport with free transfer to and from Airport The lobby whilst comfortable was cold especially if you can only get a seat in the area near the main doors. Two complimentary drinks at teh bar was a very welcome extra. Choice of food also very good.
"conveniently located close to the airport"
Nice and friendly people working on the reception, swimming pool and lounge. Perfect location close to the airport, with free shuttle service for my early morning flight. (a little far from the city center, however the airlink bus, stops in front of the hotel, and it takes just 30 minutes to the main tourist area). The only cons was the cleaning lady […] that forgot 2 times to replace the body shower gel. Read more
"Hilton Edinburgh Airport, UK"
Stayed in December 2011. Good quiet airport hotel. Three minutes walk from terminal. Only downside was Christmas party on the premises which meant parking was a ways away.
Room comfortable and clean, restaurant food good, staff eager to help, excellant service to airport. My only negative was that I asked for a 5pm early morning wake up call which I got at 5.30pm and I expected a telephone call and not someone at the door. Overall I would stay again and would recommend this hotel.
"Hilton Airport Edinburgh"
After reading the reviews on this property, we were very disappointed with our room. We had booked a so called family room which was supossed to sleep four. The room consisted of a double bed and a sleep sofa. Location is excellent if you need to be near airport, but I would rate the property as average.
"Very convenient & quiet"
The Hilton was lovely. The front desk staff was very helpful, as was the dining staff attentive. The front desk offered to call me a taxi and the waitress at the cafe offered me a cup of tea while I waited. Also, the restaurant serves a delicious open lasagna (vegetarian). The only thing I would ask would be that the hotel stock extra blankets in the […] room. I live in the Southern United States and wanted an extra blanket in the middle of the night, and I didn't want to call the front desk to ask for one. Read more
"Hilton is best spot to stay by the airport"
We stayed here for its proximity to the airport. There is also a bus that goes into downtown every 10 minutes which has a stop outside the hotel. This was great for running into the city for shopping and dinner. You definitely stay here for its proximity to the airport. The room was basic but fine... bathroom was a bit grubby. Lobby had a decent restaurant/bar […] with live music in the evening. For the price, I'd stay here again if I had a morning flight from EDI. Read more

"Close to ariport and convenient"
Nothing special here. Its really close to the airport and teh shuttle is really convenient. Rooms are average to below average if not a little grungy.
"Pretty good overall"
The room was spacious, nice and clean. Overall it was a pretty nice place to stay-- however, they charge a ridiculous amount to have internet in your room, which is an important aspect of a room to many people nowadays. I understand having some sort of charge, but 15 GBP for 24 hours of internet is ridiculous. Other than that, it was close to the airport, […] which helped since I had an early flight, and comfortable. Maybe a little bit pricey, but overall I was happy with my experience (except for the internet). Read more
"Would stay at this hotel again."
The room was in good condition and was much more spacious than we had anticipated. There was a great breakfast selection. We would have liked to have had internet access in the room.

"Convenient and comfortable"
The hotel is conveniently located next to Edinburg airport and can be easily reached by the airport express bus to and from the city. The rooms are comfortable and the restaurant and full bar are great. particularly since we were on a tight schedule. Staff service was excellent.
"Edinburgh Airport Hotel: Lame Internet"
This is a perfectly good hotel, helpful staff, very convenient to airport, but: No wireless in the rooms (so no Blackberry connect), and they have the obsolete and insulting practice of charging for the internet. This is a must-have for business travellers, and tacking on a charge rather than putting it in the room charge is just lame. Fortunately […] this practice is slowly changing, but it cannot change soon enough. Booo! Read more

"Edinburgh Airport Hilton"
If you are flying out of Edinburgh in early morning, this is the perfect place to stay. They have 24-hour shuttle service to airport--and it is very close. You can turn in a rental car the night before and take express bus out front or taxi into city for a last-night dinner. It would not be the place to stay while sightseeeing and getting any flavor […] of Scotland. The sofa was threadbare in the room--surprising for a Hilton--but the bedding and other furniture and linens all seemed newer and nice. Note that breakfast is not included in the price, unusual for Scotland. If you're departing early, it doesn't really matter, of course. Read more
"EDI Airport Hilton-Terrible in all ways"
Room was terrible-dirty, AC didn't work, bathroom smelled of mildew. Only furniture was a ratty chair, with holes in fabric and stains all over it. We requested a wakeup call, were told they don't do them (at an airport hotel), could not get coffee at 730 am anywhere in the hotel, and paid top dollar for this. Do not stay here. This is listed as a 4 […] star hotel but is maybe a 2 star. Read more
"Hilton Hotel at the Edinburgh Airport"
Well worn and maintained, it is a five-ten minute easy walk to the terminal for those early morning flights when you have go get up at 2:30 AM for a 6:00 AM flight - their shuttle runs 24 hours a day and the staff were punctual and helpful. Location, location, location. Extremely comfortable beds and the windows open to allow in fresh air. Traditional […] Scottish buffet breakfast included with the room. I had two dinners while there and the food was brilliantly presented and very, very tasty. Wait staff was superb. The spa attached to the pool is the same temperature as the pool - so not really a spa, in the "California" sense of the word. 15 pounds for 24 hour Internet access in your room was not acceptable - you could use free WIFI all around town and even at the airport terminal. Leave the hotel, walk to the terminal and catch the Airlink #100 bus to the City Center - buses run every 15 minutes. Don't bother with expensive cabs. The double-decker buses are new, clean and great - the upper deck is great sightseeing and the driver announces stops. The airport bus stops in front of Waverly (train) Station in the heart of the City Center where all of the Hop On-Hop Off sightseeing buses also pick up and drop off for their tours - highly recommended to give you the lay of the land. Once in the City Center, "Athens of the North," with many ongoing festivals year-round, is before you with much to see and experience. And ScotRail is right there at Waverly Station for the quick 45 minute run to Glasgow for a tour or dinner, or any connection north or south from Edinburgh. Don't miss the Edinburgh Royal Botanic Garden - it is world famous and one of the most highly respected gardens to be found anywhere, and a must visit even if you aren't into gardens. Take the one hour guided walking tour and you will be amazed. When you have had enough of the high energy amp of Edinburgh, catch the Airlink bus back to the airport and the Hilton awaits you with calm, comfort and grea Read more

"Best location for early flight out"
The hotel shuttle runs every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day. Even if you don't get the shuttle, its only a 3-4 minute walk to the terminal. You can catch the bus into Edinburgh from the terminal for dinner or last minute sightseeing.
"Great location, mediocre property"
This hotel is what you get when a Hilton name meets a Hotel 8 property. It is very convenient to the airport and the shuttle service is perfect. However, the condition of the room is not up to the Hilton nameplate. My room had holes in the walls, the door frame was cracked all the way around, the wall were stained with who knows what. The restaurant/bar […] service is slow and the tables in the bar were dirty. The food quality was marginal and price was way over the top. If you have to stay the night, look at the Quality Inn, also at the airport. Read more
"Great Place for the Money"
Great Location! 3 min to the airport, walking distance to the car rental companies. City Bus Stop right outside for a non-stop ride to old Edinburgh. Was perfect for the end of our Europe Trip! Great Breakfast that was included in our rate.
"Perfect apart from restaurant service"
Very comfortable and convenient for airport with instant transport available. Ate dinner in restaurant where food was good but waiting time for food was diabolical so much so we had waited over an hour for main course and dessert was finally served in our room.Serving staff were exceedingly apologetic-problem was in kitchen(understaffed)
"Old Fashioned"
My partner and I stayed at this hotel for 1 night in August 2009 because we were flying very early in the morning. Firstly I thought the price we paid was very expensive - I had priced the hotel in July by mistake and then August and it was about 3 times the price. I understand that the festival was on but really! Our room was very old fashioned […] there were marks on the walls and the airconditioning wasn't very good. For a 4 star hotel I was extremely dissappointed. If I have an early flight again I would stay in another hotel and get a taxi. Overall the staff were unfriendly and quite miserable to be honest. If you are thinking of staying here I would really recommend that you think of staying in another hotel and getting a taxi to the airport. Read more
"Old, tired hotel"
The only thing going for this hotel is it location near the airport. Otherwise it is a old tired hotel not worthy of the Hilton name. Edinburgh is an expensive town, but this was a waste of money for a dumpy hotel.
"Excellent airport hotel"
Having read some of the reviews on the Hilton, we were very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Very good room, and first class restaurant, even if a little on the pricey side. Bath had not been properly cleaned, and lacked a bath plug, but otherwise room was excellent, and matress very comfortable. We'll stay there again

"Edinburgh Hilton airport hotel"
Nice staff ,comfortable ,good food, convienent, just a short stay but will come again.
"Edinburgh airport Hilton"
Great facilities with pool steam room and gym. Restaurant staff and food was outstanding. Only downside was the ridiculous price of 15 pounds per day for Internet. It should be free.
There were some hairs in the bathroom, in the bath and on the floor, apart from that everything was fine.
"Heating at Hilton Edin. airport"
System inadequate made comment to pleasant /understanding staff-when outer doors are frequently opening & closing in cool weather theheating system falls short. Bed in our room was "TIRED" Location & other aspects first class
"Beware of staff shortage"
I stayed in the airport Hilton Edinburgh so I could get a 6am flight. Despite reassurances from staff that there was an all night shuttle service to the airport, there was none available at 4.30am in the the day of my travel. There was a staff shortage due to which the shuttle to the airport was not available. Iwalked to the terminal with my heavy bag. […] Nonetheless, disappointed that I to do that in panic. I remain convinced that no matter how good a hotel or it's rating, one must be ever prepared with a plan B. Read more

I was checked in by a very polite member of staff who explained clearly where to find everything I equired. The room was perfect for me on the ground floor and as I was travelling on my own I did not have to cart my luggage far. Checkout , simple, no time wasted. I will definately be using this hotel again.
Excellent could not have asked for any more very helpfully staff
