"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.
"Another Good Experience"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
My wife and I have stayed at the Courtyard in Mahwah three of the last four years to attend the NEAF astronomy show at the Rockland Community College in Suffern, just a few minutes away. We've always had good a experience and this stay was no different. The recent renovations definitely spruced the hotel up. The pool and spa area was nice, although the acoustics in the room left my ears ringing after a group of children in the pool were not using their "indoor voices." Our room was very clean, everything worked well, including the internet connection (which is a wired connection) and having a Dunkin Donuts right next door makes a stay here worthwhile in my humble opinion! Just grab a coffee and a bagel sandwich and go. The rates are competitive with other hotels in the area. If someone on here rates the hotel low, they must be comparing it to a five-star city hotel or maybe a destination resort. It's not that, but it is a clean and decent place to stay while traveling for business or short-term pleasure. I believe we will stay there again next year.

We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.

Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.

Fuel up for the day's adventures with a complimentary continental breakfast. The generous spread includes hot items like waffles and bacon, as well as lighter bites like cereal and bagels. Fresh fruit, juices, coffee, and tea are provided, too.
A small fitness center with wall-mounted TVs is open 24 hours a day. But, with Central Park just a half-block away, wouldn't you prefer a fresh-air workout? Get your pulse racing on miles of scenic running paths. In warmer weather, you can rent a rowboat or bicycles at the Loeb Boathouse. Wintertime, take a whirl on the park's ice-skating rink. Birders flock here, too: More than 275 species of migratory birds have been sighted in Central Park, a major stopping point on the Atlantic flyway.

Buildings crane above one another to claim views of Central Park, a piece of real estate valued at more than $528 billion. Surprises abound in its 843 acres. The grounds include a castle, a zoo, several lakes, and an Egyptian obelisk. A city that never sleeps needs its quiet time, too: Central Park has six designated “quiet zones,” including Strawberry Fields, the monument to John Lennon.

"Beautiful location, lousy room."
Loved the staff, they were all very friendly and professional and made me feel welcomr the moment I walked through the door. Only complaint was that the room was way too small and cramped for one person much less two. Felt as though I was doing the waltz all night when my girlfriend and I was moving around. Aside from that I would go there again if […] the rooms were larger. Read more
"If you are NOT a light sleeper, this is great"
The location is great, one of the best. The rooms are small, but that's OK. My only problem -- and it is a problem -- is that due to the warm weather the heat was on and I had no control over it in my room. I opened the bathroom window and put on the AC that was in the bedroom window, but the compressor cutting on and off made the sound either very […] loud or very soft -- and I am a very light sleeper, so the sound difference was one I couldn't sleep with. I put the AC on 'fan only,' took all the blankets off the bed and slept as best I could (even with earplugs and a white noise machine the AC compressor sound was too loud). If you are a heavy sleeper or just a normal sleeper, the AC cutting on and off probably wouldn't bother you, and then I would highly recommend this hotel (even though it's maddening to have both the heat and the AC on). The staff was very nice -- and they gave me a late check out (which I'm finding now is unusual in the cheaper Manhattan hotels). If they would renovate these rooms, update the heating/cooling system, this would become my #1 place to stay. I discussed this with the front desk person when I checked out. She told me there might be rooms that DO have updated cooling/heating -- she just wasn't sure. I used to live on Manhattan's Upper West Side and this is the 4th UWS hotel I have tried, in search of the perfect place to stay. I'm still on that quest, but as I said, if you are a heavy sleeper or even just a normal sleeper you'd probably be fine here. There are also two local landmark restaurants that deliver -- one on the corner of 71st and Columbus, the other on West 72nd Street between CPW and Columbus that are inexpensive, healthy and really good. Really, this location is great. I hope they renovate and then I'll be back. Read more
"Convenient to Lincoln Center"
Clean hotel and excellent location for attending performances at Lincoln Center. Hotel staff were VERY pleasant and nice to deal with. Didn't see any bedbugs. Great hot breakfast too (how can you beat waffles, eggs, and sausage???)

"Sheets filled w/ hair & urine on outside of toilet"
The check-in staff was EXCELLENT. Friendly, helpful and genuine. They really knew the area and recommended all different kinds of restaurants and things to do. Thomas and some very attractive girl who's name started with "P", and checking out was equally as friendly and expedient. The hotel is SO close to the subway... the 71st street stop I believe. […] Getting off the subway you just walk for about 2 minutes and bam, there you are. That means that getting anywhere in NY from the hotel is just as easy. Very nice neighboorhood as well. Tons of BMW, Lexus, Mercedes etc cars parked along the street. Tells you about the people living around the hotel. Very small "studio-type" room. The size isn't an issue, just know that it's not a regular sized room. Furnished well. The hotel fails in the biggest way though. Otherwise it'd be amazing. ROOM CLEANLINESS. Listen, it is not too much to ask to have clean sheets on a bed in a hotel room. I have no idea who is cleaning the rooms, but just looking at sheets and refluffing the bed is *not acceptable*. Getting into bed after a great day in NY (broadway shows, good food, etc) and yes, I see hair. Not my color or type. I say ok, it could have come from the comforter. Move the pillow, more underneath. Lift up the sheets and look down the bed, yep, more. Either someone slept naked or friggin' sasquatch-man was in NY for the pizza. I grab a different pillow for her, because hers has hair on the top of it. Long day, already unpacked, IN the bed with my gorgeous chick, it is 12 midnight. There is no energy or time to try to fight the powers that be on this one. The hotel has one major responsibility, to provide a clean room. I'm no longer pulling punches on dirty sheets. That's the only thing they're in business to provide, clean sheets and a hot shower. All else is fluff. Fluff that we've become accustomed to, but still fluff. Go to NY? Sure! Stay here? Why not. Check your room first before settling in, 100% yes. Read more

"winter stay"
The morning we woke up and went down to the cafe for breakfast(included), a deer ornament with display outside the window was covered with a just fresh falling of snow. what a delightful start to a peaceful, relaxing, friendly stay in a great quiet upper west side neighborhood atmosphere.
"Tiny rooms"
Tiny rooms even by NYC standards. If you just need a place to catch up on sleep this hotel will work fine. Very close to two subway stops and Central Park. Worked fine for my needs and the price was right. Plan on taking the stairs for extra work out. Elevator is slow.
"Lots of great things (and a few not-so-great)"
Price: For a New York hotel, we got a super deal. Location: It was located in a quiet residential area, very close to a subway stop, and just a short walk to another major one. Walking back from the subway at night (I am a single woman with my 8-year-old daughter) I felt COMPLETELY safe. Terrific food options literally on the same block just a short […] walk west: Big Nick's (burgers and phenomenal pizza slices), a lovely Italian restaurant, what looked like a great higher-end Mexican restaurant and, if I remember correctly, a middle-eastern restaurant. And another, too, I think. Amenities: There was a cute little workout room that I didn't use. The breakfast was a fabulous convenience. This was no "continental" breakfast. Many breakfast options were offered: make-your-own waffles, toast, cereal, coffee, several different kinds of fruit, doughnuts, eggs, sausage, English muffins, instant oatmeal, several choices of juice, etc. Room: The room was smaller than small. I get that New York hotel rooms are going to be small, really. It was only me (a medium sized woman) and a very small 8 year old and we were tripping over each other, however. Drawers had to be closed in order to walk around the bed at all. Two adults would have a difficult time. Liked the size of our room at the comparable Park 79 of a year ago. Small, but we could actually move. No natural light as the window was against a brick wall. It was difficult to identify it was morning w/o looking at the clock. A little worn and run down, but not something I really care too much about. Room was very warm. Much warmer than I am used to during sleeping hours, but maybe there are some that would like that. Very decent flat screen TV in room. I didn't come to NY to watch cable, but it was nice at the end of the day. Nice, comfortable bed. Ample drawer space. I liked that there was a safe in the room. An odd brown tinge to water coming out of both shower faucet and bathroom sink faucet occasionally. It Read more
"Great Price"
Considering the price, the hotel was worth twice as much. Not the Ritz, but for the price, in the heart of NYC - it is a steal
This was one of the most outdated hotels I've ever stayed in. The very first room we went to had the smell of vomit right at the front door so we had to get another room. The staff was very kind in getting us another room....but overall...yuk yuk yuk

"Comfort Inn Central Park, NY, NY - Not So Comfy"
Tiny, not so clean room ... cracked vinyl tile in bathroom ...dingy sheets and towels ... no tub, tiny shower only. While the room may have been clean, it felt dirty. In fact, I felt as if I needed a hot shower every time I left the room during the two-day stay. However, the entire staff was pleasant and helpful and the employees were the only comfortable […] part of the Comfort Inn. Read more

"Comfort Inn Central Park W. - Convenient Location"
Phenomenal locations in close proximity to some great restaurants, museums, and Central Park within a quiet neighborhood. Decent breakfast included!
"Comfort Inn Central Park West"
The Comfort Inn Central Park West is in a great location! The people at the desk were always friendly and helpful. Our room with a double bed was very small, but very clean and cozy. All we did there was sleep, so the size of the room didn't matter. Our only complain was that the room got quite warm each night.
"Fabulous Location"
The location is terrific - we were in the city to go to the Metropolitan Opera and this hotel was in the perfect location for proximity to dining and Lincoln Center. The first room we were assigned on the 3rd floor was not completely cleaned (the garbage wasn't emptied and there were used towels in the bathroom sink). We were reassigned another room […] on the 11th floor. While the room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom was so cramped you had to contort your body underneath the sink to actually sit on the toilet. Cramped bathroom aside, I'd recommend this hotel to someone looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay. Read more
"Amazing Price in NYC"
We were in the city for the night, and were thrilled to find a clean, updated spot on Central Park West for such an amazing price! Hotels offered 10% off and our total for a king room was remarkable. "The Comfort Inn Hotel in New York"
Fantastic location
"Excellent Location"
Our stay at the Comfort Inn Central Park West was short but we will definitely come back. It is very conveniently located in the 70's and less than a block to the subway. Yes as others have noted the rooms are tiny but this is NY, you are only going to sleep there. Clean, comfortable and with an excellent breakfast.

"Small room - great location"
The room was very small, but was expected considering its location. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Due to the October snowstorm, we decided to come back early after dinner and rent a movie, but the movie selection was horrible. We decided to go out for brunch, and did not have the provided breakfast. Overall, it was a good sta […] y. Read more

"Comfort Inn Central Park West-great deal"
good price for a great location, just across the street from Central Park. the staff was very friendly and helpful. I had a queen room, very comfortable...no noise at night at all, just normal hotel noise of doors opening and closing from adoining rooms in the morning.
"Outdated, rude staff, great location"
It's hard to find a nicer location in New York. This hotel is an easy walk to the subway, right next to Central Park, on a quiet and safe street...the location is just excellent. The hotel felt dirty and it could have been clean. It was so outdated, though, that broken titles and stains could have been mistaken for dirt. It needs remodeling in a major […] way. Rooms were tiny, but so is most of New York so no big deal. I'd stay again if the staff were a little nicer but they were miserable. They were knocking at the door to clean by 8 am but yet you can't do an "early" check-in until 3 pm. What's with that? Every room takes 7 hours to clean? In all the staff were not friendly or flexible at all. Oh - one more thing! The pipes! The bathroom pipes clang at all hours and are loud! Very loud. It kept us awake. I needed to wear ear plugs and shut the bathroom door to sleep. I imagine new pluming would be very expensive, but the state of the pipes seemed dire. Read more
"great deal"
We wanted to stay near Central Park and this place was perfect. The room was clean and the staff was great, they even checked us in early! Be prepared, it is a tall and skinny hotel. It was nice to have breakfast as part of the package, the only negative was, there was no where to sit.

"Tiny bathroom"
This hotel is in a wonderful location, just 1/2 block off Central Park. Our room was not cleaned on the first night, although the front desk did have someone deliver fresh towels to our room when we reported it. Cable TV was not working well, and bathroom was the smallest I've ever seen at a hotel. Continental breakfast was very nice and included eggs, […] bacon and waffles. Room was clean and very quiet, although rugs we a bit shabby. Loved it for the location; however. Front desk staff was very friendly. Read more

"Fantastic option for NYC visit"
I can't say enough good things about this hotel's staff -- so helpful and friendly. The hotel itself was much better than I anticipated with the exception that the AC didn't work and so it was tough to sleep since it was about 90 outside. Great location, too -- easy access to west side subway. I would absolutely stay here again when visiting NYC
The room is small, but clean. Within walking distance of Central Park. Easy access to subway. Is it fancy? No, but for the price it was more than satisfactory. You are in Manhattan folks. If you want luxury, you will be spending considerably more. We pretty much spent time in the room to clean up and sleep. Their is too much to see in N.Y. to waste […] time sitting in your room. Plus a "free" breakfast was included. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Read more

"Comfort Inn - Central Park West"
After moving from a double that was pretty cramped, had a challenging layout, and a tiny bathroom, we moved to a King with a rollaway bed. The whole stay was much more pleasant as a result. The front desk staff was very helpful, and all of the hotel staff were quite pleasant. The neighborhood is wonderful, with nice shops and restaurants, and there […] is easy access to all the city has to offer! I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a budget hotel (for NYC) that is neat, clean and hospitable. Read more
A fine hotel, although when you are coming to nyc to stay up until the sun comes out, the hotel room quality isn't as high a priority as the price. Thankfully I was able to crawl out in time for check out.
"Confort inn Central park west"
Nice place, quiete, clean and friendly staff.
"Comfort Inn, West Central Park"
Overall, I needed a place to stay the night. We weren't entertaining there, just basic needs. Small does not describe how close the walls were in the room. Neat & clean were primary, and as for two people in the bathroom, not happening.
"Just a room"
It was just a room. I did not even take a shower there. The free breakfast was a very nice touch in the morning though. The staff was very helpful. When I arrived, my hotels.com reservation had not yet been received and the staff hooked me up with a room anyway. I would definitely use this hotel again.

"Comfort Inn Central Park West"
Very adequate though quite small room. Breakfast was basic but available. Location is great, 1 block from Central Park on W. 71st St.
"Perfect Location"
The people at the hotel couldn't have been nicer! This hotel is in a great neighborhood, lots of restaurants in the area and very safe at night. The room was fine, the breakfast a treat and overall this was a good deal!

"Comfort Inn Central Park West"
Excellent location. We are 82 years old, and still, we walked comfortably to the American Museum of Natural History and, next day, across Central Park to the Frick Collection. We found many good restaurants very close. Parking at a nearby Ikon garage was convenient and affordable. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfasts where we met many pleasant people.
