There was construction outside our room window. This construction work was an ongoing long-term project, which should have been informed to us way in advance and not once mentioned in their website or the hotel information. This is a poor reflection on the hotel, and nothing was done by the hotel to make the stay a pleasant one. There is an air-conditioned […] gym but the treadmills were malfunctioned. The hotel is in a good central location but the hotel is too expensive for the type of room. My room smelled like durian fruit. I paid for a king size bed but it was actually two very stiff twin beds shoved together so that you cannot sleep near the center of the bed without sleeping on the gap between the two twin beds.

Overall, a pleasant experience. Check-in was efficient and staff were polite. My only criticisms of the hotel are the MRT works going on outside which somewhat spoil the ambience of the location (but this should be gone by 2017) and the lack of Cable TV choices. Nearby MRT station made it very convenient to use the local transportation to go around. Also, staff and service was very excellent. We were there during the new year celebration. The hotel was close enough which enabled us 20 minuet walk to the central area were fireworks were made. Room was one of the small rooms, but I think it's because it's booked via hotels.com website rather than paying full price. When I checked-in, the person told me I received an "upgrade". Overall very good experience. No internet in room, but coffee shop about 3 min walk has free-wifi (very expensive coffee). 24-hr Kopitiam very nice. Easy access to […] the "circle line" (about 3 min walk), which takes you to Marina Bay Sands Convention Center in about 10 min. 8 min walk to Red line, which takes you to Orchard (2 stops). Bencoolen line (green line) is 2 min away and under construction, but once it's complete, should even more convenient. About 10 min walk to Raffles hotel. I would say one of the most convenient locations. Hotel is very clean. Pretty plain, but perfect for my needs. Only downside is no free internet. Read more

Fantastic location, very central with lots of eateries close to the hotel. The room was great and overall the hotel was splendid. I wouldn't recommend depending on the concierge as they pretty much direct all tourism related queries to their travel desk who is an external travel agent! We were fortunate to be upgraded to a spacious room. Downside was that it overlooked the Bencoolen Street MRT Station construction site, which could produce some fairly impressive noise late at night. However, the noise was not enough to disturb our sleep. The location is the best part about this hotel.

I found the hotel to be more than adequate. The rooms were nice size, clean and comfortable. This hotel is in a fabulous location in terms of proximity to various subway stations, orchard road, Little India, Chinatown, Marina Bay, etc. I would definitely stay here again!

I stayed at the Rendezvous earlier this year when it was being renovated - having returned six months later I was amazed at the transformation. The lobby area is now a beautiful, glistening white space, much more airy and open than it was before. Rooms are a decent size (for Singapore - they aren't enormous); I stayed in a superior room which was quite […] sufficient for myself - would have felt a bit crowded for a couple. Bed was very comfortable, shower was brand new and good and powerful, didn't leak over the floor - which is something one shouldn't need to mention, but I've had lots of unsatisfactory plumbing experiences in the last few trips to Singapore. Check in and check out were both very quick. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the nearest MRT, and within walking distance of Orchard Road, so that's you covered for both shopping and transport. Room service seemed on the eye-watering side of expensive, but I think that's par for the course in this country; probably a good incentive to get out and explore the neighbourhood for somewhat cheaper food and beverages. Easy to get to location, close to 2 metro stops. Staff were friendly, but English did not seem like their primary language. Had an issue with my shower flooding and it took several minutes and multiple explanations so that the staff understood the situation. Room was small by US standards, but typical of Asia. Bathroom had one of the nice fancy toilets […] with the heated seat and bidet nozzle. Shower was nice with a wand and an over head rain head (though did have an issue with the drain being clogged initially). The bed however was atrocious. I like a firm mattress but this was almost like sleeping on the floor. This alone made me not able to recommend this hotel. Enjoyed our 3-night stay at the Rendezvous Hotel. Rooms are newly refurbished and are more spacious than most Singapore hotels. Bus and MRT stations are located beside the hotel. There is also a 24-hour food court right across the street.

Check in process on executive floor was not smooth as the young fella was unprofessional. Wi-fi is available but he suggested LAN line for no reason. Upon arriving the room, there is no complimentary water bottles - very strange for executive floor. Found that shampoo was half empty and hairs on the mattress. Room was noisy as major renovation is taking […] place. I was told the construction will last two more years as two new lines of MRT will be built in front & behind the hotel. Taxi queue was ridiculously long as it is diffcult for cab to enter the hotel. Waited about 30 minutes in the morning. Happy hour ends at 8pm but upon arrival at 7:30pm, all plates were empty. Asked the hotel to replentish the snacks but was told it's too late to do so. I called the hotel manager & he said he will take care of it but after 30 minutes of waiting, I decided to just go back to the room. Overall, it's a lousy hotel and didn't deserve a star. Good location, nice room. Not much service and niceties provided for the charge (i.e. no internet even at lobby, no hair dryer, towels and toiletries are not changed on cleaning) Do not eat or drink anything from the room, 4.5 SGD a water bottle, 5 SGD a tiny bag of chips !!!

Hotel was in an excellent location to see all of "old Singapore" Less than 5 minutes from the central subway station and 20 minutes from most of the scenic parts of the central city. Hotel under renovation so pool and such closed, but the work was not intrusive. Air conditioning not up to snuff for me (I'm from Seattle) but probably OK for most.

I spent my early summer vacation in this hotel for 3 days. The location is superb. MRT station is 1 min away (Bras Basah) and Kopitiam (food court) opens 24 hours. However, room condition and bedding is just terrible. Heavy construction is going on since Feb 25, 2011. They start making crazy noise at 9:30 in the morning. Hotel staff very helpful, checked in early at 11am, it was not a problem, concierge gave us good instructions on taking the MRT which is a short walk from the hotel. Took the MRT to the Flyer and to Vivo Mall then Sentosa Island. Cab rides were reasonable because hotel close to everything. Concierge gave us great tip on souveneir shopping at Mufasa […] Department Store just a few minutes by taxi. Cafeteria style food court right across the street kept our eating budget in check and the food was really good. A few shopping malls within walking distance. Refrig was not working and the light on the desk also. Minor problem but kind of annoying because it was so hot in Singapore and wanted to keep cold drinks in the room. They are under renovations so in the afternoon pounding could be heard. But we were not 24/7 in the room so it was ok. The toilet somehow retained smells until the next flush because it was so deep. Comfortable room, big bed, fluffy towels. We had the breakfast buffet our last morning and it was not as good as we had hoped for the price. We would definitely stay there again, and we would not eat at the hotel, but stick with the food court right across the street. Read more

The hotel is located conveniently next to the Dhoby Ghaut station which is a major interchange station on Singapore's MRT (subway) network. The room I was staying at was clean and the service was also satisfying. There were, however, two things I must complain about. We enjoyed our 2 day stay. Staff were polite and helpful. We were able to book tours right at the Hotel. Room was very clean but in places the wall paper had become unglued (not surprising in such hot humid climate) and some tiles were loose in the bathroom. All lights and air conditioning were connected to a control panel. Unfortunately on my side […] of the bed there was no control for my bedside lamp so when my husband switched off the bedside lamp control, mine also went off. If I needed a light on during the night had to go round to his side during the night . Both lamps would then come on, disturbing my husband. Otherwise, all else was fine. Very polite staff! Very courteous and eager to help. Place was super clean. Got a little annoyed by them not fully respecting the "Privacy Please" indicator, but it was only so they could clean the room so I can't fault them too badly. I would definitely stay again.

This hotel is very well located right on the main shopping road which becomes Orchard. It is a few minutes from two underground stations, and the local and hopon buses stop right in front. There is a 7-11, Starbucks, and Food Court right by the hotel. They have a nice swimming pool. Room service and mini-bar prices are a bit high, so just go across the […] street to the 7-11. Same for eating. The Front Desk personnel were very friendly and helpful. It is not in the middle of the posh shops, but they are a short walk away or easily reached by public transport or a $US5 taxi ride.
