"Wonderful XV Beacon"
Our third stay at XV Beacon was as wonderful as the first. All in the staff are the best and the rooms are first class. We will definitely stay there again on our next trip to BostonGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Romantic Getaway Weekend"
My wife and I stayed here the weekend of Jan. 24th, 2014 for a two night stay as a quick getaway weekend. We could not have been more pleased with the hotel, the location, the amenities and friendliness of the staff. Despite the frigid temperatures, virtually the entire city was walkable from the hotel and when the wind was too biting, the complementary […] Lexus sedan escort was a wonderful perk, they even drove us back to the airport! The fireplace in the room, luxurious bed and contemporary decor were wonderful. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet stay in the heart of the city. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful Hotel; quiet and off the beaten path."
The hotel staff was most courteous and took the time to get to know you. Overall a pleasant stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
We stay at 4 and 5 stars often, and XV Beacon is up there with the best. The room is a solid, large rectangle. The entire one wall is huge, bright windows with the drapes open. With them closed, it is a luxury setting, delightful large bed, fireplace on the other end, and more than enough room for your stay. The bath has all the comforts of top european […] brands, complete with in wall TV, towel warmers and a huge shower. The radio was playing softly when we arrived. Complimentary fruits in several places on each floor. Fully stocked bar and snack center, with high quality choices. Going to dinner? Don't call a cab. XV has a chauferred Lexus sedan to take you whereever you are going, no charge. The drivers were incredibly knowledgable about Boston history, architecture, and much more. Or, if you wanted quiet, the sedan had full passenger control audio and climate in the back, so you make the choices. Need anything at all? The concierge went out of their way for all our requests, and everything was ready on time. We would stay here everytime we come to Boston. Give it a try and I think you will too. "Convenient and exceptional"
We chose this hotel because of its location. The rooms were rather small, but beautifully appointed. The mattress was super comfortable (Frette bedding certainly didn't hurt!), the fireplace added to the ambiance, and the small shower was soon forgotten because of the rainshower head. The staff could not have been more accommodating and pleasant. The […] rates were a bit on the high end, but I would stay there again on our next visit to Boston! Lovely room and great neighborhood, wonderful service, but even considering this not up to the price tag.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Superb Boston smaller hotel. Incredible bar and restaurant. Service impeccable!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I rented a hotel room for the night for a little "stay-cation" for my husband's birthday. We had plans to go to Mooo for dinner so I figured it would be a nice surprise to stay in the city for a night. Upon entering the room, it was extremely hot and stuffy. I tried to turn down the thermostat but it seemed to be stuck at 80 degrees. I called the front […] desk and they said they would send someone up to fix it. 20 min later we had to leave the room and go for a walk because it was so hot. When we returned the temp had still not moved, even after they tried to fix it. We called downstairs again to tell them we would like to change rooms because it was still extremely hot and obviously wasn't getting any cooler. The girl at the front desk told me that they were going to come up and open the windows and put in some fans to to try and get the temp down because she was sold out and did not have another room to give me. Umm, seriously?? $350+ a night and you want me to try and sleep with huge fans blowing on me?? No way. We went downstairs 15 minutes later because we had dinner reservations and she said that someone had checked out an hour ago and she had another room for me. So, as I had suspected, she just didn't want to give me another room because 1.) 15 min earlier she told me the hotel was sold out but then somehow someone had checked out an hour ago?? 2. Who checks out at 7pm?? Not worth the price if you ask me. Go down the street to the W and get better service Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Valentine's Day weekend"
The room was gorgeous! But we were supposed to have a king-sized bed and got a queen. Other than that the staff, service and furnishings were wonderful. It was also nice to have a fireplace in the room, but the sofa is in the way when looking at the fireplace while still in bed.Genuine Expedia guest review
"The epitome of comfort but no business center."
The music, fireplace, turn-down service, etc. all combined to make Fifteen Beacon the best hotel I've ever encountered. The only struggle was that there wasn't a business center.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for a lovers' night / weekend"
Best hotel in Boston IMO, at least for romantic get-away. Can't beat the in-room fireplace, and the service cannot be topped.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"XV Boston - small rooms, but nice"
Tiny building - lobby, rooms, bathrooms very small. Nice quality though, and easy walk to Quincy Maket and the North End. Would not stay again, as I would prefer larger rooms at this price point.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Fifteen Beacon Thank you for your review. I am glad you like the quality of our hotel and our central location. I am sorry you felt the room was too small. Please know that we have individual rooms ranging from 325 square feet to 495 square feet and seasonal promotions that offer discounted rates. I do hope you will try us again.
"Nice stay, needs a few touch ups"
Great location and comfortable rooms, but the hotel needs to pay more attention to detail. Example, turn down service turned on the radio, but the only station on the radio was mostly static. I'd certainly consider another stay, but will also consider other boutique hotels in the area.Genuine Expedia guest review
The location is fabulous but prices at all the down town hotels is exhorbitant. There were some great perks but with our 2-night, weekday stay I didn't feel we got to take advantage of the amenities that would have made the cost more of a value. We were going to use the car service but there was a 50 minute wait so we decided we could just take the […] T to where we were going and do a bit of walking. We were going to use the concierge one morning but after waiting 15 minutes while she helped another guest, we gave up. We wore sneakers for all the walking so the shoe shine was un-necessary. The robes were scratchy. It was too warm to even think of using the fire place. We couldn't get the room temperature right - either too hot or too cold. We could only get one station on the radio. The room was very nice but we couldn't open the curtains during the day because the office people across the alley could look directly into our room and us into theirs. Also the roof top garden was very noisy due to all the HVAC equipment up there. We didn't even spot the hot tub til we were ready to leave and it wasn't open. Having said that, the people were very nice and I would stay there again for the location. Very easy walking and a nice neighborhood. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I loved this hotel. Very elegant, first class. I would love to come back when it is cool enough to use that fireplace. Didn't end up eating in the restaurant downstairs, but it smelled delicious.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fantastic week-end with the XV at the center"
This was a great place to stay in Boston -- and you pay for what you get. That's a note. Though there were construction in the area -- that's temporary. We had a fireplace failure, but Patrick at the desk immediately found us a room to move. You want a great place to stay: go.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Loved our second stay as much as our first"
This is our second stay at XV, and once again we hated to leave. The friendly service is the best we've seen, the hotel is beautiful and the location can't be beat. We intend to stay here whenever we're in Boston.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The best hotel in Boston"
This is surely one of the nicest hotels in Boston. We stayed here for a week in May 2013, and I must say I haven't stayed in a nicer hotel! The attention they pay to detail is amazing. There is EVERYTHING you require in your room, and the room is a good size and the bed is very comfortable. The restaurant (Moo) is excellent both for dinner and breakfast, […] and the staff in the hotel are like friends. An added bonus - the hotel has limousines for the use of guests on request!! "A splendid retreat in a great city"
This is a superb hotel in almost every way. Very well located for business, shopping, sight seeing...close to the airport (everything is in Boston, but you don't always know that until you get there!#. Extremely comfortable, the fireplaces in the rooms are a special touch and the widescreen TV very welcome. The bed was large, comfortable and had high […] quality bed linen. The bathroom was excellent, with plenty of towels and toiletries. The concierge was especially helpful, finding two excellent restaurants at short notice and making reservations. The house car #complimentary# was brilliant, though keep in mind to book ahead as it wasn't always available. The breakfast was superb and not unreasonably priced. My only slight hesitation is that though the first night we received a turn down service, we did not the second night #despite turning the indicator light to 'service' and the concierge knowing we were out to dinner. For a hotel of this standard and tariff, it is something I expect each evening. It was a little disappointing to find that the service was not consistent in that regard. "Nice boutique hotel in a quiet Boston Neighborhood"
07/23/14 lkfrey clarence, NY
We stayed one night in this hotel in the heart of Beacon Hill. I was swayed by the reviews and opted to stay here instead of the Four Seasons. We liked it...but did not love it. The room was on the small side, as was the bathroom. The room's air conditioning was locked into a number and reverted back to the preset temperature...which was a bit irritating. The location is great for shopping, the historical area, etc. We did enjoy using the hotel's car to take us to the concert we were in town to see. That is always a perk. There is a wonderful restaurant next door that capped off the trip in a great way.

I have stayed here twice this summer and both stays were excellent. The staff is well trained and professional. Room service is remarkably fast and good. Everyone who works here is friendly and confident which shows that the management team is top notch. The rooms are beautifully designed and comfortable. There are a few quirks, the main one being the WiFi which, as other revivers have noted, is unreliable. The quirks make it impossible give it a five but it is a solid four. It is a boutique hotel so the focus is on service and design. I recommend it highly.
"Perfect location for tourists, perfect atmosphere for businessmen"
07/21/14 G G Claremont, California, USA
Can't beat the location of this small "boutique" hotel just steps from the Shaw Memorial, Massachusetts State House, and Freedom Trail. However, during our stay, the hotel was filled with businessmen not tourists. The hotel's free limo service was most appreciated (tho' pre-book the limo with the concierge a.s.a.p. to ensure it's available!) Front-desk (most notably Dustin Leighton) made our stay most pleasant. Our room, tho' an upgrade, was smallish. The a/c was extremely noisy (we found this to be true with other hotels we stayed at on the east coast). The hotel's adjoining restaurant (apparently unassociated with hotel) had loud disco-era music continuously, even at breakfast, making it almost impossible to have a conversation. Breakfast was abundant and very good. Dinner just eh.
"What a disappointment"

We came to Boston unexpectedly to visit a friend in the hospital. It was a huge weekend in Boston between sporting events, the high tourist season, etc. A family member of the friend in hospital booked us a room at XV Beacon. The room (#1001) was cramped and poorly laid out. Outlets were hard to reach, very inconveniently located, and some did not work. The lighting in the room was inadequate and hard to figure out. The wireless was agonizingly slow. The thermostat in the room didn't work and needed replacing. A chair blocked the minibar and the room was so small, there was not place to move the chair to. The bed was very comfortable, but had the peculiarity of being a four-poster; it made the small room seem even smaller and more cluttered. It's a fine location, near Boston Common, but one of the least luxurious "luxury" hotels ever. NOT worth the money!
"Modern, high-end boutique hotel"
15 Beacon is an immaculate, well-appointed modern boutique hotel. The staff is very professional and helpful. The rooms are large and boast up to date technology for iPhones and bluray needs. Your music can even be pumped into the bathroom if you like. The self-igniting fire place is a nice touch and can be made into a romantic centerpiece. The beds are semi-firm, as are the pillows. And the bathroom has an overhead shower head and a jacuzzi bath option. Nice make up mirror for the ladies too. Overall this is a top-shelf boutique hotel that is centrally located to Boston's best sights. You will pay to stay here, but should not be disappointed.
"Beautiful Boston Boutique on Beacon Street"
07/20/14 Anlouise Sydney, Australia
In an excellent location perched on the hill overlooking the common - it was a beautiful neighbourhood showcasing the historical significance and understated grandeur of this great city. We stayed with our 2 boys 4 nights in a corner suite on the 8th floor. Tastefully decorated with quality furnishings - it felt like your own home once inside. The rroms were not oversized but extremely comfortable. One thing I must highlight was the mini-bar and the restaurant wine list. If you take your wine seriously this is a must stay. I understand the wine list is award winning and it was need impressive and we enjoyed sampling some of it. We found the staff to be very friendly, obliging and it really had that boutique feel and intimacy where staff took ownership of the service and ensuring our experience was memorable and tailored to what we wanted. We really liked the Mooo restaurant dining there every day for breakfast and 3 dinners. Food, service was excellent, drawing on seasonal ingredients executed with local flair and very generous servings. Overall would highly recommend - the location was so easy and in a very attractive locale. Would lob to return in autumn to see the colours and sit by the open fire.
"I felt like I was staying at a rich friends apartment..."
07/12/14 redletterday K Miami, Florida
The XV Beacon is a perfectly located, well appointed, beauty of a hotel. I have stayed in a variety of Boston's great hotels but I think I have found my favorite. The staff are superb; they are well educated, friendly, and offer you very personalized service. For example, my teenage son wanted to play basketball at the nearest, outdoor, public court (not your average request). Done, the driver whisked him off to a b.ball court in the North End. I, on the other hand, wanted as many bath salts by the tub as possible. Done. It can be the small touches that make the big differences in feeling pampered. The attitude at the hotel is definitely about taking care of you and trying to make things work for you. The doorman are old school; I love that. They offer lots of info and "scoop" you do not find in guidebooks and online. The XV Beacon name also seems to have "pull" at restaurants that are otherwise booked or have long waits. I experienced a ten minute wait for a table at Stephanie's on Newbury, as opposed to the hour wait, because I told the hostess that the concierge at the XV Beacon sent me over even though we didn't have a reservation. I must admit, I loved that momentary VIP feeling. Bottom line, I plan on returning and will be recommending to friends.
"Cute and Quaint Boutique Hotel"
07/10/14 TigerSB26 Norcross, Georgia
I really would love to give this hotel a 5/5; however, there were a few small things out of place for me. I was traveling on business and am in the industry so tend to notice these things more than most. Overall my stay was great! Very attentive and welcoming staff. The gentlemen who checked me in was really nice and charasmatic and let me check in super early which I know can be difficult at times. The beds were phenomenal... I slept amazing and I travel a lot so it means the world when I get a good nights sleep in a hotel and do not want to get out of bed! A few things that I was put off by were just the placement of certain things in the room. I could not figure out the light switches, why the hair dryer was in the bottom drawer of the closet, the desk was in a dark dimly light area of the room which made it hard to work, the chair by the window blocked the mini bar and amenities, and lastly was the view. I was literally staring directly into someones office while in a towel/robe. It was just a bit uncomfortable. Again, overall, I really enjoyed my stay and that it was a quiet boutique hotel with great character and rooftop gym/terrace. The bar and food was great. I have to give special recognition to Peter/Paul (bad with names) the bellman/driver. He was amazing! So polite and took our group around and pointed out historic landmarks on the way! Very sweet. I hope to be back soon... now that I know where everything in the room located!
"You will not be disappointed"

Despite living in the neighborhood, decided to splurge on a little "stay-cation" last year with my girlfriend. The hotel is in an excellent location downtown. Rooms are nicely appointed and the staff was very friendly and helpful and had no problem changing my room after I wasn't thrilled with the layout of the first one. A nice sitting area with fireplace definitely sets the mood and being able to get room service from Mooo downstairs is just the icing on the cake. I look forward to visiting again.

We decided to stay here for our 3 day trip to Boston & we were happy we did. The staff was extremely friendly & attentive. They were helpful with making recommendations for dinners and things to see. The complimentary town car service is great...Paul did an awesome job taking us to & from Fenway Park. The hotel is conveniently located near many attractions & public transportation. The rooms are spacious. The bathroom was beautiful decorated. There is a small gym & jacuzzi as well as a beautiful roof top deck with comfortable lounge chairs & other seating. We were the only ones on the roof top deck. It's a little pricey, but definitely worth it. Also make sure you take advantage of the concierge services. They did a fabulous job as well.
