Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.

Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.

At DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Jersey City, you'll be near all the attractions of central Jersey City--and have all of Manhattan at your fingertips. "Amazing Stay!"
I'm very happy I picked this hotel to stay at. My friend and I were going to a concert in Manhattan the next day so we booked two nights here. As soon as we opened the door my friend was in shock at how nice it was. It's close to Journal Square where you can take the mini bus to NYC to Port Authority, or take a subway to Manhattan. Very nice location. […] The beds were unbelievably comfortable. Some of the best sleep I have ever got. Drinks and food were expensive though. $10 for a drink. But amazing people working there. Very friendly. If you're looking for a very nice hotel outside the city this is one you will want to check out. It was a bit pricey for me, but was very worth it even though my friend and I were only in the hotel at night and morning. Quality of service was excellent. Hotel staff was friendly and very accommodating. Hotel location was ideal. Our stay at the Doubletree worked out great for visiting NYC. Very close to the PATH train station to get in and out of NYC. Staff was very friendly and accommodating and the room was nice. The only thing that I would question is the parking fee which was $25 a night. You pay only about $10 more to park in NYC for the day. As a family we had decided to take a 3 day trip to see NYC for the first time. Coming from a small midwestern town of 6,000 people we were very apprehensive about the area where we would be staying as well as the rates. After a lot os searching we decided to stay in Jersey CIty and selected the Duble Tree Hotel. Since we had never been in either Jersey […] City or NYC we were still apprehensive. All of our concerns were aleviated as soon as we walked into the hotel Lobby. The Double Tree Hotel in Jersey City was nothing less than excellent in all of its aspects. The location was perfect. As an example, one night my husband and I took stroll along the Hudson river walway which, was a block away form the hotel and saw NYC at night it was perfect. Riding into NYC was easy, the hotel is within walking distance of the subway, it cost us $2.25 each time we rode in and out of NYC. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable and had the ameneties we were looking for. The staff was very friendly and professional. We parked our car and never drove it until it was time to return home. The food in the restaurant was very good as were the prices. Our experience was very positive and we have decided to return so we can see more of NYC and the surrounding areas. We highly recommend this hotel, specially for families. "Double Tree Jersey City - worth the trip from NYC"
We all know that hotels in Manhattan can be pricy. So, I decided to give this one a try. It is a great hotel. Very close to the PATH (NJ Transit). It is about $2 each way to and from NYC. You pick up and get off the train in NYC right at 34th - perfect location as it puts you right by Macy's and only a few blocks from Times Square. This hotel is in an fantastic location if you want to be close to the mall and have views of the skyline of New York! It is about 2 blocks away from the PATH station which takes you straight to New York. The rooms are nice and modern and the staff is very helpful. One drawback was that the shuttle doesn't run on the weekends! We had to walk to the PATH […] station, but it wasn't bad the only thing was when we wanted to go to a local restaurant or store. I don't have any problems with this hotel and I've stayed in lots of them. I would recommend this hotel to others because of location and price. "Terrible, outdated, not maintained, cheaply done"
Please don't be fooled by the ratings. Hotel is outdated, cheaply furnished "suites". Broken closet door, towel handle falls off, small bathroom, tub with peeling paint, motel type air/heating unit. Not a true suite, just a room with a half wall separating the room. And it just has a sofa with no tv in the main area. Cheap toiletries. Elevator to garage […] broken half the time. Then to top it off,, they put a great deal into giving you a stale, microwaved cookie. If you are looking for more quality and comfort, look elsewhere. Pretty expensive for what you get. Read more

The Double Tree afforded a fantastic weekend getaway! Checking in was quick, even though I was a bit early, and the receptionist was wonderfully cheerful. When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted with very courteous staff. The front desk was very helpful and knowledgable about the area. We booked two rooms (each had two double beds) for 8 young ladies and had plenty of room. Short 3 block walk to the PATH and then on to NYC. Although this was an overnite stay: it was very nice to come to a very clean room and a very comfortable bed after a tiring day. The warm cookie was an added plus and the receptionist was very courteous. We've had a good time at the Doubletree hotel. The room was very clean. The service excellent.. If you want to go to New York city, you don't need your car because you can go by train. The hotel is near from the path train (about 5 minutes by walk).

The view towards the city is marginal due to buildings in the way. There are hotels closer to the Hudson River which do not have obstructed views. This may not be an issue if you chose the view away from the city.

After reading the reviews, we selected this hotel, not knowing how far it was from the city, but when we got to the hotel, it would work for us. "This hotel is top notch in service and facility."
We checked in early and they upgraded our room to a suite with warm chocolate chip cookies to welcome us. It was a great way to be comfortable in a nice area close to NYC without all the commotion of the city.

"Doubletree Hotel Jersey City - Bedroom of NYC"
I've been to this hotel roughly four years ago. It was fine then (hence the return) but BOY they've done a lot of work to the place. We were with five in one room (can't do that everywhere by the way), two double beds and a sofa bed, intention was to sleep in between excursions to NYC. The hotel is extremely comfortable albeit no complimentary breakfast, […] there is however a reasonably priced and excellently stocked breakfast buffet. There is a free shuttle to the nearby PATH station - so nearby in fact that the shuttle really isn't necessary. I don't know if you can arrange shuttle pickup because we just walked back. The PATH is cheaper than the NYC subway at $1.75 I think it was, and runs frequently to either World Trade Center or along 33rd Street. The staff was friendly and curteous, the hotel certainly underwent MAJOR renovations the past four years, and it looks really recent to me. Room was spacious. Only minor complaint was that internet access was NOT free in the room ($12/hour or some such), though you could access for free downstairs. Microwave, refrigerator and coffee machine with some complimentary coffee and tea. Staff was very friendly and I want to specifically target the outside parking/valet staff and the shuttle driver, awesome fellows all. Found no bedbugs (I looked for them using instructions I found online). The room was really impeccable. Read more
"Thumbs Up for the Double Tree"
I would absolutely stay here again! The only disappointment was that the room was lacking a view, so if you are looking forward to one, be sure to verify ahead of time. And the valet parking wasn't quite valet, so just be prepared to pay to park.
