The experience was amazing. We got to the hotel late and was greeted with smiles and had their wonderful chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies welcoming us. My boyfriend loves the cookies so he asked if they had more peanut butter cookies, to which they said ofcourse and made a fresh batch of it. Hotel staff were nice and friendly. Smelled like spice/cinnamon when walking in with all the Holiday deco - very "homey" and inviting. There were only three small "issues" we ran into: 1. The close to full size fridge made periodic, sufficiently loud noises, and almost drove us to unplug it when we first arrived. 2. The settings for the heater under […] the window are confusing as the controls were actually on the wall - the AC kicked on and we couldn't turn it off, had to call the front desk to have someone come and check (only to have them adjust the heat/ac from the thermo on the wall). 3. IF you get late checkout for sometime AFTER 12pm (we asked for 2pm) the key cards to your room automatically deactivate ay noon. Girlfriend was locked out for the duration of my shower, no real harm.....but still, it wasn't told to us. Had we BOTH been outside I'd have been really miffed. Only after repeated requests did we get: shampoo, a blanket, and a coffee pot. I enjoyed my stay at Larkspur Landing with my spouse during the Christmas weekend. It was raining buckets, so after shopping at Arden Fair Mall, we spent time to recoup in the comfortable bed and brought up hot chocolate from the lobby. First impression of the room: Opened the freezer door and was surprised of the odor. I didnt want to use the fridge at all. I thought I reserved a queen bed...it seemed to be a full size (size lower than queen). Other than that our stay in Sacramento was very nice. Please share this with Ryan, Operations Mgr at Larkspur.

Travel quite a bit for business and pleasure and this is one of the better hotels I have stayed in. Staff is amazing, great location and very clean and comfortable. I have been disappointed in Trip Advisor ratings before but this is one you will not be disappointed in.

This came highly recommended on tripadvisor. But the room had a loud refrigerator that made it difficult to sleep since it was running all night; if you're a light sleeper, this is not the hotel to go to. The bathroom wasn't much cleaner after each day.

I enjoyed the arts and crafts design of the hotel. Unfortunately, our room was a bit small with a only a queen bed which was the only real problem with this location. The staff were pretty good, for the most part. It was a holiday weekend, so many families were there and participated in the complimentary continental breakfast and complimentary guest […] laundry. The workout facility was small but has a nice outside hot tub. The all suite aspect was nice for making coffee in the AM, but the refrigerator was loud shutting on and off in the middle of the night. The feather bed atop the mattress was a bit annoying, as I was poked with feathers throughout the night. The location is good, away from the main area of Sacramento, but close to a CRUNCH gym (good guest pass from hotel), tennis facility, shopping and good restaurants. Read more

We were rather disappointed with this hotel. The lobby and public areas were nice enough, but the room had very dark carpet that did not look at all new, the wallpaper in the bathroom and the cabinets were cheap, you could not turn on any kind of vent in the bathroom (things can get offensive in a tiny room like that with the bathroom right there!), […] the fridge was loud, and the air-conditioner was impossibly loud, meaning we couldn't use it and thus were too hot all night. The door to the bathroom sticks out in the way of the main room if it is open, and there was only about a foot and a half of space between the queen size bed and the wall on one side. The bed itself was reasonably comfortable -- not too hard nor too soft. However, neither of us were able to sleep -- not exactly what we were hoping for when you paid as much as we did for one night! The water was heavily chlorinated, so I couldn't drink it, which forced me to use their bottled water, which they charge you for. Read more

I loved the Larkspur Landing. It is less than two miles from every restaurant imaginable and a mall. About 10 mins from downtown and there's a golf course next to it. Continental breakfast was great and cleanliness and hospitality of the staff was amazing. Will stay here again.

Everything was clean and new. Very spacious with a full kitchen and fridge and everything you could need in it! Perfect for a romantic getaway. The bed was like a cloud and the location was in a quiet scenic part of Sacramento next to the American River.
