"More and more my hotel of choice."
I am happy to have kitchenette facilities and the location is perfect. The staff is cooperative and pleasant.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Cleanliness is a MUST"
The cleanliness of Residence was 100% to my satisfaction. When my wife and I travel we only really stay in Marriott Residences when out of town. This one was by far the best I have stayed in. We will definitely recommend to all of our friends and family if they are in Rocky Mount, NC!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
One of the best Residence Inn we have ever stayed in. This will surely be the place we stay in every time we visit North Carolina.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Perfect for the type of travel I was on. I would happily stay at this hotel again.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hot tub was out of order, but other than that it was a nice hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent place for overnight stay"
The room was very comfortable and reasonably clean. The staff was courteous and attentive. My only improvement suggestion for this hotel is with its business amenities. I had trouble getting online via the room wi-fi. Once I got online everything was super slow. Thinking maybe it's me, I went to the lobby to use the "business center" computer. It was […] filled with molasses too. The desk attendant said they've been having that problem a lot recently. Seems to me like a hotel in this price point should have faster connectivity. Everything else was fine. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Marriott should come check out the furnishings."
I've stayed in several Residence Inns. This one had old, dirty furnishings that didn't match. It looked like they bought them at a garage sale. Nothing about this place matched what I've come to expect from a Marriott brand.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice welcoming and comfortable Hotel"
Our stay was very nice. They have the best breakfast there, fresh every morning! We had our Maltese with us, have nice area to walk dog with bags to pick up after. Just wish they had KING beds to choose from also. Staff very friendly and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worn out hotel with very noisy heating system."
Thermostat in room was slow to respond to settings and, once the heater came on, it was very loud. The fan/motor (located in a closet in the sitting area of the suite) roared inside the room. The vented outside wall of the HVAC closet was located right outside the window of the bedroom, and it clattered loudly off and on all night. Impossible to sleep. When […] I checked out in the morning and mentioned this to the clerk at the desk, she was apologetic and seemed surprised to hear the complaint. Another customer was checking out at the same time and, overhearing my comments, chimed in that it was the same in her suite! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The room was too small for 3 people, which forced me to pay additional money for a room at another hotel. The room did not have an oven as promised, which caused some inconvenience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fits the bill perfectly"
This hotel is so near the highway and it has everything you could need or want. The staff in particular were so friendly and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
I enjoyed my stay, the service was wonderful, but for the price I expected more up to date furniture in the room, and for the furniture not to be old and worn. The rooms could really use an upgrade if they are going to charge that price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"I Good Stop"
The hotel was in close proximity to I-95 as we were traveling south. We were very glad it is a pet friendly hotel. We were placed in a section of the building close to the pet walk area. It was easy to unload our luggage and move in for the night.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel was pleasant . A little off the beaten path.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Response by Residence Inn by Marriott Rocky Mount Thank you traveller for taking the time to bring this to our attention. This is not the norm for our hotel and this issue has been addressed. We also thank you for staying with us and we look forward to your many returns.
"Great accommodations, great value."
The people where extremely friendly and the amenities where unlike any I've seen we stayed on a Wednesday and in the evening they had a barbecue. They also sold wine, beer. Me and my sister were there for a funeral the accommodations were comforting.
"Has Marriott Residence Inn gone to the dogs??"
10/14/14 shelleyhc New Haven, Connecticut
We have been loyal to the Marriott Brand for 20 years, staying in some wonderful Marriott properties in the US, Europe, Great Britain and Hong Kong. So when we planned a road trip from Connecticut to Charleston SC we chose to stay in Marriott properties along the way. We first stayed in a Spring Hill Suites in Aberdeen, MD, and it was just ok... rather ho hum, but okay. The Marriott Residence Inn Rocky Mount, NC was a huge disappointment. The carpeting in the halls was stained. The carpet in the elevator was frayed. There was mildew in the tub enclosure, and the furniture upholstery had lots of cracks from wear and tear. The place is in need of major clean up and renovation. There were a significant number of 4 legged guests and the hallway had a slight odor of "animal". I must say that the staff was pleasant and the breakfast was fine, but this did not look, feel, or smell like what I expect from a Marriott. We stayed one night on our way to Charleston and returned (thinking maybe we had been too critical) on our way back to stay another night. It was just as bad on the return! It was not quite as bad as the Residence Inn West End in Richmond, where we also stayed on this trip. I was truly disappointed in Marriott !

Stayed here recently with a friend overnight. Not a lot of time to admire the hotel, as I usually enjoy staying at Residences for several days at a time. But here are my impressions: - Solid amenities including kitchen and "living room" areas. - Separate washing and toilet/shower areas; I see this as a disadvantage, because you can't wake up early and wash up quietly without waking up another person...there's no door between the bed and the sink. So unless you can shave in the dark very quietly, there's a good chance that your travel partner will stir in the bed a few times... - Excellent breakfast for this price point. See pic. Scrambled eggs warm enough to melt the shredded cheddar cheese; YES! Grave on sausages, roasted taters, juice, honeydew, and some kind of breakfast parfait. Definitely hit the spot. Enjoy your stay.

The staff is professional and very pleasant. The facilities spot on fantastic. The meet and greet is phenomenal. Rating for hotels are five, I rate this one a six. I will recommend the Marriott Residence Inn to my family and friends traveling in the area. The Residence Inn is something special. Home away from home.

I have had many visits at this hotel. The rooms are nice and the service from the staff is impeccable. They are always the same staff members and they always remember me- no matter how long it is between stays. It really makes me feel appreciated as a guest in their hotel. The hotel is in a good location, also. I highly recommend.
"Always a great stay"

My family stays at Residence Inn whenever we are in town to see our daughter who is in college in Rocky Mount. Since our first visit, on the coldest day of the year in Rocky Mount in 2014, the staff has been phenomenal. When we are in town, we now feel like family. We have stayed four times, and from check-in, to accommodating any special requests, the hotel staff has always been professional and helpful. On our last visit, we relaxed out by the pool area for dinner and it was perfect. The rooms are spacious and even though it's not the newest hotel, they do a great job of maintaining it as a Marriott property.

The hotel provided good accommodations for the Down East Viking Football Classic. The front desk staff were so helpful. James, the manager, was very helpful with room assignments. He displayed complete professionalism.
"Basic Suite with Good Service in an Excellent Location"
09/16/14 casaraton Washington DC, District of Columbia
I had a long drive to Charleston and Rocky Mount happened to be located around the midway point. I also had a certificate to burn thanks to Marriott's Rewards and the Residence Inn was in the proper redemption category, so I 'sprang' for a suite. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful in the brief time I spent there. The room itself adhered to Marriott's favorite color scheme, yellow and red. Everything was clean and serviceable. The bed was comfortable. The bath had the usual basic assortment of amenities such as soap and shampoo, although oddly the shampoo was a local brand while the conditioner was by the standard supplier, Paul Mitchell. The iron and board had seen better days. Unlike some hotels which boast of possessing a kitchen (*Cosmopolitan Las Vegas*), the hotel fully stocks its cabinets with dishes, utensils, and cleaning supplies. For free. Also like most Marriotts, free breakfast is provided with, again, the usual range of offerings from yogurt and bagels to potato pancakes and make-your-own waffles. There is also a "manager's reception" most evenings; since I didn't partake, I can't report on it. The Residence Inn has in close proximity the Interstate and a smattering of eateries; it's part of the Gateway Center complex which has hotels, restaurants and the small convention center all within walking distance. For comfort and convenience, the Residence Inn might have a bit a difficulty standing out against the other hotels which are in a similar class and are nearby (including a Courtyard by Marriott). It's a good pick though and probably will not disappoint.
"Good visit this trip"

This is our now 6th stay here as our waypoint between returning from Hilton Head to Washington. Very good and comfortable room, SAFE area & parking, two walking distance good eateries and most important - pet (our dog) friendly! Nice, helpful staff, good breakfast ( waffles too! ) easy on and off I 95 just off 64. Ask for a room off the Rt. 64 (noise) and the front desk will pack you up ice in baggies should you need it.

This is one of the nastiest hotels I've ever been in. 2 bedroom suite, 2 cups in cabinet, both dirty. One had some liquid slime at the bottom. 1 fork in the drawer also not clean. We would have left but this was prepaid and we were traveling with our dog so choices are few.
