We could not find any fauly with this hotel. From the moment we arrived at reception, we were impressed. The reception staff were very helpful. We had never been to New York before, and they clearly explained the transport options to us. The room/suite was great and very clean. It would have been nice to have a couple of cups or plates etc to use with the microwave and fridge. I would recommend this hotel to anybody.

We were a party of 5 adult family members wanting a short stay in New York as part of a fly-drive vacation. We didn't want to drive in New York so selected the Doubletree hoping for good balance between proximity to Mahattan island without driving right into the city. It proved to be excellant with the light rail transport system very close to the hotel. The hotel itself was of high standard and all our party said they would recommend it to others. The only difficulty was locating the hotel but we put that down to us not having a detailed map to locate the hotel in the Jersey city district.

the location was not so good but the people there were so kind. there is no pool here. there is a big grocery store where you can buy everything cheap, however, it was kinda scary to cross the railway and then a parking lot which took about 5 minutes especially in the night. so buy them before you come back to hotel for your safety. next to the store, there is a car center, which is useful to know when you are travelling by a car.

There are two light rail stops, COSI for coffee/breakfast, Cuban, Indian, and Italian restaurants within easy walking distance. Compared to the other nearby hotels we've stayed at, this one is the best.

Everyone from valet parking, cleaning staff up to the manager always had friendly words and a smile. All in all it was a joy to stay at this hotel. The public transportation into NY city are awesome. Awesome location. Not too far from two light rail stations, a few minutes from the PATH station to go into NYC, the mall a stone's throw away. Only problem was that I reserved a queen size bed and received a full sized bed and there was a very subtle odor in the room; didnt really mind though, spent most of the time in the city and crashed as soon as we got to our hotel. The area around the hotel was nice and quiet, so it was a nice to walk around the town to wind-down from the city.

We had a great stay at the Doubletree Hotel, Jersey City. The room was clean the bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The locaton is convenient; only two blocks from the PATH train; important for us since we spent our two day vacation in NY City. The hotel is a block away from the street rail line, which will get you close to the ferry terminal; convenient if you intend to take a ferry to Ellis Island and/or the Statue of Liberty. There is a mall a couple of blocks away (saw it from my room window but didn't go over there).

What attracted this hotel to me was that one reviewer stated there is a good view of the Manhattan sklyline. There is no such view. But the location and convenience of the hotel was great. I have 2 small kids (5&6) and they loved taking the PATH trains to NYC. It might not be as convenient for the less adventurous, butwe were very satisfied overall, esp withthe double bed suite (sofa bed was abonus and we were all comfortable (5 of us). The only downfall was no free wi-fi in the rooms or free internet.

Perhaps my expectations were just too high. The hotel looked like an old building that was made over on the insied. However, the makeover was not enough. To start, the room initially looked like it had a lot of potential, but that was sooo not the case. The decor was nice, but after a few roaches, the decor doesnt' mean anything. First roach I saw was on the coffee table, and the next....well can I just say that it landed on my back somewhere in the bathroom. You figure the rest out. Would never ever ever stay there again.
