"will stay here again"
Great stay, good staff! Great location for dining and close to airport.Genuine Expedia guest review
Breakfast was not very good. Yes, I know it was mostly instant but selection was bad. Not worth 6.95Genuine Expedia guest review
"Overnight family vacation"
Best hotel in the area. The only complaint is that the curtains do not close, so the sun is shining bright which takes away from sleeping in and relaxing..Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to UMich. Comfortable and clean"
This hotel was clean, comfortable and conveniently close to the University. The pool and hot tub were also nice. Breakfast was standard fare but served hot and everything in the dining area was clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent location and facility - Five star!"
The room was wonderful, bed was very comfortable, very clean. The pool and jacuzzi were well taken care of and perfect temperature - great relaxation! The morning breakfast - free - was great. They had cereal, but also waffles, egg & cheese omlette (premade but good non-the-less) hard boiled eggs, juices, toast, bagels, what a deal! The hotel staff […] was friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Average at best"

Rooms were clean......bed was way too soft....bathrooms were extremely small....toilet was way to low to the floor....overpriced for no fridge or microwave....maids were efficient and prompt......breakfast was adequate but no microwave to heat anything up.
"Clean, comfortable, quiet"

Stayed here on a football weekend, but didn't seem particularly busy. Room was fine: bed and pillows were comfortable. Ventilation system worked well and was quiet. Bathroom was smaller than usual. Definitely one person at a time. Breakfast had a lot of variety of hot and cold items. Coffee available all day. Helpful staff at front desk. Ample free parking. Did not use the pool or fitness facilities. No refrigerator or microwave in the standard king room. I know it is a college town and this was a football weekend, but I had to mark down for value based on the lack of some features considering the size of the price markup.
"Nice, clean suite - great hotel & location"
11/02/14 SOOTY22286 New Hampshire
Very clean, crisp hotel - suite had more than enough room for my wife and I, on a visit to our daughter's college town (UMich). All of the staff we encountered were above average - all very nice, went beyond the call (we got an unsolicited upgrade to a better room when we arrived), all willing to help. Breakfast buffet is nice selection of foods, and the hotel now has a pool (we stayed when hotel was new, don't believe they had a pool then). Great location within walking distance to neighboring hotel (where there is a full restaurant and bar) as well as a big shopping mall. Parking was always close to the door no matter what time you return to the hotel, didn't require walking around to the back of the hotel, even though a homecoming weekend and hotel was full. Drive to UM campus minutes away, even with football weekend traffic.

This is a wonderful property. Our room was very clean, breakfast had a very good variety and tasted wonderful, and the staff is great. Hotel is right across the street from a mall, which is an added bonus. I would definitely recommend this property.

They had a consistent staff on each shift. Breakfast was a nice variety over the week. And a good variety each day. There was enough options for anyone's breakfast preferences. The disappointment was no refrigerator in the room. The rest of the room met expectations. I will stay there again.

I stayed here with my parents and my children. The suite was a better option than getting two adjoining rooms. Breakfast had a lot of options to keep everyone happy. The bathroom was not central in the room so if someone is sleeping on the pull out sofa in the separate room, they have to come into the bedroom area to use it. My boys didn't like sleeping in a separate room so they ended up piling in the double beds with the grandparents and me. :) We took the shuttle from the hotel to the Michigan football game and all went well. Will definitely stay here again.
"Don't Stay Here"
08/29/14 Scales1967 Ann Arbor, Michigan
This hotel is about the same in appearance as the average Hampton Inn. However, they have no qualms whatsoever about gouging travelers. This weekend is move-in for Michigan students and there is a home football game. The hotel is asking $169 for the average room. These rooms have no refrigerators or microwave ovens. For that convenience, one has to reserve a suite at an even higher rate. Even most dumps have refrigerators and microwave ovens nowadays. In addition, the complimentary computers in the lobby for guest use are ridiculous. One does not open pdf files but is attached to a printer. The one that can open pdf files has no printer and looks like it was manufactured before the turn of the century. I mean really. The University of Michigan is a major institution. Countless people travel to Ann Arbor because of the university, but this hotel won't invest in computers that are not an embarassment.
"Great hotel, great service."

We brought a youth hockey team to Ann Arbor for a pre-season camp. We had a great experience.. from a 2-minute check in for 8 rooms set up exactly as requested, to a great breakfast and nice pool area. The service was VERY friendly and helpful. I felt the employees truly cared about our stay. Although not the cheapest on the block, and all the rooms do not include fridges or microwaves, the service made up for it. We will definitely book again next time.
"Service was wonderful! The room is standard, but clean."

We stayed here for a convention. We were treated very well. We have 2 children and we felt comfortable here. We had an issue with our remote, but it was fixed fast. The toilet looked like it was coming off the floor and the faucet was shooting water across the bathroom. But we could live with it, because we were happy with everything else. The people working the front desk are so nice. Housekeeping, ahhh, cannot understand a word you say...at all. Had to play Charades with them daily to get extra towels. We used the pool often and it was clean. We loved the free breakfast. They are missing a workout room, but I was told I could use the hotel next door for their work out room, because they are owned by the same lady. We were happy here and would return.
"Nice Short Stay"
07/19/14 Hotelman325 Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan
Overall, it was a nice stay. It's right across the street from Briarwood Mall, so it's easy access to restaurants and shopping. I highly recommend Briarwood; there is a very good selection of shops and restaurants! The staff were friendly for the most part, but it almost felt like they didn't put in much effort to try make your make your stay extra special. The room was clean, pretty basic it seemed like for a Holiday Inn Express. Comfy beds, nice TV, good desk and workstation. The lights in the bathroom were a little dirty, though. The breakfast was pretty good; they had very good cinnamon rolls and a machine that made pancakes for you, which I thought was pretty cool! The wi-fi worked pretty well. If you are looking for a little snack at night, the snack vending machines on the 1st floor are very inexpensive! They have a pool, but didn't get the chance to use it. Also, in the evenings, they have fruit punch, lemonade, and flavored water in the lobby which was a nice touch! In conclusion, I don't know if I would transfer to Holiday Inn Express from Hampton for my go-to hotel, but nevertheless I would stay at a HIE again.
