"More and more my hotel of choice."
I am happy to have kitchenette facilities and the location is perfect. The staff is cooperative and pleasant.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Cleanliness is a MUST"
The cleanliness of Residence was 100% to my satisfaction. When my wife and I travel we only really stay in Marriott Residences when out of town. This one was by far the best I have stayed in. We will definitely recommend to all of our friends and family if they are in Rocky Mount, NC!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
One of the best Residence Inn we have ever stayed in. This will surely be the place we stay in every time we visit North Carolina.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Perfect for the type of travel I was on. I would happily stay at this hotel again.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hot tub was out of order, but other than that it was a nice hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent place for overnight stay"
The room was very comfortable and reasonably clean. The staff was courteous and attentive. My only improvement suggestion for this hotel is with its business amenities. I had trouble getting online via the room wi-fi. Once I got online everything was super slow. Thinking maybe it's me, I went to the lobby to use the "business center" computer. It was […] filled with molasses too. The desk attendant said they've been having that problem a lot recently. Seems to me like a hotel in this price point should have faster connectivity. Everything else was fine. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Marriott should come check out the furnishings."
I've stayed in several Residence Inns. This one had old, dirty furnishings that didn't match. It looked like they bought them at a garage sale. Nothing about this place matched what I've come to expect from a Marriott brand.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice welcoming and comfortable Hotel"
Our stay was very nice. They have the best breakfast there, fresh every morning! We had our Maltese with us, have nice area to walk dog with bags to pick up after. Just wish they had KING beds to choose from also. Staff very friendly and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worn out hotel with very noisy heating system."
Thermostat in room was slow to respond to settings and, once the heater came on, it was very loud. The fan/motor (located in a closet in the sitting area of the suite) roared inside the room. The vented outside wall of the HVAC closet was located right outside the window of the bedroom, and it clattered loudly off and on all night. Impossible to sleep. When […] I checked out in the morning and mentioned this to the clerk at the desk, she was apologetic and seemed surprised to hear the complaint. Another customer was checking out at the same time and, overhearing my comments, chimed in that it was the same in her suite! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The room was too small for 3 people, which forced me to pay additional money for a room at another hotel. The room did not have an oven as promised, which caused some inconvenience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fits the bill perfectly"
This hotel is so near the highway and it has everything you could need or want. The staff in particular were so friendly and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
I enjoyed my stay, the service was wonderful, but for the price I expected more up to date furniture in the room, and for the furniture not to be old and worn. The rooms could really use an upgrade if they are going to charge that price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"I Good Stop"
The hotel was in close proximity to I-95 as we were traveling south. We were very glad it is a pet friendly hotel. We were placed in a section of the building close to the pet walk area. It was easy to unload our luggage and move in for the night.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel was pleasant . A little off the beaten path.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Basic Suite with Good Service in an Excellent Location"
09/16/14 casaraton Washington DC, District of Columbia
I had a long drive to Charleston and Rocky Mount happened to be located around the midway point. I also had a certificate to burn thanks to Marriott's Rewards and the Residence Inn was in the proper redemption category, so I 'sprang' for a suite. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful in the brief time I spent there. The room itself adhered to Marriott's favorite color scheme, yellow and red. Everything was clean and serviceable. The bed was comfortable. The bath had the usual basic assortment of amenities such as soap and shampoo, although oddly the shampoo was a local brand while the conditioner was by the standard supplier, Paul Mitchell. The iron and board had seen better days. Unlike some hotels which boast of possessing a kitchen (*Cosmopolitan Las Vegas*), the hotel fully stocks its cabinets with dishes, utensils, and cleaning supplies. For free. Also like most Marriotts, free breakfast is provided with, again, the usual range of offerings from yogurt and bagels to potato pancakes and make-your-own waffles. There is also a "manager's reception" most evenings; since I didn't partake, I can't report on it. The Residence Inn has in close proximity the Interstate and a smattering of eateries; it's part of the Gateway Center complex which has hotels, restaurants and the small convention center all within walking distance. For comfort and convenience, the Residence Inn might have a bit a difficulty standing out against the other hotels which are in a similar class and are nearby (including a Courtyard by Marriott). It's a good pick though and probably will not disappoint.
"Good visit this trip"

This is our now 6th stay here as our waypoint between returning from Hilton Head to Washington. Very good and comfortable room, SAFE area & parking, two walking distance good eateries and most important - pet (our dog) friendly! Nice, helpful staff, good breakfast ( waffles too! ) easy on and off I 95 just off 64. Ask for a room off the Rt. 64 (noise) and the front desk will pack you up ice in baggies should you need it.

This is one of the nastiest hotels I've ever been in. 2 bedroom suite, 2 cups in cabinet, both dirty. One had some liquid slime at the bottom. 1 fork in the drawer also not clean. We would have left but this was prepaid and we were traveling with our dog so choices are few.
"Home away from home..."

I spent the last 16 weeks living in this hotel Monday-Thursday while on a work assignment in Rocky Mount. The service was great, and the rooms are very comfortable. Melyssa and Ann are fantastic, and did everything they could to make me and my co-workers feel at home. Thanks so much, and I'll definitely be staying at this hotel if I am ever in town again!
"Keep on driving!!"
08/31/14 Pamela J Tabernacle, New Jersey
Marriott should be embarrassed to have their name on this hotel!! The carpet in the room was sticky...yes, sticky! Not in one spot or one room but the entire "One Bedroom Suite." Our feet actually stuck to the carpet when we walked. The shower was moldy, the shower curtain rod was barely attached to the wall which caused about 5 inches of the shower curtain to lie on the floor of the tub. The water in the tub didn't drain properly which resulted in a tub full of water while we were showering. This place was filthy in general! If it wasn't 11:30 p.m. we would have insisted on a refund and continued driving.
"Felt like a B&B"
08/25/14 Bill M Charlotte, North Carolina
I stayed at the Residence Inn Rocky Mount last week for one night on business and the service and attention to detail felt more like a cozy bed & breakfast than a chain hotel. Anne and James were always close by looking to make my experience better. They made me wish I had more reason to go to Rocky Mount on business. The room was very clean and comfortable as well.
"Excellent staff at the Residence Inn!!"
08/24/14 ladytruk Westminster, California
What a great staff!!! My first encounter with James was over the phone!! I had a problem and he solved it very quickly!! I misplaced my credit card and only had cash and we were accomodated anyway (unlike the Candlewood Inn and Suites)!!! When we arrived everyone was polite and gracious. The staff from the clerks to the maids were kind. The rooms were fine, yes they could be updated but it was no problem!!! Looking forward to coming back to stay again soon!!! Fidel and Yvonne

Ok...why a five and not a three? The hotel was terrific rooms are clean neat and are in need of facelift!...the bed was comfy, summer quilt lots of pillows. The bathroom is clean. Towels , mini soap shampoo conditioner. The air was on and QUIET. The couch was ok. The table and chairs have been in suitcase wars... Nicked, chipped. However, minor to the total. The breakfast is Marriott quality and standards. The lounge is open , clean , with chairs, couch, tables and chairs, TV and fireplace . The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Will stay there again!
"In need of Major Renovation"

Let me first say that we have stayed at this hotel on previous trips a few years ago and really enjoyed our stay. We chose the Residence Inn because we have young children and like to have a separate bedroom and living area. It has been a few years since we have stayed there, but it was in terrible condition. This is far from a $145.00 per night hotel! We were given room looked liked it was put together with whatever appliances and furniture was laying around. There was spilled paint on the dishwasher and the appliances and entire kitchen was worn and outdated. The room itself had an "old musty" odor and was very worn . Carpeting was torn and pulled in areas and the furniture was not in good condition. The bathroom was poor as well. The showerhead was loose and was not given any shampoo for the room. The television in the room obviously didn't belong because it was very small and looked like it was stuck to a nightstand in the living room. The pool area in the hotel was even worse. The pool itself was falling apart and there was a layer or concrete dust/sand in the bottom. The bottom step of the ladder was broken and my daughter almost cut her foot trying to get out. There was an abundance of bugs around the pool and the entire area needs some upkeep. The hot tub had a layer of grease and hair in it and would not even go near it. The sport court area was in need of repair as well. The basketball hoop was broken, tennis net not existent, and netting around the court completely ripped up. Even the common areas were frayed and outdated. Noticed ripped and torn wallpaper in the lobby bathroom and not recently cleaned. We have never had an experience like this at a Residence Inn before and after a 9 hour drive, we did not feel like arguing and trying to find another suite. We did drive around the area and found many other hotels to choose from on our next visit. We stayed in another Residence Inn in Maryland on our way home from vacation and it was a completely opposite experience. That just proved to us that the Residence Inn in Rocky Mount is in need of a major renovation. We did see some work being done, but was not sure if it was minor touch ups, or a hotel facelift. We should have avoided the hotel once I tried to make reservations directly and they did not have any phone service. We had to book through the Marriott Reservations department. We have completed and returned their hotel survey and have also followed up with the hotel manager via email. It has been over 2 weeks and not response. I would avoid this hotel due to their current conditions and the fact they are still charging full rates ($127.30 plus tax) for a run down dirty hotel.
"Quiet hotel for empty nestters"
08/18/14 NAYOK38 Jacksonville, Florida
It was our first time visiting Rocky Mount. We needed a hotel early in the morning and they so graciously accomodated us. We were able to check in at 8:00 a.m. so we could get our son settled into school. The front desk lady, I don't know her name, was so helpful, she deserves a raise, and I am not just saying that. The hotel is old and dated, need alot of renovations but the bed was cozy and the breakfast great...we enjoyed our stay at the Residence Inn Rocky Mount, NC.
