Overall...acceptable. However, there were a few maintenance issues with my room. The toilet continued to run, the HVAC would switch from heat to cooling after running for a day (and it was cold during our stay, so that made for a chilly wake up one morning), the towel rack was rusty, a hole in the bathroom door had a substandard patch job, and the drywall […] on one of the corners needed repairs due to suitcases banging into it. The hotel was overbooked and even though we had made reservations months in advance when we arrived to check in our rooms had been given to other guest that had complained about their rooms. It took them a while to find us some rooms (we went and ate diner while they did). We had booked two double queen rooms and got one double queen and one king room. […] All the hotels in the area were booked so I was glad they at least found us some rooms. good except some of the springs on the hide a bed were broken and had to be propped up with a cushion. A simple addition of 3 springs would fix it.

Padded carpeting was very soft - excellent. Quiet. Value was good. Not a great location for health conscience - ie. walking, parks, etc. Nice mini suite layout. Bed a bit on squashy side. Some signs of age. Bathroom faucet spit out stream of water sideways - tub faucet about to come off. Jacuzzi water tepid at best - could not find how to turn jets […] on. I had to wait for my room beyond my check in time. I was very tired! The rooms that were ready were on the second floor and the elevator was not working and then I would not trust it work so I opted to a first floor and it was not a room I would have chosen. It was for a handicapped person. However the bed was good and it was clean. I do not see myself […] staying there again. I must mention that the food was satisfactory but the fitness room needed fixing immediately. I could not use it. The hotel was OK at best. This hotel and others around it seemed to be quite old. They did attempt to update, but the paint just did not cut it. The beds were old and sagged in the middle. The walls were thin. The eggs and sausage at breakfast were not eatable. I wil not be back unless there is no other choice.

I have Verizon, and I get no cell service inside the hotel. Other than not being able to make or take calls, it was a pleasant stay. The hotel is very close to about 15 restaurants.

Their idea of a "suite" was 2 beds squeezed together, one pushed up against a wall so that you had to crawl out, over the other person in bed. There was a small couch and endtable that enabled the hotel to call this a suite. The closet was so tiny, only about 2 feet wide. Only booked this hotel because I the indoor pool but when we checked in we realized it was closed for repairs. We were able to walk next door to another hotels outdoor pool but it was freezing. The drain on the tub was broke and wouldn't hold water. I called and she said she would try and get someone from maintenance but they never showed up nor did […] she ever call me. The evening staff at Comfort Suites Lufkin were superb. We were greeted warmly, and the staff provided great small talk as they sorted out the slight confusion with the reservation through Hotels.com. The room was clean and fresh smelling. The small couch/lounge area in each room is quite comforting. Our television was starting to go bad, you could […] tell by the lines at the top of the screen. We informed the staff, just as an FYI, and they offered to bring us another immediately. I didn't opt for that, as I didn't expect to be awake for long, but I really appreciated the offer. Room 119- the A/C did not work. Front desk help unplugged it, plugged it back in, turned down A/C temp to 60 ( as far as it goes) - nothing. Turned on heater, then turned down A/C to 60 - it worked. BUT- only when set to 60 degrees! Set at 61 and it stops and repeat above all over. Desk wanted to replace it at 10:00 at night and i was dead tired. Couldn't […] get another room- the hotel was booked. Couldn't go to another hotel as the whole town was booked. So, i listend to the A/C cycle every 10 mins and covered up with blankets, didn't sleep much. starting at 5 in the morning heard a steady, continuopus knocking sound coming form across the hall. I went to the desk to point this out ( you could hear it at the front desk!) and they said they were wondering what that noise was and said they would report it to maintenance. Also, The right side hotel entry door cardkey did not function, so once you went out, you were locked out, and had to go through the main entrance. You could never use this as a hotel entrance for the same reason. I also reported this to the front desk in person.One of the worst nights i have ever had at a hotel. I won't be going back. It was pretty clean, the carpet seemed as if it needed to be shampooed. The electrical plug in the base of the lamp on the desk was loose. The staff I came in contact with were very helpful and kind. The lid to the coffee carafe was the wrong one and wouldn't stay on. There was a lot of static on the hotel phone and the cell phone wouldn't work. The […] continental breakfast had a lot to offer. I RESERVED THIS HOTEL BECAUSE OF IT'S INDOOR POOL AND HOT TUB, SINCE WE WERE TRAVELING WITH OUR KIDS. THE POOL HAD RUST AND DIRT IN IT AND WAS NOT HEATED. THE HOT TUB HAD RED DIRT IN THE BOTTOM OF IT AND WHEN YOU TURNED IT ON, YOU HAD BUBBLES BUT NO HEAT.
