I was so pleasantly welcomed by the staff at check-in. The room was beautifully decorated and had all the ammenities to make for a lovely stay. Breakfast was delicious and the sun room where it is located was just splendid. Overall the experience was terrific and the price was quite a bargain for what was expected.
"One more business trop"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Enjoyed the stay. Only having stayed at many Courtyard facilities, I was a little disappointed not to find a frig, micro etc, in the room. Bathroom sink area a bit smaller than most. Other wise a nice stay.
"comfortable faded glory"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
It was a pleasant stay, and not bad for the money. (Given, of course, that the dollar is fast becoming worthless, and so prices for everything are wildly inflated.) This place must have been pretty nice twenty years ago. Now the signs of wear are evident everywhere... the carpet is worn and a bit ratty, the porcelain was chipped and stained in the sink, and everything seemed just... tired. Still, it was comfortable and clean, and I'd stay there again unless I found a better deal nearby.
"Good Value"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
We stayed for four days and had very enjoyable time. The hotel is near shopping , points of interest and walking opportunities. The park like setting with swimming pool is very attractive and restful. Complimentary breakfast is convenient and adequate. Overall, avery nice experience.

This is a perfect hotel to stay at before a concert at the HP Pavilion. Arrived in the afternoon, then walked to the Coldplay concert in the evening. The hotel is a little dated, but charming
"Great Hotel...would stay here again."
I was pretty pleased with this hotel...within walking distance to the HP Pavilion and San Pedro street with lots of bars. We arrived in San Jose pretty early on a Saturday morning and when we asked for early check-in, the front desk said to come back at 11am and they would try and accommodate us. We came back and we got a room! Rooms are pretty cozy. […] There was a comment about the bathtub being raised but I didn't think that was that big of a deal...there is a obvious warning sign. There's also a mini tv in the bathroom. Agreed with most of the comments re: Raid the Pantry. On the second floor, from 10PM-5AM, the hotel offers a bunch of snacks: fruit and meat for sandwiches and coffee. I wish there were more items like chips or pretzels or pizzas other type of junk food you would crave at 10PM. Overall, really liked this hotel. Would def stay here again! Read more
"Awesome location to the HP Pavillon"
Went to a concert at the Sharks arena and this hotel was so close and a short walk away. The "raid the pantry" was awesome since most things were closed around the area to get some food - however it is the size of a pantry (kind of small) and hot in there. A couple more options would have been nice, but it was a good snack and FREE!
"Perfect location"
We loved our stay at the hotel. Perfect location and so clean and comfortable... I have t felt that comfortable in a hotel in a long long time. Thank you.
"We loved this place"
Everything was very nice, the bed was comfortable but, not as comfortable as one of sheritons heavenly beds. Frankly we are very spoiled regarding beds because we have a 3,500 dollar gel bed. This place was perfect for a pavilion event. Restaurants and the pavilion are both in easy walking distance.

"RAID THE PANTRY"
First stay at Hotel De Anza and we LOVED it. Just a short walk to HP Pavillion. We dined at the hotel's restaurant and enjoyed the atmosphere and meal. The "Raid The Pantry" was novel and a wonderful idea. Between 10 PM and 5 AM, you can grab a sandwich, cookies, fruit (all self serve). We remember in the past once the hockey game was finished, there […] were NO placed to grab something to eat on the weekdays....the city closes down. Thanks to everyone at the hotel for a wonderful stay. We will ALWAYS choose this hotel in the future! Read more
"Great location"
Great location, small but comfortable rooms. Great views. All in all quite happy with our one night stay. Am looking forward to doing it again, especially when the Sharks win. :o)
"Loved it here!"
Rooms are smallish, but everything else makes up for it! Great service, good food, and nice location. There's a certain doorman there, mustache I believe - SUPER nice, helpful, professional. He made me feel like I was an old friend coming for a visit. Would stay here again anytime!
"The DeAnza Hotel-Good but not Great"
Liked that the hotel is old and historic but I want a nice, plush bed when I stay at a hotel and this wasn't it! Room was fine. Service was fine, everyone was friendly, housekeeping was very prompt with requests. Basically, the bed was the deal breaker for me.
"Hotel DeAnza - Great for HP Pavilion events"
Hotel is very close to the HP Pavilion; definitely within walking distance. The hotel is very nice inside, and the staff are friendly. There is very little parking in the area so you will want to bring an extra $20+ with you to pay for the valet that the Hotel DeAnza offers. Its $20 for over night valet and its added onto your room bill. Dont forget […] to tip the valet drivers though. :) Great hotel would love to stay there again Read more
"Hard to sleep"
The mattress of my room was very uncomfortable, and the AC unit is very loud. I wake up in the middle of the night with a strong back pain that lasted for the next two days. As I'm seeing several reviewers very happy with their stay, I guess that the hotel has rooms that have better mattresses than that of my room. So now I'm regretting not having […] called the reception to ask for a better room. Read more
"Hotel De Anza - Pros vs. Cons"
PROS: This is a beautiful art deco style hotel. It feels like you stepped back in time to the 1930/40's but with all the modern amenities. The lounge is very classy. Upon check-in they gave me a couple Oatmeal Raisin Cookies from the restaurant. They were awesome. The room was spacious and elegant. I had a show at the McEnery Convention Center and although […] it wasn't exactly around the corner it was a pleasant jaunt. CONS: Internet service is wired ONLY and $8.99/day. Free Wifi is available in the lobby only. MISHAP: I use an ATM card not a Credit Card so they needed to authorized $100 deposit for incidentals. I booked my reservation on Hotels.com (obviously) and they accidentally charged my ATM card for the full price of the hotel on top of the $100 deposit. It takes up to 5-days to get that sort of thing reversed on an ATM. Read more

"Hotel De Anza"
Room had a extremely strong mildew smell
"Very nice!"
We stayed there because we were going to the HP Pavilion for a concert. It was an easy walk over, the hotel was clean and nicely updated. We would stay there again.

"Hotel de Anza in San Jose, Ca"
The Hotel de Anza in San Jose is in a great downtown location that is convenient for getting to HP Pavilion. The hotel is in a renovated deco era building and is well maintained.

"Historical Yet Renovated Hotel De Anza Downtown SJ"
As soon as I arrived, the exterior of the building and the brand, completely nervous, unwelcoming, new employee at the front desk gave me a bad impression... Also the fact that because I booked the room through hotels.com ( currently owned by Expedia ), I was not given my room preference, and instead given a double bed room right in front of the elevator, […] and informed by the manager that its best to go through website if I want to get a nicer room. Luckily they were willing to give me an upgrade to a suite for 50% of the normal rate. After we got through this.. I quickly warmed up to the hotel and will definitely return. Read more
Helpful staff. Nice amenities. In walking distance to San Jose State and several places to eat.
"It was perfect"
My family had a wonderful experience staying at the De Anza Hotel last weekend. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet. My parents, who are both in their late 80s, loved the hotel. The staff was delightful. I would stay there again in a San Jose minute.....
"If your going to HP stay here."
This place is a five minute walk to the Shark tank. There are bars and restaurants five minutes in the other direction. Great rooms for a great price. Raid our panty was a huge plus after the restaurants stop serving food.

"Hotel De Anza---Old World Feel with Modern Service"
My husband and I recently chose the Hotel De Anza for a weekend away when we were attending a San Jose Sharks game. Every type and style of restaurant is walking distance from the hotel including a short one block walk to the Shark Tank. The hotel staff was amazing. Our room were small, yet well appointed and very cozy with modern amenities and decor. […] It is the perfect mix of antiques and old world feel (Eleanor Roosevelt was a guest) and fantastic service. The evening "Raid our Pantry" was awesome. Deli Sandwiches, coffee, and homemade cookies are free from 10 p.m.-5 a.m. There is a restaurant and evening lounge on site for entertainment. We are already looking forward to going back to this hotel again. Read more

"Beds are horrible! :-("
Husband and I stayed here 1 night for our anniversary. We chose the hotel for its distance to HP Pavilion, where we were seeing a show that evening. The beds and pillows were so uncomfortable that neither of us slept well. We may have well just slept on the floor. We will not be staying here again.

"I would stay there again!"
The hotel is lovely and the staff are kind. The room was very nice. The ONLY things wrong were that it took around 15 minutes for me to find the heater thermostat (it's huge, don't know how i missed it especially given the good description of the panel in the binder), and the DVD/VCR player's remote control had bad batteries, and the housekeeper didn't […] change them out despite my note requesting it. But other than that, it was a great hotel and I would stay there again! Read more
"Great place to stay"
The hotel was super nice. The staff was great from the front desk, to the valet staff, to the bartender. We loved the bar. Good drinks and friendly people. The best part was the "raid our pantry". No one gives away free stuff anymore....It was a fun place with a great location. we will definately go again.
"Hotel De Anza, San Jose"
Best location for HP Pavillion Events. Wallking distance to events and dining.
"Great place- bit pricey but good stay!"
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was not as fancy as I would have expected for the price, in that the rooms were a bit dated. However, the hotel was still very nice and the staff was exceptional! Very friendly and helpful. They provide a turn-down service, cookies at check-in and fresh apples and coffee at the front desk. A positive […] experience and great staff for sure! Read more

"Great place to stay for events at the HP"
Nice clean hotel that is close to HP Pavilion. We walked to the Sharks game. Los Gatos Brew Pub is a block away. I'd stay here next time we go to the NHL. DId I mention that the room was quiet even though the SJ International flight pattern goes over the building.
"Hotel Deanza"
nice hotel but it's directly under the flight path for airplanes landing at San Jose airport. It's very noisy and I can't recommend this hotel due to the excessive noise of airplanes landing.

"Catching up with an old friend"
Planned a meeting with an old friend at the hotel. The bar atmoshpere was great. We were able to catch up without loud music or waitresses. It was walking distance to many resturaunts. Once we returned from dinner there was a jazz band playing some cool jazz. There again we could hear each other speaking.

"Great Place to Stay"
I really enjoyed the stay. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The property was well maintained. It was refreshing to find hotel staff who actually had personalities! Those of us who are away on business appreciate being treated like a person and not just another warm body with baggage to check in. Raid the pantry is a great idea. More hotels should […] take note! "lovely"
Located in a nice part of San Jose close to shops, restaurants, etc... Very comfortable bed, nice bar with decent happy hours and excellent drinks.
"Love this hotel :)"
They have a free snack deli bar in the middle of the night. Perfect when your coming home late from the bars hungry!
